PROLOGUE
(The following events take place two hundred years after Hellraiser: Bloodline and seven years after Star Trek Voyager's Endgame.)
He did it. It was the year 2127 and after four hundred years of suffering at the behest of the mysterious puzzle box, it was coming to an end. The brooding and obsessed Paul Merchant, tech-savvy prodigy and distant descendant of toymaker Philip LeMarchand, accomplished the inconceivable - he destroyed Hell's demonic figurehead known as Pinhead and his hellish force of Cenobites aboard The MINOS, a space station which Merchant had designed solely for such a purpose. The mission did not come without a price, of course. It had claimed the lives of a crew of mercenaries who were sent to the station to intervene in Merchant's attempts to stop Pinhead, not believing his motives for what he was doing.
The battle which ensued between Pinhead and Merchant proved to be bloody and difficult, but Merchant succeeded with his mission using The Elysium Configuration, destroying Pinhead, sealing the gates to Hell, and ending the suffering once and for all. Or so it seemed.
The remains of the station that was destroyed would go unnoticed to everyone involved except to the all-encompassing cold abyss of endless space. Out of the wreckage, a tiny box would emerge, floating adrift. It would drift off in its uncharted course, untouched and unscathed. Its pristine conditions - a mystery as perplexing as its origins were to so many throughout the centuries.
The small box would drift off into its course...
on...
and on...
and on and endlessly on...
... for two hundred years up until the year 2385. It would find its way aboard a massive vessel, oddly enough resembling the small box itself. The vessel was none other than a Borg cube, another cause of much anguish to countless other worlds who'd suffered devastation as well as assimilation by the mechanical Borg race. The cube would easily dwarf the MINOS in size. And to many who'd fought in resistance against the Borg, the mere sight of one of these cubes meant the end.
