Unstoppable, a harry potter fanfic

Hey! This story is inspired by a writing prompt about a ballerina going on stage for the first time. The title of the story is inspired by the song "Unstoppable" by Camila Mora.

A figure dressed in ballet finery stood in the wings of a huge stage. Okay, so it wasn't that big, it was only a school stage. But it looked daunting to Ginny Weasley. Sure, she had practised on the same stage for months for the recital but with the blinding lights and large audience, the girl felt nervous. Her red hair was tied up in a tight bun and she was dressed in a dark purple romantic tutu. Her heart was beating wildly and her hands were clammy with sweat.

A hand clasped her shoulder from behind and made her jump. Ginny turned to see Lily standing right behind her. Lily Potter was her honorary aunt since she was close with Ginny's mum. Ginny and Harry had been friends for as long as she could remember. James, Sirius and Remus were like uncles to her. Now that she was dating Harry, she was even closer to the Marauders and Lily.

"Nervous?" asked Lily gently.

Ginny nodded, not trusting herself to speak.

Lily smiled and hugged her. Ginny leaned into the embrace, feeling some of her tension fade from her body.

"You know we have your back, right? We will cheer for you more than anyone else in the crowd. You have practised a lot; you know the music and the steps. Just dance with your heart and you will be unstoppable."

Ginny giggled. The song she was going to dance to was called Unstoppable. She gave a small sigh and stepped back a little to look at the older redhead.

"I was getting nervous for no reason."

"Not no reason. It's okay to feel scared at the thought of facing the audience."

"Yeah. Thanks for the pep talk, Aunt Lily. Hug the boys for me, will you?"

"Of course, darling. Now I should get back to my seat. Good luck!"

"Thank you."

Ginny watched as Lily disappeared from the wings and then turned towards the stage just as the host announced her name.

She took a deep breath and made her way onto the stage, a dazzling smile on her face. She was going to make her family proud.
