A/N: once again I'm inspired by Leela! I wanna do a self insert too! And if it's Pinky and the Brain, it needs a theme song! So here's mine!
Pinky:
Gee, Brain, what do ya wanna do tonight?
Sparkle(me):
I know what we're doing tonight!
The Brain:
That's right sparkle! Same thing we do every night, Pinky, try to take over the world!
They're Pinky and the Brain,
Yes, Pinky and the Brain,
One is a genius, the other's insane.
They met a little girl,
Who changed their whole world,
They're pinky,
Sparkle and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,
Brain.
Before each night is done,
Their plan will be unfurled,
By the dawning of the sun,
They'll take over the world!
They're Pinky and the Brain,
Yes, Pinky and the Brain,
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain:
To prove their mousey worth,
They'll overthrow the earth.
They're pinky,
Sparkle and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain...
Pinky: NARF!
Sparkle (me): *giggles*
There you go! I love this version! It's so cute!
Anyway! On with the story NARF!
In a home in Burbank California lived a girl, with her not so cooperative family. Her name? Well, her name is sparkle. Because according to her parents, The first time she opened her eyes, after they weren't sure whether she was going to survive, they sparkled, and that was how sparkle got her name. Sparkle was a very cheerful little girl, considering her home circumstances. She always tried to look on the bright side of things, but found it exceedingly difficult, especially when her parents would fight a lot. But she ignored it, because, what else could she do? There's nothing she could do, especially with her physical limitation.
You see. Sparkle was different, sparkle was different in one way that not many other people she knew was. Sparkle had a disability, a disability which gave her the disadvantage of walking, and the other disadvantage of random people who didn't know her, to stare at her like she was crazy. But that didn't stop the cheerful little girl going about her everyday life trying to fulfil her dreams. Sparkle was 9 years old, she had one dream in life, to prove to people around her that didn't have a disability, and those with one, that just because of a limitation, she could do anything, and the little girl believed she could do anything, anything she put her mind to.
But like absolutely everything, there was always people to push her down. She called them, reality crushers or non-believers, the people that crashed her reality were people older than her, much much older than her. But she never got beat down, she was going to keep trying and trying and trying and trying, until one day, the non-believers and the reality crushers would turn into believers. One day they would say that sparkle could do anything she wanted, one day they'd see!
One Wednesday afternoon in sparkle's Home in Burbank California, the usual cheerful girl had just heard some horrible horrible news. Her grandfather, the king of the believers, had passed away. Sparkle was ruined, but still, she kept hope. She knew if she gave up her grandfather would be worried about her, so, she continued on. Hurt, broken and feeling like she couldn't do anything. It was a very different place now that her grandfather had passed away. Very different indeed.
Sparkle was very quiet after her grandfather passed away, she wasn't her usual loud self, she wasn't telling anyone that she could do anything, the sparkle in her eyes had gone too, and nobody knew why she was so distraught. She did though, sparkle knew exactly why.
Her grandfather passed away, the king of the believers, as she dubbed him. Because he was the first person who fully believed in her intentions, he was the first person that told her she could do anything, so therefore, he became the king of the believers, and she became the princess. Sparkle and her grandfather had a very very special bond, that even though they were far apart now, it would never break. The night he passed away, he was watching her feeling so sorry, because she didn't know yet. And he was there when her father told her. He never left her side, not once.
Weeks passed by, and sparkle still hadn't improved. She was still stuck on crying, or, to most people the sadness stage of the five stages of grief. How long did people expect her to be sad for? A week? A day? No! Sparkle is going to be sad forever! Losing the only person who believed in her was going to make her sad forever, of course it was! Humans were so particular, it confused sparkle. So, when her parents brought in a cage to her room, sparkle was confused. "What's that?" Sparkle asked, sniffing. "These are your new pets! We thought we might get them for you to cheer you up! "Her mother said, kissing her forehead, as her father who was behind her, placed the cage down on her special adapted table. "Thank you. "Sparkle said, quietly. Her parents gave her a hug and left her alone to play with her new pets.
The animals in the cage, that were actually mice, looked up, one of them had a chubby head, and the other had a not chubby head. "Look at that! A little girl! "One of them said, in a British cockney accent. The British cockney accent mouse went up to the cage bars and looked at his new pet owner! A new pet owner! This was gonna be fun! The other mouse, the one with the chubby head, wasn't so enthralled, however. He marched over to his cockney accented friend, proceeding to bop him on the head.
" pinky! You imbecile! That little girl is going to make our lives hell! Just like Elmyra!" He said to his companion named pinky.
"But Brain, look at her! She looks nothing like Elmyra. She's still staring at us, she looks scared. Don't judge a book by its cover, Brain!" Pinky scolded Brain. Brain folded his arms, scowling. "This is not the time for morals, pinky! This is the time we run! "He said, unlocking the cage door. But before he could even step out, the girl put her hand out to stop him. Pinky gently push them forward. "Come on, Brain. The little girl wants to hold you... She's not grabby grabby like Elmyra, she is waiting for us to walk on to her hand."
"Hello, little mice... don't be afraid... I'm not gonna hurt you." Sparkle whispered gently. Gently coaxing them onto her hand, the mice made it onto her hand, and she lifted them up so she could look at them. The mice looked so scared, or at least one of them did. Sparkle put the taller mouse down, only just holding the chubby mouse. "Don't be scared... I'm not going to hurt you, I'm nice, I promise. Were your other owners not nice, and that's why you're scared? "Sparkle could've sworn she saw the chubby mouse nod. Sparkle stroked the chubby mouse gently, wiping away its Mouse sized tears.
"Don't cry... Don't cry... It's okay... I'm a nice girl... if you already had owners, did they give you a name? And your friend too?"
Brain nodded. He was beginning to trust this girl. She was calm, and like pinky said, she didn't take them out of the cage by her own accord, she waited for him to unlock the cage, and with help from pinky, and her coaxing, he was in her little hands, being stroked and loved " I'm Brain." Brain spoke quietly, he didn't feel comfortable to go shouting and booming, ordering people around just yet. The girl gasped. "You can talk? "She asked quietly. Brain nodded. " yes. We are genetically altered mice, with human features, such as the ability to talk and have humans understand us." Brain said to the little girl, who was following along quite happily. "I've always wanted to talk to animals! I get so lonely... No one understands me. They think I'm crazy." The girl replied, tears brimming the corners of her eyes. " The whole world hates me. "She replied, now full on sobbing.
The world? Did this little girl have world domination plans too?! This was excellent! If Brain's assumption was correct, he could use this little girl to help him fulfil his conquest to take over the world! Brain looked at the little girl, waiting for her sobbing to subside. "The World doesn't believe that I can do anything... They think because I'm like this, in a wheelchair, and can't walk, that I can't do anything! "The girl sobbed. Okay... So it wasn't exactly world domination, but this little girl, which Brain had just found out had a disability, wanted to prove something to the world. It wasn't domination exactly, but close.
The little girl put him on her shoulder, snuggling him gently. Brain presumed, that this little girl's parents had gotten him and pinky as comfort animals for the little girl, and honestly he couldn't blame them. The little girl expressed how she was lonely, and if he pieced two and two together, he presumed that the little girl's parents were often too busy to spend time with their daughter, so as a alternate solution to cure her loneliness, they got him and pinky.
Pinky clambered up to the little girl's other shoulder, snuggling in. "It's okay little girl... Brain and I will make you better...Narf!" Pinky said, noticing the girl start to laugh when he said narf. She smiled, and looked over to him, as he smiled back at her. "I'm pinky! Troz!" The girl laughed at his funny noise, which made pinky laugh too.
"I'm sparkle. Nice to meet you Brain and pinky." Sparkle said. Pinky liked that name, it was cute.
Brain liked it too. Although, he wasn't going to admit it.
"So, sparkle. The world hates you?" Brain asked. Sparkle giggled a cute little giggle, something he found quite adorable, but again, he wouldn't admit it. "Kind of." She confessed. "The world doesn't believe that people with disabilities can do much, they think we are mindless, and don't know what the world is actually like. When actually no, we're not mindless. We are just physically and mentally different, we are humans too, we have feelings and thoughts that we love to share but the world doesn't believe that. So I don't want to harm the world, I want to make the world better. "She said, and pinky was crying. Brain, although he wouldn't like to admit it, had a few tears of his own. " my grandfather still needs me to believe, I have to make him proud. "Pinky put his cute little hand on hers. "I'm sure you will. "He said. Brain nodded. " yes, sparkle, I'm sure you'll make your grandfather proud. "He replied, going over and nuzzling his nose against hers.
"My grandfather was the king of the believers, a group of people that believed we could do anything, no matter what. But a couple weeks ago... He... passed away... And ever since then, my little light of hope has been slowly going out. I miss him so much. I am the Princess of the believers, and it's up to me and all of the rest of the believers to tell the reality crushers, or the non-believers to believe in us... But without grandpa... I don't think I can continue to be the princess anymore. "She said, tiering up. Brain knew that the king of the believers was actually a metaphor, it was a metaphor for the people that believed in sparkle and everyone else. The reality crushers, or the non-believers, were a metaphor for the rest of society that didn't believe that sparkle and other people with limitations, or without, could do anything. Brain presumed, sparkle's grandfather was the first and only person to believe in her, therefore crowning him the king of the believers.
Brain was brought out of his thoughts by a beautiful xylophone playing, he looked over and saw sparkle playing the xylophone in a cute little melody, with pinky at one end, gently swaying back and forth in time with the xylophone. After a few more seconds of sparkle playing the xylophone with that cute little melody, she began singing.
"When you don't know where to go
And you're feeling all alone
Look inside yourself
You're so much more than you know
When you're stuck and out of time
You can cross the finish line
You're the champion
You'll always be a winner
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, whoa
You can do anything you want
If you believe in who you are
You'll light up the whole world
You're shine so bight
Anything is possible
When you look into your heart
Oh, oh, oh, oh
You're a shooting star..."
Sparkle Sang. Brain and pinky both clapped. She hasn't sung that song in awhile, she felt like she needed to, to remind herself that her grandfather always told her. "You sounded beautiful.." Brain whispered in awe at how beautiful she sounded. Pinky nodded, speechless. Sparkle giggled that cute giggle again. "Thanks! My grandfather sang it to me when I was Younger. I always sing it to myself when I miss him..." she said, clearly missing him now.
A couple hours later sparkle's parents came in, they smiled seeing their little girl happy for the first time in a long time. "Hi Mom, hi Dad. Meet my new friends! Pinky and The Brain!" She introduced. Her parents smiled, waving their hands towards the little mice. Because they didn't want to give away their secret that they could talk, both mice squeaked as though they were completely mindless animals. To make the act even more believable, Brain, the one sparkle was holding when her parents walked in, got up on his hind legs and kissed her nose, squeaking, which, to her parents, sounded like he was saying I love you. Which in his actual functioning mind, he did love her, even if he didn't say it out loud. Her parents smiled, giving her a hug and a kiss. "I knew you'd like them dear! We are glad you love them. "Her mother said, her dad nodded and they walked out the room.
"They're gone now." Sparkle said, both her lovable mice went back to their usual human statchers. Brain still on her hand, and pinky standing on her shoulder. "Thank you. Brain." She said, giving him an affectionate nuzzle. Which Brain loved, he nuzzled her back just as affectionately. "I never knew you were the affectionate type, Brain." Sparkle said nuzzling him again. "I've always wanted this type of affection from humans, where we used to live, we would always get thrown in the freezer or the toilet, never gentle nuzzles like this." Brain said, on the verge of literal tears. Sparkle kissed his head, cradling him in her arms, he looks like a tiny little doll in her arms. "You can have all the love you want, I'm gonna love you until my lungs give out. Always... Just like grandpa did for me... "She said, kissing his head again.
Brain had a soft side? Since when? It didn't matter right now, but sparkle was worried for both of her mice. Why was Brain on a literal verge of tears when he said that they never got nuzzles. Had their previous pet owner not loved them? Has she traumatised them both so much, that when she introduced herself to them, the chubby mouse was shaking? Brain didn't look like the type of person to like affection that much, but he instantly took to sparkle. Maybe she reminded him of someone, someone before the genetics altered him. She would have to ask him.
Right now, she cradled both of them in her arms. They were keeping her safe, keeping her mind somewhat positive after the heartbreaking news of the loss of her grandfather. She sorted out some kind of box for them, she wasn't going to allow them to sleep in the cage, they were humans too, mice with human features. She finally seeked out a box for them, putting some old clothes that were not fitting any more into it to make it nice and comfortable for them. She asked her parents to fill them up a water bowl, and give them some food pellets that they got given from the pet store. She found tiny tiny little pillows for them, and put one on each side of the box. She placed them inside, the both of them snuggling together closely. "I love you too. "She said, leaning into the box and giving them a kiss on each of their heads. "Good night. Brain. Sweet dreams. Pinky. I love you... "She whispers, sitting back and watching her little mice sleep, cuddled up together sharing one pillow, pinky's Little arm wrapped around his best friend's, as he snored saying his usual Narf in between snores.
