Beck Multiverse took a breath of fresh air as he took in the sight of the beautiful landscape before him. It was a verdant and unspoilt countryside with rolling plains and a large open forest adjacent to it. The trees in the forest were much taller than most trees on Earth. The forest was alive with the sounds of nature such as the chirping of birds. The wind blew in a gentle breeze and tickled against Beck Multiverse's skin. Beck Multiverse loved nature and the great outdoors, back his Prime Universe he often went on walks through forests, hills and mountains, swam in rivers, climbed trees and swung on vines. Beck Multiverse smiled at those memories, those were good times.

Beck Multiverse had just arrived on his first world since travelling to this Multiverse. This was his very first journey outside his domain. He never done this before and was excited by the possibilities. Beck Multiverse was taller than average, he had long auburn hair which reached his shoulders, he had green eyes which sparkled, he wore a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket over it and faded denim jeans with white sneakers. He had a red backpack on and wore a tan cowboy hat.

He was currently heading to a nearby town called Westfield. Westfield was a typical country town and the people who lived there were close knit community of farmers. He was going to join the local adventurers' guild office which was a branch of a well-known guild in this world. How did Beck Multiverse know this information despite just arriving in this world? Well Beck Multiverse has "Cosmic Awareness" a very useful and very powerful ability that allows him to receive information about a world and its inhabitants. Beck Multiverse would have been very lost without his Cosmic Awareness there to guide him.

Meanwhile in the local adventurers' guild branch of Westfield, Samantha "Sammy" Buck was bored; she was the branch manager of Westfield branch of the Northstar Guild. Why was poor Sam bored? Well the Westfield Branch like most rural branches of the Northstar Guild rarely had anything exciting going on. Daily life in Westfield was monotonous and dreary for Sam it was the same old routine every day, most mission requests just revolved around helping the local farmers with their farms such as herding livestock, weeding, planting and harvesting crops and etc. Sometimes they will get requests to run errands such as collecting various items for the grocery stores and shops or escorting goods coming out town. Sam dreamed of a chance to get a real mission request like to fight Orcs and Gnolls or something heck she will even settle to dealing with bandits but who was she kidding? Rural guild offices like hers were mostly retirement spots for veteran adventurers who desired a lighter schedule and a slower change in pace and a dumping ground for rookie adventurers who lacked the experience and flunkies who failed missions.

Sam was snapped out of her funk by her assistant Edward Elric. The young State Alchemist was a rookie adventurer having arrived on this world one year ago and thus was assigned to the Northstar Guild Westfield Branch when he joined the Northstar Guild. Edward became Sam's assistant in short order when she recognized the young man's intelligence.

"What is it Ed?' Sam asked with her hand on her chin.

"I'm just handing over last week's report." Ed replied.

"Okay just put in my office." Sam said.

Taking a look at his boss Ed knew she was bored again.

"Let me guess another boring day?" he asked.

"Yup." Sam said without skipping a beat.

"You want to somewhere else right now?" Ed continued.

"Bingo." Sam said.

Ed sighed and the teen took his report and headed off to Sam's office. Westfield was a small town like his hometown back in his world and he knew how boring places like this can get but for him Westfield was nice change of pace from Amestris and the war that just recently ended there. Although he couldn't use Alchemy anymore because he no longer had his gate, he didn't regret his choice to save his brother and quite frankly not being in danger every time was refreshing. Ed was the only Outsider in the Westfield Branch, Outsider is the term given to otherworldly people like him who came to this world known as Hyperion to the locals. There used to be another Outsider like himself in the Westfield Branch but she got transferred three months ago. They didn't interact much but from what Ed could recall she was a quiet person who kept to herself. He didn't know where she was from unfortunately as she never spoken about her homeworld to anyone but he did know she was skilled with her sword hell she could probably give Roy Mustang a run for his money in a fight. Ed knew Sam wanted adventure he could see it her eyes but this posting didn't offer that he wished he could help Sam with her boredom but he had no idea what to do it's not like an adventure would just pop out of the blue right?

Beck Multiverse looked at the small two storey building in front of him with the sign in front stating Northstar Guild Westfield Branch Office and smiled this was it he thought as he entered the building.
