Here she was.

laying on the ground covered in blood. The woman that he loved was now dead. Ethan looked down at her, with Rose in his arms tears filling his tired eyes.

"I'm sorry Mia...please forgive me."

He finally defeated everyone, that was standing in his way to live a happy life with his family. And yet...Mia didn't make it. He hugged Rose, who was crying in his arms, trying to calm her but also himself down.

He fell down on his knees. Why her? why not him instead? He began to sob, when he heard a familiar voice screaming his name from behind.

"Ethan! Ethan, thank god I found you!" Chris said as he ran towards Ethan. He suddenly stopped when he saw what happened. Mia was dead. Ethan was kneeling next to her with Rose in his arms. And crying. Chris could feel his heart break at that sight. He couldn't even imagine how painful it must be for Ethan. Chris walked to him and gently placed his hand on the younger mans shoulder.

"I'm so sorry Ethan...but we have to go now...This place is going to blow up soon."

Ethan turned his head towards Chris. Tears were runnig down face. He wiped them with his free hand and nodded at him.

"Let me just say goodbye to her...just one more minute..." Chris sighed and took Rose from him trying to stop her crying.

Ethan leaned over Mia's face and softly kissed her on her forehead.

"goodbye Mia...I'm going to take care of Rose, i promise...I'm sorry that I didn't make it on time...I love you.."

He then got up and turned towards Chris again. Chris gave him Rose back.

"We got to get going. Can you walk?" He asked looking at how wounded the other man was.

"Yes...I'm fine..Let's go."

They walked towards the helicopter. Ethan and Rose got in first and Chris followed. He checked everything an nodded at the pilot to start the machine. Ethan sat down on one of the seats with Rose now sleeping peacefully in his arms. Chris walked towards them and sat next to Ethan. He wanted to say something to start a conversation, but he didn't knew what to say. Ethan was the first one to speak.

"I failed her...I was supposed to save them both...Rose and her...I'm such a bad husband..." He looked down at Rose while saying this. Chris only shook his head and put his arm again on Ethans shoulder.

"Don't say that. You did everything you could. Don't blame yourself for this. It's not your fault." Chris said while looking deep into Ethans eyes.

"But...what am I supposed to do now? I'm all alone with Rose.."

"Ethan..."

"I have nowhere to go..I won't make it.. I-.."

"Ethan!" Chris now put both his hands on both the mans shoulders looking hin straight in the eyes.

"You are going to make it! We both will. I am going to help you. You're not alone." Chris sighted. "I'm going to help you take care of Rose..only if you want to..you can move into my apartment with her...I have a free room."

Ethan could feel tears fill his eyes again. He smiled softly at Chris.

"Chris...I don't know what to say...I...thank you..."

"You don't have to thank me..not yet..."

They were so lost in their conversation, they didn't even notice that the helicopter already has landed. Chris looked outside the window and smiled at Ethan.

"Well...let's get going then."

It was a new beginning for the both of them.
