After reading a lot of Marauder FanFiction lately I was inspired. I have been working on a few oneshots, centered around Sirius and Remus. I do hope you enjoy, please review.

Thanks

Sunlight came pouring through the window, reflecting off the long bed curtains and casting a beautiful red hue around the circular room of the boys dorm in Gryffindor tower.

Sirius lay listening to his fellow classmates' snores and sleepy breathing. It was early, far too early to even consider getting up yet. He lay idly staring at the ceiling as his mind drifted to the reason he was awake so soon: the nightmare.

You filthy blood-traitor! Disrespecting your own family and turning your back on us! How dare you disgrace the Black family name!

Sirius let out an involuntary shudder as the image of his father standing over him with a raised hand flashed into the forefront of his mind. Despite having the use of a wand, his father often resorted to a hard smack. It was better than a belt. It was much better than the cruciatus curse.

Shaking his head, Sirius raised himself off the bed and made his way heavily to the water bowl near the window. He cupped a handful of the cooling liquid and splashed it across his face, breathing deeply. He had to get these images out of his head before he finally lost the plot.

"Pads?"

Sirius jumped.

Turning back to face the room he noticed the pale face of Remus Lupin staring bleary-eyed at him across the room, poking out through his own curtains.

"Sorry Moony," Sirius whispered. "I didn't mean to wake you. Go back to sleep."

Sirius returned quickly to his own bed and pulled the covers right over his head, trying to shut his mind as well as his eyes.

Suddenly, a warm presence joined him; an arm snaked around his waist, warm breath on the back of his neck. Sirius froze.

"It's ok Sirius," Remus' voice was full of gentle reassurance. "You can go back to sleep now. I'm here if there are any more nightmares."

Sirius sighed and allowed his muscles to begin to relax again as Remus pulled him close and nestled his nose into Sirius' hair.

It was almost worth it, Sirius thought to himself. Being here like this with Remus was almost worth the nightmares.
