Chapter 1 – Awakening
In the two decades that has passed since Lilith left Britain, life has been peaceful. At least as far as South Korea was concerned. Britain, on the other hand, had received an explosive article by Rita Skeeter about Dumbledore in the wake of his death; and there was quite the uproar when Rita was arrested shortly after. Amelia Bones had one hell of a job explaining that it wasn't the content of the article that had led to the arrest, but rather the fact that she had acquired that information by illegal methods. Skeeter was revealed as an unregistered Animagus, and was punished accordingly, but the conspiracy rumors continued despite Amelia's best efforts. Then, when whatever enchantment Dumbledore had used to make people forget about Lilith wore off, just in time for Skeeter's release from Azkaban, Amelia finally relented and gave a statement. Amelia was careful not to give any indication that even hinted that Lilith may actually be alive still; allowing the public to believe that the girl-thought-to-be-a-boy had died never knowing who she truly was.
Lilith had never made any move to prove otherwise, though Ron and Hermione had both kept in touch with their families. Ron had married a lovely Korean woman, and had taken her name since he was staying in South Korea. He was now a professional Quidditch player, and captain for his favorite team since childhood, but that also meant he wasn't home very often, and, with his wife deceased, their now teenage son was living alone. Hermione was a teacher at the Korean School of Magic, and was a full blown workaholic while her husband owned a security firm. They had a son the same age, and the two boys had been best friends since they first met as babies. The two boys were High School Students now, and Lilith got to see them both every school day as the Head Secretary and Deputy to the Principal/Chairman of Ye Ran High School, a man she had married on her seventeenth birthday. Frankenstein was a good millennia and a half older than her, but she had fallen for him, hard, at the age of 14, and she loved him more than she had ever hoped she could love anyone, and she was happier than she had ever hoped she would be. Frankenstein was a wonderful uncle to their nephews as well, although, had it not been for their precious House-elves, the mess would've probably driven the blond mad. He was such a neat-freak.
Physically, Lilith had stopped aging some time in her mid-twenties, and she now wore her hair short, reaching just past the crook of her neck, and she kept her patch of silver hair in a small braid. She had long since gotten used to the dress-code at work, but had gotten a suit with pants because she could never get comfortable with that particular type of skirt; it was too restricting. She never got the hang of high-heels either, sticking to shoes she could run in if necessary. The need to be prepared for fighting at any moment had never truly left her; and there was something strange in the air today. It was a calm morning, and the students would soon be arriving for another day of classes. There was little paperwork, so Lilith was sitting on a couch in her husband's office, reading a pile of letters while sipping her tea. She still kept in touch with the few magic-people she could trust.
"Any interesting news?" Frankenstein asked almost absentmindedly from his desk.
"Well, Ginny finally outnumbered her mother, having popped out baby number eight. If she keeps this up she'll never have the Quidditch career she'd been dreaming of." Lilith said nonchalantly.
"I'm surprised she's still officially considered a Harpy (AN 1)." Frankenstein said. "She can't have much time between childcare and treatment."
"I still can't believe she actually married that dullard, McLaggen." Lilith said with a bit of amusement. "Got himself fired from the Auror Department too."
"About god damn time they got tired of his bullshit." She added silently. She had heard so many stories about that man over the years that she almost feels like she was there to see it, although she's never even met him. "Guess he ran out of rookies to blame for his incompetence."
She then blinked as she realized something. "…I'm actually going to miss hearing about his failures." She said somewhat surprised.
Frankenstein chuckled; he too had found those stories entertaining. "I'm sure there will be more stories to come, Love." He said.
"Dru and Dryad (AN 2) are in the Amazon, looking for rare plants with potential healing qualities; and Oracle…" Lilith continued, but hesitated, holding Luna's letter. "…Well, I suppose she's just being usual herself… I never understand her hints until her predictions hit me in the face."
"What did she tell you this time?" Frankenstein asked curiously.
"The rose has bloomed.'" Lilith quoted. "I don't even know where to begin to interpret that one. Also, we'll apparently be adopting a bunch of animals in the near future."
"Oh?" Frankenstein raised an eyebrow. "What kind?"
"She mentioned a puppy, a kitten, and an eagle, but hints at more." Lilith said. "I guess Hedwig will have to get used to sharing her box. In the off chance Oracle means it literally."
Hedwig, being a bonded familiar, received an extended lifespan when Lilith awakened her inhuman side, and Frankenstein had built her a special bird box that she could come and go from as she pleased, and had a door leading to the living room where she had a perch in a corner, should she wish to be inside for a bit.
"Padfoot and Suyi says 'hello' from Berlin." Lilith continued. Ignoring a little tickle of her senses. As long as she didn't sense any malicious intent she would just assume one of the Inhumans in town got a little excited.
Sirius had finally received his long-awaited trial about a year after 'Harry's' death, thanks to Amelia, and had been a free man since. He had joined Remus as a teacher at the Korean magic school, where Remus taught other werewolves in a special program to help those newly turned adapt to their newfound abilities, teaching them alongside children born to werewolf parents and were coming into their heritage. The two men had actually gotten married not long ago, and had adopted a now-teenage daughter together. Suyi was an idol in Korea and a semi-popular model in the rest of the world, and Sirius was her manager. Though Sirius also worked part time at the Korean magic school, teaching Animagi Transformation, an elective at the school, but also aided in classes for Inhumans whom had abilities to transform similarly to Animagi, since the practice overlapped. They had blood-adopted Suyi after it was discovered that Sirius had lost his ability to sire children thanks to his time in Azkaban, and Remus had lost all interest in women after the last woman he was interested in had doused him with a Love Potion. Nymphadora Tonks had been influenced by Molly, who was still brainwashed at the time, and that was the reason for why she hadn't been reinstated right away. In the end, both Nymphadora and her mother were reinstated though, after the former fulfilled the conditions she had to meet, and the Black Family seemed to be thriving.
Lilith looked at her watch. "The boys should have arrived by now." She said, standing up. "I think I'll go and say 'hello'. Do you need me to get anything while I'm out?"
"I'm fine, thank you." Her husband said.
"I'll be back shortly, then." Lilith said, leaving the office.
In truth, Lilith had that same inhuman presence tickling her senses again, searching for something. The source of the presence had stopped right outside the school gates, and seemed to be sticking around. As she got closer, and focusing on the presence, she realized the source was not only very, very powerful, but also ancient. She hadn't realized it at first, but at some point it clicked in her head that the presence was identical to the faint aura that covered Frankenstein like a thin veil.
"Could this be the one Frankenstein has been looking for all these years?" She wondered.
Frankenstein's Master, the Noblesse, had disappeared without a trace 820 years ago, and Lilith would sometimes have to cover her husband's work while he followed a lead, as rare as that occurrence was.
"Figures he'd be the one to find us." She thought with amusement as she spotted the figure standing by the gates.
The man looked young enough to be a high school student, with shoulder-length black hair and blood red eyes, but Lilith knew the man was older than even Frankenstein.
"Cadis Etrama di Raizel, I presume." She said, catching the man's attention. He looked at her, eyes slightly wide, but otherwise neutral. She could tell that he had recognized his name, but, while he didn't know the language yet, his telepathic ability allowed him to understand what she was saying anyway. "My name is Lilith Rose Loyard, I'm Frankenstein's wife. Please, follow me."
Lilith then motioned for the man to follow her as she started walking towards the main building, and the man followed silently. "Welcome to Ye Ran High School." She continued, knowing that hearing the language would help him learn it faster. "A modern-day Academia, where children come to learn."
On their way they saw Mr. Park, better known as Pedro, the large, intimidating math teacher, standing over a group of students who sat on the ground close to the school's track fields. He was a frightening man with a powerful presence and a cross-shaped scar on his forehead.
"To be late when I'm guarding the front gate." They heard Mr. Park say ominously. "I can't let you off that easily."
He walked back and forth in front of the nervous students with a large stick in his hand, though the stick was mostly for show, and for giving certain repeat-offenders a little tap on the head. It didn't really hurt, but it wasn't exactly a gentle 'pat' either. Lilith's nephew, Shinwoo Han, who had had inherited Ron's tendency to arrive late, and had arrived late yet again today, could attest for that. Lilith also noticed Raizel was watching intently as they walked past, and Lilith gave Mr. Park a wave, indicating he didn't have to worry about the 'unknown student' following her.
"Don't worry." Lilith told Raizel. "Mr. Park looks menacing, but he really cares about the students. The rules state that the students have to be on school-grounds at a certain time, and normal procedure is to lock the gates, which prevents those who arrive even a few minutes late from entering. These students receive a mark on their school-records, which impacts them negatively when those students later apply for higher education or even future jobs. Here at Ye Ran, the Staff take turns watching the gate to make sure the students arrive on time, and everyone has their own ways of dealing with students who arrive late. They use alternative forms of discipline, and though Mr. Park is strict, and his punishment might seem a bit harsh, he also has the lowest late-attendance rate amongst the staff because the students do their best to avoid being late when he's on guard-duty."
Raizel nodded, and they continued towards the Chairman's office. Once there, Lilith knocked and opened the door. Frankenstein looked up from his work to see Lilith motion for someone to walk inside. His eyes widened as he saw who it was, and his chair toppling over as he stood with a start.
"It…can't be…" He stuttered.
"It's been a while…" Raizel said with a smile. "…Frankenstein."

"Have you been well, My Lord?" Frankenstein asked. Having regained his composure and greeted his master appropriately.
"I have recently awoken." Raizel said, accepting the cup of tea Lilith had prepared for him. "How long have I been asleep?"
"He's been asleep all this time? That suggests a Healing Sleep, but to last that long he must have been at the brink death's door. What, or who, has that kind of power, to affect the Noblesse in such a way?" Lilith thought, knowing her husband was thinking the same thing before he answered.
"I last saw you 820 years ago, Master." Frankenstein said. "I have spent centuries searching for your whereabouts, without success. I apologize for my incompetence."
"820 years." Raizel repeated, realizing how much time has passed. "I've been sleeping… for a long time…"
Lilith could sympathize. She could only imagine how she would feel in his place; to know that all your loved ones moved on with their lives without you. At least, in her case, all her human friends would be long gone, and, while she would mourn their passing, she didn't have to live with them becoming, possibly, completely different people over the years instead.
Lilith turned to her husband. "Shall I begin the preparations we spoke about?" She asked.
They knew Raizel would need to be brought up to speed about the world and Lilith had offered to tutor him until he met the educational requirements that Ye Ran was known for. He didn't seem to have any problems with the language, but he was going to need more than that to understand the subjects taught at the school.
"I would appreciate it." Frankenstein said smiling as he turned to his master. "Master, Lilith has offered to tutor you, so that you may have a smooth adaption to present society. Is this alright with you?"
"… I would like to learn about this changed world I've left behind." Raizel said affirmatively.
"I'm glad." Frankenstein said.
Lilith smiled at her husband before turning to Raizel. "Would Sir Raizel also like to learn magical subjects?" She asked. Causing the Noble to blink at the unfamiliar term.
"My Lilith was born a human sorceress, before she awakened her inhuman heritage." Frankenstein explained. "Our two nephews are magically gifted as well."
"You don't have to decide now." Lilith said. "I'll introduce you to the magical world so that you may see it before you decide if you wish to learn."
Raizel nodded. He seemed curious, but also cautious, as sorcerers had a reputation to be rather hostile towards inhumans, back in the day.
Lilith seemed to sense this. "The majority of my people have changed from what you knew, Sir Raizel." She said reassuringly. "Though the magical societies in the west have much to learn still."
Raizel could sense a deep-rooted dislike hidden behind her words as she spoke that last part, but nodded anyway, willing to give the Sorceress, and her people, a chance. He trusted Frankenstein's judgement, after all.
"Lilith." Frankenstein said gaining his wife's attention. "May I ask you to retrieve Master's shrine while I take care of the paperwork?"
"Of course." Lilith said. "I'll be back shortly."
Raizel was surprised to see Lilith turn on the spot and vanish with a soft 'crack', and turned to his servant with an inquiring look.
Frankenstein smiled. "It's called 'Apparition', Master; a form of near-instant form of travel." He explained. "I don't recommend being a passenger thought; it's quite an unpleasant experience, I'm afraid."
Raizel nodded with a newfound interest in learning more about magic-users; information about their people was outdated already 800 years ago, and the Nobles had, quite frankly, been disinterested in them, thinking their abilities were simply the result of mixed breeding between humans and inhumans. Sorcerers were seen as individuals with power, not as a separate species or sub-species that congregated into their own society as Lilith had hinted at. Lilith, in the meantime, tracked Raizel's aura-residue to a new apartment building she had kept an eye on. In the four months since it was finished, not one apartment had been sold despite enormous interest, and no matter how much she looked, she couldn't find the owner; it was like the person didn't exist at all. There was not a soul in the building, not even security as the system was off; she was able to walk right in with no problems. The coffin she was looking for was the only thing in the apartment where she found it, save some tools that appeared to have been used in an attempt to open it.
"Whoever brought the coffin there, is obviously planning on returning." She observed. "I should return tonight and see if they come back."
Making a lifting motion with her hand, the coffin lifted of the floor and disappeared with a small 'pop' with a flick of her wrist. Frankenstein had a special room set up to store his master's shrine, so she knew exactly where to send it. Then, after a last look throughout the apartment, she turned on the spot and Disapparated back to the school. She walked into her husband's office with a tray of fresh tea, and his favorite biscuits.
"Ah, there you are, Lilith." Frankenstein said. "Would you be so kind as to escort Master to Mr. Park's classroom to introduce him? I want Mr. Park to be prepared. You may take Master home afterwards."
"Sure." Lilith said as she out down the tray and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I'll finish the preparations at home then."
Frankenstein's master followed her silently through the halls, though she could see him glancing at her curiously. She gave him a sideways smile. "Curious about me?" She asked. "There will be more than enough time to talk when we get home."
He nodded, and they soon reached the classroom. Lilith knocked and waited for permission to enter before opening the door.
"Excuse my interruption Mr. Park, but I would like to speak with you and your class for a minute." She said leading Raizel into the classroom.
Once the awe had settled, Lilith introduced him. "Everyone, this is Cadis Etrama di Raizel." She began. "He is of a race called Nobles, and comes to us after a long dormancy. He will be tutored by myself until he meets Ye Ran standards, and will be joining this class once he does. I expect all of you to help him feel welcome."
"Yes, Ma'am." The class chorused.
There was quite a bit of excitement of having another inhuman join the class, but, since the class consisted of magic users and others of mixed blood, it soon died down. Raizel was given a chance to interact with the other students as Lilith spoke with the teacher, but wasn't mobbed or overwhelmed since the students understood that he might be feeling out of his element. Lilith's nephews, a tall redhead named Shinwoo, and a short brunette named Ikhan, had also introduced themselves and offered to show him around town and help with his studies. Then, it was time to leave and Lilith showed him the walk from the school to the house she shared with Frankenstein. The house was spotless, as expected, and he obediently put on the slippers that Lilith handed him. He followed her into the living room and watched as Lilith clapped her hands twice. Raizel couldn't help but stare at the two small, strange creatures that appeared in front of them.
"Dobby, Winky, this is Cadis Etrama di Raizel." Lilith introduced. "He's the Master that Frankenstein has been searching for; a member of the family. You are to treat him appropriately."
"Wes be happy to meet Master Frankie's Master!" The younger of the two elves tittered happily, ears wiggling in excitement.
"Winky too!" The older said, equally excited. "Winky will take good care of Master Frankie's Master!"
Lilith smiled at their excitement and turned to Raizel. "These are my bonded servants; Dobby and Winky." She said motioning to each as she said their names. "Though our bond is different from the one you share with my husband, they're members of the family. Please, treat them well."
Raizel nodded.
Lilith then turned back to the house-elves. "Winky, please prepare the rooms that Frankenstein and I picked out." She ordered. "Dobby, I have some things to prepare, so please tend to Sir Raizel's needs while I'm unavailable."
Lilith then turned back to Raizel. "I will need a few hours to prepare for your tutoring, but Dobby will be available for you during that time." She said. "If there is anything you want or need you only have to ask for it. If you feel silly just talking into thin air, you may call either them by name and they will appear. Dobby is also open to telepathy, so don't be surprised if he provides you with something without being asked. Would you like a tour of the house before I leave?"
o000o
About an hour later, Raizel found himself sitting on the couch in the living room with fresh tea and a small selection of snacks. Lilith had showed him how to work the TV, but he hadn't turned it on. Instead, he was admiring the beautiful Snow Owl that Lilith had introduced to him, stroking her feathers gently as she rested on his arm; Lilith had shown him the proper way to hold her. He had never held a bird before, though he had watched many grow up in nests built in the trees he could see from his window in the mansion he lived in back in Lukedonia. He had often wondered of their feathers were as soft as they looked, and he was happy to learn they were. Hedwig, as her name was, was remarkably intelligent, even for a familiar. When Lilith had first introduced them, the owl had seemed to recognize something in him, and, when he inquired, she told him the tale of her bonded. Lilith, then-Harry, had been such a lonely and hurt child, dumped head first into the deep end of a world they knew nothing about, and expected to swim and thrive with no help or experience. Raizel realized that the reason Lilith had offered to tutor him was because she had, correctly, suspected that he would be in a very similar situation, when he finally resurfaced from wherever he'd been for the last 800 years; and he felt a new sense of gratitude upon that realization, along with a bit of pride; Frankenstein had found himself a good wife.
"I see you two are getting along." Lilith said as she returned from the library. Though she frowned a bit seeing the table untouched. "You've not touched your tea, is it not to your liking?"
Raizel blinked and looked at the table; he had clearly forgotten, making Lilith giggle when she realized. "Hedwig does have that effect on people, don't you girl?" She teased her familiar, whom hooted affirmatively. "Well, my love, it's time for lunch. Would you like to go hunting or will you join us at the table?" She asked gently taking Hedwig from Raizel's hands.
Hedwig hooted, indication that she would like to go hunting. She had found a family of plump mice yesterday and was looking forward to it. Lilith smiled and walked over to the small sliding door leading to Hedwig's bird box. After letting her familiar out, she turned to Raizel and motioned him to follow her to the dining room, where the dining table was set for lunch.
"I know Frankenstein has always served you, but would you like to try picking for yourself?" Lilith asked gently.
She and Frankenstein had discussed little things like this in the past, in the event Raizel should return, and Lilith had argued that if Frankenstein truly wanted his master to be able to live a normal life, then Raizel would have to learn how to be more independent, and not catered to like a helpless baby. The fact that Frankenstein couldn't remember Raizel asking for anything, not even something as simple as a request for a preferred food item, was quite telling; and Lilith had made it a goal to make Raizel more vocal about his own desires. If nothing else, so he could voice his preferences in food and drink during meals.
With Raizel's lack of response, Lilith smiled reassuringly at him. "I'll prepare a plate for you then." She said. "Then, when you're ready, you can try for yourself?"
Raizel relaxed. No one had even asked him if he wanted to do something by himself, so it was an entirely new experience that was way out of his comfort zone. He was glad that she didn't push the issue, but also glad that she hadn't dismissed the opportunity after seeing his reluctance, and was willing to give him another chance in the future, when he had time to warm up to the idea.
o000o
"I put the shrine in the room you prepared." Lilith informed her husband after dinner, when the two of them were alone. Their two nephews had come over after school to study for a test the next day, but were currently trying to teach Raizel how to play a board game they loved.
"Thank you." Frankenstein said with a nod. "Where did you find it, out of curiosity?"
"Remember the new apartment complex that I've been keeping an eye on?" Lilith reminded him. "I found it in one of the apartments there."
"That's quite odd." Frankenstein remarked. "Did you find out anything about the owner?"
Lilith shook her head. "There are no records of them." She said. "Nor have any of the apartments been sold, despite being on the market for over a month. It is quite suspicious considering the amount of interest in the building, and the countless bids. I assume that the owner has deliberately concealed their identity, so the building may have been purchased with a specific purpose I mind."
Frankenstein appeared thoughtful. "Any indication that they knew what they had found?" He asked.
"I doubt they would've left it unattended, if they did." Lilith reasoned. "Also, it appears someone made a crude attempt to open it, which makes me believe that it was brought there by low-level thugs who had no idea what they had gotten their hands on. I'll do some research to find out how the shrine may have ended up there in the first place, and I plan to return to the apartment shortly to keep an eye on it."
Frankenstein nodded. "Please keep me informed." He said.
"Of course." Lilith said and gave her husband a peck on the cheek before leaving.
The moon was up before anything interesting happened. Lilith returned to the apartment in what she called her Primary Combat-form; where her hair was as long as it had been when she was first awakened, except it was silver instead of red. Her tiny braid was still the same, though, and her eyes were the same blood red as any other Noble. She wore a black halter-style tunic with armbands that matched her belt, and stockings with knee-length boots. In the event she got caught, she didn't want her appearance to give away her identity, and she was hidden under her Invisibility Cloak when a shady looking thug lead two others into the apartment. Lilith's eyes narrowed at the two; both clearly modified, but with a tainted, unstable, and sickly aura that was far from similar to Frankenstein's. What really irked Lilith was the fact that one of them was young, no older than 10, at least physically; and she could feel her maternal instincts boiling at the sight.
"WHAT?!" The thug explained, seeing the coffin was missing. "How… How can this be?" He asked in confusion. "I swear I left it right here! …It was right here just a few days ago… No one knows anything about this!" He insisted, looking at the other two in fear of what was going to happen to him. "Time…" He begs. "Give me time. I promise…"
He's interrupted when the larger figure spoke. "Should I eat him?" He asked his partner, making Lilith blink and tilt her head curiously.
The thug squealed in fear. "S…Spare me, please…" He begged, shaking violently. "Don't do this…"
"… Do as you please." The boy said almost indifferently, turning away from the that would follow. "He'll be of no use to us otherwise."
The thug screamed as he was grabbed by the larger man, his head completely covered by the man's hand as his neck was exposed and bitten into with long, dripping fangs. Blood dripped to the floor, and the thug stopped moving.
"We found the coffin without much difficulty, so I thought this was going to be an easy job. Looks like it's going to be a pain in the ass after all." The young one said, most likely to cover up the queasy look on his face as the thug's body was thrown aside like trash while the larger man wiped his mouth. "He said the coffin looked special. Let's stay behind and investigate it."
The larger man nodded, then turned to the body. "Should I get rid of this?" He asked.
"… Just leave it." His partner said. "No one's bound to find it here, and if he doesn't turn we won't have to worry about hiding the body."
As the two turned to leave, the larger man suddenly stopped and looked directly at Lilith, but only for a second, as his eyes looked around for something. Not finding anything, he followed his partner, and Lilith brought a knuckle to her bottom lip thoughtfully.
"I've suppressed my aura, and the cloak hides my scent, but I'm positive he noticed me." She thought. "I doubt he would've ignored me like that if he knew I was here, though. He must be inexperienced with his ability, or maybe even completely unaware of it. I'll have to keep an eye on those two."
She lifted a closed hand and opened it to conjure a small, black bat. It's wings fluttering a bit unsteadily before straightening out and flying after the two men. Lastly, she looked at the corpse on the floor. Her eyes narrowed; it's soul had still to leave.
"Could it be?" She thought, then grinned in intrigue. "How interesting. Those two."
The last 2 decades had been trying; despite how much she had hated it, she had missed the action she had literally grown up under. Living a normal life, no matter how much she had longed for it, and no matter how much she had enjoyed it, was boring; and she was constantly getting restless.
"Maybe I'll finally get to have some fun." Was her final thoughts before leaving the apartment.
