Light Yagami gave himself a pat on the back for being such an awesome god over the new world. He was so clever and so just, the way he killed bad people by writing their names in his note book. Everyone loved him, especially him. He turned on the TV to see if there were any new criminals in the news to kill.

"...And in other news, Timmy, the albino elephant at the New York Zoo, has just learned how to walk on his hind legs!"

Click.

Maybe there was something on the radio.

"...National Tiles! There's something for you, something for me, even something for your mum! Call Jeremy Sanderson at National Tiles for your free quote today!"

Light despised that ad. He wrote Jeremy Sanderson's name in the Death Note and arranged for him to die by a shelf of tiles collapsing onto him. It was kind of satisfying, but it wasn't the same as dispensing real justice.

Finally, he opened today's issue of the Daily Punctilio. They always had something good. For instance, on the third page of this issue, they had large photographs of the three Baudelaire murderers: Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Light read the facts of the case and made a plan. Since Sunny was the murderer, she would die immediately of a heart attack, so that the world would know Kira's judgment was swift. The other two were only accomplices, so they would instead suffer fatal accidents. Light wrote the names into the Death Note accordingly and gave himself another pat on the back for being so awesome.

Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire were trekking through the desert, quite on the lam, when Sunny, who was only an infant, suddenly shrieked, "Korah!" which probably meant something like, "Help! I think my heart has stopped!" And then she went limp. Violet and Klaus soon realised that their baby sister was dead.

"Alas! What misery!" said Violet.

"Truly, this is the most unfortunate in our series of events," agreed Klaus.

"How could this have happened?" Violet asked rhetorically, which is a word that here means "lamenting how unfair the situation was, rather than requesting an explanation". "She's only an infant! What kind of monster would give such a fate to an innocent baby?"

"Poor Sunny died being considered a murderer by the whole world..." said Klaus glumly. "We never got a chance to clear our names before she died..."

Then he got a glazed-over look in his eyes. Violet was concerned for a moment, but then the look came over her too. The two siblings dropped Sunny's body and began sprinting across the desert until they reached a highway. They threw themselves in front of cars until they got hit, and they both died on impact.

"BAUDELAIRE MURDERERS DIE IN FREAK HIGHWAY ACCIDENT!" said the headline of the next day's Daily Punctilio.

Light smirked and patted himself on the back again. He said to himself, "Kira, you've done it again."

The End
