INT. JEDI TEMPLE TRAINING ROOM - DAY

MASTER YODA inches through the halls of the Jedi Temple towards a classroom.

Younglings stand spread out across the room holding small training lightsabers. Small devices hover around the room shooting out SOFT LAZER BLASTS. The Younglings try blocking the blasts.

One Youngling flips around perfectly blocking the lazers. She is a Togruta with orange skin, white and blue montrals, and very athletic. She wears a short skirt with a tube top. She is AHSOKA TANO.

Master Yoda approaches the JEDI INSTRUCTOR and whispers something to her. The instructor turns to the class.

JEDI INSTRUCTOR
Attention, class!

The Younglings retract their lightsabers. The devices stop shooting out lazers.

Master Yoda steps forward.

MASTER YODA
Younglings, time for you, it is, to receive your kyber crystals. To Ilum you will go. Become Padawans soon, you will.
The Younglings jump around in excitement.

JEDI INSTRUCTOR
Younglings!

The class settles down.

JEDI INSTRUCTOR
The ship for Ilum leaves first thing tomorrow morning. Congratulations.

EXT. ILUM - DAY
Ahsoka walks off the ramp of the ship with one of her friends, BARRISS OFFEE. Barriss is Mirialan and has light green skin with blue markings on her face. She wears a long dress with a hood. Ahsoka wears a winter jacket.

BARRISS
Do you think everyone will be able to find their crystals?

AHSOKA
Everyone? Who knows? I've heard this is the hardest challenge in a Jedi's life.

BARRISS
Besides the final test before being knighted.

AHSOKA
Yeah. But I'm not worried. This should be easy. I am top of the class.

BARRISS
But Ahsoka, this isn't class. You have to be in tune with the force.

AHSOKA
I am. How do you think I do so well in class?

BARRISS
I wouldn't be so sure about your abilities if I were you. We are Younglings.

AHSOKA
Younglings destined to find our crystals.

They join the other Younglings huddling together in the cold snow outside the ship.

They all follow Master Yoda to a large ice wall.

MASTER YODA
Work together, we must, hmm? Use the force. Concentrate.

The Younglings and Master Yoda outstretch their hands. They close their eyes and concentrate on the ice wall in front of them.

The ice starts to crumble apart, leaving a large gap.

Master Yoda steps forward, the Younglings following him.

INT. ILUM CAVE - CONTINUOUS

There is a large clearing, with circular images carved into the icy floor. Large steps lead up to a frozen over waterfall.

Ahsoka, Barriss, and the Younglings gather around Master Yoda.

MASTER YODA
Inside, find your kyber crystals. Use them to build your lightsabers, you will.

The Younglings cheer.

MASTER YODA
A great accomplishment it is, finding your kyber crystal. Forget not, a place of honor this is. Sacred to the Jedi. When you find your crystal, know you will which one is yours.

The Younglings nod their heads seriously.

Master Yoda reaches his small, green hand up and uses the force to open a large metal window. Light streams through, bouncing off of a large crystal hanging from the roof of the cave. The sudden light melts the ice. The water drains into the floor.

Master Yoda turns to the Younglings.

MASTER YODA
Once the ice freezes back over, trapped you will be. Trust in the force.

Ahsoka, Barriss, and the Younglings rush inside the small cave hallways.

Inside, there are many pathways. Barriss and the Younglings follow the way they feel led by the force.

Ahsoka is left alone following a dark, icy path.

AHSOKA
(to herself)
This shouldn't take too long.

Ahsoka runs down the path. It opens up to a large, beautiful clearing. The icy path attached to the wall overlooks a large frozen lake, with ice pillars protruding out. Large stalactites hang from the roof of the cave, with small sparkles illuminating from them.

Ahsoka stops to take in the beauty. She looks up and sees the sparkling stalactites.

Ahsoka puts her hands on her hips.

AHSOKA
Crystals? No way. This is so easy.

Ahsoka reaches out her hand and closes her eyes, focusing on the crystals.

Suddenly, a loud roar echoes against the walls of the cave.

Ahsoka is knocked out of her trance. She bends her knees, ready to pounce. She looks around. There is no movement.

The loud roar is heard again.

Ahsoka shuffles in place. Her eyes narrow in focus.

Suddenly, the icy lake rips to shreds. A large, white scaled creature looms over the rest of the cave. It's large neck continues to emerge out of the lake. It's arms reach out, tearing the icy wall to pieces.

Ahsoka throws herself to the pathway floor, covering her head to avoid icy shards.

After the air clears, Ahsoka jumps up and quickly takes in her surroundings.

The monster spots her and tears the floor out from under her.

Ahsoka yelps and falls with the icy floor. She uses this moment to force jump up onto a higher piece of falling ice. She jumps up three icy blocks and lands on the unharmed part of the pathway.

Breathing heavily, Ahsoka force jumps to the edge of the path leading to a small hall further in the cave. Her jump just misses the monster's arm, as the monster tries to throw Ahsoka off balance again.

Ahsoka runs down the path. The monster's cries grow quiet.

Up ahead in the small pathway, Ahsoka sees mist clouding the way.

She inches closer and reaches out her hand, touching the mist.

She is instantly sucked into a new location.

INT. JEDI TEMPLE COURTS - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka looks around. She sees Jedi Masters seated on high pedestals looking down at her. They are all from the Council.

Ahsoka looks down. She is standing on a pedestal herself, except hers is lower. Below, she sees a YOUNG JEDI, but older than herself, watching.

Ahsoka looks up to the Council, confused. Mace Windu stands up.

MACE WINDU
Padawan Tano, you will be expelled from the Jedi Order.

Ahsoka spins around, looking for a way out.

The Young Jedi bellows in anger.

YOUNG JEDI
YOU CAN'T DO THIS!

Ahsoka starts shaking in fear as the floor lowers.

AHSOKA
Padawan? I'm not... What is this?

Ahsoka looks for a way out. She uses the force to open a door. She runs through.

EXT. GEONOSIS BATTLEFIELD - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka finds herself standing on a dusty desert landscape. Lazer blasts zip past her face. BOMBS can be heard from all around.

Ahsoka spins around. She sees familiar Jedi Masters run out from behind shot down gunships. Clones fire their blasters, trying to inch forward without being killed.

Ahsoka looks to the enemy. Droids in straight lines fire at them. Bugs half the size of a human fire from odd shaped blasters at the clones.

Ahsoka looks down. She has a lightsaber!

She ignites it and starts deflecting blasts.

The Young Jedi from earlier runs up to her.

YOUNG JEDI
Snips! What are you doing here? I sent you on a mission with Barriss! I need you to blow the droid factory from the inside!

Ahsoka raises an eyebrow in confusion.

AHSOKA
Barriss?

YOUNG JEDI
I need you to start taking responsibility!

Ahsoka shakes her head in confusion.

The Young Jedi's comm starts ringing. He answers.

YOUNG JEDI
Obi Wan! Where are you? We need the reinforcements now!

AHSOKA
Obi Wan Kenobi? One of the best Jedi generals?

The Young Jedi gives Ahsoka a concerned look.

Suddenly, a swarm of five bugs attacks Ahsoka and the Young Jedi.

Ahsoka slashes one and falls through the floor. She sits up in a new location.

EXT. GRAVEYARD - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka stands up in front of many lumps in the ground where bodies have been buried. Sticks protrude from the graves, with clone helmets hanging from them.

Ahsoka looks from left to right. For as far as she can see, there are buried bodies.

Ahsoka looks down to her hand. She's holding a lightsaber.

She feels herself let go. The lightsaber hits to the ground.

She is transported back to the ice cave.

ILUM CAVE HALLWAY

Ahsoka uncovers her face, feeling the cold, frigid air.

She cries out to the force.

AHSOKA
Maybe I'm not cut out to be a Jedi!

Ahsoka hears Master Yoda's voice. She looks around, but he isn't there.

MASTER YODA (O.S.)
A Jedi, you will be. Trust in the force.

AHSOKA
(through tears)
But I can't! I thought I could! But now I see all the destruction. I don't want to be the cause of anything bad!

MASTER YODA (O.S.)
Visions, those were. Your future, not written yet. Decide your own future you must. Trust in the force, and become a Jedi, you will.

Ahsoka wipes the tears from her eyes and stands up.

She walks into the next icy room.

An ominous, yet peaceful, noise fills her ears.

Ahsoka looks up.

A few feet above her is a little wedge in the ice wall. A crystal glows brightly.

AHSOKA
My crystal!

Ahsoka reaches out to the force and lowers the crystal into her hands.

She looks at it in amazement.

Having finished her task, a piece of the cave opens up to her, revealing a new path.

Ahsoka runs down the path. She sees the exit.

A youngling slips under the frozen waterfall, which is quickly sealing back up.

Ahsoka runs harder, not wanting to be trapped.

Ahsoka reaches the waterfall and slides low to the ground. Except, she is blocked by ice.

Ahsoka stands up. She tries to use the force to break the ice. It's no use.

Ahsoka paces back and forth.

AHSOKA
Why didn't I make it out in time? Everyone else did. Maybe I'm not cut out to a Jedi after all.
(beat)
I know Master Yoda said I make my own destiny. But what am I supposed to do!?

Ahsoka shakes her head in misery.

AHSOKA
I'll never become a Jedi. I'll never become a Padawan, or get paired with a Master, or build my lightsaber.

Ahsoka's eyes light up.

AHSOKA
A lightsaber! A lightsaber is hot enough to break the ice!

Ahsoka places her crystal on the ground as well as some spare parts from her pocket.

She sits down with her legs crossed and closes her eyes. She stretches her palms out.

The spare parts and her crystal lift off of the floor and hover in front of her. Small ice chunks fly off of the wall and swirl amongst the parts and crystal. All the parts come together, and her crystal slides into place.

Ahsoka opens her eyes and ignites her lightsaber, staring at the green blade and the ice holding her lightsaber together. The ice starts to melt around her palm.
Ahsoka's eyes widen, and she quickly thrusts her blade through the ice waterfall.

The ice starts to melt away.

From behind her, a roar is heard. The monster has found her again.

Ahsoka freezes in fear.

The roar stops.

She snaps out of her frozen position and plunges the saber further into the ice.

Bigger ice chunks start falling away.

The monster stomps forward, shaking Ahsoka to the ground. She manages to hang on to her lightsaber that's stuck in the ice.

Ahsoka regains her footing and pushes the saber further into the ice.

The monster tries to grab her but it's too late.

Ahsoka slips through the hole big enough for her.

The ice starts freezing back over.

EXT. ILUM - CONTINUOUS

In the sunlight, Ahsoka's makeshift lightsaber melts in her hands. Ahsoka stuffs the extra parts in her pockets and heads towards the ship. She pockets her crystal.

SHIP

Inside, everyone is waiting for her. Her fellow Younglings clap for her return.

BARRISS
I thought I'd never see you again, Ahsoka.

Ahsoka smiles at Barriss as the Younglings start to crowd her.

Master Yoda speaks up from the back of the crowd.

The Younglings turn to face him.

MASTER YODA
Congratulations. Received your kyber crystals you have.

The Younglings cheer and congratulate each other.

MASTER YODA
Your new Masters, Jedi Generals they are. Padawans you will be. But with great responsibility this comes.
(beat)
A time of war we are in. Fight alongside your Masters, you will. But remember, peacekeepers we are, not soldiers.

The Padawans nod in understanding.

Master Yoda leaves this room of the ship.

The Padawans talk excitedly amongst themselves.

The CAMERA LIFTS OUT OF THE SHIP, UP PAST THE PLANET AND LOOKS INTO SPACE.
