Second Feeling

We've let the blade of innocence dull over time, and it's only innocence that you find any kind of magic, and any kind of courage.

Queen Elsa of Arendelle was busy today. After the Great Thaw, her people accepted who she was. She was grateful for that. Every day in her room she sat in her bay window, wishing one day she would be free. One day everything will be back to normal so that she will see her sister soon. There was even a time when she thought that she should give up and end everything and let her family be happy again.

After her people accepted her rule, she made an oath to always do the best for Arendelle. She worked her best. Her sister would always come around to pull her out from her study and insist to take a rest. She is always thankful to Anna for forgiving her for everything she had done to her in the past. She never thought anyone could forgive her for that. But her sister, she was the one who lifted her up from the dark.

Her mind is a mess. Her anxiety and panic attacks are always frequent. But everything will be gone when her sister gives her a warm hug. She would just melt in that, savoring every second in it.

While signing her reports, she lifted her hand up to grab the tea which was near her. As she was fully focused on her , touched the teacup instead of the handle.

"Aah!", she took away her hand with a flinch. She rubbed her fingers and looked at the teacup that burned her fingers. It was hot. A sudden curiosity caused her to touch the teacup again. This time she touched it with her index finger. And when she did, her cold fingers turned hot. She was in awe for what the hot tea had done to her finger. Heat was something she never felt for thirteen years. She never had the chance to feel anything since she was wearing the gloves.

She then ran her hand on the desk where she had kept her papers. It was smooth. It was a very different feeling. It wasn't itchy like when she was wearing the gloves. Her hands were free. She ran her hands on the smooth surface. Her eyes went wide, she had a huge smile on her face. She had such an innocence in this.

Then she stood up and took one of her dresses and felt it. It was a cotton dress. And again she ran her fingers through it. It was soft and fluffy. Her fingers tickled at the sensation. She laughed at that. For thirteen years she has missed this touch. It was a wonderful feeling. And out of interest she took her next dress. It was softer and smoother than cotton. It didn't tickle but it felt amazing. It had a lustrous feel. She didn't stop. Her free hands moved throughout that nylon gown.

She moved to her desk again. She picked a book. She didn't care what the book was about. She felt the book. It was smooth again. After the isolation books were her best friends. She read every book her parents would give her. But she never had the occasion to know what it felt like. She turned the pages hearing the sound it made. She ran her fingers through the pages, smiling brightly. These things made her want to touch everything in her room and know what it felt like.

She took the pillow that she would use to hug to comfort herself. She took it and saw that it was softer than she imagined. She hugged it again. It made her feel comforted and secure. It made her forget the stress and worries. It made her relax every muscle in her. She just melted with it.

But she wanted to try a new thing. She took her lantern and made her way to the attic. She looked around to see where her belongings were. She made a triumphant smile when she found her box. She opened it to see her rowed gloves. There were so many. She placed the lantern by her side and knelt down. She took one of the gloves and touched it. It was such a wonderful feeling. Her gloves were shiny, soft and smooth on one side and matte and dull on the other side.

She always wore these to keep her powers so that it won't hurt anyone. She always wore this so that her family would be safe from her. But she never knew how luxurious it felt. She took another one and rubbed it together. It was slippery. She giggled in pure innocence. She never thought she had many amazing things to learn and feel.

"Elsa?", she heard her sister call. "What are you doing here? Why are you having those gloves?" She didn't hear those questions but she looked at her with thankful eyes. It was all because of Anna. If Anna didn't save her from the fear, she would have never experienced this wonderful feeling. She couldn't open her mouth to thank her. Her throat went dry and she made a whimper. She felt tears fall from her eyes. She couldn't stop them. Everything in front of her became blurry because of the tears that clouded her eyes.

But then her breath hitched when she felt two soft arms around her and pulled her close. And oh this feeling was wonderful. This made her cry. This made her cry because this feel was filled with love, affection and care. She buried her face in her sister's neck. She still had the gloves in her hand. She felt her sister kiss her hair. She brought her hands around her sister's torso. She never wanted this to end. She felt Anna's hands run through her hair. It made her sleepy.

She opened her mouth again, trying to thank her little sister. "Shh", a shaft voice came. "I'm here Elsa. And I won't let you go.", that voice said. Elsa did nothing but melt in that hug which was fuzzy and warm. She knew Anna wouldn't let her go. So she just stayed there with her sister until the last minute before she closed her eyes into a dreamless sleep. Thank you Anna.
