Arc 1
Atlanta, Georgia
It was a beautiful morning in beautiful, historic Atlanta, Georgia. The city was a gleaming metropolis for black culture and excellence. So much so that it was nicknamed "The Black Mecca''. The city was financially backed by some of the big-time corporations that seemed to be stationed in the city. Nationally critically acclaimed corporations. The city was the home to many popular figures in black culture including the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The birds flying above in the sky were chirping. The skies were clear as the beautiful sun seemed to be rising up as it's light shone over the city, eventually peeking into the window of one of its residents. His black low-afro with faded sides could be seen as his eyes were closed while he slept peacefully in his full size bed in the center of his bedroom with his pale red bed sheets. His bedroom was a safe haven for him. His black wooden bed frame, which also happened to be a space compartment, held some of his most precious items. Above the bed were several trophies lined on his bed frame from when he was younger. Lined on the walls above his bed were some of the jerseys he wore whether they be AAU, Middle or Little Leagues. There were a few medals as well hanging up. He had red window curtains and on the wall he had a black wooden bookshelf lined with several books ranging from autobiographies of athletes to books having to do with engineering and technological advancements in the near possible futures. On some of the shelves were pictures of memories and people held most important to him. Under the bookshelf was a black desk with red lights lined up under the bookshelf that went all across the desk.
Above the desk was a board where he had a few local newspaper articles that had him featured in it. He had a black and red chair to go along with. His walls were painted a pale red with the ceiling being a gigantic painting of a red sunset. On the wall beside the bookshelf/desk was a closet that had a black curtain that covered it and beside this was none other than his door with a signed poster from Josh Smith from his Atlanta Hawks days on the back of it.
"They plan was to knock me out the top of the game…" His morning alarm sang out as it came from the red iPhone 8 as it sounded off on his black wooden nightstand making him groggily reach out his arm and quickly press down on the button making it stop. The song was "You're Da Man" by Nas. He exhaled as he rose up out of bed. The boy stood up groaning as he stretched. He had toffee colored skin and dark brown eyes. Currently his hair was messy but when he actually did his hair it would look nice. On his face he had a bit of stubble on his face.
"Zaza, Are you up?" He heard one of his aunt's say from downstairs. Aunt Anne to be exact. Anne Hill-Stewart, she was the sister of his mother, Annisa Stewart, who tragically passed away from a shooting in Midway just when he was 4 years old. Ever since then he was sent to live with his aunt Anne and her wife, Cassandra Hill in beautiful, ATL.
"Yes ma'am, I'm up." He replied as he walked over to his closet to pick out his outfit for the day. The young 16-year old stood at an even 6'3 and weighing in at 190 Pounds pure lean muscle. Plenty of hours working out during the summer had paid off.
"Another day. Another day." He muttered to himself as he looked around his closet.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
After a near hour long experience in the bathroom, "Zaza" walked down the stairs. His face had finally been shaved and it gave his face a clean, smooth feel to it. He did his hair and had managed to comb through it before giving it a few mini-twist at the top of his head.
Going to one of the best high schools in the state, Atlanta Classical Academy, he was required to wear uniforms which wasn't something he liked but something he did. He wore tailored khaki pants with a white button-up shirt which he had tucked in. He wore a navy blue blazer with an academy patch on the pocket of the blazer. He wore a solid brown leather belt that matched with the brown leather dress shoes on his feet. Loosely hanging from his neck was the navy blue and baby blue striped tie.
"Isaiah, finally you're out! I almost feel like I had a girl in the house." His Aunt Anne said as she brought two bowls from the kitchen and sat one of them down in front of her wife, his Aunt Cassandra or Aunt Cass as he usually called her. Anne was a rather short woman with chocolate brown skin and curly black hair.
"That's cause he's gotta get ready to impress the ladies." Aunt Cass said, making him roll his eyes as he walked towards the table and gave her a kiss on the cheek before giving his Aunt Anne a hug. Cass was a rather average heighted woman with caramel brown skin with black and brown long straight hair.
Growing up being raised by two women was something that offered a lot of great things. He learned to love people for who they are. He learned to never judge a book by it's cover. He learned to love who you love and never let anyone question any of the things you do. When he was younger, he was bullied for it a bit but he learned to channel the emotions through the game of basketball.
"You better not be getting nasty with these girls. I don't wanna be a Great Aunt yet."
"Yeah that's right Nephew, because if you mess up, Plan B will be your new best friend." Cass said as Isaiah nearly choked on his sip of orange juice.
"Yeah, that's a no on that. I don't need a kid."
"Good now, tonight you're gonna need to be at Horizon Labs at 8, your Aunt has a presentation tonight and she wants us to be there." Cass said as she looked up at Anne with a smile.
"I'm gonna need that in writing so I can give it to my coach so he can excuse me from practice."
"I'll write the note. You just make sure you are there." Anne said as she pointed at Isaiah. "And you too, I understand your students are important but I need you to be there too, please." Anne said as she looked at was a school principal at North Atlanta High School. She took her job very seriously and felt it was her mission to try to make every student better.
"I'll be there, I promise." Cass smiled as she reached her hand across the table and held her wife's hand making Anne smile.
"Don't y'all think it's a little bit too early for all that lovey dovey stuff?"
"Just be quiet and eat your breakfast." Cass said as Isaiah shrugged his shoulders and started to eat his breakfast.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
After a near 20-minute drive Isaiah pulled up in the parking lot of the school. Isaiah drove his Aunt Anne's Volvo S60. Anne had decided to ride with Cass since it was on the way to North Atlanta High.
The two were almost inseparable. Originally there was some hesitation from the judge to grant custody to Anne and Cass but since his Uncle John wasn't able to make it to hearing, the judge had no choice but to grant custody to Anne and Cass. And since then his life had taken a turn that he hadn't anticipated. His aunts had done nothing but put him in the best possible position to succeed whether it be putting him in the best schools, getting him involved with various organizations and sports, they had done something for him that no one else could've. Isaiah never knew his father or anything about him other than the fact that he ran out of him and his mother shortly before her tragic passing but he did unfortunately have the bastard's last name, Butler. He didn't remember much about his mother other than the fact that she was a hardworking reporter who sought out to uncover the truth that people wanted to hide. She was a warrior for truth with a sword. In her case, her sword was a pen.
The idea of his mother seeking the truth motivated Isaiah. Motivated him to be somewhat of a warrior in his own right and always seek out the truth and seek out justice.
And in order to do that correctly he needed to graduate from High School first which was something he couldn't wait to do.
Isaiah deeply exhaled as he opened the car door and stepped out with his backpack in his hands. He closed the door behind himself and placed the keys in his pocket before he began to walk towards the crowd of uniformed students walking into the school.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
Isaiah walked through the hallways with a pair of Airpods in his ears listening to one of his favorites, Nas. To say that he was a bit of an old head would be a bit of an understatement. Sure, he liked to listen to some of the new school music but the old school Hip-Hop and R&B was where it's at. It was something about listening to guys like Nas, Andre 3000, T.I., Notorious B.I.G. etc. Of course it made him stand out especially amongst his peers in school considering that there were only about 43 black kids that went to the school and he was one of the forty-three.
And being one of forty-three black students at the school, it got him a lot of attention especially being the star guard for the basketball team. Last year, during his freshman season, he averaged 18.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game which led the team to a playoff spot before getting eliminated from another rival school in Atlanta. And now that this was his sophomore year he was planning to take the team all the way to a state championship this year.
Finally, Zay arrived at his locker. He had a few extra minutes before he had to get to his next class. He placed his hand on his locker, twisting it to his combination to grab his books.
"Hey Isaiah." Zay heard making him turn his head to see a short, ginger-haired girl with blue eyes standing next to him in her uniform. Her name was Amber. Amber Anderson, her father was a teacher at the school and for years, Amber had been trying to get at Isaiah for sometime. And every single time, he would entertain her enough to get her to leave him alone but this time he wasn't feeling it but he had to play the part.
"Amber."
"I texted you last night, did you not get my text?"
"No, sorry I was busy with school stuff."
"Is my father being hard on you again? I talked to him about that."
"Hey bro, Coach just called saying we got a meeting in the gym." said Isaiah's best friend, Christian Atwood. Christian was also a player for the team standing at approximately 6'7. He was a sophomore just like Isaiah. Christian had a low-cut fade with waves and dark brown eyes with chocolate brown skin. Christian had been friends with Isaiah since they were little tikes running around causing trouble, playing in areas they weren't supposed to.
"Oh damn, I didn't see that." Isaiah looked at Christian before he turned to Amber. "Sorry duty calls." He said as he then took off walking down the hallway before turning a corner.
"Thanks man, I owe you one." Isaiah said as he dapped Christian up while they both were chuckling.
.
"You owe me a lot. Just make sure you keep throwing those lobs my way during games." Chris said, making Isaiah chuckle once again.
"I will as long you keep grabbing the boards and keep the inside locked down. You get the inside, I get the perimeter."
"Just like always. And this year, we'll get the state chip."
"No doubt." The two said as they fist bumped. The two friends walked down the hallway making their way towards their next class until he had seen one of his teammates, Caleb Peters leaning up against a locker talking to a girl who looked to be annoyed by his presence. Caleb was a tanned caucasian male with dark brown hair and blue eyes. This girl he was talking to wasn't recognasible at least by Isaiah.
She had clear honey beige skin with long curly milk chocolate brown hair. She had a beauty mark under her left eye with eyebrows above her eyes matching her hair color. And a body that most would dream of with hips, thighs and a backside that drew attention from members of the opposite sex. Even her uniform, it still had a way of capturing the attention of others.
"Damn, lil mama other there bad. It's a shame she's with Caleb."
"Caleb has a girlfriend or at least, I think he does. But there's something off about what's going on." Isaiah said as he continued to look at the two talking.
"Alright man, you love looking for danger. You like a black Superman or Batman or something." Isaiah chuckled as he shook his head. In a way what Chris was saying was true. Isaiah had a tendency of chasing out danger especially when it came to bullying. He hated bullies, always has and always will.
"I'm gonna go to class now." She said in a soft, angelict one as she began to walk away but Caleb grabbed her by the arm yanking her back.
"I'm not finished talking to you."
"Well, the lady is done talking to you." Isaiah said as he rushed over to Caleb and the girl and grabbed at Caleb's wrist.
"Let her go." Isaiah said with a frown on his face. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see the girl looking at him with a hint of hope in her eyes. Caleb reluctantly let his grip go allowing the girl to yank her wrist away. Isaiah let Caleb's wrist go as Caleb and he had a stare down.
"That's okay, she wasn't all that anyway." Caleb said as his glare had turned over to the girl he was talking to before he walked away.
"Punk ass." Chris said, referring to Caleb as he walked away.
"You alright?" Zay said as he looked at the girl.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She said looking down at the ground, only glancing up once to look in the eyes.
"Alright, my name's Isaiah." He said as he held his hand out for a handshake. She shook his hand and once more glanced up to look him in the eyes.
"Rosalyn. This is my third day here." She said.
"Well, welcome. Please don't let Caleb ruin your opinion on the students here. I heard from a few girls that Caleb has a tendency to act like his penis size." Isaiah joked, getting a giggle from her, making him smile.
"And she smiles. That's great. Well, if you need anything just let me know I'm usually either in the gym or just roaming the halls or keeping my friend over there outta trouble."
"Alright, thank you." She said glancing up to look him in the eyes once. Zay walked away from her with a smirk on his face while Chris looked at him chuckling as they both began to walk down the hallway side by side.
"Damn bro, how did you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Get lil mama, to start feeling you like that."
"Feeling me? What the hell are you talking about?"
"Bro, I know you're not blind. That girl is feeling you dog."
"Why would she be feeling me? We just met."
"Yeah face to face but bro she's been watching you since she first got here and trust me I know. I see everything that goes on here."
"I know you do, I should start calling you the watcher."
"Oh you got jokes, huh?"
"You know I do. I got jokes all day, every day."
"That's okay just don't say nothing when I dunk on you in practice." Chris said making Zay chickle.
"Oh it's like that."
"It's like that." And with that the two friends and teammates continued on their way to get to class even if they were going to be a little bit late.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
Anne stood in her lab currently typing on her laptop getting some information on the newest innovation being created by Horizon Labs. It was supposed to be their way of exploring various sources of energy to lower the uses of non-renewable energy sources. But it could only do that if they could actually make it work.
"Damnit." Anne cursed as she looked on at the information on her computer. Just as she started to say every curse word in her vocabulary, her partner Jared Hall walked into the lab. Jared Hall was an African American male with caramel colored skin and a black goatee. He had dark brown eyes and wore his lab coat with a blue button-down and black slacks with black dress shoes.
"Hey Anne, calm down it's just one failed experiment. We have till 8 to reveal the final product."
"I don't know if it's smart to unveil this on the same night that STAR Labs reveals their new facility."
"Yeah well, Dr. Mac wanted to reveal it. And as the Head of the Applied Science's division and Vice President of this company, I guess we have to listen to the guy even if we don't like it."
"It sucks having a boss." Anne joked making Jared chuckle as well before he walked over to the computer and took a look at her work.
"Ah, I see what happened. You forgot to put in the right sequencing equation for the power core." Jared said, making Anne sigh.
"For someone so smart, I forgot something so simple." Anne said. Jared chuckled before he started to type on the computer.
"My son and I bought these tickets this morning to see that new Zombie movie."
"The Rise of Planet Z? Isaiah was talking nonstop about going to see that movie a few weeks ago." Anne said as she took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes.
"Really, He should come with us tonight, I can buy his ticket." Jared said as he kept his eyes on the screen.
"Tonight he's actually coming here with my wife, Cass. He was supposed to have basketball practice tonight but I told him and Cass to come here tonight. I could actually use support for the reveal tonight." Jared chuckled as he turned his head and looked at his lab partner.
"Well, I think that's good. He'll come here to get some exposure to the future that we're creating. Not to mention, it gets him away from those hooligans that you told me about."
"Yeah well, that is the goal. Besides, I did promise him a few months ago on his birthday that I would take him. And who knows he might actually let that nerd free and stop trying to play Mr. Cool Guy for one second."
"Teenagers. Gotta love 'em and hate 'em."
"Got that right partner."
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
After his long day at school, Zay pulled up in front of his home. He turned the car off and sat there gathering his thoughts for a bit. It was super early for him. He was used to staying in practice till 6 but he was home at 4:05. Now granted he had to go to Horizon Labs at 7, he had a bit of time to take a quick nap or get a few shots up if he had the time.
One thing that was on his mind after the day was the whole altercation earlier involving Caleb and Rosalyn. Caleb was a known douchebag who had a history of cheating on his girlfriend Molly but he had her wrapped around his finger so much that he could cheat or do whatever and she would still go running back to him. But the fact that he attempted to talk to Rosalyn and basically tried to force her to pay him attention. He could've tried that with any other girl but the new girl, Rosalyn. That was a mistake, a mistake that Zay wasn't gonna forget for a while, a mistake that he would pay for if Zay had it his way.
There was something about Rosalyn that just captured Zay's attention. Maybe it was the vibe he picked up from her or something else. Innocence. There was a sense of innocence he got from her. And apparently, she had her eyes on him for a while since she had been there but Zay never noticed her. Perhaps that was the reason, she couldn't look him directly in the eyes whenever she was talking to him or perhaps it was a social anxiety thing. But she could look Caleb in the eyes with no problem. Maybe he was thinking about too much. Maybe it wasn't that deep. Or maybe it was but who knows? The only thing he needed to worry about right now was the event he had to go later tonight.
He opened the car door and stepped out of the driver side grabbing his bag. He closed the door and locked the car and made his way up to the front door. He put his key into the keyhole and pushed the door open before he walked into the house.
"Aunt Cass! Aunt Anne! Y'all home?" He shouted, closing the door behind himself hearing no answer. This meant he had the house all to himself which was a pretty rare occurrence. He ran up the steps and walked into his room, closing the door behind himself and throwing his bag off to the side.
"Finally, I can take a nap." Zay said as he threw his blazer off on the bed and laid down on his bed to slowly drift off into a state of peaceful slumber.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
Nightmare
Isaiah's eyes slowly blinked open as he laid on the ground. It was a much different setting than what he went to sleep in. He groaned as he sat up looking around at his setting. He was in downtown Atlanta but the city was different. It was empty. There was no one walking, no cars on the roads, no sounds or any fumes. Nothing but buildings.
Zay looked down at his body noticing that he was still in his school uniform making him frown. He stood up to his feet, looking around with a bit of fear.
"What the hell?" Zay said as he looked. He noticed that the skies were red and a planet that looked like the literal embodiment of hell was in the sky. The odd thing about the planet was it seemed as if it were coming straight towards him.
"No!" Zay said as he turned around and started running but no matter what it seemed like he couldn't get away from the planet. He peeked over his shoulder seeing it get closer. Zay closed his eyes as everything faded to black
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
"Shit!" Zay said as he bolted up in a bit of panic and fear from the nightmare he just had. He panted for his breath as he closed his eyes and tried to process what just happened in his dream. What was that planet he just saw? It couldn't have been something from Earth. It had to be something alien. Something dangerous. Something that could destroy everything that he ever loved. It could destroy Atlanta.
He looked over on his nightstand seeing his phone. He tapped on the screen seeing that it was now 6:32. So he had about an hour to get to Horizon Labs in North Atlanta.
"Alright, let's get this thing started." He groaned as he rose up out of the bed and walked on over to his closet.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
The time was now 7:30 PM and the presentation was supposed to start at 8 and neither Cass or Zay were there yet which started to worry Anne. They both promised they would be there to support her for her presentation. She was so nervous about it. She had been working on the project for a year and a half now and it was something that could make or break her career. Having Cass and Zay there was gonna be the motivation and the support she needed to calm her nerves especially since her boss was gonna be there.
A black Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of the Horizon Labs facility making Anne let out a nervous sigh. A driver in a black uniform stepped out and walked around to the door opening it as a caucasian male with a head full of salt-and-pepper hair stepped out. He wore an expensive all-black suit. Anne recognized him as Dr. Jefferson Mac, the Vice President and Head of Applied Sciences in Horizon Labs.
"Dr. Mac. It's a pleasure for you to join us." Anne said as she walked down the steps of the facility stairs to greet Dr. Mac in a black sleeveless dress with black heels.
"The pleasure is all mine. I'm excited to see this new creation, I've heard it could be a breakthrough in the way we look at life itself." Dr. Mac responded as he shook hands with the young woman while his car door closed behind himself.
"Well, that's a bit of overselling it but that's a good way to look at it."
"I hope you don't mind but I brought a guest." Dr. Mac said as he turned around as a black limousine pulled up to the curb. A tall tanned caucsian woman with short black hair and brown eyes wearing a black chauffeur uniform. She walked around the limo and opened the door as the 6 '2, bald caucasian billionaire with green eyes known as Alexander Joseph Luthor AKA Lex Luthor. He wore an expensive black pinstripe suit with a green button-up shirt and a purple tie.
"I believe you know Mr. Luthor." Dr. Mac said as the bald male came walking to stand tall next to him with a smirk on his face.
"Please Jefferson call me Lex." Lex said, looking at Dr. Mac before he turned over to Anne. "And it's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Hill." He held out his hand as a sign of courtesy for a handshake,
"Likewise, Mr. Luthor, I'm excited to see this innovation that you have created."
"Well, it wasn't just me. My partner Dr. Hall couldn't be here tonight but he sends his regards."
"Well, let's get on with the presentation. Shall we?" Dr. Mac said as he pointed up the steps at the facility. Anne exhaled as she, Dr. Mac and Lex began to walk up the steps.
"Sorry Aunt Anne, we got stuck in traffic." Anne stopped in her tracks and smiled as she, Luthor and Dr. Mac turned around to see Zay standing there in "Shadow" Jordan 1s with black tailored slacks with a white button-up with a grey vest with a black tie underneath. Cass wore a red long sleeve dress with black heels attempting to look as professional as she could to support her wife.
"Dr. Mac, Mr. Luthor. I would like for you to meet my wife, Cassandra Hill and my nephew, Isaiah Butler." Anne said with the biggest possible smile as she pointed at her wife and her nephew.
"Nice to meet you, Dr. Mac and Mr. Luthor." Cass said as she shook hands with Dr. Mac and then Lex Luthor. Isaiah shook hands with both men, noticing the way that Dr. Mac seemed to look at him, judging him by his appearance.
"Well, let's get started, shall we?" Dr. Mac asked as Anne nodded while looking back at her family who smiled back at her as they started to walk forward as well.
(!)-(!)-(!)-(!)
"Here at the facility, my partner and I have been…" Anne was talking as she went through giving a tour of the facility to Dr. Mac, Lex Luthor and Cass. Anne had taken Zay to the facility a few times and had shown him some of the things that they had been working on. No matter how much Zay tried to hide it or act all cool as if he didn't care, the technological advancements made by Horizon Labs had captured his attention.
It was crazy to think that the world was the way it was now. Superheroes flying around the world whether they be metahumans or aliens or whatever they made the normal everyday human look average. The odd thing is despite these superpowered heroes running around, the criminals in cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, they didn't stop. They weren't gonna stop because the big heroes were always gonna overlook these problems to chase the big problems. The problems like aliens looking to invade the planet or robots looking to take over. It was time that the smaller cities had a hero to stand up for them, especially ATL. A hero to combat The 1000 gang. The 1000 gang were a subdivision of the 100 gang and seemed to be stationed in Atlanta and had been active in a bunch of criminal activity for the past 2 years.
"And this is the latest innovation, we call it the Atlatron." Anne spoke, getting Zay's attention making him look up to see a large room with a device he recognized. A device that was only in theory. A device that he thought could only be theorized. In theory, the Arc Reactor could be a new way of exploring energy. Unlimited energy with unlimited potential.
"That's a dumb ass name." He muttered under his breath getting a jab in the ribs by his Aunt Cass.
"Now in the words of my partner with this one, I'm not gonna let my words show off this bad boy. I think a demonstration would be best." Anne said as Lex and Dr. Mac looked on with a smirk on their face while Cass followed them. Zay just continued to look forward in amazement looking as the source of energy glowed.
"Wow." Zay said as he stepped into the room slowly walking towards the big metal ball of technology glowing with energy. He kept walking until he stood right in front of it with it's light starting to reflect on his face. He lifted his hand and placed it onto the ball getting a feel before he quickly extracted his hand feeling the heat of the energy on his hand.
"Damn, that's hot." Zay said, taking his hand off quickly. He quickly backed out of the room but turned to give it one final peek before he ran towards his Aunts and the suits. Anne stood at a panel taping on it's screen as the doors of the room with the Atlatron began to close. The ball began to glow brighter than before as it began to give off a hum.
"That's incredible." Dr. Mac said as he smiled while the married couple looked on in Amazement. Lex Luthor looked on with a smirk as if he knew something no one else did. Zay smiled as he looked on but his smile turned into a frown as he saw the ball began to glow brighter to the point that it was almost blinding. Zay shielded his eyes from the light just like everyone else.
"What's happening?" Dr. Mac asked while shielding his eyes.
"I don't know. Could be a malfunction."
Everyone in the room gasped as they felt the ground began to rumble at their feet. The glass panels in the building all began to break falling apart causing everyone to take cover and duck. However Zay was the slowest to react causing a piece of glass to strike him in his right eyebrow causing him to hiss in pain as he placed a hand on his eyebrow feeling the blood seep from his wound.
Zay looked up with a frown and watched as a beam of energy came from the Atlatron and seemed to be coming directly for the bald billionaire. Zay instinctively pushed Lex out of the way and jumped in front of the blast. He screamed out in pain and agony as he felt as if his skin was being melted off his body but it wasn't. He felt hot.
"Zay!" Anne cried out looking at her nephew with fear in her voice as she held a hand out as if she were trying to touch him but Cass grabbed her holding her back while she looked on with her own look of worry at the boy she looked at as her child.
The Atlatron stopped glowing as sparks began to fly out of the machine's circuitry while Isaiah dropped down to his knees and fell backwards onto his back as he groaned out in pain while the eyelids over his eyes closed. Cass couldn't hold Anne away anymore as tears began to seep from both of their eyes as they ran over to Zay and kneeled down to him.
"No! No! No!" Anne cried out as she held him in her arms hugging him while Cass called an ambulance to get him some medical attention. Dr. Mac looked in panic while Lex Luthor frowned looking down at the boy that just pushed him out of the way, possibly saving his life. The frown disappeared from his face as he saw a small pulse of energy from the boy's veins.
One thing was now true, Isaiah's life would never be the same. Out of all the people in the room right now, none of their lives would be the same. And Atlanta was never gonna be the same.
A/N: Alright, finally I'm finished with this chapter. I have been working on it for about 2 days now. The character I have actually been working on for a while. This is on Earth-Prime or a different Earth-Prime, an Earth in DC, I would imagine so I guess you could say it's Earth-Prime or a different Earth if that makes you feel better. This is an AU and my character is gonna have a bit of an impact, if not on the entirety of the DC Universe than primarily in his city, Atlanta. And yes, I did make him a high school student simply for the fact that I want to try to have some fun with that. I'm not gonna go into great detail about the character simply because I would like for more to be revealed throughout the story. Just a little FYI, for the story image, I used Black Lightning because he was the reason I created this character but this character does not have an electricity based powers like Black Lightning but a powerset more so similar like Starfire or Captain Atom.
