Devil Kit padded across the camp, the scents of the fresh-kill pile making his mouth water. Devil Kit lowered his head, grabbing a warm mouse by the tail and walking to his mother.
"Hey momma, I got you a mouse!" Though he really did want this mouse for himself, he knew that his mother needed it more than he did.
"Why thank you, Devil Kit, but you seem very very hungry. Why don't we split it?" His mother offered with a warm smile.
"No, no, it's alright! I know we've been low on food recently, and you've taken one for the camp to miss out on a meal yesterday, so really, take this," he dropped it, nudging it to her. Devil Kit smiled, showing his small little baby fangs.
"Alright, alright," his mother said, eating the mouse as her hunger floated away.
"Thank you, sweetie. That meant a lot to me that you thought about my hunger," she said, brushing his flank with her tail. As Devil Kit turned around to walk away, he heard his brother yelling for him.
"Hey Devil Kit! Come play with us!" Yelled his brother, Devil Kit's two sisters snickering.
"Why can't you invite someone else to come play with us!?" Said Leaf Kit.
"Yeah! Devil Kit's weird," added Cloud Kit.
"You two are so dramatic… You're totally jealous of Devil Kit, that's why you don't like him!" Snapped Solar Kit.
"Y- Yea! You're just jealous of me!" Devil Kit said. The two sisters glared at the brothers.
"Well then, we'll just go play alone! Never will we play with Devil Kit, ew!" Snickered Cloud Kit, the defensive expression on Devil Kits face fading into a sad one.
"N- No it's uhm… It's fine, I'll just- Go play somewhere else… alone…" Devil Kit said, padding away with his head down. He walked over to a rock, digging his claws into it and using all his strength to haul himself upon it. He peered down at the others kits playing, laying down on the warm boulder. Devil Kit felt a wave of guilt wave over him.
"It's my fault they hate me…" He said to himself.
"It's all… my… fault…" He got up, sprinting past his clanmates and out of the camp. The blades of grass brushed against his pelt as he kept running and running, until he didn't smell the scent of Windclan.
