Summary: AU: Crime Boss—Mark "The Protector" Sloan—lived by one rule: No personal attachments. When an attempt is made on his life to take over his racket, his life hangs in the balance of renown neurosurgeon, Lexie Grey. Mark can't seem to shake the feelings or the need to have Lexie Grey in his life. Can Mark walk away without breaking his only rule, or will he risk everything at a chance for love—even if it costs them their lives.

So, I just love the characters of Mark and Lexie so much that I wanted to try a story with these two character's outside of it being centered around 100% medical or completely settled around Seattle Grace. Lexie
Lexie could pinpoint almost every decision she made by going back to the beginning. Where it all started.
She dissected it like it would reveal all the answers she was seeking.
The decision to let medicine become her whole life.
The decision volunteer for the late shift in the pit again.
The decision to take his case when she should have passed it off to another fellow attending.
The decision to fall into the depths of the blue of his eyes.
The decision to fall for a man that she had no business even falling for.
Because the decision hadn't been hers to begin with. It all started when he wanted her.
