My Father's Keeper
Chapter 1
"Father, I hope I'm not disturbing you but could we talk for a bit?" said the 10 year old Harry who would turn 11 in just 3 day.
"Not now, little boy. Don't you see that I have affairs to attend to, affairs much more important than petty chit chat. You may speak to me when I say you can!" The little boy did not really expect much of a different response, but still gave it a shot.
"Is the boy, bothering you my Lord?" said Peter Pettigrew with his head facing the floor almost as though he was curtsying.
"Wormtail! How many times have I told you not let him in my quarters. Do you need me to teach you in a way that allows you to remember?"
"No my Lord, come Harry we better be off!"
Harry could never really talk about a lot with his father. The only conversation he ever faintly remembered having with his father was when he was 8, about how Harry is to be loyal to his father and no one else. He remembered his father saying "You will do what I say or not do anything at all." Harry did as he was told, he always had faith in the wisdom he thought his father had. Even though he lived in his father's house and among his father's people, he never felt a sense of belonging. He was taught that, the one who does not do as you say is meant to be punished but he never seemed to want to willingly do that. This made Harry wonder more about his father's secretive nature towards him.
