A/N

Heya! This is my first fanfiction, so please don't expect that much work; also I'm not completely familiar whit English, so don't be too harsh if I make an error here and there, that being said don't hesitate to comment on my story! Every critic is welcome and the story can actually change based on reviews and suggestions! This chapter will be just to introduce my avatar and as a prologue, so sorry if it's a little bit short or uneventful.

CIP: Congenital insensitivity to pain, rings a bell? Probably not right? Well, this is an acronym I came to understand fully...

Heya nice to meetcha, my name is Mat or as my classmates like to call me... the punchbag. I'm 18 years old black hair, brown eyes pretty basic I know but I have something that is both a blessing and a curse: I don't feel pain.

Apparently, it's a very rare state in which people die young but that's not my case: I had medical assistance for four or five years when I was young, and let me tell you it's not easy living with this kind of thing. Now you may be wondering "But Mat, how can not feeling pain be bad?" well it isn't, sort of. Let me explain:

Not feeling pain is actually dope for some scenarios like when people bully you because you're a shut-in anime-lover or when you fall and hurt yourself but... you have to put 100 times more care into your body: I could literally be dying and I wouldn't notice, that's what I mean.

Now you may be wondering, "How does it feel when you hurt yourself?" Or "Do you not feel anything?" Well if I do get hurt what I experience isn't that complicated, it's like; if I'm being stubbed I'll notice that something is entering my skin but I'll just feel some pressure, no pain. You have to learn what you can, you should, and you shouldn't do with your body, and oh boy was it hard.

But I'm here now, a pretty well-built teenager/adult at his 18th birthday with his two best friends enjoying life as it comes. We're at my house, my parents aren't around tonight for business so we have free reign.

"I shit you not Mat,*Hic* Jake tried asking out Lucy, and she literally laughed at him can you believe it?" exclaims Kyle clearly high from all the alcohol we're drinking.

"Seriously *Hic*, that bitch? She ain't even that pretty! Leo, Kyle *Hic* tomorrow we going to cheer up that idiot for his own good!"

Jake, Leonard, and Kyle are like brothers to me, they were and still are my first and only friends in high school so seeing one of them hurting it's really unacceptable. Sadly, Jake, today hasn't come to the party probably too shaken from Lucy's rejection.

"YOU BET WE WILL!" They both exclaim with red faces.

"Damn this party was lit *Hic* thanks for tagging with a freak like me you dickheads" I refer to the alcohol steaming pair in front of me whit a smile "Without you three who knows how *Hic* what would I've been doing by now".

"Probably crying out things like *Hic* WA WA WA I have no friends" Kyle jokes, "Agreed *Hic*" Leo Adds.

"I take it all back *Hic*," I say with a dejected expression.

After a while, it's midnight so it's time to wrap it up, I call out the drunk duo.

"Yo, you two can sleep in the guests room I'm not leaving you to drive in that state," I say, alcohol's effect drawing off.

"Dope," they say, before going in them.

I sigh, pick myself together and walk to my room only to fall face flat on my bed and letting my thoughts wander; after a while, I finally drift off to the dream realm.

...

...

When I wake up I feel strange: my bed feels like cold concrete and a gentle breeze is catchable in the air; Slowly coming to my senses I can hear numerous voices I don't recognize coming from somewhere. I must have slept a lot because even though I haven't opened my eyes yet I can feel a glimpse of the sun caressing the-WAIT WHAT? I DON'T HAVE WINDOWS IN MY ROOM!

My eyes jolt open to reveal that I am indeed laid on a cold concrete of an alleyway I don't recognize at all.

"What... the... HELL?!".
