Hello! This is an alternate ending to CACW. Warning: violence. (No cussing, profanity, or nonsense) there never will be. :)
Steve raises a shaking hand in a feeble attempt to block a blow to the chest. He barely bites back the cry of pain that threatens to come out. The second blow results in the sound of breaking bones echoing through the bunker. The third brings him to his knees. The hits continue, and he stops trying to hold back the cries and groans. It's all he can do to keep from blacking out. He curls into the fetal position, as merciless kicks bombard him.
"Stop!" A weak, hoarse voice breaks through the haze of pain.
"Please stop! You're killing him!"
"I killed your parents not him. It's me you want. Just stop. Please." Bucky. No, Buck. No!
Tony pauses, and crosses to him.
"You're right. You killed my parents, and you should die."
Steve rolls over to see Tony deliver a kick to his best friend's head.
It was his opportunity. He stumbled to his feet, and in one swift move, lunged for his shield, throwing it at Tony's armored head. Tony almost fell forward as the shield bounced off his head, and back into Steve's hand.
He stands in a defensive position his shield in one hand, the other cradling his stomach.
"Tony, don't do this."
"Yeah, I think I do. He killed my parents, and you knew about it. Now you're a criminal."
"I'm sorry."
"Its too late for sorry. It's over. I'm taking you in."
"I won't- I can't let you do that."
"Hard way it is." Tony raises his glowing palm, and Steve deflects the blast just in time. He grunts as it jars his broken ribs. Tony advances. He hits, and blasts, going on offense and defense to counter Steve's defense and offense. He sees Tony aim for his middle, and he raises his shield to deflect. Only it doesn't hit his shield. It hits his left leg, and he can feel the bone shatter. He gives a strangled cry of pain, and collapses. He can barely hear Bucky's cries of protest through the ringing in his ears. Black spots cloud his vision. He struggles to take a deep breath.
"Stay down, Steve. I win. It's over."
He hears Tony come closer. Backing away, at least trying to, he brings his hands up to shield his face.
"I'm taking you in, Cap." Tony raises his fist.
Steve closes his eyes. "I'm sorry." He whispers.
Tony's fist connects with his temple, and his world goes black.
