During a boring day at the FBI, Jane and Lisbon go to explore an abandoned house on the edge of town.

It was a slow day at the FBI. Actually, it has been a couple of slow days that week. No cases and if any, they were quickly solved.

The FBI bullpen was dead silent, no phone ringing, no printer sounds. The only sound was coming from Wiley's desk as he was playing one of his video games and the occasional scratch of pens on paper as Cho and Lisbon filled some paperwork.

Abbott was having lunch with his wife and Vega was on a sick leave. She didn't want to stay at home first, claiming that it was just a two-day cold but Wiley practically pushed her to the elevator while covering his mouth and nose. Poor guy was so pale, the only sun he got in a long time was probably when it shined through the FBI windows during the golden hour.

The bullpen was so quiet without the young and energetic agent that the other agents were surprised no one had fallen asleep yet. Even Jane was missing that day, he left almost immediately after returning from his lunch break with Lisbon, claiming that 'he had to run some errands'. That was almost an hour ago and still no news from him, but she hasn't received any calls from other police departments or any important people so she figured that he's not doing anything illegal, hopefully.

It had been another 30 minutes before he finally stepped out from the elevator, relaxed smile on his face, not his usual mischievous one, good.

Abbott came back maybe 10 minutes before him, also wearing a relaxed smile. So he also hasn't received any calls regarding the consultant. That was good but also strange at the same time. It wasn't like Jane to disappear for a while and not upset at least one person.

"Good afternoon," he said casually.

"Hey," Wiley was the first to reply but he was distracted, still looking at his computer.

"Mhhm," was Cho's way of greeting. He didn't even raise his eyes from the paperwork but lifted his head when a cup of coffee was placed on his desk.

"Hey," he said quietly when he approached Lisbon and gave her a soft kiss on her cheek and a similar cup.

"Hi," she replied softly. She took a sip of the coffee and hummed a little. Yum.

The quiet moment was broken by Cho's voice. "How come she gets the biggest cup and I get only a medium one?"

"Because you're not my girlfriend and I don't love you as much as her," Jane teased. "Hm, that's fair," Cho replied and also took a sip.

"I also got coffee for Wiley and bear claws for everyone!" Jane announced and gave each agent the goodies. Lisbon received her claw as the last one and this time, she was the one to give him a kiss on the cheek with a soft 'thank you'.

"I thought you agreed for no PDA during work," Cho grumbled at the pair.

"That's true, but it's a quiet day, so I figured why not?"

"Because I spent a lot of time watching Rigsby and Van Pelt making eyes at each other every day and I don't want to go through the trauma again," Cho quite the dramatic, said and the pair chuckled.

"Well Cho, you don't have to worry about it anymore today, because Lisbon and I are leaving."

"We are?"

"We are."

"Where?"

"Well, as I was running my errands…"

"You mean when you got bored and decided to wander around the city and then bring us food as an excuse?" Lisbon teased and lifted her eyebrows.

"...okay you're partly right. I really was bored and decided to take a walk and I somehow managed to wander around some unfamiliar streets and I found this old mysterious house, so I went to this little antique shop that was next to it and asked about the house. And the owner said that the house has been for sale for almost 10 years and no-one wanted to even look inside and they can't destroy it because of some agreement with the owner or something. So I was thinking that we could check it out?"

"You want us to check out some old haunted house that no one wants to buy. Why?"

"First of all, I didn't say it was haunted, I said it was mysterious. Second of all, why not? The city has been calm for almost a week now. There won't be a case today for sure. Come on, we haven't done anything spontaneous in a long time. Besides, I already talked to Abbott and he agreed."

"What? You told Abbott that you want to leave work early because you want to visit a haunted house?!"

"Mysterious house, and no I didn't, I just asked him if we could leave a little early today because I had some plans for us and he said it's okay."

"He really said that?"

"'Course he did, he was rooting for us the moment I came back from the island."

"That's true," Cho mumbled from his desk, still filling out the paperwork.

She looked at him and sighed after a moment. "Okay, let's go," she said and packed her bag. The wide smile she received from Jane was enough to make happy she agreed to go.

"Okay guys, goodnight!"

They received their goodbyes from their colleagues and made their way to the elevator, holding hands.

They arrived at the mysterious house, it surprisingly wasn't that far away from the office or her house, but it was an unfamiliar street.

"Are you sure it's legal to enter?"

"Come on, really? Of course it is. I asked the guy in the shop and he assured me that it's completely legal, promise."

"Ugh, okay. Let's go then."

They opened the door and the first thing they noticed is that there was no light in the whole house, great. The second thing was that the house was completely destroyed on the inside, the stairs had holes in them, there was a door that was broken in two…

"So...still think it's not a haunted house?"

"Oh come on, it's just an old house, it doesn't automatically mean that it's haunted. What's with you and haunted houses anyway? I thought you don't believe in this stuff?"

"It's nothing, just a stupid childhood memory," she grumbled.

"Ah, your childhood crush wanted to explore the old house in your neighborhood and you wanted to impress him so you went together and it didn't go well, right?"

"The old, creepy lady that was living there scared the crap out of us, hit us with her broom and then called the cops."

"How did it end with the guy?"

"I lost him while we were running away. He told me in school the next day that he doesn't want to hang out with someone that screams like a little girl while running away from the cops," she mumbled and looked down in embarrassment.

"Ah, what an asshole."

"Yeah, he really was."

"But come on, it's gonna be fine. Besides, I promise that I'll still want to hang out with you, even if you'll scream while running away from the cops."

Lisbon snorted. "Idiot," she said and hit on the shoulder.

Jane chuckled too, took her hand and they finally entered the house.

Lisbon, always the cop, had a flashlight with her. Jane, the one whose plan was all of this, was stuck with the flashlight on his phone.

They looked around the ground floor first, there wasn't anything strange just a few old and squeaky parquets and broken kitchen chairs.

The upstairs area was a little more creepy, broken windows, broken mirror, a few broken glasses laying on the floor. But other than that, it was a normal old and abandoned house, nothing too exciting.

"Well, I must say that I'm surprised and quite disappointed actually. Not that I wanted it to be haunted or anything, I just thought that at least something is gonna happen you know?" Lisbon said as they made their way downstairs, but as she finished and received no reply, she turned around to look at Jane but he wasn't there.

"Jane? Jane!"

"Come on Jane, this isn't funny!" But when she still hasn't received a reply, she began to freak out.

She went downstairs and pulled out her phone to call Jane when suddenly there was a loud noise in the dark kitchen followed by a loud "BOO"

"AHHH" she screamed out and jumped backwards, almost hitting the wall.

Two hands emerged from the darkness and pulled her away before she could hit her head. A body and a familiar face followed said hands and the cheeky smile of her stupid boyfriend appeared in front of her.

"You idiot! What were you thinking? Do you want me to have a heart attack?!"

"Oh come on, don't be dramatic. I think it was funny."

"Pff of course you did!" She said and hit his shoulder a couple of times, playfully of course. But he still winced.

"Oh come on! I didn't even hit you that hard."

"Mhhm"

"Okay, I think I've had enough of this house. I'm going home."

She took a few steps towards the door when he suddenly touched her shoulder and made her stop.

"Did you hear it?"

"Come on Jane! It's not funny anymore. I'm not in a mood for this now, I'm leaving."

"No, no, I'm serious," he whispered and looked around.

"Jane, seriously it's…" she got cut off by a sudden noise from upstairs.

"Was it you?" She asked Jane as she looked at him.

"Of course not, I'm standing right next to you, how could I do that!"

"Jane this is not funny anymore I swear-" there was another noise from upstairs, it sounded like window breaking and there was another noise coming from the kitchen. Both noises were getting louder and closer.

The pair looked at each other in horror and rushed to the door, with a slight scream they opened the door and quickly ran to the street and around the corner where Lisbon parked the car. They quickly got inside and left the street as quickly as possible.

Inside of the house, Abbott and Cho met downstairs and shared a laugh.

"I hope that after this, there won't be any walks out of boredom during working hours anymore."

"I hope there won't be any more PDA in front of me," Cho added and they chuckled again as they left the mysteriously haunted old house

"Oh my, that was intense," Lisbon said as they finally entered the safety of her house and sat on the couch.

"Tell me about it," Jane replied, he too was surprisingly shaken up by the things that happened at the house.

"Let's never do that again?"

"I agree."

"Great."

"But hey, I was right earlier."

"About what?"

"About me wanting to hang out with you even if you scream while running away," Jane teased and winked at her.

"Oh you're right. But I think my opinion on that is a little different."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I don't think I want to hang out with a man that gets scared and screams while running away…" she teased back.

"Oh you little…" he growled as he pushed her under him and kissed her. Her giggles were replaced by moans as he slowly bit her bottom lip and their tongues met. Haunted houses and childhood traumas were long forgotten and they only focused on making each other moan as loud as possible.
