Hey everyone! Here is a new fanfiction about a movie I watched a couple of years ago and the pandemic brought me back into it. Hopefully you will enjoy it.
Some important notes for you:
- Annabelle's family and friends will play a huge role in the first chapters. You will get to know her and her background.
- I don't know where this will lead me but I have already a few chapters written down.
- You can tell me your impressions about it anytime. I really appreciate all the reviews to improve my writing skills.
Annabelle Tillman and Simone Bradley had just gotten dressed. They both kissed each other just before the bedroom door opened. Mother Immaculata was standing right in front of them with a confused gaze and then, her eyes riveted towards her niece who was also the Poetry teacher in the establishment.
Simone bit her lip, but with confidence, Annabelle was the first one to speak. 'After I sang, I felt feverish, and Miss Bradley was kind enough to take care of me.' The soon-to-be 18 years old replied. 'I had nausea, so I wasn't ready to eat. Miss Bradley was checking out on me before heading downstairs.'
'Hopefully, you're feeling better, then. But next time you are sick, see the nurse, please.' Mother Immaculata said. 'Simone, I'm expecting to see you downstairs for breakfast soon.'
'I will follow you.'
Annabelle returned to her dorm and laid down on her bed while Simone left with Mother Immaculata. She was not over what happened last night in that room. It has been a romantic night. She hesitated to go into the shower because she still has Simone's smell on her. Finally, she picked up clean clothes and headed for the showers. She took a quick shower and dressed in jeans and a Madonna t-shirt. When Annabelle got back to the dorm, Collins, Catherine and Kristen were sitting in their respective bed.
'Where the heck were you?' Catherine asked.
Annabelle laughed nervously. 'I slept in the basement. I got so sick last night.'
'And Cat was convinced you were in Ms. Bradley's room.' Kristen declared, and the teenager began to laugh.
Annabelle remained ice after her friend's comment. The four girls chatted for a while until Annabelle grabbed her guitar under her bed, probably left there by Collins last night since Annabelle disappeared with Simone.
'You wanna play something?' Catherine Pegrum asked.
'Wanna hear anything?' Annabelle asked.
'Whatever you want.'
She's a good girl, loves her mama
Loves Jesus and America, too
She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Loves horses and her boyfriend, too
And it's a long day livin' in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy, 'cause I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart
And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'
All the vampires walkin' through the valley
Move west down Ventura Boulevard
Annabelle had chosen Free Fallin' by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but she was abruptly interrupted by Mother Immaculata and Sister Claire.
'Annabelle, you have a visitor.' Sister Claire declared.
'What?' She looked surprised.
'Come with us.'
Annabelle left her guitar on her bed and followed Sister Claire and Mother Immaculata. When she arrived downstairs, she was shocked to see her mother standing there with Simone Bradley.
'Mom?' Annabelle blurted. 'What are you doing here?'
'Hello, Annabelle.' She said firmly. 'I spoke with these women, and they approved my idea to take you out until tomorrow.'
Annabelle frowned. 'For what? You're taking me to a Charity gala event? No, thanks.'
'Your father wants to hold a small birthday party with your grandparents, my sister, and your cousins.' Senator Patricia Tillman declared. 'You're turning 18 on Tuesday. It's an important milestone.'
'Since when you care about my milestones?' Annabelle mocked. She saw the look on her mother's face. 'Mom, I'm kidding. Anyway, I'll come. It might be fun.'
'Your father invited your friend Jessica and her brother.'
Suddenly, Annabelle got excited. 'Let me fill a bag quickly. I'll come back.'
Annabelle ran upstairs while Senator Tillman stood in the hall with Simone Bradley, Mother Immaculata, and Sister Claire. She looked at them with a stern look.
'Is she causing you some trouble?' Patricia Tillman asked the three women.
'The adaptation was difficult, but her behavior greatly improved.' Mother Immaculata replied. 'She is an outstanding student. Very good grades in every class.'
'She has always been a good student, but she has always been a rebel.' Annabelle's mother said. 'I'm still hoping that she will choose the right path in life.'
Annabelle came back downstairs with her backpack. She looked at Sister Claire with a small grin.
'I did not forget my algebra homework. I promise that it will be completed by Monday morning.'
'I do not doubt that.'
Senator Tillman said goodbye to the three women. Annabelle looked at the three of them, and she directed her gaze to Simone Bradley.
'Have a nice weekend, Annabelle.' Simone Bradley said.
Annabelle turned her head and winked to make sure that no one could see her. 'You too, Ms. Bradley.'
Annabelle and her mother walked outside the boarding school, and they boarded in the limousine. The teenager was quiet while her mother stared at her.
'What?' Annabelle finally asked.
'You seem so different.' The elder declared.
'I'm the same. Maybe you've never paid attention to the person I am.'
Patricia Tillman didn't know what to say to her daughter's remark. The entire drive to their house in Santa Monica was silent. When Annabelle got home, she picked up her bag and walked quickly to the door. As she opened the door, she could see that her father had his arms wide open.
'Dad!' Annabelle screamed. 'I'm so happy to see you.'
'My big girl!' Richard Tillman said. 'You're beautiful.'
'I've missed you so much. You can't believe it.'
Annabelle has always been close to her father. Unfortunately, he was rarely home because he has a job for the US embassy in the Netherlands. She last saw him ten months ago, and she couldn't be happier to be around him. He was very different from her mother; he was funny, smart, and open-minded. Of course, he was sometimes very strict, though.
'Grandpa Douglas and Grandma Betty will be thrilled to see you! Let's go to the backyard.'
Her father's parents were her only grandparents alive. Her mother's parents had passed away a couple of years ago. Douglas and Betty Tillman were Catholics but somehow very progressive. They were the first ones to know about Annabelle's sexual orientation, and they supported her.
Annabelle sat down with them and her father. They bombed the young woman with lots of questions about her boarding school. Around an hour later, Senator Tillman's younger sister arrived with her daughter Emily and her son Brandon.
'Aunt Julia! Hi!' Annabelle declared. She didn't like her aunt very much. She was a pretentious woman with a narcissistic personality. 'Been a while.'
Annabelle hugged William and Hope, her twin cousins. They were 8 years old. 'It's weird to be reunited around everyone.'
'You must be thrilled that Tuesday, you will have a filled bank account.' Annabelle's aunt declared.
Annabelle looked quickly at her dad and grandparents. What a bad take from her aunt! It was true, indeed, but that was not the proper time to do it. Richard Tillman's brother had passed away from leukemia when Annabelle was 14 years old. As he had no children, he submitted his inheritance to his goddaughter. The day she would turn 18, Annabelle would have 4 million dollars available. The money would not erase the pain from the loss of her beloved uncle.
'You know Julia... There's much more than money in life.' Annabelle replied.
'Exactly, sweetheart.' Betty Tillman replied.
They all chatted together for a while. Annabelle's best friend arrived at the beginning of the afternoon with her big brother. They met when they both were in elementary school. She jumped into her friend's arm.
'Fuck! I'm so happy to see you, Jess.' Annabelle yelled. 'Hey Bryan, how is it going?'
Bryan Miller was 27 years old, but he was always with his sister. He was a gay boy who got along easily with Annabelle. Jessica had moved to his house when she got arrested with Annabelle a couple of months ago. They could not control her daughter's erratic behavior. Luckily, she was able to keep going to her public High School.
'I'm doing good, Anna.' Bryan declared. 'You are stunning.'
Richard Tillman walked to see the two guests who had just arrived. He shook hands with Bryan. 'Are you still into baseball? My dad and I are about to go inside to watch a little bit of the Dodgers match.'
'Of course, I am.' Bryan replied to him. 'Girls, I'll see you later. You must have a lot of things to say to each other.'
Annabelle and Jessica split from everyone, and they went to sit by the pool.
'So, are you still going out with Juan?' Annabelle asked.
'No, I don't think we were meant to be together.' Her friend declared. 'I'm better single. This upcoming summer will be incredible. Do you have anything planned? How's your school?'
'It's a religious school, so this is super strict.' Annabelle explained. 'I have nothing planned, but with my godfather's inheritance, I might move when I graduate. I won't be able to stay with my parents for more than a few days.'
Jessica laughed. 'And what about University?'
'Well, I got admitted at UCLA, but I also got acceptance letters from Julliard in New York and Havard. Advantages to be the daughter of Senator Tillman.'
Annabelle wanted to study Music, Arts, and Literature. She got admitted to three incredible Universities, but she had to make a choice, and it wouldn't be an easy one.
'I'm going to UCLA in Economics.' Jessica announced. 'If you pick UCLA, maybe we could move together but, I know that nothing holds you here since Madison moved to Europe with her family.'
'What if you're wrong?' Annabelle asked. 'I... God. Jess, I have something to tell you but promise me that you won't tell anyone, not even your brother.'
Jessica frowned. 'What's going on?'
'I'm into someone, but we could get in trouble. Especially her.' Annabelle explained. 'I can't tell you much right now, but I promise that you will be the first one to know.'
'You are scaring me.' Jessica sounded nervous.
'You don't have to worry, but I can't say anything more without her permission.'
'Are you secretly dating Angelina Jolie or what?' Jessica Miller cackled.
'She is definitely better than her. Better than anyone else.'
Later that evening, after dinner, Annabelle went into the basement to watch a movie with Jessica and Bryan. They chose Grease, which was Annabelle's favorite movie of all time. She was not paying attention to the television at all. She could not stop thinking about Simone. It was weird to be away from school and not being able to see her walking around. She was dying to call her, but she didn't have her phone number. It was ironic, wasn't it? They had spent a night together but, Annabelle could not contact her. When Annabelle went to fill her bag, she wrote her number on a piece of paper and threw it under Simone Bradley's bedroom door. She doubts that she would call her. The risk of getting caught by Mother Immaculata was too dangerous.
Annabelle closed the television. Bryan and Jessica looked at her. They seemed confused. Jessica untied her long black hair and looked at her best friend.
'Is everything fine?' She asked.
Annabelle shook her head. 'No, I miss her.'
'Who?' Bryan questioned as he didn't know anything about their conversation earlier.
'Annabelle's mysterious lover.' Jessica smirked.
'We need details, Anna.' Bryan declared. 'You know you can tell us everything.'
'She could get in trouble, guys.' Annabelle said. They looked at her, and she could see that they wanted to know so badly. 'She's my teacher.'
Bryan burst into laughter. 'My best friend called this morning, and she said that she slept with her student last night.' He could not stop laughing. 'Oh God, Annabelle...'
'What?' She frowned.
'You go at St. Theresa, right?' Jessica replied quickly.
'Yes, why?'
Bryan and Jessica looked at each other. 'Oh my god.' Bryan replied.
Simone Bradley laid in her bed the entire evening. She did not want to move from there. Annabelle's smell was all over the sheets, and she could not stop thinking about her. She knew the situation was unsafe, but she had to admit that she had a crush on Annabelle. She would give anything to have her by her side. It's not as if she was out of the school for eternity, but they had to be careful. Simone was also a little bit insecure. What if Annabelle just wanted a fling with a teacher? No, Annabelle was not like that. She couldn't remember the last time she had felt this way about someone.
Probably when she dated Amanda.
But Annabelle made her feel alive, made her feel herself for the first time in five years. She knew what happened the previous night was wrong, but it was not a mistake.
