Hey! Thanks for checking out my story. So my story is over the Naruto cannon but its basically a "What if I was in Naruto." So to get it out of the way, the Sensei is an Uchiha because my best friend came up with the character and he was going through a rough time. All Criticism is supported. This is not my first story but I still am a inexperienced writer. So I hope you enjoy. We also have a discord channel. Feel free to come and join the community!

Twelve Years ago, 13 Years before the events of Naruto
Botan was trying his best to keep from looking impatient, although everyone was sure to notice he was bouncing his leg nonstop. He wanted nothing more than for this council meeting to end and to attempt to get a quick talk with the new Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. The Third Hokage said something, Botan didn't quite hear it, other things on his mind. When the Third spoke again, Botan was sure it had to do with him; "Lord Chisuke, is something the matter?" asked Hiruzen, the Third Hokage.
"No, Lord Third, why do you ask?" Botan said flatly.
"The whole council can see it on your face, if you could just calm down and pay attention this meeting will be over shortly and you can go see your wife and newborn," Hiruzen said, giving Botan a smile.
Lord Chisuke put a hand on his thigh just behind his knee, forcing his leg to stop bouncing as he let out a sigh. "My apologies Lord Third, Lord Fourth, Shinobi council, and Civilian council. I am sure you all can understand."
It was no secret that right as Botan Chisuke made it to the council meeting a Chisuke clan member appeared and delivered an urgent message that failed to go unheard by everyone else. The Chisuke clan preferred to keep clan matters private, especially when dealing with the heir and the future of the clan. So you can imagine the suppressed rage as he learned that Donzo Shimura told everyone else at the meeting his wife was giving birth that instant. To their credit the Third and Fourth Hokage were trying to make this quick. Truth be told Botan could have skipped that meeting, everything discussed was really of no concern to him or his clan, he was there for only one thing.
As the meeting came to a close Botan was still not paying attention. As council members left eventually only he remained. The Third Hokage let out a intrigued sound, "Botan, you should go be with your wife and child. The meeting is over and please deactivate those eyes."
That snapped him from his thoughts, and with a blink he cut the chakra running to his ketsueyamigan, he didn't even know he had them active. "Sorry Lord Third. There is something I wanted to ask Lord Fourth," said Botan as he looked at Minato.
The hokage were always the last to leave the meetings. Why? Various reasons that neither of the two Hokage sitting there bothered much to memorize. "Sure, Botan what is it?" Minato asked in his usual soft voice.
Botan got up and walked towards the head of the table, to where the Hokage sat and took the chair right next to Minato around the corner. He then pulled out a blank scroll and set it on the table in front of the New Hokage. "I understand that you are very busy, I do not blame you if you refuse. Do you remember what we talked about when Jiraiya Sensei got the three of us together to celebrate the conception?" Asked Botan.
"Of course I do, how could I forget," said Minato to his old teammate.
"Will you write everything that my daughter will need to know in this scroll? I plan on giving it to her when she graduates the academy and becomes a genin. Something she can use, hopefully to the same effect that you could during the third war, something to set her apart and keep her that much safer as a member of a genin team."
Botan didn't wait for Minato to answer, he didn't say bye, he simply got up and left after that. Making his way as fast as possible to Konoha's hospital, he had a baby girl to go and admire and a wife to thank a million times for giving him the ultimate gift.
Present day, 1 Year before the events of Naruto
"Ugh!" groaned a blue haired girl, "I HATE clan meetings! Why do I have to go?! Why do I HAVE to wear this stupid, restrictive, hotter than a desert Kimono?!"
"Shizuna, you have to go since you are the heir to the clan and you take your graduation test tomorrow. Tonight is to begin preparing you for the eventuality that you become the clan head and all the responsibilities that come with it" Said Botan.
The blue haired girl looked up at Botan, her father, with deep red eyes and a quivering lip. No her eyes are not red due to an illness or genetic abnormality. All born Chisuke clan members had eyes with deep red irises.
"That isn't going to work on me tonight sweetie. This is very important or trust me I wouldn't have you go." Botan said.
Shizu flopped onto her bed, right onto her yellow Kimono, "I think I'm sick."
Her dad took a step towards her and put a hand on her shoulder, "Princess please cut your old dad a break and stop being difficult. Hurry up and get ready, your mother will be home soon and she has a surprise for you."
He stood there a moment longer before prodding her in the side and causing her to yelp in surprise before turning and walking out and closing her door behind him. Shizuna lay there a few minutes, staring into the threads of her kimono, "I just want to go hang out with Daisuke and Ibouqa. They don't have to put up with this. How come I have to? No one else I know has to deal with this crap… UGH!"
Shizuna let out a sigh, rolled onto her back and sat up. Scooting forward on her bed she found purchase on the floor with her feet and stood, starting to slip off her yellow summer hoodie. Grumbling as she was it made keeping her hair neat and tidy a little bit of a pain but soon her clothes lay scattered on the floor and she was pulling on the kimono. She was fully dressed as her mother opened her door and stepped in, "Oh wow, I wish I was as pretty as you. Although your hair needs some fixing." Said a woman who looks just like an older version of Shizuna.
"Mom, I hate these clan meetings… Can't I just go hang out with Ibouqa and Daisuke? They don't have to deal with clan meetings."
"No, now come here my little fireball," Shizuna's mother said patting her lap as she sat down on the stool in front of the small desk in her room.
Shizu sat down on her mothers lap and crossed her arms in front of her. Was she being childish? Yea, those old traditions were stupid and she knew it. She could never understand why her parents kept up with them so much. Her mother leaned in and whispered in her ear, "I'll cut you a break, you'll wear a long braid instead of the traditional hairstyle. How's that? Then once I'm done braiding your hair, I have a surprise for you." Said her mother.
"Okay mama," Shizuna sighed, "can we have a party if I am rookie of the year?"
Her mother was humming as she braided her hair, she didn't even stop to answer her question. Shizu sat there feeling her mother's light tug on her hair to get a decent braid and then felt her finish and snake it around her neck and down her right shoulder. The end of the braid had a matching white ribbon tied into a bow at the end. "Now for your surprise, close your eyes."
Shizu closed her eyes and then felt her braid getting messed with. "Okay, open 'em."
Her eyes shot open and she was looking in the hand mirror her mother was holding in front of her face, she slightly turned her head to the left and saw the flower her mother just stuck in there. "A white flower? I guess it matches…" said Shizuna.
"It's a moonflower, I figured tonight would be the Waning Crescent and tomorrow, when you… step into.. the life of.. a shinobi…" her mothers voice started to crack as she was slowly losing the battle to hold back her tears.
Shizu turned and put her arms around her mother in a hug, "It's ok mama, I get what you're trying to say."
Shizuna's mother produced a handkerchief from almost nowhere and whipped her eyes with it. "Thank you my little fireball, now let's get going, your dad is waiting for us."
Shizuna stood and walked towards the door, leaving it open for her mother to come out. Walking her way through the house towards the main living area to meet up with her dad she could faintly hear the buzz of conversation from the clan members that were already at the Chisuke memorial in the center of the Chisuke district of the Hidden Leaf Village. She turned one corner and was suddenly in the living area looking at her father holding a simple looking scroll, pacing around the living room holding it in one hand and his chin in the other.
What's got him worked up? He never paces like that unless it's something serious, she thought. "Hey daddy. I'm ready."
Botan nearly had a heart attack judging by the way he jumped when she said that. "Princess, you look beautiful. Just like your mother. Where is she anyway? We need to leave."
He slipped the scroll into his tunic and started towards Shizu when her mother showed up behind her. If Shizu was a few years older and a little taller Botan might not have been able to tell them apart. "Sora, Shizuna, are you both ready to go?"
Shizuna nodded, bored, even though she was pretty interested to know what had him so worked up to pace around the living room of all places. "Yes dear, let's go I can already hear people at the memorial." Sora said while walking towards the door and beckoning Shizu to follow her.
Shizu followed rather close behind and Botan wasn't much farther back. They left the house and quickly made their way to the Chisuke clan memorial. As they got there everyone slowly started to quiet down, waiting on the head of the clan to begin the meeting. As the family of three made their way to the center of the gathering, all of the men were drawn to look at mother and daughter. "Quiet everyone. We're here to mark a special occasion. Lady Shizuna, the right heir to the head position of the clan is going to become a shinobi tomorrow. That, for those in the branch family who were unaware, is why we are meeting here at the Memorial Statue this evening. Shizuna," Botan said as he motioned for her to stand in front him, she hesitantly moved to stand before him.
Shizuna, standing before her father, feeling the serious aire, was trying to control her nerves. She was beginning to shake but for the moment it was controllable and no one seemed to notice. Damn anxiety, tonight of all nights, she thought. "Shizuna," Botan said once more, "this memorial statue, do you know it's significance?"
Shizuna felt even more nervous now, being put on the spot. It was taking everything she had to control her trembling, but now she had to worry about the quiver in her voice. I'm not getting paid enough to work this hard, heck I'm not getting paid at all, she thought. It was a way to try and help her nerves to calm down. "This memorial stone, entirely made of marble and slate, is a reminder of all clan shinobi who have died in the line of duty. The bottom portion, what you could consider to be a pillar, is where the names of all those shinobi are inscribed. The top, the Yin-Yang symbol, serves as a reminder that with death there is also life and vice-versa. Inside the seeds of the other are the kanji for either lightning or water to represent the nature transformations that every clan member is born with."
"Good, so you were listening after all," said her father.
The rest of the night was kind of a boring blur, Shizu was grilled about the duties she would be expected of as a shinobi and heir of the clan. The only thing that kept her from tearing her hair out was that it would hurt and she didn't want to mess up her pretty hair, and two Daisuke liked playing with her hair. She loved feeling his hands in her hair too, but sometimes it did get annoying. Especially when she could never understand how he felt about her. Hours seemed to tick by, Shizu was exhausted, being grilled by the clan elders and her own father over what was expected of her. It was grueling, eventually she couldn't take it anymore and closed her eyes.
What felt like an instant couldn't have been less than 30 minutes. She woke up with a start as her dad was setting her down gently, still dressed in her kimono, in her bed. "Huh? W-what happened? How'd we get here so fast?"
"You fell asleep standing up, I'm a little impressed you lasted so long sweetie, almost as far as I did. Now get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow. When you get home, bring your forehead protector straight to me, okay?" Botan said, as he quickly pulled her into a hug and gently laid her back down to go to sleep.
Shizu only nodded as her father left the room. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning Shizu was slow to get up; Never again, am I going to stay up that late when I have to get up early. Screw that, she thought. Slowly she dragged herself out of bed and into the bathroom to begin her daily ritual of getting ready. Shizuna, now wrapped in towels and slightly more awake, walked across her room to the closet. Opening it she was greeted with more of the same, multiple light tube dresses in her staple dandelion yellow, black body tight under shorts, and a few other outfits that she rarely wore. Pulling out one of the dresses and a pair of the shorts she quickly changed over, straightening her hair as she made her way to the front door to start her walk to school.
"Have a good day sweetie," her father said from the living room, startling her, "do your best! I know you won't let me down!"
"Y-yes dad. I love you," she quickly ran up and hugged him and then walked over to the door and pulled on her black strappy sandals.
Her walk to school took her past Ibouqa's house. Ibouqa was waiting for her to walk to school together. "Hey Shizu, ready to become shinobi today?" Asked Ibouqa.
"You know it Ibou-" Shizuna said, yawning, "ka, you look nice today, I wonder who you're trying to impress."
Ibouqa blushed as she put a hand in her curled dirty blonde hair, her cheeks turning as red as her knee length skirt which was contrasted by her black baseball style tee shirt with. She had mesh armor knee pads and a small utility pouch hanging from the black belt around her waist and a small kunai pouch around her right ankle outside of her knee length shinobi boots. "Well I figured that if today was the last time I get to see him I might as well tell him."
"Who is him?" Shizuna said.
"You know who it is! Daisuke." Declared Ibouqa.
"Oooooh I should have known. Well come on, we don't want to be late for the big day."
Ibouqa gave a slight nod as they began their short walk to the academy. That butt, of course she likes Daisuke, who wouldn't? Their walk was abnormally quiet, usually the girls would chat up a storm the whole way. That day though, was a medley of nerves, jealousy, and betrayal on Shizu's part. Once they reached their classroom at the academy the nerves melted away, walking into the room the girls were greeted by a red haired boy who had the most beautiful forest green eyes Shizuna had ever seen. He was tall for his age, most other boys only made it to his eyebrows.
"Hey! Shizuna, Ibouqa, good morning! Ready for the Genin exam today?" Asked the red haired boy.
"Oh hey Daisuke! Of course! Though I think Shizu is pretty nervous. She didn't say anything the entire walk here." Said Ibouqa.
"Oh? Well lets go sit down and relax to try and calm those nerves. Wouldn't want the 'Dandelion Princess' to fail the most important test of her life." Daisuke said, turning and walking towards a desk.
Ibouqa and Shizuna followed after him, sitting on either side of him. Soon after, a pot bellied man who looked like he should have been an Akimichi clan member, Daikoku Sensei walked in, "good morning everyone."
"Good morning Sensei!" All the students exclaimed standing to give him a respectful bow.
"Please take your seats, I will hand out exams shortly." Daikoku said.
He looked from seat to seat, person to person, checking attendance. "Alright, everyone's here. The Genin exam will now begin, no socializing, do not get caught cheating. The first part of the exam is a written test, 100 questions. Once completed you will wait patiently for everyone else to finish. Once everyone is finished we will head out to the training area and test over Taijutsu, Transformation, Substitution, and the Clone Jutsu. You will know whether you passed or failed by lunchtime today. Any questions?"
No one raised their hand. Daikoku sensei began handing out the tests. Everyone finished their tests within the hour. Surprisingly most of it was variations of the same problems. As Daikoku collected them and set them on his desk everyone silently lined up at the door and, following his lead, walked outside to the training area. "Alright, line up in two lines facing each other." Ordered Daikoku.
Shizuna was in one line and Ibouqa in the other. "This is the matchup for the taijutsu test. No ninjutsu, no weapons. Any volunteers?" Daikoku said.
As he said, volunteers both Shizuna and Ibouqa stepped out of their lines. "State your names, form the seal of confrontation, and wait for my mark."
"Shizuna Chisuke," Shizu said as she was walking towards the center of the taijutsu square.
"Ibouqa Tsurunade," Ibouqa stated as she made her way to stand across from Shizuna, both lines made their way to their respective sides of the taijutsu box.
Both fighters made the seal of confrontation simultaneously and the air seemed to thicken. "Mark!" Barked Daikoku Sensei.
As the two girls heard the order to begin they rushed each other. Shizuna threw a punch that brushed Ibouqa's ear as she dodged at the last second. Ibouqa followed up with a tight jab to Shizu's chest, which failed to connect, Shizu grabbed her wrist to block it and kicked Ibouqa hard, sending her tumbling away and laying face down on the dirt. "Don't tell me you're done already Ibouqa."
Ibouqa pushed herself up and dusted herself off. She looks a little mad to say the least. "No, I was just seeing what you would do. Now it's my turn." She said, as she took off for Shizu who just stood there in a defensive posture.
As Ibouqa got within kicking distance, Shizu went for a roundhouse kick. Ibouqa jumped up and cocked her arm back for a gravity assisted punch when suddenly her target wasn't in view anymore. "Surprise," was all Ibouqa heard and something hard hit the back of her head, causing her to flip forward onto her back and land hard on the ground.
Ibouqa was stunned, there's no way she could move that fast. When did she become that fast? She opened her eyes and looked up to see Shizuna standing over her, arms crossed smiling down at her. "I'm sorry to do you like that Ibouqa, I couldn't lose today. I went all out on you," saying that she reached down with the unison sign to help Ibouqa up who gladly took it.
Once Ibouqa was standing she dusted herself off with the help of Shizu. "Good work girls, head inside and wait for the rest to finish. Shizuna, since you won you'll be the first one to demonstrate the clone, substitution, and transformation jutsus." Said Daikoku as the girls started walking to the inside waiting area.
As the girls sat down, Ibouqa let out a small hick causing Shizuna to look at her. She was trying her best to keep from crying. "I'm sorry for kicking you in the back of the head so hard, can you forgive me?" Shizu asked as she reached over and wiped the eyes of her dear friend.
"It's not that. I didn't stand a chance. We were supposed to be a duo, how can we if you outdo me?" Asked Ibouqa
Shizuna reach down and grabbed Ibouqa's hand. "Ibou, I am the heir to a ninja clan. You aren't, it's just expected that I am going to be better at certain things because I for lack of a better term am forced to do them. Like clan meetings, you like those because my clan is cool but they're terrible because I have to go to most of them. Don't let it upset you, I promise that I will help you get stronger, and soon we'll have a Jonin sensei! They can help too!"
Ibouqa sniffled, and nodded her head in understanding. Soon the entire class was done with their Taijutsu demonstrations and it was on to the Transformations. Shizuna was first up and she successfully transformed into the Third Hokage, then it was Ibouqa who transformed into the sensei. Next was Daisuke who transformed into the Third Hokage as well, much to the surprise of Shizu and the dismay of Ibouqa. The rest of the exam went as one would expect, nothing too hard or challenging, just seeing if everyone could do the basic jutsu. Which everyone was able to do.
Now back in their classroom Shizuna and Ibouqa were sitting together, when Daisuke sat down. "Hey girls, good job out there on the taijutsu box, you both did great!" He exclaimed looking at them.
They both looked at him and smiled, not sure what to say. Shizuna opened her mouth when she finally found to speak when an Aburame boy stepped up to the desk, "Hey Shizuna Chisuke, um, you did great today and whatever happens I was wondering if you would like to get some Dango sometime?"
"Shinko, she's good, the three of us already have a get together planned to celebrate our graduation. So she'll pass, sorry." Daisuke said, the softness in his voice gone.
Shizu's mouth went slack, she had never heard Daisuke say anything like that before. What's gotten into him? It was kinda cute. "D-Daisuke, I can speak for myself. Shinko Aburame, I'm sorry but I can't, even if we didn't have that get together planned I still would have clan business to take care of. Maybe some other time."
Shinko gave her a slight smile and walked off. Ibouqa looked a little stunned and hurt, Daisuke had never stood up for her like that. Did he like Shizuna more than her? That couldn't be, Daisuke never showed any real interest in either of them. Though that could just be him not picking up on the hints that she forsure was giving him, walking him home, showing up at his home later at night to bring him homemade dumplings, helping him train. What more could she have done to try and impress him over a clan heiress?
Daisuke sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, "sorry Shizuna, I know how much you hate bugs and-" at that moment Daikoku sensei came into the room.
"Congratulations everyone, you all passed!" He said and everyone in the room cheered.
"Okay now settle down, we still have to go over the teams," Daikoku said and Ibouqa raised her hand.
"Yes Ibouqa?"
"Who is rookie of the year?"
"Ah right. Unfortunately it's that Hyuga boy from down the hall. Sorry Shizuna, I know you were trying for it."
Shizuna just frowned, it was actually Ibouqa who was trying her best to get rookie of the year. Shizuna just nodded, "It's okay sensei. Can we please go over teams now?"
The sensei nodded. "Alright, there is an empty room across the hall, when I call your name move over to the other room, pick up a forehead protector from the table, and sit together until I dismiss you," he started calling off names.
Ibouqa looked over at Daisuke, who was looking up at the ceiling waiting to see what team he would be on. Shizuna was resting her cheek on her palm with her elbow on the table, looking out the window. Suddenly Daisuke smiled and looked over at the two girls, "C'mon let's go!" he said.
"Huh?" Ibouqa asked
"We're all on the same Genin team! Isn't this awesome?!" Daisuke cheered as he got up and motioned for the girls to follow.
Shizuna followed, her lips curling into a tight smile. Ibouqa sat there for a split second longer, not sure she heard right but then coming to her senses and following right along. The three friends entered the new room and sat at a table near a window to look out. No one in the room was talking, like they were nervous about conversation. Shortly, the classroom filled up and Daikoku sensei came into the room. "Good job everyone, we're going to break for lunch now. It is currently 1100 hours, be back here at 1300 hours to meet your new sensei. Once you get back you will not leave until you are collected by your new sensei unless you forfeit your ninja license. As for your ninja license you will get those from your sensei. Dismissed."
The three friends started to leave the room with everyone else. "What do we wanna get for lunch?" asked Daisuke.
"Sushi? Dango? Bar-B-Que?" Listed Shizuna, looking at Ibouqa.
"Lets get Bar-B-Que." Ibouqa said and the group started for the restaurant.
Daisuke smiled, "Alright, my treat then."
They weren't talking much. Bummer, Kamuichi followed them from the academy, to the restaurant, and back to the academy. She was beginning to get disappointed in the three of them, she wasn't being really sneaky, a genin should have noticed her. The Chisuke Heiress wasn't living up to expectation. She hoped that, at the real genin test, they would impress her. "When do you think our sensei is going to come get us?" said the blonde girl.
The other two just shrugged, Kamuichi's gut sank, they really didn't notice her. With that she checked her watch, 1245 hours, she was getting impatient too. Kamuichi contemplated going and just collecting her team right then, seeing as they were back from their lunch break. She took one step towards the door and thought better of it, deciding to give them their full break before introductions.
Well that was that, lunch was over and all the team were back in the classroom waiting to be collected by their senseis. A group of Jonin showed up. One tall guy with a weird haircut and bushy eyebrows poked his head in, looking for his team. But they were down the hall. A man with a Guardian Shinobi 12 sash and a cigarette sticking out of his mouth came and collected a team of three. He was accompanied by an attractive dark haired woman with red eyes and she also collected a team. Next was a Inuzuka clan member, followed by a Yamanaka clan member, and then lastly was a Hyuga member.
That left only two groups left in the room. A half hour passed and no one showed up to collect the groups. "Ugh! This sucks! Where is our sensei?!" Cried Shizuna.
"Shizuna, just calm down, they'll be here soon." Said Daisuke.
Shizuna let out a groan and laid her head down. Just then two Jonin entered the room. A silver haired man with his forehead protector covering his left eye and looking lazily around the room with his right eye, he also wore a mask over his nose and mouth. The other was a woman, with waist length black hair that covered her right eye and a septum piercing, who looked similar age to the silver haired man, the two seemed to have some unspoken words as the silver haired jonin looked at the woman and she blushed. The man wore the standard jonin outfit while the woman wore a medium cut deep blue tank top, a black thigh length skirt with bandage wraps sticking out wrapped around her thighs. She had a Kusanagi sword hanging on her waist, she also had a kunai pouch hanging off her belt on her right side just behind the sword and a shuriken pouch on her back left side. "Good luck Kamuichi, they look like a handful. Especially the loud mouth crybaby."
Hearing herself be called a crybaby upset Shizuna a little. There is this man, that she didn't know, calling her a crybaby. Who does he think he is? The woman seemed to snap out of her condition. "Right, thanks Kakashi, good luck with your genin."
Kamuichi put a hand on his shoulder and walked behind him to stand in front of the desk that her genin team sat at. "You three look like you're more concerned with being friends and goofing off and hiding your true feelings from each other instead of paying attention to someone following you around the hidden leaf village. Meet me at Senju park in one hour." Kamuichi turned on her heel and left, Kakashi leaving behind her with his team in tow.
Grumbling, Shizuna got up and started walking towards Senju park alone, Ibouqa and Daisuke following close behind.
It took the entire hour for Shizuna and her two friends to make it to Senju park. Kamuichi was already waiting for them. "You're late," she barked.
"No we aren't! We're right on time!" Cried Ibouqa.
"A minute late is still late. But anyway let's do team introductions." Kamuichi gestured to the four chairs set up under the shade of a tree.
The four walked over and took their seats, Kamuichi took the chair that was facing the other three chairs. "I'll go first, to show you the format. My name is Kamuichi Uchiha, I like… well I don't want to tell you. I hate… I don't want to tell you that too. My hobbies are… I'll keep those to myself. My ambitions for the future are… well I don't have any. That's it. Who's next?"
"Wait a minute, wasn't the Uchiha clan massacred a few years ago?" Asked Ibouqa
"Ibouqa that's not-" started Shizuna
"It was. I was spared since I was out on a mission. The only other survivors are Sasuke, who is the current recognized head of the clan, the other is his bastard brother Itachi." Kamuichi said quickly, there was a hint of ire in her voice.
"Kamuichi sensei," Shizuna starts, "I am sorry for Ibouqa's hasty, unthoughtful question."
"It doesn't matter, I was asked quite a lot about it when I returned from that mission. Who's gonna introduce themselves next?" Said Kamuichi.
Daisuke quickly raised his hand, "I'll go next sensei. My name is Daisuke Tendou, I like hanging out with my friends and training to be a better ninja, I hate that I might not be good enough to protect them when it matters if that day comes, My hobbies are training and cooking, My ambition for the future is to protect all my friends from whatever they need protecting from."
"Good Daisuke," Kamuichi said and she looked at Ibouqa, "now you."
"I am Ibouqa Tsurunade, I like comparing my skill to Shizuna's, I hate when she beats me, my hobbies are painting and stylizing, my ambitions for the future are to be a good ninja and then to surpass Shizuna in skill." Ibouqa droned off, she hated talking about herself.
Kamuichi looked at Shizuna. "I am Shizuna Chisuke, I like hanging out with my friends and training with them. I hate that I have to put up with clan stuff. My hobbies are hanging out with my friends and shopping. My ambitions.. Well I don't really have one, I just go with the flow." Shizuna said nonchalantly.
"Good, well with that, tomorrow we meet at training ground 4 for our first mission. Be there at 0800 and don't eat a whole lot." Kamuichi turns and disappears in a shunshin.
"Okay.. Well if we're done then. anyone wanna go to my house?" Asked Shizuna.
"Sure!" Daisuke and Ibouqa said in unison.
The Chisuke compound felt more lively than normal. Shizuna and her friends were greeted by Sora who pointed at their forehead protectors as they entered "Hey everyone! Botan will be back shortly. Enjoy yourselves and good job today!"
"Yes mama." Shizuna said and motioned for the other two to follow her to the living room.
The three went and flopped around onto the furniture in the living room. Not sure what to do to pass the time. Ibouqa yawned, Daisuke stretched, and Shizuna sighed. "Mama, how long do you think dad will be?" Shizuna asked.
"Shouldn't be too much longer, five minutes maybe, my little fireball." Sora said.
Shizuna groaned. "Well I didn't think you would be that upset with me for not being here when you got home." Her dad called out as he opened the door.
Shizuna jumped up and ran over and threw her arms around him in a hug. "I'm not daddy!"
Still hugging Shizuna, Botan lifts her up and waddles his way into the living room. "Hey guys, did you all graduate?"
Everyone nods their head except for Shizuna, who is still being hugged tightly by her dad. "Well good. What teams are you on?" He sets Shizuna down and takes a seat where he can look at all three.
"We're all on the same team Dad. Team five, our sensei is Kamuichi Uchiha." Says Shizuna.
Botan's eyes lit up. "Well they sure know what they're doing, putting you all together on the same team. Anyway, would you guys like to hear some stories about my time on Team Jiraiya? Or any of the times leading a team?"
"Yes!" Shouted Daisuke, "Tell us about-"
Botan cut him off, "So a story about the third ninja war. Sorry for cutting you off Daisuke, this story seems much more appropriate at this time."
"It's ok Sir, please continue." Daisuke said.
"Wait, I thought you had a surprise for me," Shizuna complained, squirming in her chair. She hated waiting for a surprise almost as much as she hated being made to do stuff she didn't wanna do.
"You will get it after dinner. And since you all graduated, I have a surprise for you all." Botan said..
Everyone settled in for a story without acknowledging what Botan said about the surprises. "Alright, so what story should I tell you? Ah I know! So one day, me and my team of genin were tasked to recon the area around the Kannabi bridge, which was being used by the Hidden Stone village as a supply line. It was more or less to just distract the enemy ninja so Team Minato could get in and blow the bridge. So my team set off and we made it to the area we were supposed to recon before nightfall. That's when everything went bad. We got ambushed by maybe ten Stone ninja and had to fight them off. But before we could fight off the first ten more showed up. That's when I got put into a pretty tight spot and had to get saved by my ranged jutsu specialist. She was the brightest one on the team too, natural leader, very intelligent, rivaled only by Kakashi if we stick to age groups."
"Who was she?" Ibouqa asked.
"Well she died in that battle." He started laughing.
"Dad?!" Shizuna scowled
"No she didn't I'm just messing with you. I'm not too good at it, I guess. Anyway, she hit those stone ninja with a really hot fire jutsu and caused them to retreat. As they retreated the bridge was blown up and we linked up with the rest of Team Minato and left the area. Team Minato took one loss, their Uchiha lad. That poor boy, Minato was hurt by it for a short while. I think he might have felt guilty since if he had been with them it might not have happened. But anyway, my team was still whole. I never lost anyone on my team without them being promoted and removed." He said.
"Yea but who was she?" asked Daisuke.
"Dinner is ready!" Sora yelled and everyone hopped up to go eat.
After everyone was full and lounging back in the living room again, Botan and Sora stepped out with a long and large chest. They set it down in the living room and knelt down next to it motioning for the three to situate themselves in front of them. The three kids did as instructed and quickly got comfortable on the floor. Botan cleared his throat to speak, "Since Shizuna brought either of you two home to meet us, you three have been best friends. You all spent so much time here that eventually you became the two kids we never had, and because we think of you as our children it is our duty to do our best to prepare you for the world outside of the safety we can guarantee. Daisuke, Ibouqa, I know neither of you are from shinobi clans, that's why we wanted to give this to you."
Botan and Sora slowly opened the chest. Inside the lid were four picture frames, three with pictures already in them. One picture was of Daisuke, "Daisuke, when I first met you and began training you with Shizuna, you were so hard to teach that even I began to hate training days that you showed up. However through your own hard work, you showed me exactly what the drive is to want to be a teacher. That drive is the success of your student, you grew far beyond what I thought you would ever become at the time. Will you please accept this gift from me and carry the emblem of the Chisuke clan, proudly, as an honorary member?" Botan reached into the chest underneath the Diasuke picture and produced a navy blue jacket with the Chisuke emblem sewn on the back right between the shoulder blades.
Daisuke reached out and grabbed it, feeling the durable cloth, he smiled at Botan and Sora. "Thank you."
Next was Sora's turn to speak, "Ibouqa, I taught you everything I could think of. At first you showed real promise with taijutsu, I almost let Botan have you all as his students. But then when you wanted to try learning medical ninjutsu, you were more proficient in it than I was starting out and you quickly let my praise get to your head. Remember, your journey is just now starting and you have a lot of room to grow. Expand your abilities, don't focus on just medical ninjutsu, and remember your job as a medic is to support your friends. Please take this and don't let us down, we're rooting for you."
She reached in under the Ibouqa picture and pulled out a black jacket, similar to the one given to Daisuke, and handed it over to Ibouqa who took it and tried it on. "Thank you Sora Sensei!"
Sora blushed, and finally it was Shizuna's turn. "My darling daughter," Started Botan, "You still have a long way to go. You are the most proficient in everything except medical ninjutsu that we could have taught you. Your speed rivals the speed I remember the fourth hokage having at your age, you are skilled in kenjutsu more than those two, and ninjutsu as well. Remember, there are rules to being a shinobi, but there are also rules to being a Chisuke heiress that supersede those rules. Those rules are, a shinobi is never to abandon or forsake comrades for their own gain, and your comrades are more important than completing your mission. Just remember that the mission is still important and must still be completed after tending to your comrades needs."
At this he reached in and pulled out a Dandelion yellow outfit and handed it to Shizuna, the outfit consists of a yellow skirt that ends just above the knee, black undershorts that she already has, a black belt to mount pouches to, a black long sleeve t-shirt, and a yellow shinobi vest. Shizuna took it and looked at them quizzically. "Not that I'm ungrateful or anything but why get me a whole outfit?"
"Because we can't have you fighting enemies in things like that dress. We also got you a few changes of that same thing, they're in your closet already. Now, there is something else we would like to give you three." Botan said as he reached into the chest with both hands. When he pulled them out he was holding three chokuto swords. He handed one to them each.
The three of them were looking at their swords with excitement when Botan spoke up, "Now, we have one last thing, Shizuna your uncle Minato and I wanted you to have this for when you graduated from the academy. It's a shame he isn't here to see you today."
He pulled a simple looking scroll from the chest and held it out to Shizuna who took it and set it in her lap. "Thank you Mom, Dad." Shizuna said, and was then echoed by her two friends and now teammates.
"Alright you three, get some sleep, I'm sure you have to be up early. Oh and never forget, teamwork is key to success." Said Botan as he and Sora picked up the chest and walked it over to a spot in the living room before closing the lid.
The two walked off to their room for the night, leaving the three alone in the living room. "C'mon guys, let's go to my room and go to sleep. We have to be at the training ground by 8 in the morning." Shizuna said as she hopped up and carried her things with her to her room.
She was followed by Daisuke and Ibouqa. Once in the room, everyone set their stuff down the desk Shizuna had for homework and Daisuke stepped out while Shizuna and Ibouqa got ready for bed. "Ok Daisuke, you can come back in. We're decent." called Ibouqa.
Daisuke stepped back in, and saw that there was now a bed roll on the floor and a blanket and pillow for him. Shizuna slid onto her bed and under her covers. She reached over and set the alarm for 0600 to have a nice early start to make it to the training field and have a decent breakfast. Ibouqa slid in the bed with her and Daisuke got comfortable on the floor. The three would fall asleep pretty fast, with Shizuna being the last one awake, looking at the scroll on the desk. She didn't look in it. But she would when she had more time, tomorrow. For sure.
