So uh, pleased to meet you and thank you for clicking on this.

I've had this idea bouncing around in my skull for a while and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't ignore it or make it go away, so I'm just gonna bite the bullet and write at least One chapter so it can leave me alone at least for a little while.

Names in One Piece all each have 4 different way of being written depending on where the translation is, so I've decided to just go with what the Wiki says, unless it's particularly stupid, I apologize if you're not used to seeing a name written a certain way.

I've also made sure to learn the timeline as much as I could to not contradict the Manga but I'm probably gonna mess it up somewhere.

also x2 : I'm really bad at dialogues and have a tendency to write too many details that don't matter, English is also not my main language (Even if it is the one I write and speak the most on a daily basis) so I may make mistakes that I didn't catch while re-reading and that autocorrect didn't catch, don't hesitate to point them out so the next people who read this don't cringe as much as you did !

One last thing, This is technically an SI story ? I've based Enel's actions and way of thinking on mine, without the crippling self doubt I feel at all times. As interesting as it would be to read a story about a man losing his mind in One Piece, I don't think I'd be good enough to write something like it, so consider Enel like an OC with his name, face and abilities who's loosely based on myself.

Chapter 1

Timeline : 6 years before the Straw Hat Pirates

The early lights of the sun shone on the God's shrine, bathing it in gentle light, workers would wake up soon and start their routine for the day, tending to the temple for some, for others like the Divine Squad, training and honing their skills to defend their home.

Gan Fall, the god of Skypiea, stepped out of his quarters inside the temple, earlier than any of them as usual, he took a deep breath, enjoying the gentle breeze flowing and the warmth of the sun, before moving through the temple towards his office.

On the way to it, he stopped next to one of the pillars holding the Arced shaped roof, watching a blond haired young man sitting down on the edge of the temple, his legs dangling over the cloud sea.

It was a sight he got used to, Gan Fall had always been an early riser, it was a habit he picked up from his father and yet, just a little over a year ago he would find out that this particular young man always woke up earlier than him, no matter the time.

He watched as the young man idly played with his bō staff, twirling it expertly in front of him, he did so for another few seconds before suddenly slamming it next to him, using the force of the slam to elevate himself above the ground balancing on one hand before falling backwards and landing on his feet.

The Blond haired man didn't stop there, he went on to strike with his bō to an enemy only he could see, wasting no movements and flowing from form to form, a swipe on the ground as if to destabilize, followed by an overhead swing stopping short of the ground ended the sequence of hits.

"Heso, God Gan Fall." the young man greeted with a smile while turning around, not at all surprised to see him standing there, also smiling.

"Heso Enel, how was your sleep?" Gan Fall greeted casually.

Normally, no one would bat an eye to such a question, simply responding it was fine and return it, but for the young man in front of him, it was different.

"Ah." The smile on his face turned into a small frown, before he shook his head. "It wasn't as bad as usual, I managed to shut the voices down and fall asleep."

Gan Fall recalled the first time he met the young man, who had come from the island of Birka to seek help with his Mantra, this ability the Citizens of the sky could learn to hear the voices of others around them.

An useful ability that some of his best men could use, the ability to predict an opponent's intentions or know how many people were in the area around you, the stronger the ability, the further and the clearer they could hear.

An ability that Enel had and who utterly broke the norm, capable of hearing from Skypiea to the blue sea below, a double-edged sword, so strong as his Mantra is, he had a hard time shutting everything he heard out, every single voices overwhelmed him. His control was slowly improving, with his men helping him along the way and teaching him.

"Today is the day isn't it?" Enel's voice took him out of his thoughts, and he turned his attention back on him.

"Pardon? I was lost in thought."

"I was saying today is the day we meet the Shandia warriors right?" Enel repeated, and Gan Fall nodded.

"Indeed, I am hoping to finally attain peace between our people and theirs, this war has lasted long enough, too many people have been hurt over the years."

The war between the people of Skypiea and the Shandia tribe has been going on for 400 years, since the god of that time declared that Upper Yard would be the only residence fit for him and drove out the original occupants of this land.

Not for the first time, Gan Fall found himself cursing his predecessors, who instead of trying for peace, instead fueled the fire of hatred and pushed the Shandia further and further in their assault.

It had taken a lot of effort and good will from Gan Fall to finally obtain a meeting with the Elders and leader of the Shandia, he couldn't fail now.

Enel nodded, the look on his face was easy to understand, he had something to say but was not sure if he should.

"You can speak your mind Enel, I do not mind." he said gently, conflict passed through Enel's eye, before he closed them and sighed.

"There's an island below us on the blue sea." Enel started, he opened his eyes and looked at Gan Fall, "It is faint as you know, but I can hear some of the stronger voices down there." Enel turned around and looked down to the Cloud sea.

"There is a man down there, I can hear his voice faintly, his name" Enel hesitated for a second before he uttered a name that shocked Gan Fall "is Mont Blanc Cricket."

"He is the descendant of Mont Blanc Noland, with your permission God Gan Fall, I want to go down to the Blue sea." Asked Enel, still looking down at the cloud sea, "I am sure if I go down and explain to him the situation, he would help us with the Shandia, just like his ancestor once helped the Shandia, he would help them again and also us, in reaching peace."

Gan Fall processed this information, weighing the pros and cons of such an action and found that the benefits would most certainly outweighs the potential drawbkacks.

"You have my permission Enel." Gan Fall said resolutely, "Go to the Blue sea and help Mont Blanc Cricket reach the sea of clouds and Skypiea."

"At once God Gan Fall." Enel saluted quickly before grabbing a Dial attached to his purple sash and jumped off into the cloud sea, the clouds parting around him and closing the hole he left behind.

The last thing Gan Fall saw before he turned was the clouds turning black and the rumble of thunder.

Jaya, the island below the cloud sea, had a reputation as a cutthroat place, the only civilization on it being the town of Jaya, a pirate led and pirate filled town made of quickly built buildings, the town never slept, Crews partying all throughout the night every day.

Mont Blanc Cricket on the hand, slept like a baby, living on the opposite side of the town of Jaya, he had no problem with the noise and partying.

He opened and stepped through his front door, stretching lightly and getting ready for yet another day of deep diving in the search of a proof that the city of gold indeed exists and was not just a lie of his ancestor.

He took three steps outside, heading towards where he last stopped diving yesterday before a rumble above him was heard, the clouds shifted menacingly, thunder rumbling inside them and he sighed.

The idea of diving with a storm brewing above him was not a good one for his health, he grumbled at yet another day lost to the fickle weather of the Grand Line, before turning around to go back inside his house.

He couldn't however, predict that as soon as he took a step forward, a lightning bolt struck right in front of him, he jumped backwards in fright, an involuntary scream coming out of him.

He rubbed and blinked the spots of light in his eyes away, not quite believing the sight in front of him.

A really tall blond haired man stood in front of him, where the lightning had just struck, the sight so ridiculous it took Cricket a few seconds to realize what he was seeing.

"Mont blanc Cricket?" The Blond haired man asked, to which he nodded dumbly, still not quite processing what had just happened. "I come on behalf of God Gan Fall, ruler of Skypiea, he requires your help and has tasked me with bringing you to the cloud sea."

There were many things Cricket wanted to ask at the moment, the first one being of course, what the hell had this man smoked last night.

"And who're you? I'm not following you anywhere till you explain what the hell you're talking about and even then." Cricket responded, he fell into a deceptively cautious stance, ready for a fight breaking out.

The man in front of him blinked once, twice before he replied, "Oh, my apologies, I forgot my manners."

"Heso, I am Enel, enforcer of God Gan Fall, the ruler of SKypiea as I've already said." The now named Enel said, putting his hands behind his back to show he did not want a fight, "I will explain the situation, but it is quite a long story and it would be better for us to be seated, may I ask for your hospitality?"

Cricket glanced at the sky, still menacing and at the sea, before sighing.

"Sure, come in, not like I could stop a Logia from doing whatever he wanted anyway." Enel stepped aside and followed Cricket inside his home, where they sat on each side of his small table, "So, what was that about god needing my help?"

"Hmm, as I've said, it is quite a story." Enel paused for a second, thinking on how to best explain it, an idea formed in his mind, he closed his eyes, opened his mouth and spoke.

"It all started 394 years ago, when the Shandia, a tribe living on this island, met and was subsequently driven out of their home by our people, the Skypieans..."

"...It brings us to today and the reason why I am here, I have found the ruins of their ancestor not long ago after my arrival on Skypiea and using this knowledge, our god Gan Fall, who thrives for peace between all of it's people, including the Shandia tribe, managed to secure himself a one time only encounter with the leaders of their tribes."

Cricket absorbed the information's he learned over the past few minutes, he still couldn't quite believe it, all this time, all these years searching for the city of gold at the bottom of the sea, when it was above his head all this time.

"It is quite possibly the only chance our god will ever have at peace with the Shandia, if this meeting fails, then the war will continue and innocents will continue to die in a war none of us ever saw start, until either the Skypieans or the Shandia tribe is wiped out." Ener finished his story, before opening his eyes and looking directly into Cricket's one.

"I am here to ask you, Mont Blanc Cricket, for your help in ensuring peace between our people and the shandia, I want you to come with me to the Cloud sea and help convince the Shandia to accept the treaty, the name of Mont Blanc Noland is a sacred one to the Shandia, if there is one person they would listen, it is you, his descendant." Enel took a breath, "Of course, I am not asking for your help to be free, I am sure God Gan Fall will be more than happy to provide you with everything you want, whether or not we succeed in bringing peace, in exchange for your help."

A silence followed after Enel's speech, it went on for a few minutes before finally, Cricket spoke, his mind made up.

"How do we get up there?" He finally asked and Enel smiled with joy. "I can't exactly fly y'know."

"That is not a problem!" Enel stood up excitedly, holding in his hand a Seashell that was strapped to his purple sash , "What I am holding here is a Cloud Dial, It will create a boat made from clouds that I will propel using my Abilities as a Lightning-Human, we will depart as soon as you are ready."

Cricket wasted no time in grabbing every belonging that he cared about, his ancestor's logbook the most important one before heading out, Enel already outside and waiting.

"Are you ready?"

"I've promised myself that before I died, I would once and for all know if my ancestor had really lied, I have been ready for a long time." Cricket Replied and Enel nodded, holding out the seashell in front of him, he clicked with his palm on a button situated on the shell and out of a hole came out a cloud, it started to form a ball, then turned into a small rowboat.

"Then let's go." Enel said, stepping inside the solid cloud boat.

Cricket stepped inside and with a warning to hang on, they were gone in a burst of lightning, onwards towards the sky.

Gan Fall had almost lost all hope, the meeting with the Shandia elders and their leader Wyper was not going well, he hadn't expected 400 years of war to be so easily swept under the rug, he had been ready to make hard concessions, if it meant peace at last.

The Elders had been receptive to his offer, but Wyper was another problem, he had flat out refused any and all possibility of an Alliance, even if Gan Fall was prepared to give them back the part of Upper Yard that was originally theirs, including the city of gold that Enel had found by luck.

What he was not prepared to do however, was to spill the blood of a hundred innocent civilians.

"I cannot do such a thing!" Gan Fall refused vehemently, Wyper's hand grasped harder at his coat and threw him back.

"Then this meeting is over! Get the hell out of here!" Wyper turned around and started walking away.

"Wait Wyper !" He called out, ready to try one last foolish attempt at appeasing the tension, when a voice he thought he wouldn't hear in time shouted.

"God Gan Fall!" Enel had bursted out at the edge of the Shandia Tribe village, his boat made of cloud dispersed back into the cloud sea as him and a man he had placed his last hopes on appeared and ran towards Wyper. "I have brought him God, I am sorry for the delay, it took a long time to explain the situation, but he accepted to help."

"What is trickery are you trying to pull off God." Wyper turned around, suspicion clear in his gaze, the way he said his title sounding like an insult rather than acknowledging him.

Enel took a step forward, stopping a few paces to Wyper.

"Berserker Wyper, Leader of the Shandia Tribe, my name is Enel, I have come today, on order of God Gan Fall, with someone I am sure you will be interested to meet." Enel introduced himself politely, gesturing to the man with him.

"Why should I care about a Blue sea dweller?" Wyper Sneered in their direction.

"Because 394 years ago, his ancestor saved the Shandia Tribe from a terrible disease that had been slowly killing them." Enel responded, Silence fell over the village, as everyone processed his words, he nodded towards his companion, who took a step toward Wyper, and spoke.

"My name is Mont Blanc Cricket, descendant of Mont Blanc Noland." The man confirmed his identity, his word resounding with everyone.

Gan Fall dared to hope again, as he saw and hear the murmur going through the crowd, Wyper's face cycling through confusion, anger and hope, before he finally calmed himself and steeled his emotions.

"Why should I believe you huh?!" Wyper closed the distance between himself and Cricket, jabbing a finger in cricket's face, who stood unflinching, "How can I be so sure that you're not lying through your teeth's?"

Cricket was silent a for a few seconds, no one dared breathe, lest they set off Wyper's temper explosively and worsen the situation.

"394 years ago, a Man called Mont Blanc Noland came back to his Home Kingdom of Lvneel and told the king that he a found a city of gold," Cricket started, unbothered by the attention on him, "However, when he came back with his king to the island, it was to find it gone, he was branded with the name, 'Noland the liar' and executed."

A collective gasp resounded around Cricket as he said his piece, Gan Fall himself couldn't believe it.

The worse reaction came from Wyper himself, who looked as if he couldn't decide whether to kill Cricket on the spot out of anger or fall to his knees.

Cricket however wasn't done, "For my entire life, I have been ridiculed for being part of the family of Noland the Liar, 4 years ago, I came accross the Island where the city of Gold my ancestor had supposedly found, and spent every single day diving deep, in the hopes of finally learning the truth."

"Enel explained to me that you were the de

scendants of the people my ancestor saved, was it true? Did the city of gold really exist?" Cricket Asked quietly to Wyper.

Wyper stayed silent, observing Cricket for any tell of deception, when he could find none, he finally spoke, "Yes, our elders often spoke of a city of gold, and a golden bell that they rung everyday in the hopes of one day seeing Noland appear on the horizon."

"But the bell was lost to time and the Skypieans forced our ancestor out of their home on upper Yard."

"Wyper." Gan Fall called out as he strode forward grabbing Wyper's attention, "I want nothing more than to end the war between my people and yours, I cannot give you back the entirety of Upper Yard, it is now too important to the skypieans as well, but nothing stops us from co-existing."

"My Apprentice has found the ruins of a city hidden below the clouds, where the Giant Jack beanstalk grows." Gan Fall motioned towards Enel, "I understand that 400 years of war, after you were unjustly forced out of your homes by my predecessors is hard to forgive, and will not ask for forgiveness but."

"I will ask you this, let us get past this war and take a step towards peace, so that our children can live and grow without fearing for their parents or their lives." Gan Fall took one last step forward and extended his hand towards Wyper, "I am ready to discuss what you want for Peace to be possible, so please, for the sake of the future, listen to what we have to say."

Wyper looked at Gan Fall's extended hand, then the people around him, everyone looking hopeful at the idea of finally being able to stop fighting an unending war everyday, then back to Gan Fall, finally, he sighed, his anger leaving him and grabbed Gan Fall's hand and shook it.

"Alright, You wanna talk? Let's talk."

"This is where the Belfry was supposed to be?" Cricket asked, an elder nodded.

"Indeed, if the stories about Shandora are true, then this is the place where the Belfry containing the golden bell stood but..." The elder and everyone else looked in front of them, where the Giant Jack stood, "As you can see, it is not there, we have searched the entire city for it, but no trace of it was found."

Cricket sighed dejectedly, "I was hoping to hear it's sound, Noland said it was this bell that saved his life, if I could prove it's existence, then no one would doubt anymore about what Noland said."

"It is unfortunate, it must've been lost down in the blue sea when this island was flung into the sky 400 Years ago." Gan Fall said, looking around to the decrepit building, "The force must've knocked it off on the way."

"No, if it had been sent to the bottom of the sea, I would've found it, I spent every single day for 4 years diving to the deepest parts of the ocean around Jaya searching for it." Cricket denied.

Wyper looked deep in thought, observing the Giant Jack in front of him, before his eyes widened, "What if we're looking at the problem the wrong way?" he turned to the others, who looked confused.

"You said you spent years looking below for this island when it was above you all this time right?" He asked Cricket, who nodded, "What if it's the same here? What if instead of down..." Wyper looked up at where the Giant Jack burst through the clouded roof.

"It went up?" Everyone processed his words, and as one also looked up.

Mont Blanc Cricket, for the first time in 400 years, rung the golden bell of Shandora, signaling to everyone who could hear it, that the stories were true.

He finally after all these years, had proof that Noland was not a Liar, tears of joy flowed as he rung the bell as hard as he could.

Actually, everyone cried big fat tears that day, though Wyper will forever deny it, to the amusement of everyone.

It was also to the sound of the bell that the Skypieans and shandian finally made peace, working towards a brighter future that would include them both working together.

-Months Later-

Everyone had gathered in the plaza of Angel island on the word of God Gan Fall, who had an announcement to make.

The Plaza was crowded, Both the Shandia Tribe and Skypieans had finally joined each other after the peace treaty had been made public, even after a rocky start and some tensions, everyone soon accepted their new neighbors.

God Gan Fall along with his apprentice Enel and Wyper, the leader of the Shandia tribe climbed up on the platform, the population of Skypiea quieted down, as their God cleared it's throat.

"Heso, people of Skypîea." the crowd replied with a resounding 'Heso, God Gan Fall!', "I have gathered all of you today to share with you a decision that was, quite possibly, the hardest to make but at the same time, one that I think will allow this island to grow and prosper."

Gan Fall took a deep breath and continued his speech, "I have decided, after much consideration, to step down as God of Skypiea."

Shock flowed through the crowd, people gasping in horror and confusion.

"It may come as a shock to all of you, but I had this thought for a while now." He continued, closing his eyes, "I am getting old and with the peace finally achieved, my reasons for accepting the role of God of Skypiea are now a Moot Point and I find myself without a clear idea going forward."

He turned towards his apprentice, who looked just as shocked at the idea of him not being God anymore, idly, Gan Fall thought with some amusement he should've taken a Vision Dial with him for this occasion, the normally calm and collected Enel looked utterly ridiculous.

"I have the immense honor today, to say that in the following week, on May 23rd when the Golden bell of Shandora is scheduled to ring once again, it will be to crown our new God, my Apprentice Enel!"

The crowd roared in approval, everyone knew of the God Gan Fall Apprentice Enel, who's power and Mantra protected this island from malevolent intruders, someone who played a major role in the end of the 400 Years war and someone who always helps, no matter how small the problem, whether it is finding a pet lost or helping rebuild a broken house.

Enel's shocked looked slowly disappeared, Gan Fall didn't need Mantra to see the fear on his Apprentice's face, but even that fear was squashed quickly and replaced by resolve.

Wordlessly, Gan Fall stepped aside and Let Enel step in his place. He looked on at the crowd, chanting 'God Enel' over and over.

"I... Do not know what to say, I wasn't expecting this when I woke up this morning" He laughed, scratching the back of his bandanna covered head. "So I will just say this, I am thankful to see everyone here supports God Gan Fall's decision of entrusting me with his role of Leader of Skypiea and I will do my utmost best to not disappoint you who believe in me."

"With all due respect God Gan Fall, You could've told me you'd planned on ceding your role as a leader to me instead of springing it on me like that! and stop laughing, this is not funny I almost had a heart attack back there!
I can hear you snickering Wyper, I swear to god I will throw you down in the blue sea!"

"You swear on yourself? Oh dear, our new leader already has a big head and ego and he's not even officially god yet."

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

Man, I planned this to be a little snippet, barely 1K word but the more I wrote the more ideas came in and before I knew it I had almost 3K words written up and I wasn't done yet.

Chapters are not gonna be this long all the time, next ones (if there are any) will probably more along the lines of 1K to 1.5K

So to preemptively answer some questions

-Enel knows of One Piece, he has memories of the show, that knowledge extends to what I know of One Piece, so everything up until after the Katakuri vs Luffy Showdown and whatever I read on the Wiki after that.

-The priests that would originally work for Enel exist and will probably make an appearance in the next chapters, just like Masara and Shoujo do. I just didn't feel like including them as I felt they didn't fit the flow I wanted. They'll probably appear as Cameos with something like the Marines deciding on their Bounty

-Do I have any idea for a plot ? Not at all, mostly some little interactions I thought would be cool and will probably write.

And that's all I can think of right now, I will happily take any prompts for this story, I'm not a very creative person and my brain juices usually go dry after 3 chapters when I write something so any ideas to write are good.
