Chapter 1: Not Knowing.
Fraternities and sororities or Greek-letter organizations, also collectively referred to as "Greek Life" are social organizations at colleges and universities in North America. A form of the social fraternity, they are prominent in the United States, Canada and the Philippines. Similar organizations exist in other countries as well, including Germany, Poland and Italy.
The proposal to have such an organization was put forward by Neo Tokyo University of Japan. The necessary paperwork and construction were finished at record time with the help of modern technology and magic and in the middle of his second year, Hachiman Hikigaya found himself forced to be a member of the newly inaugurated, Psi Chi Tau Mu.
The place was almost a mansion, three storeys tall, with twenty-five rooms and the guys who got picked to live here, lived like kings, having their own respective bedrooms, without the need to share with pesky little roommates, large bathrooms with bathtubs and showers, a fully equipped kitchen and a well stocked bar and even a game room with a pool table and arcade style video game machines.
Life was a dream.
Or it should be.
"Hand me a cigarette." Hachiman Hikigaya said.
Soul Evans grunted, but complied. "So you're the type of guy who smokes after having sex." He let out a thin trail of smoke from his own lit cigarette. "I wouldn't have figured."
"I can't believe you slept with her." Raku Ichijou piped up. "You two don't even get along."
"Don't be an idiot, beans sprout." Edward Elric snapped. "Sex is a result of lust, it's nothing more than a chemical reaction, a result of hormones getting freaky."
Soul chuckled "I bet someone had their freak on."
Hachiman coughed. "Puns are not cool, Evans."
"Excuse me, but who did Hikigaya sleep with and why is it a big deal?"
All eyes on the table turned towards the voice on the other side of the room. The man was famous throughout the campus. He had messy black hair and green eyes. He was the boy turned man who lived, Harry Potter.
"I forget that you are new." Edward Elric said. He jerked a thumb towards the rotten dead fish eyed loner. "Hikigaya over here slept with a woman named Minami Sagami." He smirked. "Those two don't get along rather famously."
"I think it should be infamously." Raku Ichijou said.
"Nobody cares, Ichijou." Hachiman said. He then looked at the other guys in the living room. "I don't see how that is anyone's business but mines and hers. You guys butt out."
"No can do boss man." Soul Evans added with a smirk.
"Oh, is that what we are calling him now." Harry Potter asked, curious. "I thought we were calling him, Faux Hitler."
"Can't do that now." Edward Elric added. "He got laid."
"You would know that wouldn't you, Herr Edward." Soul Evans said on purpose.
Edward Elric glared. "For the last time, I'm from Resembool in Amestris."
"You know I heard Hitler was Austrian." Raku Ichijou piped up.
"Congratulations." Hachiman bit back sarcastically.
Harry Potter decided to play peace maker. "Guys, guys, can we focus on what's important. Hikigaya here slept with a girl he hates." He had a confused look on his face. "What happens now?"
"Where is she now exactly?" Soul Evans asked.
"In my bedroom, where else genius?" Hachiman replied.
"Hey no need to get aggressive, pal." Soul Evans snapped. "Geez and here I thought getting laid will help you take out that stick from deep within your ass."
Hachiman smirked, smug. "I wasn't the one with something up my ass a few hours ago."
"I don't need that mental image in my head." Edward Elric said with a disgusted looking face. The others had similar reactions. Except for one individual, who was as clueless as ever. But the older Elric brother would be damned if he ended up explaining this to him.
Edward looked at Harry. "Hey Chose One, I think Raku here needs an explanation."
Harry Potter's green eyes widened. He looked at Edward, then at Raku Ichijou who had a dumb expression on his face. "You can't be serious."
"What are you guys talking about?" Raku Ichijou asked, clueless.
"It's nothing, Ichijou." Hachiman said stubbing out his cigarette. "The guys were just talking about my mean, anal streak."
"Dude!"
Soul Evans, Edward Elric and Harry Potter exclaimed in unison. However Raku Ichijou, bless his innocent soul remained clueless as ever.
"What?" Raku Ichijou.
Hachiman left the other three to their devices.
Soul Evans was the first to break the silence. "Bro, you can't be that dumb."
"He even said the word anal." Edward Elric mumbled.
"Yeah, and I can tell he meant it. And it's the truth." Raku Ichijou explained. "Hikigaya can be pretty anal about some weird stuff, like parties and celebrations for example. That's why we started calling him Faux Hitler, remember."
Harry Potter let out one word. "Wow."
Hachiman Hikigaya let out a dry chuckle.
Soul Evans suffered from second hand embarrassment and grabbed hold of Raku Ichijou's shoulders and shook him violently. "He is talking about anal sex you idiot! Hikigaya over here fucked Minami Sagami in the ass."
"Don't forget to add the word literally, Soul." Edward Elric added quickly.
This time Raku Ichijou got it. He let out a silent "Oh" and flushed. Then to save face he started making some sort of stupid explanation. "I knew what he was talking about. I was just playing dumb on purpose."
"Well let me tell you, you had us all fooled with your incredible acting." Hachiman Hikigaya said sarcastically as he made his way out of the room.
Harry Potter watched the temporary leader of the frat house leave the room and couldn't help but ask. "Where are you going mate?"
"Back to my room, where else, Potter." Hachiman said.
"Oh, going back for round two are ya?" Soul Evans added with a sleazy grin.
Hachiman Hikigaya didn't even dignify that particularly dumb comment with a fitting response. He slowly made his way up the stairs and into his room, where he found the red haired woman deep in slumber, the sheets he had pulled up to cover her naked body as he had slipped out of the room earlier, now lying halfway down, exposing her succulent breasts.
He shook his head and pulled up the covers once more while thinking she was a messy sleeper, if that was the right phrase to describe her messy sleeping habits. Having provided her with a modicum of modesty, he took a chair and sat down, near her side of the bed as he continued to watch her beautiful face devoid of the usual frowns and glares, the signs of hatred which she displayed when dealing with him. Those were all absent. Instead what he found was something close to be described as peaceful and serene, words he never thought he would use to describe her features even if they ended up having sex a few hours before.
"Hate you."
Ah, he hadn't expected this, but he wasn't surprised by it either. Minami Sagami talked in her sleep and it seemed like even in her sleep, she seemed to hate him. Was he really that much of a despicable guy, he wondered.
Because of Shizuka-sensei and few of the upper management whom he had somehow ended up impressing, he was made the temporary leader of this frat house, the first of its kind in the whole country and he didn't know what to do about it.
He wasn't the party loving guy, hell he wasn't even very social and from the looks of it, he wasn't very good when it came to making correct decisions as well. After all he had sex with a woman who supposedly hated him and there was no alcohol involved.
They had kissed, she had told him she hated him, told him between pants and moans that this doesn't change anything and he had kissed her back, told her likewise, that he understood, when he clearly didn't.
This was extremely out of character for him. He took off her clothes, took her to bed, had mind blowing sex in a couple of positions and then almost bragged about it down with the guys below while enjoying a smoke.
"Love you."
Hachiman blinked. He must have misheard it. He might have fallen asleep on the chair and dreamed it. But could it be. Did Minami Sagami just say the words 'love you' in her sleep. There's no way he could have said those words and meant it for him. Didn't she hate him and didn't he found her annoying and insufferable.
He wasn't like Raku Ichijou, naïve enough to think that sex would change the way two people thought about each other, especially when feelings of dislike and hatred were involved.
Then what?
Hachiman Hikigaya didn't know.
