(A/N: Okay, I came up with this after my brother's most recent round of "Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga" (the original). It takes place sometime after the adventure, and I needed to get this out of my system real bad! Here goes...)
It was a quiet afternoon in the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser hadn't attacked in a while, which either meant he was plotting something, or he was still recovering from the last time he got beaten by the Mario Bros. Speaking of the Mario Bros., why don't we go check up on them? Let's go!
We find Mario and Luigi at Peach's Castle. They're in the sitting room with Peach and Daisy, just talking. I think we should stick around, for you never know when someone might say something interesting.
"Since it has been a while since the last time Bowser attacked, I think we should take advantage of it and do something. Maybe go somewhere." Peach suggested.
"Like where? A theme park?" Luigi asked.
"Maybe I could cut my visit short, and you guys could come with me to Sarasaland. After all, Luigi hasn't met my parents yet." Daisy said.
"But Daisy, it's still too early in our relationship..." Luigi protested.
"We've been in a relationship for almost a year, Luigi. It's time you and my parents finally met." Daisy said.
"What if they don't like me?" Luigi asked.
"That's unlikely. I already put in a good word for you, and they really wanna meet you. Then again, everyone else in my castle wants to meet you, too." Daisy said.
"Actually, I was thinking that perhaps we could go back to a place we've been to already; you know, to make up for the vacation Bowser tried to ruin while we were there." Peach replied, not wanting Luigi and Daisy to argue.
"Where? Dinosaur Land?" Mario suggested.
"Isle Delfino?" Daisy guessed. (A/N: For those of you who haven't read my work yet, Mario and Peach actually do go back there for their honeymoon in "Super Mario's Happily Ever After".)
"The Beanbean Kingdom?" Luigi tried.
"Yes! The Beanbean Kingdom!" Peach decided.
"You want to go back there? Why?" Mario asked.
"Well, I'd like to replace some bad memories caused by one Bowletta..." Peach started.
"Who's Bowletta? I figure that from the first part of the name, it's Bowser, but..." Daisy interrupted.
Mario, Luigi, and Peach quickly explained the whole thing to Daisy.
"I'm glad I wasn't there. That disgusting piece of filth probably would've made me puke my guts up." Daisy replied.
"I don't blame you for that, Daisy. The sight of that creature was enough to make anyone turn sick." Luigi said.
"Plus, Bowletta wasn't the only thing that ruined the trip for me. I was captured by creatures in Teehee Valley, and I was also attacked by a tree-like creature before getting on the lift to Little Fungitown, so I think it's for the best if I go back there to give myself better memories." Peach stated.
"That's understandable. We should probably do that with some other places we've been to where things didn't go so well." Mario said.
"Can we go, too? Mario and I also have some unpleasant memories we wouldn't mind replacing." Luigi asked.
"Of course. Besides, I didn't really see much of the Beanbean Kingdom like the two of you did." Peach said, speaking to Mario and Luigi.
"Yup, we saw everything; from Stardust Fields to Joke's End." Luigi said.
Mario perked up when he heard that. He quickly tapped Luigi on the shoulder, getting his attention.
"What is it?" Luigi asked.
"Joke's End." Mario whispered.
"What about it?" Luigi whispered back.
"Do you remember it?" Mario asked.
"Of course. It was cold and not fun." Luigi replied.
"Do you remember who lived there?" Mario asked.
Luigi thought for a moment, and then he remembered.
"Oh yeah. Jojora. I hated her. She was an annoying little cretin who asked us to pick which friend she should invite that day, and then she tried to sic her friend on us. We had to kill her friend, and then she called us jerks. She's the jerk, not us. Besides, she's still got 3 other friends to play with." Luigi said.
"And she's a little liar, 'cause she said that no girls would ever like us." Mario said.
"She's wrong. I'd like to hear her say that to Pauline, and the girls who liked you in high school. They would tell her that they agree to disagree. But most importantly, I'd like to hear her say that to our girlfriends, Peach and Daisy!" Luigi said.
"And Peach and Daisy aren't just any girls... they're princesses!" Mario reminded him.
"Yeah... If Jojora found out how wrong she was..." Luigi started.
And then they got an idea. An awful idea. The Super Mario Bros. got a wonderful, awful idea. But neither princess caught the Grinch smile their boyfriends made when it happened.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Luigi asked.
"You know it!" Mario replied, before turning to Peach and asking, "So all of us are going, right?"
"'All of us', as in 'me, too'?" Daisy asked.
"Daisy, do you want to come along?" Peach asked her cousin.
"Sure! I wouldn't mind seeing the Beanbean Kingdom! That, and my parents aren't expecting me back home for at least another month." Daisy said.
"Great! I was hoping you'd wanna come!" Luigi said to Daisy.
"It sounds like fun, and if I go, perhaps I can help get your mind off of certain things." Daisy said, smiling at him.
"Right..." said Luigi, knowing what Daisy was saying.
"Oh, and Toadsworth needs to know about this. You know that he won't let me go alone, even if I have you guys with me." Peach said.
"You think he'll be okay with this?" Daisy said.
"Absolutely!" Peach said.
"Absolutely not!" said Toadsworth when Peach ran the idea by him later that night.
"Why not? I thought you liked it there!" Peach said.
"I was against the idea from the get-go the first time you wanted to go there, Princess! You knew that!" Toadsworth said.
"Yes, I did. But I really want to go and replace the bad memories with better ones. Besides, Cackletta's dead. She can't fuse with Bowser and become that freak of nature known as Bowletta again." Peach said.
"It doesn't matter! What if you get captured by those creatures in Teehee Valley again? That was bad enough!" Toadsworth said.
"I asked Mario and Luigi to come along! They won't let it happen!" Peach tried.
"They let you get captured by that... Bowletta creature!" Toadsworth said.
"Mario got seriously ill! And Luigi had to go out and get the cure! It wasn't their fault! And besides, we didn't know that Cackletta would somehow fuse herself with Bowser!" Peach said.
"Oh... I didn't know that." said Toadsworth, a little calmer now. But his unhappiness came back as he said, "But still...!"
"And Daisy's coming, too!" Peach added.
"Oh no..." Toadsworth said.
"Toadsworth, Daisy has only been captured once! Plus, she's a tomboy; nobody has captured her since Mario rescued her from Tatanga! She'll help Mario and Luigi keep me safe!" Peach said.
"I don't care if you asked the Justice League to come along and keep you safe! This time, I'm putting my foot down! No one is going to the Beanbean Kingdom, and that is final!" Toadsworth said.
Peach let out a frustrated sigh, but then she remembered something very important. Something that just might get Toadsworth to reconsider.
"Okay, then. Too bad, though, 'cause I called Queen Bean a few hours ago and told her we were coming. Now I'll have to tell her that we can't come. She's going to be so disappointed, but not nearly as disappointed as Lady Lima will be. I heard she was so looking forward to seeing you." Peach said, shoulders slumped.
"Lady Lima?! Oh no, I can't disappoint her! Change of plans! We're going to the Beanbean Kingdom after all!" Toadsworth said.
"We are?!" Peach asked, pretending to be surprised.
"Yes!" Toadsworth said.
"Oh joy! Thank you, Toadsworth!" Peach said, kneeling down and giving the little mushroom man a big hug.
And so ends the first chapter! I did not expect that I was going to turn this into a chapter story, but as I typed, I realized that it was getting a bit too long for a one-shot! Stay tuned!
