I hope you enjoy my next section spin off of Chance Meeting. This one was fun to write.

Chapter 1-A dream Diner internship

Lynn and David got home around 5 on Sunday. It had been an amazing weekend filled with love and lots of surprises and so much good food and good family too. David had decided he should call Hector and see if he was onboard with going with him on Tuesday. He knew Hector had to find an internship and really wanted to work in a diner.

David pickled up his phone called Hector, "Hey Hector. How was your weekend?"

"It was good quiet. How was your weekend?"

"It was amazing. We got a card in the mail about a month ago that gave a time and date and to wear formal wear and a Limo would be picking us up at this time and to pack a bag for the weekend. We went in blind but it was amazing. It was for a destination wedding for my younger brother in New York City. They were married Saturday night with 17 of us present."

Hector replied, "Wow! That sounds so much better than my boring weekend. I was just happy to catch up on my wash and sleep."

David said, "It was amazing. No one had any idea what they were there for but once the music changed and we were asked to stand there wasn't a dry eye in the place. But you will never guess the most amazing part."

"Ok now you have me intrigued. Please don't keep in suspense. It sounds like a great time," Said Hector.

"Well you know how my dream is to intern at the Dragonfly Inn and work with Sookie St. James?"

"Yeah! That's who you talk about all the time."

"Well Finn, my brother married a girl by the name of Rory Gilmore. Her mom is co-owner of the Dragonfly Inn in Stars Hollow with Sookie St. James. Lorelai, her mom told me the internship is mine if I want it. Family helps family and you are family is what she said. I was flabbergasted and said yes I want it. It is my dream internship. I told her my interview for my internship application was set with her on Tuesday and she told me to come check it out and talk to Sookie. We all started talking and her fiance owns a Diner in Stars Hollow and is looking for help. I told him that you would be interested in interning with him. Luke made sure that I understood that it's a small diner in a small town. I told him that's what you are looking for. Someplace to cut your teeth before you go out on your own. Anyway are you available to come with me on Tuesday to go talk to Luke? Can you believe it? Right place, right time or something. I might have just won the lottery or at least it feels that way."

Hector excitedly said, "Holy shit. Yes I am available to come with you on Tuesday. Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you! What time are they expecting us?"

"Lorelai told me to come about 11:30 and she would show me around the Dragonfly and then we could go over to Luke's for lunch. Can you believe it? I still don't think it sunk in yet. Would that work for you? I hope I didn't overstep by setting up the meeting for you," said David.

"No, I appreciate you setting it up for me. I am not sure why but I don't seem to be getting any callbacks for any applications for internships that I have put in. Seems weird I am sure people are hiring but no one wants me."

"Well Luke seemed interested. Do you have a pen and paper so I can give you his numbers? Lorelai said he is kinda old school and doesn't do email or texting. He said to call him and you could work out a time to talk on Tuesday."

"I can handle old school and not being attached to a computer or a phone for a while. That should be the worst of it right? Yes I have a pen and paper. Shoot me the number. Thanks again."

David gave Hector the number. He made plans to call David after he spoke to Luke.
