One summer morning, at the residence of the Miller family somewhere in the human realm, one certain member of the family was getting ready to start her day.
"Looks like it's time to get up", a voice said.
The voice belonged to Tracey, the daughter of the Miller family who had blonde hair with a pink streak in it, blue eyes, and tan skin that was produced by a tanning bed, and also bore a resemblance to Amity Blight.
"Okay", Tracey said, "let's see what we've got for me to wear today."
Tracey looked through her closet for an outfit she could wear, and eventually, she settled on a white and pink tie dye shirt, black leggings, pink socks, and black sneakers, and after getting dressed, she heard her phone buzz.
"Must be one of the girls texting me", Tracey said.
Tracey checked her phone, and sure enough, it was from Abby, a girl on the cheer squad with her, who texted her "Me and the girls are at the amusement park if you wanna join." to which Tracey responded "Sure, be there in a few."
"Better get going before they start having fun without me", Tracey said.
Tracey grabbed some money from a box she kept in a drawer on her nightstand and ran downstairs, where her Mom was in the kitchen.
"Morning, Mom", Tracey said.
"Good morning, Tracey", Mrs. Miller said, "what are you going to have for breakfast?"
"Just some toast", Tracey said, "I'm meeting my friends at the amusement park today."
"Okay", Mrs. Miller said, "have fun."
After eating her toast, Tracey left the house to meet up with her friends, and Mrs. Miller went back to doing what she was before, and when she noticed the date on a nearby calendar, a look of worry appeared on her face.
"Oh no", Mrs. Miller said, "it's happening tonight."
Tracey walked down the sidewalk into town, and soon, she arrived at the amusement park, where Abby, a girl with white skin, grayish-blue eyes, and light brown hair tied in a ponytail was waiting for her, along with two other girls on the cheer team, Maggie, an African-American girl with brown skin, brown eyes, and black hair in twin side buns, and Nicole, a girl with naturally tan skin, dark brown eyes, and brown hair in pigtails.
"Hey, girls", Tracey said.
"Tracey", Abby said, "glad you could make it."
"Hope I didn't keep you all waiting", Tracey said.
"Don't sweat it", Abby said, "we're all here now."
"We've been waiting all year for the park to open back up", Nicole said.
"And now that it is", Maggie said, "it's time to have some summertime fun."
"Music to my ears", Tracey said.
The four girls proceeded to spend the day visiting rides and attractions in the park such as the roller coaster, log flume, zipper ride, bumper cars, and haunted house, and after a while, all four were taking a break to eat some food that you'd likely find at a carnival or amusement park.
"Man", Tracey said, "I never knew you could deep fry a gummy bear."
"I'm warning you", Abby said, "you'd better not throw up on any rides."
"Likewise, to the girl eating fries covered with melted cheese and bacon", Tracey said.
Maggie stopped eating her deep fried Oreos for a second to respond to the two's comments.
"Girls, do either of you realize that all four of us are eating food that's potentially hazardous to our health", Maggie asked.
Nicole stopped eating her funnel cake to respond as well.
"She's right", Nicole said, "all four of us are likely to throw up."
The four cheerleaders all shared a laugh, and a tone went off on Abby's phone, prompting her to check and see what it was for.
"Huh", Abby said, "I completely forgot about that."
"What's up", Tracey asked.
"I just got a reminder on my phone for a party being held by Taylor Weismann tonight", Abby said.
"Taylor Weismann", Tracey asked, "isn't Taylor 17?"
"That's right", Abby said.
"Taylor's parties are legendary", Maggie said, "you'd have to have all the luck in the world to get invited to one of them if you're our age."
"That's right", Nicole said, "luckily, Abby here was able to get herself an invitation, and also got the okay to bring us as her guests."
"That's great", Tracey said, "what time is it?"
"8:00 tonight", Abby said, "it's being held by the lake."
"That sounds cool", Tracey said.
"Oh, it is", Abby said, "from what I've heard, there's going to be all sorts of snacks and activities for everyone to enjoy."
"And, best of all, there's going to be a blood moon tonight", Maggie said.
"A blood moon", Tracey asked.
"That's right", Abby said, "we're all going to bear witness to a sensation that doesn't happen very often."
"Wow", Tracey said, "this just keeps getting better and better."
"So what do you say", Abby asked, "you in?"
"Am I", Tracey asked, "you bet I am!"
"Great", Abby said, "let's meet up at the dead tree at 7:45, and we'll head on over together."
"Okay, I'll be there", Tracey said.
"Great", Abby said, "see you then."
"You too", Tracey said.
The four friends left the amusement park and went back to their respective homes, with Tracey feeling especially excited about the party.
"This is so exciting", Tracey said, "I'm going to party with a bunch of older kids, and I'm going to see a blood moon."
When she arrived at her house, Tracey went up to her room, still excited about going to the party.
"I can't believe I'm going to one of Taylor Weismann's parties tonight", Tracey said, "this could be big for me."
Then, she looked at herself in the mirror and took notice of her outfit.
"There is no way I can make myself look good in front of Taylor wearing this", Tracey said, "I need to find something else to wear."
Tracey spent what felt like all afternoon trying to find the perfect outfit to wear to Taylor's party, and after trying on all kinds of different outfits, she tried on a black, sleeveless dress, a silver sequin vest, and black ballet flats, and looked at herself in the mirror with satisfaction.
"Perfect", Tracey said.
She then went over to her makeup table to continue getting ready.
"I can tell already that this is going to be a night I'll never forget", Tracey said.
Later that evening, Tracey walked down the stairs so she could go and meet up with her friends.
"Bye, Mom", Tracey said, "I'll be back later tonight."
But before Tracey could open the door, her mother put her hand on her shoulder.
"And just where do you think you're going, young lady", Mrs. Miller asked.
"Just to a party", Tracey said, "don't worry, I'll be back before midnight."
"I don't think so", Mrs. Miller said, "you're not going anywhere tonight."
"What", Tracey asked, "why not?"
"It's not important", Mrs. Miller said, "what matters is, this is for your own good."
"What do you mean", Tracey asked.
"You may not understand it right now, but this is a matter of life or death", Mrs. Miller said.
"Life or death", Tracey asked, "Mom, I think you might be exaggerating just a little bit."
"I promise you, I am not exaggerating about this", Mrs. Miller said.
"Then why can't I go out tonight", Tracey asked.
"Because", Mrs. Miller said.
Mrs. Miller tried to come up with something else to say, but she wasn't sure what.
"Is it because the one hosting it is 17 years old", Tracey asked.
"Uh, yes, that's it", Mrs. Miller said, "I don't want you going to a party that's being held by someone in that kind of age range."
"But Mom", Tracey said.
"No buts", Mrs. Miller said, "you're not going to that party, and that's final."
Tracey could see that there wasn't much she could do, and sighed in defeat.
"One day, you'll understand", Mrs. Miller said, "now come on, let's get you to the room?"
"The room", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "it's right this way."
Mrs. Miller led Tracey into the garage and opened up the door to a safe room, which had a portable toilet and bed inside it.
"You'll be staying in here tonight", Mrs. Miller said, "don't worry, it's just for one night, and then you can go back to your old room."
"Mom, I know you weren't happy about me wanting to go to that party", Tracey said, "but this is cruel and unusual punishment."
"This isn't a punishment", Mrs. Miller said, "this is for the safety of you and those around you."
"Look, if you don't want me to go to the party, I'll stay at home", Tracey said, "but I don't see why I can't just sleep in my own bedroom."
"You need to sleep somewhere secure and protected tonight", Mrs. Miller said, "if you don't, then..."
But before she could finish, she hear a crashing noise coming from the front yard.
"Not the mailbox again", Mrs. Miller said, "I'll be right back."
Mrs. Miller went to go deal with the problem, leaving Tracey all by herself.
"There has to be a way to sneak away and get to the party", Tracey said, "but how?"
Tracey looked around for something that could help her, when she heard her mother returning.
"That's the third time this month someone's ran over our mailbox", Mrs. Miller said.
Tracey kept looking, and at last, she noticed some rocks in a wagon.
"Ah-ha", Tracey said.
Tracey picked up the stone and threw it at a window in the garage, causing it to break, which got Mrs. Miller's attention.
"Oh, now what", Mrs. Miller asked.
As Mrs. Miller went to investigate, Tracey stuffed the pillow under the covers of the bed inside the safe room to make it look like she was in it, and quickly ran out the garage door and down the sidewalk, and stopped when she felt like she was far enough away from her house.
"Finally", Tracey said, "I'd better hurry and meet up with the others before they decide to go without me."
Tracey made her way down the sidewalk and soon arrived at a dead tree by the corner of the street, where Abby, Maggie, and Nicole were waiting for her.
"There you are", Abby said, "you're late."
"Sorry", Tracey said, "had a little trouble with my Mom."
"Never mind that", Nicole said, "we should probably get going now."
"She's right", Abby said, "follow me."
Tracey followed her friends down the sidewalk, and as they walked along, Maggie decided to start a conversation about something she had learned.
"You know, there's an old legend I read about in a book once", Maggie said.
"What kind of legend", Tracey asked.
"It says that the affects of a blood moon can unlock the powers of humans who are really supernatural creatures", Maggie said, "you know, vampires, demons, all the usual ones."
"Supernatural creatures", Abby asked, "that's ridiculous."
"Yeah", Nicole said, "don't tell us you actually believe that."
"Well, there is a blood moon happening tonight", Maggie said, "there's no telling what'll happen."
"Honestly, Mags, you're as bad as Noceda", Tracey said.
"Girls, knock it off", Abby said, "we're here."
The four girls made their way towards a park that was located near a lake, where the party was pretty much in full swing.
"Here we are, girls", Abby said, "the promised land."
"Oh man, look at this place", Maggie said.
"It's even better than I imagined", Nicole said.
"Why don't we be impressed later", Tracey said, "right now, let's party!"
The others agreed with Tracey, and all four friends joined the party, taking part in activities like playing games, eating snacks, and gossiping with other guests, and after a while, Tracey walked over to Abby so she could talk to her.
"Hey, Abby", Tracey said, "do you know where Taylor is?"
"Getting some more snacks", Abby said.
"Oh, okay", Tracey said, "I just want to know so that when I do see Taylor, I'll be able to make a good first impression."
Then, the two looked at the sky and saw the moon, which had a faint red tint to it.
"The blood moon will be full soon", Abby said, "I can't wait to see it."
"Yeah", Tracey said, "me neither."
Then, she felt some kind of pain in her body.
"Are you okay, Tracey", Abby asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine", Tracey said, "maybe."
"Are you gonna be alright", Abby asked.
"Sure", Tracey said, "I'll just take some painkillers if it gets any worse."
"Alright", Abby said, "if you say so."
But little did Tracey know that no amount of painkillers would be able to relieve what she was feeling.
"Why am I suddenly feeling this", Tracey thought.
A little while later, everyone at the party was around a campfire roasting marshmallows and eating s'mores, and Tracey was with her friends.
"Abby told us you weren't looking too good", Maggie said, "are you feeling okay?"
"Girls, I'm fine", Tracey said, "it was probably nothing."
"Okay", Nicole said, "if you say so."
"Hey, everyone", a partygoer said, "the blood moon's full!"
Everyone looked in the sky and saw that the full moon shining a blood red color down on the ground.
"Oh, wow", Nicole said.
"It's spectacular", Maggie said.
"I've never seen anything like this before in my life", Abby said, "what do you think, Tracey?"
But there was no response.
"Tracey", Abby asked.
Abby looked around for her friend, and noticed Tracey knelt on the ground, groaning in pain, much to her concern.
"Oh no", Abby said, "Tracey!"
Abby ran over to her friend, and Maggie and Nicole joined her.
"What's wrong with Tracey", Maggie asked.
"I don't know", Abby said, "Tracey, what's happening?"
The three girls then heard the sound of bones cracking.
"W-what's happening", Nicole asked.
"Tracey", Abby asked.
Tracey turned to look at her friends, and to their horror, her teeth were sharper, and her pupils were now red.
"Holy cow", Abby said.
"What's happening to her", Nicole asked.
Maggie looked at the blood moon in the sky, and then looked back at Tracey, who now had ram-like horns growing out of her head, sharp claws in place of her fingernails, and black wings growing out of her back through a pair of holes that had been ripped in her dress.
"The legend is true", Maggie said, "the blood moon is awakening some kind of powers that have been hidden inside Tracey."
"What", Nicole asked.
"You mean that Tracey's actually some kind of supernatural creature", Abby asked.
"Yep", Maggie said, "and it looks like we're about to find out which one."
Everyone at the party was watching as Tracey went through her transformation, and once it was completed, her body was covered in black scales, her eyes were pure red, her hair had become white, and, most significantly, her legs had been replaced by a massive snake tail.
"Oh my God", Abby said.
"Tracey", Maggie asked, "are you..."
Tracey responded by striking Maggie aside with her claws, which left marks on her, and then she turned her attention to everyone else and began slithering towards them, causing everyone to panic and run for their lives as she began attacking members of the crowd.
"What do we do", Nicole asked.
"How should I know", Abby asked, "I've never had an encounter with a demon before."
"Okay, let's not panic", Nicole said, "once our chance comes, we'll make a break for the exit and..."
But before she could finish, Nicole was grabbed by Tracey.
"Nicole", Abby shouted.
Tracey wrapped her snake tail around Nicole, and then proceeded to squeeze the life out of her, similar to a boa constrictor, and then dislocated her jaw, put Nicole's head into her mouth, and swallowed her corpse whole in a similar fashion to an anaconda, much Abby's horror.
"That's it", Abby said, "I'm getting the hell out of here!"
Abby tried to run away, but she tripped on a rock and fell over, catching Tracey's attention, and the demon girl slithered over to the human girl and sunk her teeth into her right leg and swung her around, hitting her against a tree a few times, and then flung her over by the campfire, where she began slithering over to her to go in for the kill, but Tracey grabbed a stick from the campfire that had fire on the end of it and pointed it at Tracey, causing the latter to back away.
"Back", Abby said, "back, you vile beast!"
But once Tracey had backed far enough away, she swiped her hand, which created a gust of air that blue the flame out on Abby's stick.
"Uh-oh", Abby said.
Tracey began advancing towards Abby once again, but before she could finish her off, she felt something hit her in the neck, and then fell to the ground unconscious, much to Abby's surprise.
"What just happened", Abby asked, "wait a minute, who cases about that, I gotta get out of here before she wakes up!"
Abby got up and tried to leave, but her right leg was in serious pain from Tracey biting into it, and she couldn't walk or run away.
"Oh, my damn leg", Abby said.
Abby fell to the ground and lost consciousness, and Tracey slowly transformed back into her human form, and then, out of the bushes, came none other than Mrs. Miller, who walked over to her unconscious daughter and pulled a dart out of her neck that she had shot at her daughter using a blowpipe.
"I was afraid that something like this would happen", Mrs. Miller said, "and after I tried to prevent it."
Then, she heard the sounds of police sirens coming towards the park.
"Oh no", Mrs. Miller said, "I have to get Tracey out of here."
Mrs. Miller picked Tracey up and ran away with her before the police showed up, and a little while later, Tracey came to her senses and awoke on the couch in her house, where she found her mother looking at her.
"Mom, I just had the craziest dream", Tracey said, "I went to Taylor Weismann's party with my friends, and then I transformed into some kind of snake monster and attacked them, and..."
Tracey became worried when she saw the look her mother had on her face, and she removed the blanket that was covering her body, revealing the torn, tattered remains of her black dress.
"I-it was real", Tracey said.
Mrs. Miller could only nod her head yes.
"I hurt all those innocent people", Tracey said.
"Tracey, it's okay", Mrs. Miller said.
Mrs. Miller tried to hug her daughter, but Tracey rejected her.
"Don't touch me", Tracey said, "did you know about this?"
"Well", Mrs. Miller said, "I..."
"Tell me the truth", Tracey said, "now!"
"Alright, alright", Mrs. Miller said, "yes, I did know about this."
"You did", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "Tracey, you're half demon."
"What", Tracey asked, "you mean to say that all this time, I was never truly human?"
"No", Mrs. Miller said, "neither am I."
Mrs. Miller stood up from the couch, moved the coffee table out of the way, and transformed into a large, demonic creature that resembled a winged iguana, much to her daughter's shock.
"You're part demon too", Tracey asked.
Mrs. Miller transformed back into her human form.
"No, Tracey, I'm completely demon", Mrs. Miller said, "also, I'm not from this world."
"What are you talking about", Tracey asked.
"I come from the Demon Realm", Mrs. Miller said, "a world populated by magical creatures like witches, vampires, and demons, such as myself."
"You mean there's a completely separate world from ours", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "my family, the Lucifer family, was among the most powerful families in the Boiling Isles, which is where in the Demon Realm I'm from."
"So, why did you come here", Tracey asked.
"For my own protection", Mrs. Miller said, "your grandparents wanted to keep me safe from anyone who might try to hunt down and kill me, so they enlisted the help of a witch who possessed a portal to this realm and sent me here."
"And while you were here, you met my dad, got married, and had me and my brother", Tracey said.
"Precisely", Mrs. Miller said, "eventually, I learned that you had inherited from me and my family, and that you had demonic abilities as well."
"So you tried to prevent my powers from ever awakening", Tracey said.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "and after what happened tonight, my fears were confirmed."
"And it was all my fault", Tracey said, "I'm so sorry, Mom."
"No, I'm the one who should be sorry", Mrs. Miller said, "I should've told you about your heritage years ago, but instead, I kept you in the dark about it all this time."
"Mom, don't be so hard on yourself", Tracey said, "I might not have believed you."
"I suppose you're right", Mrs. Miller said, "but because the blood moon woke your demon powers up, you're in danger now."
"What do you mean", Tracey asked.
"Take a look", Mrs. Miller said.
Mrs. Miller pulled out her phone and showed Tracey various social media and news sites that featured pictures of her in her demon form, and also detailed the events that had taken place.
"Is that me", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "some members of the crowd must've taken those pictures as they were fleeing."
Tracey could still hardly believe that she had turned into a demon and attacked all those people.
"It's not safe for you here anymore", Mrs. Miller said, "if you're discovered, there's no telling what's going to happen to you."
"What are we gonna do about this", Tracey asked.
"There's only one solution", Mrs. Miller said, "go upstairs to your room and pack your bag."
"Pack", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "pack only essentials."
"But why", Tracey asked.
"I'll explain later", Mrs. Miller said, "right now, you have to pack."
"Okay, Mom", Tracey said.
Tracey went up to her room and packed a duffel bag with things like clothes and bathroom stuff, and she walked downstairs, where her mother was waiting for her.
"Well, I'm all packed up", Tracey said, "now what?"
"This", Mrs. Miller said.
Mrs. Miller opened up a box and pulled out a large, yellow, slit pupil eye.
"What's that", Tracey asked.
"The witch who helped me travel to this world gave this to me", Mrs. Miller said, "I was told that if I should ever have to return to the Boiling Isles, all I have to do is place it on any door I choose, and that door would lead to the Demon Realm."
"Really", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "unfortunately, it can only be used once, and when the door closes, there's no way back."
"So, once we get to the Demon Realm, there's no going back", Tracey asked.
"Not we", Mrs. Miller said, "you."
Tracey was surprised to hear this.
"Me", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "if you stay here, you're putting yourself in danger."
"But what about you", Tracey asked.
"I can't leave", Mrs. Miller said, "especially not with your brother at summer camp."
"But where will I go", Tracey asked.
"Search for Lord and Lady Lucifer, your grandparents", Mrs. Miller said, "I don't know if they're still alive or not, but most demons have long lifespans, so it's very possible that they're alive."
"Okay", Tracey said, "then what?"
"They should be able to help you master your powers", Mrs. Miller said, "that way, you should have more control over them."
"Alright", Tracey said, "but what about you?"
"What about me", Mrs. Miller asked.
"I can't just leave you, Mom", Tracey said, "I-I..."
At that moment, Tracey began crying, prompting Mrs. Miller to wrap her arms around her daughter in a comforting hug.
"It's going to be alright, Tracey", Mrs. Miller said, "but you have to understand that this is for your own safety."
"I know", Tracey said, "but will I ever see you again?"
"I'm sure that's a possibility", Mrs. Miller said, "maybe the same witch who helped send me here will be able to do the same with you."
"You really think so", Tracey asked.
"Yes", Mrs. Miller said, "but right now, you have to focus on getting control of your demon powers."
Mrs. Miller placed the eye on the door and opened it up, revealing a pathway to the Boiling Isles.
"This is your destination", Mrs. Miller said.
Tracey hugged her mom one last time.
"Goodbye, Mom", Tracey said.
Tracey walked through the door and looked at Mrs. Miller one last time before the latter shut the door, leaving Tracey on the Boiling Isles.
"So", Tracey said, "this is the Demon Realm."
Tracey looked out into the horizon, ready to begin her adventure in the Boiling Isles.
AN: Well, that about does it. I hope you all enjoyed this Owl House oneshot. I've got plans for Tracey in my Owl House universe, and I can't wait to put them in action. Of course, none of this would be possible without the consent of Mr. Hardcor3. Anyways, thanks for reading, and once again, I hope you enjoyed the story.
