Hello guys so this story came to me because I have been feeling a little blue and I've always hated the idea of Bella never getting mad at Edward for the horrible things Edward said.
Summary: Edward has been gone for a month. Charlie is scared for Bella but understands her pain. He's able to contact Carlisle and tells him to drag Edward back.
Charlie pov
The Cullen's have been gone for a month and I'm going mad, I don't know what the hell happen between Bella and that Cullen boy but my poor daughter has been in so much pain, brings me memories of the days after her mom left. I knew this could happen, the Cullen's looked like people of the world, I was afraid Bella wouldn't be able to follow but I didn't think it would happen so soon.
She isn't eating or talking and those awful nightmares, as much as I hate to admit it she needs to see him get closure or get back together, though my shotgun and that boy would have a talk.
I had been calling every hospital in LA for Carlisle Cullen but no one knew any one by that name, could've got it wrong.
"Chief Swan how is something wrong"— The ER nurse asked me. — "No, nothing bad Stephanie but I need to talk to Dr. Gerandy."— "I'll call him"
The whole town had been shock to find out the Cullen's just packed up and left, especially after how Bella was found, hell even I was ready to hunt them down for how they left my baby, but thankfully Bella told us that she had gone for a hike and got lost. The witness believed her but I knew my daughter, she couldn't lie for shit. Dr. Brown asked her if she knew that the Cullen's were leaving and she said they had been taking about it for a while. Again another lie.
"Charlie, what can I do for you?"
"Tom, I need a way to contact Carlisle Cullen"
He narrowed his eyes at me, "Bella isn't better?" –He was the only one that knew of Bella's condition, after two weeks of her not eating I needed some help. – "She needs closure, I need to find them". He sigh— "I only have a phone number, we had been working on a patient together am supposed to update him, the last checkup was this week so perhaps you still have an opportunity to leave a message"
So he doesn't use the phone? Who the hell are the Cullen's?
I followed him to his office— "I hope it helps"
I nodded, so did i.
It was late at night when I decided to call them; I waited for Bella to go to bed.
I dial the number –"Carlisle this is Charlie Swan, this might be strange but your son needs to come back, I don't know how he broke this up with Bella or what the hell he said but my daughter is dying Carlisle, she's not herself anymore and I know it was your sons doing. You also have daughters so I hope you understand my anger. Goodbye Carlisle."
Ok it's done, if Carlisle has honor he will make this happen.
The days passed, Bella was only getting worse I hope no one in school noticed, I had Miss Cope monitoring her, if those children realize the pain she's been she will be a target, Bells doesn't need that. A couple of days before Halloween I received the call I had been waiting for.
"Chief, I have Carlisle Cullen in the line"
"Put him through"
"Chief, I received your message, what's going on with Bella?"
"What's wrong with my daughter? Your son is what's wrong with her I have no idea what the hell he did to her Carlisle; Bella has been lying for all of you. She admits you had talked about leaving but I know that's not true. SHES LYING TO PROTECT HIM, why I don't know? But I need him to come back and be A FUKING MAN."
"Charlie, I don't know what he said to her, I'm not going to lie to you, our exit was done out of the blue, it was an offer that I couldn't refuse, yes some member of my family didn't desire the change but we are a family we do things together. Edward said they broke up because they had no desire to make a long distance relationship work"
"Well I think that is bullshit, because that decision based on my daughter was not mutual"
"Where is he?"
"Charlie, this breakup didn't went well with him either, he left us he needed time to think"
I laughed bitterly, the little fucker needed time to think—"I don't give a fuck Carlisle I need him to get here, but I want to talk to him first men to men"
"Charlie…"
"Find him Carlisle because I swear to god I will hunt him down and I know you don't need a cop breathing down your neck"
There was silenced from him but I could hear hush voices from behind—"The threat is real Carlisle and well you said it yourself you're a family, I know you're not in LA and I have friends from the academy that are very well establish in the Bureau"
"Give me a phew days"
"Very well, say hello to Esme for me"
I hang up. That went well let's see what Edward Cullen is made of.
Carlisle Pov
After Charlies call ended chaos started.
"Carlisle what the hell did Edward do?"— My dear wife had been one of those who fought the move. –"Did we do the wrong thing?"
Did we? I was starting to think we did— "Let's hope not Esme, Edward wanted to protect Bella and we wanted to support our son"
Rosalie and Emmet were the only one in the house, Emmett was trying to control the anger Rose was unleashing in the garage, "NO EMMETT I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN ALL BECAUSE OF THAT STUPID HUMAN"
This was going to be difficult. Rosalie was glad to get rid of Bella, one less problem to avoid according to her, I love my daughter but she was so into her head she didn't realize the decision of leaving was killing Edward.
"Rosalie stop"
She was in my face – "NO CARLISLE, I won't stop Charlie just threated to call the fucking FBI all because the human girl suffered a break up."
"Rosalie you don't know how Bella is, not only did I received a call from Charlie I also received a message from Dr Gerandy apparently Bella isn't eating, sleeping and she's having nightmares, she's showing signs of ptsd and complaining of chest pains, Tom wasn't happy he thinks that whatever happen between Edward and Bella set her off."
Rosalie huffed, "She's being stupid and Edward leaving her was the best that could happen to her, now she gets to have a real life"
Oh my poor daughter, no one hated our existing more than Rosalie— "Rose I believe Bella is behaving like this because she's Edwards mate"
That got Emmett and Esmes attention, - "Then why did he leave?"
"I don't think he knows she's her mate, I believe he knows Bella loves him but not with the same conviction as he loves her, Bella is clearly showing signs of pain from being apart from her mate. She reminds me of Marcus, after Didyme died he had no desire to feed, he was becoming paranoid remembering her death all the time, he withdraw into himself."
"She's human Carlisle"—Rosalie huffed
"Yes, so was Emmett and you felt a pull towards him, so was Esme when I met her"
"Rosie try to understand, we need to get him back"
"What is this fascination with the human, Edward left and we should leave it alone. We can stop using the Cullen name for a dozen of years, we can even leave the country"— she glared at her husband.
I was about to speak when Esme interrupted me— "NO! Edward will go back and ask for forgiveness once he apologizes we are going back to apologize ourselves for leaving Bella, yes we wanted to support our son and in the process we hurt our daughter"
"Your daughter?"— Rosalie spat
"Yes Rosalie, my daughter that girl made my son Happy and we all know it. The circumstances in how their love came to flourish weren't typical but it was real. Edward has never felt these emotions himself he's confused; he's always believed himself to be some sort of monster that didn't deserve anything.
He was stupid and ended up hurting his mate and himself in the process and we as a family failed them both. So you will shut your mouth and be a supportive sister the same way he supported you when you decided to bring Emmett into this family.
Emmett start calling Edward let's hope he picks up, tell him nothing I will speak with him myself and Rosalie call Alice and tell her we need her I don't care if Jasper is feeling inadequate tell her to drag him back if she needs to"
It took us a couple of hours to get Alice and Jasper, they had been staying with our relatives in Denali, Eleazar immediately called me to give me his opinion on Bella being human and after a long talk he assure me that if we trusted Bella to keep our secret then they would trust her to.
"Eleazar is Alice around we need…"
"They went hunting, is everything ok?"
"No, that stup…
I took the phone away from her— "Go help Emmett and watch what you say"
"Hello Eleazar"
"Carlisle what is going on my friend?"
I told him everything we knew about Bella's situation—"Your right, I believe she's feeling the loss of her mate, the bond must be quite strong if she's able to feel it even as a human"— I could hear Tanya in the back— " I'm with Rosalie, This Bella is just going through a typical human break up, by the end of the month she will cut her hair and be over it"
Before I could answer her Eleazar scolded her — "This is Cullen family matter Tanya I didn't hear Carlisle asking for you opinion. Ahh here comes Alice, it was nice talking my friend please keep us updated, let's hope this situation gets fix."
"Thank you, sent my regards to Carmen"
"Carlisle I know, we were too far away we turn around once you decided to make the call. I don't know what's going to happen but keep calling, he will answer soon and make sure it's Esme that talks to him. We will be back in two days just a couple of hours before him"
And with that she hanged up. Like Alice said he answered after 300 calls from all of us.
Edward answer around dawn— "What Emmett, I told everyone to leave me alone"
"Edward this is your mother I need you to come back"
"Esme i…
"Edward Anthony Mason Cullen IDON'T GIVE a FUCK what you want, this isn't about you anymore so you better be here tomorrow, don't make me hunt you down"
The boy knew better then to miss with Esme.
"I will be there"
We all stare at her in shock. – "Go do something, she said dismissing Emmett and Rosalie"
Edward pov
It's been almost two months that I left my Angel, I have never wished to part ways with her but I couldn't keep putting her life in danger not leaving after James was a mistake, our summer had been wonderful and I knew then Bella was falling more in love with me but seeing my worst nightmare come to live was excruciating, if any member of my family hurt her I would kill them and that would destroy my family.
Bella is better off without me.
I had started hunting Victoria that was the last thing I would do for my angel making sure she was safe wherever she went. I was currently in Texas. My phone had been ringing all day but i knew who it was, I couldn't talk to them now they would get tired eventually.
After almost 24 hrs of the phone ringing I answered.
"Emmett, I told everyone to leave me alone"
"Edward this is your mother I need you to come back"
No, I wasn't going back.
"Esme i…
"Edward Anthony Mason Cullen IDON'T GIVE a FUCK what you want, this isn't about you anymore so you better be here tomorrow, don't make me hunt you down"
I stared at the phone in shock, what the hell is going on.
"I will be there"— I closed the phone. It wasn't about me then who is it about?. Perhaps Jasper went wild. Aughh I needed to speak with my brother he's been feeling guilty.
One problem at a time Edward. I decided to take the plane to New York it would be quicker.
I was a couple of miles away from the house when I heard them
"He's almost here, clear your mind"
"Rosalie, if you know what's good for you, keep your mouth and mind quiet" – My mother told her
-Stupid Edward and his damn problems ruining our life – that was the last I heard before she started naming type of cars.
Everyone mind was in the same way, songs, medical journals, recreating the civil war. I walked into the dining room where I found everyone sitting next to their significant other. The pain in my chest burn, even more then my thirst.
"Edward son it's good to see you"— I narrow my eyes at Carlisle
"EDWARD, stop looking at your father like that and sit down this is important" – Esme said pointing at the single chair at the end of the table and for a moment I pictured what it would feel if my angel was here with me.
"Sorry Esme" – I whispered.
"Carlisle do you mind"—she asked Carlisle. This was bad, normally is Carlisle who talks in the family meetings, he nodded.
"Sit"—she ordered—"Edward, leaving Forks was a mistake"
I got up- "NO! You all know why we left, Bella is better off without us, she can have a normal life, everything we want, she can get it."
"What did you tell her, how did you break up with her?"— Esme stared me down.
"Why is that irrelevant?"
-Because is giving us shit …
I stared at Rosalie, she realize her slip "What do you mean Rosalie?"
Esme looked at Rosalie and then at me— "Edward look at me, how did you broke it up with Isabella and don't you dare lie to me"
I couldn't tell them, I knew what I had done. It was horrible but I knew she wasn't going to let me leave.
Jasper looked at me sensing my guilt.— " Edward…
I growled at him, he better keep his mouth shut.—"Jasper what is he feeling?" – Carlisle asked. –
"Guilt"— I glared at him, bastard could've kept his mouth shot. My anger made him lower his head.
Edward stop, his already feeling bad he doesn't need you making it worse hes truly sorry and he will regret his slip for eternity.
It was Rosalie who understood— "You broke her heart"— for the first time Rosalie was actually concerned for Bella and then I saw it Charlie.
"Charlie called?"— I asked skeptical, Carlisle nodded.
"I left a phone number to doctor Gerandy I told him to leave me a massage if he needed help with the patients I left behind. He gave it to Charlie."
I saw red—"WHAT HAPPEN TO LEAVING NOTHING BEHIND CARLISLE, NO PAPER TRAIL"
"Bella is dying"— Emmett said— "All because of us, well you and jasper fault"
I stared at Emmett and he opened his mine. He showed me the entire conversation with Charlie. Bella was supposed to move on. She was supposed to live. The pain in my chest grew; I hurt her, because of me she's fading away. What have I done?
The family was yelling at each other. Jasper let his head hit the table making it crack. The entire room felt his guilt— "Shh Jazzy no one here blames you, Emmett didn't mean it in that way"
"Us?"—Rosalie snarled at Emmett—"Yes us"—he said— "please Emmett…
"NO, enough Rosalie, Bella my sister is in pain because of us. The only thing Bella did was fall in love with her soul mate the fact he was a vampire was out of her control, she was doing the best she could to adjust. She accepted all of us.
You treated her like shit just because she wasn't doing what you wanted, I love you babe and I understand your pain for this life but not everyone wants the same things. You could've done a little bit more of an effort to accept the women your brother had chosen, the same courtesy he give me" – Rosalie looked ashamed at his word, it was very rare for Emmett to go against his mate.— " I tried emm…" – he shook his head— " No you didn't babe you didn't meet her when he brought her to the house, you insulted her when her life was in danger, you decided to have a vacation last summer because the family decided to do activities Bella could participate in, so we left while the rest got to meet her"
"I'm sorry…" - " You don't need to say that to me babe I know you are"
I thought he was done but then he turn to Jasper, who flinched feeling Emmett's anger—"You, I know how hard it is to control your thirst but for fucking hell Jasper she is your brothers mate a little bit more of self-control. You know very well that if you would've killed her he would've destroyed you, killing Alice in the process. You disappear right after it happen you didn't even apologize and Bella being fucking weird I'm sure doesn't even blame you.
I stared at him—"My mate..." no Bella is human
"Yes you idiot your mate, Bella is your fucking mate so now tell us what the hell did you tell her because according to Charlie she's fucking dying and she's not even talking to anyone because she can't."
I shook my head I couldn't tell them— "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU TELL HER?"
"I TOLD HER I DIDN'T WANT HER, THAT I WAS TIRED OF PRETENDING BEING HUMAN THAT WE DIDN'T WANT HER TO COME WITH US."- I killed my love.
Everyone was silent.
-Oh Edward what did you do…
-we have to go back; I have to tell Bella I'm sorry…
-my friend needs me and I abandoned her…
- Even I know that was fucked up Edward you threw her insecurities in her face …
"She wasn't going to let me go."
"That's your excuse?"— Esme said
"She believed me" – I started sobbing, Esme looked at me with so much emotion—" Shes human edward perhaps for her it made sense at the moment, now you need to go back and make it right
"She will hate me" – "Perhaps she will, perhaps not."
Carlisle walked up to me—"Son Charlie wants to speak with you first"
I nodded.
"We leave in three hours. We will hunt when we get back. Carlisle its better if only you and Edward meet Charlie"— Alice said
My entire body was frozen. Emmett had to drag me to the car and across the airport not even the beating hearts of the dozens of humans around us bothered me. I was getting closer to my angel and I'm going to get her to forgive me, even if I have to get in my knees and supplicate.
Sooooo this was supposed to be a One-shot a very long One-shot but I changed my mind maybe I can do some chapters.
