Juno watched quietly as Brii finally closed her eyes and drifted off. She really needed the nap and Juno was blessing his lucky stars she'd finally decided to rest.

He was getting ready to put her down so she could rest peacefully and he'd be able to do something else, but he paused. It wasn't the first time he'd gotten all caught up in staring at her face, but every time he was he felt such an overwhelming feeling.

The feeling left Juno beyond words and he didn't know if he'd be able to describe it to anyone ever. But as he stared at his daughter it struck him again that it was his daughter. He was the one who had helped to make this being. He'd brought about life into the world in a natural way and this child was his.

He did wish he could share the joy of having a child with his girlfriend, or rather ex-girlfriend. He would have been willing to try and name things work. Unfortunately, he understood too well not wanting to have to deal with his situation.

Juno bit his lip as tears slipped out of his eyes. He shut them tight and he was sure that if he opened them a flood would come pouring out.

But slowly, he opened his eyes and was met by the peaceful, resting face of is daughter. He laughed slightly at the thought again. His daughter. He smiled and rubbed Brii's cheek.

Sure, life wasn't perfect here, and sure she didn't have a mother who could give so much more than he could. But what Juno did know was that his family would not fail to take care of Brii. They would look after her, and care for her.

It wasn't perfect, but they were family, and that meant the stuck together.

So maybe it wasn't perfect, but it was good.
