School Bully, Annabeth's School Life pt 1
"Demi-gods!" Hera suddenly appeared in the park.
"Hera, what did you do with Annabeth?" Percy demanded.
"No need to worry, little hero," The goddess said distastefully. "She just wanted a...mental break."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Piper asked.
"Oh, dearest. There's nothing to worry about," Hera promised. "I just have something to show you about Annabeth."
"I swear if you did anything to her–" Percy began.
"No need for threats, young hero," The goddess smiled. "She's safe from harm."
"She better be safe," Percy muttered.
"Now come with me, heroes," Hera spread out her hands, clearly didn't hear Percy. "I have something to show you."
Suddenly all of us were somewhere new, almost in a theater. Hera was sitting behind us with a remote.
"Why did you bring us here?" Hazel demanded.
"As I said, I have something to show you about Annabeth," Hera clicked a button on her remote.
The presentation screen glowed with white light and changed to a scene.
There was a little Annabeth, about 12, she was standing at the front door of a home. She knocked at the door and a man with blonde hair answered, "Annabeth!"
"Hi, Dad," Annabeth tried to smile until a lady came into the doorway.
"Oh, hello, Annabeth," She said distastefully like Annabeth was a curse.
"Oh, hi," Annabeth's expression darkened.
"Honey, why don't you get Annabeth some cookies?" Annabeth's dad asked the lady.
"Oh, yeah. Sure thing," The lady left.
"I'm sorry about that," The dad said once the lady was out of earshot.
"It's fine, Dad, really," Annabeth shifted her luggage.
"Poor, Annabeth," Piper said.
"Ssh!" Hera hissed.
The scene changed.
Annabeth was now in a simple bedroom. Her luggage was put away and she was studying on her bed. Suddenly some little kid voices came from the hallway.
"Anniebeth!" One said.
"Come play!" The other said, both boys.
"Matthew, Bobby, go away," Annabeth didn't look up, but she sounded irritated.
"But we want to play!" One boy said.
"No, Bobby, I don't want to play," Annabeth closed her book. "Can you leave me alone?"
"Why?' The one, named Bobby said.
"Because I want to study for my test, now, go!" Annabeth slammed the door, she sighed and went back to her mattress.
A little while later, the one named Matthew opened the door, "Anniebeth, please?"
"Matthew," Annabeth sighed. "Go away."
Matthew turned away and whispered to Bobby, "Go tell mommy that Anniebeth isn't playing with us."
Bobby understood and ran down the stairs to their mom.
"Bobby is telling mom!" Matthew teased when he peered his head back into the room.
"I swear to the gods if you don't–" Annabeth started but was interrupted by a lady's voice yelling up the stairs, "Annabeth, play with your brothers and put that book down!"
Annabeth closed her book and sat up, "Fine!" She went over to Matthew, "I hope you're happy."
Matthew smiled sheepishly and ran after Bobby.
"I can't believe those brats!" Hazel complained.
"I didn't know this, entirely," Percy muttered.
The scene changed again.
This time Annabeth was at school, carrying her books, and her backpack was slung over her shoulder, "Maybe I should ask those girls to be my friend?"
Annabeth walked over to a group of girls, "Hey."
A girl with brunette hair looked over at her, "Hi?"
"Can I be your friend?" Annabeth asked.
The girls looked at each other, they looked like they wanted to laugh but instead, they nodded, "Sure."
Annabeth smiled and the bell rang.
"We'd better get to class, er, what's your name?" The brunette-haired girl asked.
"I'm Annabeth, you?" Annabeth asked.
"I'm Jennifer, but you can call me Jenny," Jennifer said.
"I'm Oliva!" A red-headed girl from the group said.
"And I'm Kimberly, but Kim for short, I prefer Kim, anyways," A blonde girl said.
The second bell rang.
"Crud, we're late for class," Kim said.
"We better hurry," Annabeth replied and rushed off to class.
"Aw, that's nice she made mortal friends," Frank said.
"Ssh!" Hera hissed.
The scene changed.
Kim, Oliva, and Jennifer were standing in a hallway with a few other people. They were whispering.
"Annabeth hit me last night," Sobbed Jenny.
"What?" Shrieked Kim.
"That's horrible!" Oliva agreed.
"Why did she hit you?" A random boy asked.
"She said, 'You worthless freak'!" Wailed Jennifer.
"But Annabeth wouldn't hurt someone, would she?" Piper asked.
"Do you really believe she didn't want to hurt someone when she was angry at them?" Leo shuddered.
"But she would never say, 'Worthless freak' any time. That's not her," Percy replied.
"Heroes, we're watching!" The goddess scolded us.
"Don't worry, Jenny, we'll tell Principal Tim," Kim promised.
"Yeah, and then she can get expelled!" Oliva agreed.
"Principal Tim?" Percy repeated. "What kind of name is that?"
"What kind of name is Mr. Blofis?" Jason asked.
"Shut up, Grace," Percy snarled.
"Y-yeah," Jenny wiped her cheeks, but her eyes weren't red as if she were crying, they were normal.
"She wasn't crying!" Piper pointed out.
The scene changed.
"Why did you hit, Jenny?" Demanded Kim.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Annabeth hugged her books close.
"Yes, you do! You called her a worthless freak! You're a freak!" Olvia added.
"I'm not a freak," Annabeth muttered as a small tear ran down her cheek.
"What was that?" Asked Jenny as she appeared behind her friends. "You're not a freak?"
"NO, I am not!" Annabeth shouted. "I'm tired of that word!"
"Freak," Teased Jenny.
"I'm not a freak," Annabeth whispered as she walked off.
"Why do mortals think we're freaks?" Percy asked aloud.
"Hmm, probably it's because we have crazy looks on our faces, we hold random items at random moments, I couldn't think of anything mortals wouldn't call us freaks," Jason sarcastically said.
The scene changed again, to something unexpected.
Annabeth was wearing a black hoodie, with the hood up. Her expression was dark and she was crying. She was getting ready for school and she was in the bathroom muttering to herself, "I don't want to go. They'll just keep calling me a freak and bully me. I'm not a freak." Annabeth pulled out a piece of razor and pulled up her sleeve. She leveled the blade above her wrist. She closed her eyes and brought the razor down and cut herself.
She dropped the blade to the tile flooring after she had cut herself a few times on each arm, and the blade clattered against the floor. Her arms were slowly dripping with blood, leaving drops on the sink counter. When she looked up and pulled off her hood, her face was covered in bruises and small cuts, as if she went through a prickle bush while having a fistfight with someone.
"Annabeth! Hurry up!" Her step-mom called from downstairs. "You have school in 15 minutes!"
Annabeth pulled down her sleeves and pulled her hood over her head again, "Coming!" Annabeth wiped her face and headed down.
"I didn't know she cut," Percy said.
"None of us did," Frank said glumly.
"But she didn't have any scars from the cuts!" Piper cried.
"Maybe the other scars from battles hid them?" Jason guessed.
"She does have a lot of scars already…" Percy agreed.
The doors behind us opened, and a bright light shined in, blinding everyone when they looked up.
