The group stood outside a random weapon store in the middle of Atlas, late at night only illuminated by the a street lamp and the light of the fractured moon. The silence between the four men was deafening when the tallest of them spoke "Lets go". The men entered the store ignoring the sign that read 'Closed', and the shorter rather round member of the team pulled out a small handgun and bashed the end of the handle on the glass display of dust shattering it. The men then broke off and started looting the store. So far the plan was going according to plan, they continued looting the dust and ammunition, and when they were about to leave they heard a sound near the front of the store. The tallest man slowly walked over to see a a person in a white cloak and hood standing behind the employee counter facing the other direction unaware of the robbery currently taking place. 'Damn it now what' the man walked up the the counter hiding his gun behind his back. The person behind the counter was pulling ammo mags out of a box when they turned around to face the man they jumped a little in surprise. It was a girl possibly around sixteen years old, and taller than average with her standing around 5'9, with gunmetal silver eyes with red tufts of hair poking out of the hood obscuring the rest of her somewhat pale face. The girl took her hood down revealing that she was wearing headphones, as she took them off the man could her loud punk-rock blaring on the other end. Her hair was strange to the man it started a pretty snow white at the roots but at the tips it turned a bright crimson red 'Must be dyed' the man thought to himself'. She was rather beautiful, she had a small jagged scar prominently displayed on her right cheek bone under her eye. She was wearing a white cloak with a hood on her back, and a white fleece jacket with pink undershirt, blue jeans and white steel toed boots.

"I'm sorry sir but the store is closed" the girl stated with an apologetic tone, yet her voice was filled with confidence.

"I know it is," the man then pulled his hand gun out from behind his back and pointed it straight at her head "now hand over everything in that box." The duel hair girl showed no fear in her face and let a confident smile spread across her face.

"Oh I see this is a robbery." the girl stated matter of factly. The robber nodded in response, "Well you see my mom owns this store and I told her that I would close up shop, and I really don't want to piss her off, ya know." she joked letting out a small giggle.

Her giggle was interrupted by the sound of the hammer of a gun being cocked into place. "If you don't hand over that box then your mom will be planning your funeral" Anger was growing in the mans voice, and the girls attitude still showed no fear.

"Sorry but, no." the girl said with a joking voice

"Fine your funeral" the man said blankly as he pulled the trigger. When the smoke cleared a few seconds later the man was shocked to see that the bullet had hit the wall behind the girl and in place of the girl was a bunch of white rose petals. To say he was confused would be an understatement, but he couldn't think about it for long as he felt a sharp pain on the back of his head and the world went black.

The other three men were in shock that their friend had just shot someone, but were in even more shock that the person he shot disappeared in a cloud of rose petals only to reappear behind him and knock him out with a single punch. The short fat man panicked and began firing his gun in her general direction. He only fired a few rounds when she appeared in front of the man grabbing his gun and wrestling it out of his hand with ease. She pistol whipped the short man across the head knocking him out, and then turned toward the other two men "You two gonna give up easily or am I gonna have to knock you guys out too?" she asked the two men that were visibly scared.

The taller of the two men then pulled out a large combat knife and charged at the girl screaming at the top of his lungs. The cloaked girl stepped out of the charging man's way grabbing his arm and using his momentum flipped him on to the floor. As the dazed man staggered in an attempt to get up he was kicked in the face with a steel towed boot forcing him in an unconscious state. The girl then turned to face the final man who seemed to be some sort of snake faunas given his green scaly skin and snake like eyes. The snake man dropped to his knees and threw his hands up in a surrender. The white and red haired girl smirked at the man "Smart choice pal." she said to the man, as she pulled out her scroll and after pressing a few buttons she held the device up to her ear. The man could not hear the other person on the phone but he knew who she had called after a few seconds she responded to the person on the other end "Yeah I would like to report an attempted robbery." 'God damn it'.

The Atlas police showed up a few minutes later and took the men into custody and began to question the white and red haired teenager that had held them off single handedly. They took her report in the stores back room. The room was a little small with only one desk meant for weapon modification and the walls were lined with shelfs containing ammo, weapon parts, random types of dust, and tools. The girl was sitting at the desk and had pulled up a chair for the officer that would be taking her testimony of the events that had just taken place. The officer was a rather large man standing nearly 6 feet tall and a bit overweight, he had dark bags under his eyes and was unshaven. He spoke in a tired voice as he took a sip from a coffee cup "So kid what's your name?".

"Full name I assume?" she said with a sigh. The tired officer nodded in response. With another sigh she stated her name, "Amber-Mei Luna Schnee-Rose.".

The officer let out a small laugh "Were did your parents come up with that?" he joked.

"Hell if I know"

The officer let out another short laugh at her joke and began to question her again, "So were does a little girl like you learn to do take down four skilled criminals that we have been chasing for the past six months?"

Amber looking a little offended began to answer "Well I'm a student at Kronos Academy, and I wouldn't call those guys skilled in anything they probably just had a lucky streak going there."

"So your training to become a huntress? Following in your mothers footsteps huh?" the officer asked blankly. Amber gave an energetic nod. "Well Miss. Schnee-Rose as far as i can tell this is just a case of self defense and all I need is some proof that you are a student at the Academy so those guys can't sue you for their injury's, and you can be on your way." He said with a yawn.

"Okay then," she said as she then grabbed a backpack from under the desk and began fishing through the pockets until she pulled out an ID card and handed it to the man "its my student ID card.". The officer took the card examining it briefly before handing it back to her.

"Well we can take care of the rest from here, would you like a ride back home Miss Schnee-Rose?"

"Yes please, and I prefer to just go by Rose for my last name."

"Well then please come with me Ms. Rose" He said standing and motioned to the door.

"Lead the way officer...?"

"Gordon."

"Lead the way Officer Gordon."

As the newly dubbed Officer Gordon lead her to his police cruiser, she noticed the news crews that had formed around the police tape that closed off the street. When they reached the car she got in the front passenger seat and they began the drive back to Ambers home. The drive wasn't that long only taking a little under twenty minutes. When they arrived Amber got out of the car, thanked the officer and watched as he drove away. Amber then walked up the stairs to the front door of the Schnee-Rose Mansion, the family crest of a rose surrounded by a snowflake decorated the front door. When Amber opened the door she was greeted by one of the family's maids and a good friend of hers, Dinha. "Amber! Your back earlier then I thought your parents are in the lounge watching the news with your sisters." she quickly informed her sounding both surprised and worried.

"Thanks Dinha I'll talk to you later I have to deal with this first." she told her friend as she began to walk up the stairs and making a left turn down a hallway that lead straight to the lounge in question. when she reached the end of the hallway she reached a large double door that was wide open allowing her to see her parents and two sisters sitting on the large couch watching a news broadcast about the robbery she stopped nearly an hour ago. She couldn't see their faces but she knew they were worried. She grabbed the TV remote off a side table near the door and turned off the TV, causing all of them to turn around to face her. "Miss me?" She joked with a joking smile.

She couldn't enjoy the moment long as she was tackled in a hug by her formal and very emotional white haired mother, Weiss. "Damnit Amber what were you thinking taking those guys on I have been terrified for the last hour now!" The CEO of the SDC was talking so fast it was hard to understand her, but her worry and concern was clear to all present. She was normally very level headed and logical, but when it came to her family especially her children she could rather emotional.

"Weiss let her breath she just got back you don't want to strangle her after all this." Her other mom Ruby broke in trying to calm her wife. Amber somehow managing to get out of her mothers vice like grip on her also tried to calm her, "I fine mom they only had low caliber bullets and with my aura the worst that could have happened is a hole in my clothes." she then gave her mother a reassuring smile. Weiss then backed up from her daughter examining her clothing trying to determine if she had indeed been shot.

"The Report said that one of the guys fired ten bullets that's nearly his entire magazine there is no was you did not get shot" interjected Ambers little sister Willow. She was only a year younger than Amber and looked almost exactly like Ruby did when she was her age. The only difference was that Willow was about an inch shorter and less pale. She also more a black cloak and over coat with a white undershirt, and with a black combat shirt with white sticking and black combat boots and white laces.

"The guy was a bad shot to begin with and when your scared you cant really aim, so he ended up missing me completely."

"A-HA" Weiss shouted at pointed at a small black hole in Ambers t-shirt. "You were shot!"

Amber just now noticing the hole looked down at felt at the hole in her shirt "Huh, what do you know, I was. Son of a bitch.".

Ruby then broke into the conversation to scold her daughter "Hey, watch it Amber."

"Sorry mom."

The Family went on with the conversation with Ruby expressing how proud she was of Amber, Weiss ranting about how she was worried sick, Willow asking all sorts of questions about how she took the four thugs down, but it was Ambers older sister Summer that seemed almost disappointed in her "Honestly Amber, you are still a huntress in training and you take on four ARMED thugs all by your self! You could have been killed!" Summer had always been protective of her little sisters and she had full right to considering the family's dark history she was very vocal about Amber joining Kronos Academy, but she knew that Amber was impossible to reason with when she made a decision after all the only one that could reason with Amber was Amber herself. Well Amber and...their sister.

Amber opened her mouth to protest when the maid Dinha entered the room and looked at Weiss as she spoke "Um, excuse me Mrs. Schnee-Rose? Your sister Winter is here to see you and she brought someone with her."

"Why is my sister here?". Weiss asked the maid a bit confused.

"I'm sorry I don't know she just said that she wants to speak to you Ruby and Amber."

The three mentioned by Dinha looked at each other in confusion but they all had a suspicion that it had something to do with tonight's events. They moved out of the room and down the hallway into the entrance hall of the mansion to see Winter and a shorter man younger than Ruby with brown hair and a cane. "Why the fuck is he here." Ruby mumbled under her breath.

"Ah Weiss its so good to see you, You as well Ruby" Winter greeted with a smile.

"Hey Winter its been a while" Ruby greeted in return as the trio walked down the stairs.

"Its has been a while." Winter returned as she hugged her sister "How are you Amber? Are you alright?". Winter asked her niece placing her hand on Ambers shoulder with some concern in her voice.

"Fit as a fiddle Aunt Winter." Amber said bouncing on her heels. She looked back at the man she came with, he was a little shorter than her aunt and had vibrant hazel eyes and short dark brown hair, and freckles that decorated his face. He was wearing a dark green button up overcoat with a black under shirt underneath and dark green pants. The strangest part about him was that he look younger than her parents but had a cane in his hands.

The mystery man then stepped forward and spoke with a confidant voice, "Its great to see you Weiss, Ruby, and you must be Amber you look so much like your parents.". 'He seems nice enough' Amber thought to herself.

"Wish I could say the same to you Oscar" Ruby said her voice filled with anger that she was trying unsuccessfully to hide.

Weiss then grabbing her wife by the shoulder and whispered in her ear "Ruby I don't think now is the time for this.".

"Fine. Lets just get this over with."

Oscar than began to speak "Me and Winter have been impressed with your daughters progress at Kronos Academy, and in stopping the four robbers earlier tonight and we have come to make an offer for her."

Amber then stepped forward and interjected "Wait what kind of offer?".

"Well I have been the headmaster of Atlas Academy for several years now and Oscar has been the headmaster of Beacon for even longer and Amber has all the required credits in her main courses and experience in combat to be eligible for one of the Four main academy's." Winter began to inform the three present.

"Wait hold on are saying that you want me to skip my last year at Kronos and go to Beacon or Atlas?" Amber quickly interjected trying and failing to hide the excitement in her voice.

Her aunt sighed and cut to the chase "Yes Amber that is what we were saying."

To say that Ruby and Weiss were shocked would be an understatement. They knew that Amber was a great student some might even call a prodigy, but to be accepted into one of the four great academy's a year in advance was unbelievable even for Ruby who was allowed in two years in advance by headmaster Ozpin. They weren't able to fully comprehend what was happening, before Oscar handed them a small stack of papers, "All you have to do is sign these and send them the the Academy you wish for her to attend at least one month before the school year starts.". With that he turned around and left with no another word.

"I suppose I should get going as well, it was great to see you two again good night." Winter said to them both as she too made her leave.

The three of them stood in silence for a minute before Amber spoke up "Well that just happened" she said to no one in particular as she turned to face her parents and their shocked and confused faces. "So your immediate reaction to letting me go to Beacon a year in advance?" Amber asked optimistically her voice laced with excitement

"I-I don't know I mean its an important decision to make a-and." Weiss then started run through her mind trying to find an answer to her daughter's question.

"Well I don't see why not personally. I mean, I started Beacon two years early and sure I had to take some special classes to make up for what I missed, but I had you, Blake, and Yang to help me out and I turned out just fine.

"I guess you have a point." Weiss said quietly. After thinking to herself for a few minutes she looked up and smiled at her wife and daughter "Well then why not."

The excitement on Amber's face couldn't be contained anymore at she smiled bright enough to light up the sky and cheered, but her celebration was interrupted by someone groaning right next to them. Willow then materialized out of thin air as black rose petals fell of her body, "You mean that I still have wait another two years to go to Beacon!" she half yelled out of annoyance.

"Willow what did we say about turning invisible in the house." Weiss scolded her for breaking what she considered a simple rule of 'no semblances in the house'.

"I was curious its not every day the aunt Winter shows up, and Dinha said she was with someone and I had to know." she tried to explain herself. Weiss sighed to herself she really couldn't blame her it wasn't often that her sister would drop by so unannounced.

"Its late we should all be heading to bed I'm exhausted." She said to the small group as Summer came down the stairs into the entrance hall.

"What happened why did aunt Winter come by, who was she with?" Summer asked those present

"Tell 'ya in the morning okay big 'sis" Amber joked lightly punching her big sister in the arm as she headed back up the stairs towards her room to shower and go to sleep.

During her shower all Amber could think about was her up coming time at Beacon Academy the best in the whole world. Her parents told them so many stories about their time at beacon, from how they met in a large fire dust explosion, a common theme in their relationship she mused. The Battle of Beacon were her Aunt Yang lost her arm. A fight with black fang. And so many other stories that some of them blended together in Ambers head. One thing Amber stood out in Ambers head was the Beacon entrance exam; the recovery of relics in the middle of a grim invested forest. It was the exam that her parents went through and from what Summer had told her it hasn't changed. It shouldn't be that hard for her she had plenty of combat experience with grim and humans.

When she was done with her shower she got changed into her night clothes of a thin white t-shirt and pink and white checkered pants. she was walking down the hall when she passed a small tables adorned a fancy table cloth and several types of different colored roses, in the center of the table was a photo of a little girl that looked nearly exactly like Amber if it wasn't for her hair that is. While Ambers hair started white and faded into a bright red at the tips as it grew, the girl in the photo's hair started a darkened red to the point it looked black but it lightened in the middle and turned the same snow white as Ambers hair at the tips.

"Guess what 'sis I'm being let in to Beacon a year in advance."
