Casey Novak was late, granted she didn't know the layout of Metropolis and Kim Patterson, the Metropolis ADA hadn't shown up at the hotel yet to pick the redhead up.

A notorious Rapist and murderer is on trial here, but the majority of his crimes occurred in Manhattan, so the Metropolis District Attorney called up Branch and asked him to send his best Prosecutor to try this case, so that meant Casey got a call from her Boss at around six in the evening explaining everything.

John Stewart, the Green Lantern screamed as he watched his raven haired teammate fall onto the roof of the building they had been floating over whilst battling the Legion Of Doom's Giganta, Luthor, Cheetah, Copperhead, Banshee, Volcana, and Parasite. Volcana had blasted Diana with a pair of fireballs, the Amazon warrior slammed into the roof with a crash, she lay completely still, blood oozing from her mouth.
John rushed to Diana's aid, using his ring's energy to shield her from Volcana's attack.
Casey sighed as she spots Kim Patterson's silver Audi A8 pull up to her place.
Soon, Kim and Casey were on their way to the courthouse. Forty year-old Rayce Brown was led into the courtroom in handcuffs and shackles, Kim finds a parking spot before leading Casey up to Courtroom #9 on the fourth floor.
Casey opened with a powerful Opening Statement, outlining her case against Brown for the ten rapes and four murders he stands accused of.
Kim watched Casey, and was legitimately impressed at the older ADA's handling of things so far.
Diana is rushed into the Operating Room. Despite himself, John looked worried.
It didn't take the Jury long at all to convict Rayce Brown on all charges and the Judge set a date for sentencing, as she left the courtroom Casey felt a wave of sadness wash over her, yes she was stoked about the conviction, but she really wanted to see Wonder Woman and since she hadn't, the redhead was a little down.
The ringing of her cell phone pulled Casey out of her thoughts, Casey frowned when she saw that it was Olivia. Steeling her resolve, Casey answered on the second ring.
"What do you want, Olivia ?" Casey hissed at her former lover on the other end.
"I just wanted to say congrats on convicting Rayce Brown."
Casey rolled her eyes at the hollow words of the woman she used to be madly in love with.
"Don't patronize me, Captain." Casey said, not even attempting to hide the animosity in the tone of her voice.
"Casey, I-I wasn't, I'm really happy for you." Olivia says, a hint of genuine sadness in her voice.
Not wanting to hear anymore, Casey said her goodbyes to Olivia and hung up, her heart still heavy with unresolved pain.
