Author's Note: Hey, everybody! This will be a sequel, known as a third part of my friend QMDisneyPokemon14's story The Barracuda Attack. This came in my head, though, and the story takes place before the fish characters have kids (my OC's). But anyway, favs and follows are accepted. Be sure to R&R! So, thanks and I hope you enjoy this Finding Nemo one-shot! ^_^

It was a beautiful night in the Great Barrier Reef. The Tank Gang were sound asleep in their den.

Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques were sleeping next to each other; Bubbles and Deb were cuddling each other lovingly while sleeping; Gill and Peach were sound asleep together.

But all of a sudden, Peach groaned, as if she was having a nightmare.

*~(Dream Flashback)~*

The Tank Gang, Nemo, Marlin and Dory noticed the whales Destiny and Bailey coming from the barracuda incident, where the sharks Bruce, Chum and Anchor were fighting off against.

"Wait! Where are the sharks at?" Marlin asked.

"Don't worry, they're taking care of the barracuda for us," Destiny replied, but frowned as she showed Gill in her fins.

"Your friend seems to be in a horrible shape," Bailey added.

Nemo, Marlin. Dory and the Tank Gang gasped, including Nigel, the pelican, who was with them the whole time.

"We're back! The barracuda's defeated once and for all!" Bruce called.

"Thank goodness! But I am afraid that Gill isn't well! He was bitten by it," Destiny said to the sharks as she held Gill, who was breathing weakly, in her fins.

"Don't worry, mates. We'll take care of him," Chum said.

"We'll get on it with the procedure right away. To the shark lair!" Anchor said.

Later...

Nemo, Marlin, Dory, the Tank Gang, Destiny and Bailey are waiting outside of the lair to see if Gill was gonna make it through.

"Bubbles, is Gill gonna be okay?" Deb asked with concern.

"I hope so, Deb. The sharks are becoming more helpful, and friendly to us, to take care of our friend," Bubbles responded with comfort as he soothed her in his fins.

"Well, what's taking so long?" Gurgle said.

"Gurgle, knock it off!" Bloat cut Gurgle's sentence off.

"Look, I'm sorry! I was—" Gurgle finished his sentence, but Jacques sternly pointed at the two, telling them to apologize.

"Don't start the fight, you two. Our lives will be more dramatic if you keep it that way," he said.

All of a sudden, Bruce approached to the fish and whales with concern.

"Bruce, how is Gill?" Dory asked.

"Did he make it?" Destiny asked as well.

"I'm so sorry, everyone, but Gill's bite injuries from the barracuda are just to severe for the three of us to save him. I don't know how much longer he has. So I suggest that you all come in and say your goodbyes," Bruce responded.

The fish and whales gasped.

Peach was stirring and moaning while sleeping.

"No, please... no..." she groaned.

Gill sleepily opened his eyes, and saw Peach stirring. He nudged her to wake her up, feeling concerned.

"Peach? Peach, dear, wake up!"

But Peach didn't respond, and Gill felt timid of what to do.

The fish and whales followed Bruce into the lair, where Anchor and Chum were at. The sharks and whales stepped back for the fish to see Gill.

"Oh, my god! Gill, no!" Peach sobbed.

"I can't believe it!" Marlin said with sadness.

"You're really—" Bailey tried to finish his sentence.

"Darn it, Gill, you can't die!" Nemo cried out as he was by Gill's side,

"We're gonna do so many things together, go on adventures, and more! Just please, be okay!"

Hearing Nemo's voice, Gill moaned in pain, and slowly opened his eyelids.

"Hey, he's awake!" Dory said.

"What on—" Marlin said with belief.

"Gill! Oh, thank goodness! Stay with me!" Nemo cried out.

"Sharkbait, I am not well... But remember... I'll be in your heart," Gill wheezed quietly.

Nemo sighed heavily as he trembled and said,

"Yes, Gill."

"Nemo, you know how much you love me like I do, and to all your friends, do you?" Gill asked one question.

"Oh, Gill, yes! Of course I do! All of us love you!" Nemo said with a sad smile.

As he hugged his friend, Gill returned it, until he struggled to stay awake.

"You've given me a wonderful life, Sharkbait. I love you all," he said.

Then, he groaned until his unconsciousness. Chum, in shock, checked the pulse on Gill, who was motionless. As he faced his shark friend with Bruce, Anchor sadly shook his head. With a sad sigh, Chum turned to the fish and whales, including Nigel, as he said,

"I'm sorry, mates. We've lost him."

"No! It can't be!" Peach cried, and started to weep softly. As the Tank Gang members comforted Peach, Chum said again,

"We're truly sorry, mates."

"It's okay, guys. Thank you for your help," Dory said sadly.

"It's our pleasure, Dory. You're welcome," Anchor responded.

Marlin felt destroyed, as if he failed Gill, just like he failed his wife Coral and children due to a barracuda attack. But Marlin didn't want to show any emotion.

"No, NO!" Nemo shouted out as he started crying onto Gill's body.

"Oh, no! Not Gill, too! First Chuckles, and now our leader!" Deb cried in disbelief, and she began sobbing.

Bubbles reacted, and soothed her in his fins. He sniffled and held back a sob. While sobbing, Deb hugged Bubbles back and nuzzled him. Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques comforted her, just like to Peach. Marlin and Dory comforted Nemo in a group hug, too.

After thanking the sharks for help, knowing that Gill was gone, the fish and whales made their sad goodbye to Nigel, who did the same, after his sentence,

"I... I'm so sorry. Truly I am."

Then, Nigel sadly took off, flying away. Then, the fish and whales swam back into the ocean.

Back home in the Great Barrier Reef, the fish and whales put on a funeral for Gill. The Tank Gang lifted their leader's lifeless body, and placed him in the coffin, which was his size for Gill to rest in.

As they let Nemo be the first one to say goodbye to Gill, they felt devastated that their leader had passed away. After Nemo cried onto Gill's side of his body with a hug and goodbye, he lets Peach go to Gill, since the two are most likely crushes to each other.

Feeling heartbroken, Peach started to weep on Gill's side, with her starfish arms around him. She choked up in tears,

"Goodbye, Gill. My dear, our only leader... I love you so much."

As Peach kissed Gill on the face one last time, Jacques sadly puts a sea flower on Gill to hold and sniffled. He began to comfort Peach as the two paid respects for Gills The others did the same.

Marlin was comforting his son Nemo, who was crying uncontrollably. Marlin told him that Gill will be in heaven with Coral. Hearing that Gill was in a happy place with his deceased mother, Nemo starts breaking the hug and swimming away with grief. Dory comforted Marlin.

As the other Tank Gang members went to their leader's coffin, they closed the lid, and placed the coffin underground to burry it. After that, they stayed near the coffin.

Marlin and Dory joined the embrace for the Tank Gang and they all helped Bubbles comfort Deb, who was even more heartbroken than ever, but not as much as Nemo. Bubbles told Deb that Gill would be in a happy place with Chuckles, the long-dead goldfish. After weeping, Deb starts to feel a little bit better, as if she was told by him that their leader Gill would be with Chuckles, who died of being shaken.

"We're so sorry for your loss, Peach," Marlin said sadly as he approached to Peach with comfort.

"You guys are more welcome to stay in our neighborhood for the night," Dory added.

As the Tank Gang nodded, they, Marlin and Dory noticed Nemo missing. Meanwhile, Nemo was alone at the drop-off, looking at the view and crying quietly. Nemo had realized while being told that his mother, Coral and all of his siblings were eaten by a barracuda, Chuckles gone belly-up inside the bag by the fish-killing Darla Sherman in the dentist's office, and finally, worst of all, Gill killed by the same barracuda in the ocean.

The other fish approached to Nemo with comfort and concern.

"Nemo?" Jacques asked.

Nemo turned with tears as he responded,

"Hey, guys."

"We're so sorry, Nemo," Marlin said sadly.

Dory gave him his school friends Sheldon, Tad and Pearl, whose parents are here.

"We noticed your friend Gill is dead," Tad told Nemo.

"But we are here to comfort you, you'll always be our best friend," Sheldon agreed.

"You have our condolences, Nemo," Pearl said as she hugged Nemo.

Smiling with tears, Nemo hugged Pearl back as he said,

"Thank you so much, everyone! This is gonna be very hard for me to get over."

The Tank Gang approached to Nemo and his school friends.

Choking up, Bubbles said,

"We all know how you feel, Nemo."

"We're here for you, young one," Deb added as she held back a sob.

Sniffling, Gurgle added,

"Well guys, Gill is in a happy place."

Jacques sniffled as he wiped his tears away, comforing his friends, and mostly Nemo.

"Now we have no leader of our group, but Gill will always be in our hearts," Bloat sniffled.

As Peach comforted Nemo in her starfish arms, she said,

"I'm so sorry, honey. I know how you feel. Gill was a great friend of ours. So was Chuckles, his most wonderful goldfish partner in the dentist's office until his death."

The Tank Gang felt awed, and decided to promote Peach as their new leader. Marlin and Dory joined the embrace.

"Like I said, son, Gill will be in a happy place, with your mother, and even all your siblings; they will be remembered by us," Marlin said as he soothed his son.

"We'll always think of them, and even Chuckles, too," Dory added with comfort.

As Nemo smiled with tears, his school friends, along with their parents, Marlin, Dory and the Tank Gang members were at an embrace of comfort. Nemo thanked Peach tor all of this reassurance, and promoted her as the new leader of the Tank Gang, who already did so, including Marlin and Dory.

They were all hoping that their beloved, aging leader Gill, who used to call Nemo 'Sharkbait', will be remembered, along with his deceased goldfish partner Chuckles, and Coral, the deceased female clownfish who used to be Nemo's mother, and Marlin's wife.

*~(End of Dream Flashback)~*

"Peach!" Gill cried.

With a cry, Peach shot up, awake while panting. As Gill blushed while feeling one of Peach's starfish arms touching his skin, Gill asked,

"Are you okay, Peach?"

With sadness, Peach sobbed her eyes out and said,

"Gill, honey, it was worse! We tried to save you from that barracuda, and once we tried to heal you since we did to our injuries, you... you didn't make it!"

Then, Peach wept softly after these words as she hugged her kind moorish idol friend. With concern, Gill reassured his loving starfish friend back. His left fin was smoothing her back.

"Hey, it's okay, Peach. It's just a bad dream," Gill soothed Peach with compassion.

"Really?" Peach asked with tears.

Gill sadly nodded as he said,

"Indeed. I won't ever leave you, hon."

Smiling, Gill kissed Peach on the face with a nuzzle.

"Thank you! I love you, Gill," Peach said with a tearful smile.

"I love you, too, Peach," Gill responded with a chuckle.

Then, they leaned a kiss. After that, Gill and Peach noticed the other Tank Gang members: Bubbles, Deb, Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques were still sound asleep near them, the two smiled, and eventually fell back to sleep.
