AN: For context: In this story, the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson timelines take place at the same time. I know the HP story takes place ten years before PJO but for the story, they're set at the same time(because I want nothing to do with time travel).

Enjoy!

It was a Saturday afternoon full of blue cookies and relaxation when the doorbell rang.

"Any idea who it is Mom?" Percy asked, swallowing his mouthful of cookies as he walked to the door.

"No, I don't think we were expecting anyone," Sally, his super awesome mom answered.

As he opened the door Percy felt a pulse of godly energy. This can't be good, Percy thought to himself, with my level of luck it very well could be Ares, coming here to threaten and rage on me. But when Percy opened the door, instead of seeing an ugly muscle bulging brute, he saw a brisk-looking woman in her late twenties.

"Lady Hecate," Sally, who had come to check on the commotion said, "Please, come in."

And with a quick nod, the woman(goddess?) now known to be Hecate walked in.

"I have some fresh baked cookies in the kitchen, would you like some," Sally asked.

"While I appreciate the offer, no," Hecate said with a bit of a grim tone, "I am here strictly for business, I have an offer for young Perseus here."

"Percy," He corrected automatically "Perseus makes me feel old."

"Well Percy, may I continue?" Hecate asked amusement brimming in her eyes.

"Yes, of course."

"Well, I'm not one to beat around the bush so I'm just going to cut to the chase. Wizards exist, and yes I mean the wand-waving type."

Percy contemplated for a second not knowing what to feel. On one hand, the fact that wizards exist was totally out of the blue. On the other hand though, who was he to say that that was weird when he literally went on a quest to the underworld to retrieve Zeus's Lightning Bolt.

And so he decided on saying "Honestly I can't say I'm too surprised."

"I didn't expect you would be, anyways moving on, most of the wizarding world lies in Europe, though there are wizards right here in America. The wizards keep themselves hidden from the mortals, whom they keep they call "muggles", they have their own ministries as well, each country has their own Minister for magic, and have schools and sporting events and everything."

"So essentially, the wizarding world is just the mortal world but with magic and weird traditions," Percy said ever so eloquently.

"That is a gross oversimplification, but yes." Hecate admitted "That is the gist of it. Anyway, I'm here with an offer you see, I'm offering you the gift of magic, my blessing, the honour of becoming my champion."

Wait, so she's saying that she'll give him the ability to swipe a wand and bam, things will start flying.

And so with that knowledge in mind, I asked "Why me?"

"Well Percy, you are the second ever demigod who wasn't a child of mine to have an affinity with magic, the first being Merlin himself."

"Wait Merlin's real?"

"You know greek gods and wizards exist yet you doubt the existence of Merlin?" Hecate answered, in what had to have been her driest possible voice.

"Okay, dumb question, but are you sure I have magic? I've never been able to do anything your kids can." Percy said, thoroughly confused.

"I never said that you have magic, just that you have an affinity for magic. You have magic potential that my blessing can help you tap into."

This sounded almost too good to be true, having magic powers as well as my godly ones to help fend off monsters. In fact, it probably was.

"What's the catch?"

"Right, well you see, wizarding Britain is one of the most important countries, wizarding wise, in Europe. The problem is, for the past thirty or so years, magical Britain has been in a civil war. The racism in the mortal world also exists in the wizarding, except it's about blood purity. Being 'Pure-blood' means both your parents are wizards, usually meaning that you also come from a wealthy and rather influential family. Being 'Half-blooded' means that one of your parents was magical, and being 'Muggle-born' is pretty self-explanatory. Having said that, here's how the story goes: about thirty years ago a powerful wizard by the name of Voldermort started rising to power, and he wanted to take over Britain and 'cleanse' magical Britain by getting rid of all the muggle-borns. He started to gain prominence because many of the rich and influential families agreed with him about the royalty of the pure-blooded and the filth of the muggle-borns. Eventually, there was only one wizard who had the power to stand against him, Albus Dumbledore; headmaster of the British wizarding school, widely considered the most powerful wizard of the modern era and the only wizard to know of the greek world. At one point Voldermort went to kill the Potters, consisting of James and Lily both of whom worked in an organization lead by Dumbledore against them, and their newborn Harry. The thing is when Voldermort went to kill Harry, the curse rebounded and now he is nothing more than a spirit. This year Harry will be going to Hogwarts the British school of witchcraft and wizardry. These next few years, Voldermort will be making his bids back to power and-"

"You want me to join the war," Percy said, finally understanding.

"Yes," Hecate confirmed "As a demigod, especially one of the Big Three, you will be a powerful wizard as your magical core will be stronger than that of your average wizard as it is boosted by your godly energy. The school year starts in a week, you've just turned twelve so I can manage to get you into first year if you were to accept. With you in the equation, I would be much more relaxed about the situation. As a heads up, I should mention that if you accept you will be in Britain for at least seven years to fully complete your schooling. This isn't a quest though, so you only have a faint outline of it rather than an in-depth description. You will have a lot more freedom as well because I'm not interfering beyond that. I'm just here to tell you what side to stand on. In addition, I should mention that if you accept and become a wizard, you will most likely find yourself becoming part of the magical community."

"So your plan is to bless me and enrol me in a school called pig disease and leave me be as long as I join the good guys in the war?" Percy asked, his brain on the verge of exploding.

"Yes, and mind you this is normal. This is how all muggle-borns do it, though obviously, we'd put you as half-blood as it wouldn't make sense for an American muggle-born to go to a British school, considering as a muggle-born you aren't even supposed to know about magic, but obviously like them, you can still come back for the school breaks."

Should I go? Percy found him asking himself. On one hand, it would certainly more of a burden, to be dealing with both Kronos and Voldermort at the same time. On the other hand, though this could be his chance to actually be part of society. He couldn't be a part of the mortal society because of who he was. Sure the wizards weren't demigods but they do have a form of supernatural powers. Plus Hecate said he'd become one of them.

"Wouldn't there still be a problem with monsters?" Sally, who had been quiet until then asked.

Oh no, he had forgotten about the monsters.

"No."

Nevermind.

"You see," Hecate explained, "It's not just the gods who move, it's the whole pantheon. Therefore, when the gods move the monsters move with them. I'm probably the only one still in Britain. There will still be monsters but of the magical type. These magical beasts don't target demigods or even wizards, they're basically just another species such as the Goblins or Hippogriffs."

Finally, this could be it! This could be his chance to escape the chaotic world of mythology. It would mean leaving his mom though.

He turned to his mother and asked "What do you think?"

"I think you should go, Percy," His Mom said her eyes shining, "You'd finally be able to fit in. You won't be bothered by monsters anymore. If you go I would miss you but you could always come back during holidays."

He looked at him and nodded. He'd come to his decision.

"I accept."
