Behold the first crossover of Hilda and Minecraft.
Not far from the city of Trolberg in the forest biome there was a girl with blue hair wandering around with her pet wolf. The girls name was Hilda, and her companion was named Twig. Currently, Hilda was searching for some specific items for her friend and promised not to come back until she has procured them, or it gets dark, and the mobs start coming out whichever came first. The friend she was doing this for was named Frida, who was trying her best to perfect Enchanting and Potion Brewing.
Frida would have gone along with Hilda but she had been working hard saving up Emeralds in the local Trolberg mine so she can buy herself some Blaze Rods since she, Hilda, and their other friend David, were forbidden from entering the one place they can get them from. The Nether. Although it was understandable, only the most fearless of adventurers would dare enter the Nether and grab any loot from within. Sadly, that even though Hilda is fearless she was forbidden by her mother, Johanna, from entering the place.
It is a good thing that Johanna does let Hilda travel outside the city, if she has someone with her, which was a good thing Hilda had her best friend Twig to whom she had befriended a long time ago. Now Hilda and Twig were searching for items to help Frida with her Enchantments and/or Potions. One item they were looking for was something that belongs to a relatively easy monster to deal with, they were looking for a Spider Eye.
Hilda figured they would have more luck in the closest cave where she sometimes goes to for more Cobblestone and, if she were lucky enough, Iron. But right now, was not the time for either of those, right now they needed to find a spider and slay it for its eye.
Hilda and Twig kept their ears open, hoping to hear a spider any around the cave. Hilda wanted to get more Cobblestone but decided against she had a lot already and this was more important. Just as Hilda was about ready to leave and try another cave, they hear a small hissing noise. Twig began searching the perimeter for any sign of spiders, just as it got quiet, they found a couple red glowing eyes approaching them. Twig jumped at the spider, grabbing onto it and hurting it in the process, allowing Hilda to pull out her Cobblestone Sword and strike at the spider making it disappear.
Hilda searched through what was dropped hoping to find a Spider Eye but did not have such luck. "More string." Hilda said picking up the string and putting it in her inventory. "Guess we better try somewhere else. I was sure there would be more here." Just then they heard another hissing noise. "Ah, that's more like it." Hilda said as she moved toward the noise, Twig following right behind her.
Hilda did not have to move so far since the noise was getting closer, but as they got closer the noise sounded less like hissing and more like something else, making Twig cautious. It was getting much darker in the cave but luckily Hilda remembered to bring some torches with her. Placing one on the wall near hear she looked for the source of the noise hoping that it would be another spider. However, as she looked up from where she put the torch, she caught sight of something that made her pause with fear. The hissing noise did not come for a Spider, but from a Creeper.
It was thanks to Twig tugging onto her that made her move finally and along with Twig, Hilda ran out of the cave as fast as she could. Outside the cave Hilda and Twig hid behind a tree and hoped that if the Creeper did get outside then the daylight would burn it, sadly though the sun was already setting. "The sun's already going down, how long were we down there?" Hilda asked making Twig shrug. Checking the cave to see if the Creeper were following them Hilda did not see anything, but she could still hear it. "I hope I remembered to bring arrows with me." Hilda said looking through her inventory again. Thankfully, she did have arrows, though she only had three. "Yes! This should be enough."
Hilda pulled out a bow, readied an arrow, and pointed it at the cave. She could still hear the Creeper following them, but as she kept her bow pointed at the cave, she thought she could it much closer to them they she thought. Realizing that the noise she was hearing was behind she looked slowly to see a second Creeper right next to her. Screaming, both Hilda and Twig ran away from the second Creeper just as it was glowing and then blew itself up.
Hilda and Twig were slightly thrown back at the force of the explosion, thankfully there was not any real damage. Looking back to see the crater that was left when the Creeper exploded Hilda sighed in relief. "That was a close one, are you alright buddy?" Hilda asked Twig making Twig bark happily and start licking her face making her giggle. Just then Twig stopped licking Hilda's face and started growling. Looking in the direction where Twig was growling Hilda finally saw the Creeper that was following them. "Not this time." Hilda said as she readied her bow and arrow.
Firing one shot, she hit the Creeper in the center, it kept moving toward them allowing Hilda to fire a second shot. The second shot did hit it, but it was close to missing, noticing that Hilda looked to see that she was shaking, possibly from the fear of it blowing up and hurting them, or from the first Creeper that got them by surprise. Seeing this, Twig decided to act and ran toward the Creeper, grabbing onto him.
"TWIG NO!" Hilda shouted. The Creeper was glowing, it was now, or she will regret it. Aiming her third arrow Hilda fired and hit her mark, making the Creeper fall to the ground and disappear. "Twig!" Hilda ran to Twig and hugged him worrying that if she let go than he would be gone as well. "That was very dangerous Twig, you could've been hurt, or worse." Hilda started feeling tears fall, the thought of losing Twig is too much for her to bear. Seeing how sad his friend was Twig started licking her face again. "Don't ever do something like that again, please."
Hilda got back up and looked where the Creeper disappeared. What was left of the Creeper was some Gun Powder. Walking toward it, Hilda picked it up. "It's not a Spider Eye, but hopefully we can get something out of this." Hilda said as she placed the Gun Powder in her inventory. "Alright let's head back home." Twig agreed and both he and Hilda went into the direction of Trolberg, the place where they live.
It was a long walk that went into a run when Hilda was sure that she heard some Zombies moving toward them, but Hilda and Twig finally made it back home. Looking at the giant wall keeping any of the mobs from getting in she was thankful that she started living in a place like this. Though the forest biome was great, and she will always thing of it as home, but the one thing she is thankful the most about Trolberg that she will not miss about her old home is all the mobs she and her mother had to face all the time.
Noticing a small button on the wall Hilda pushed it to activate a couple of Sticky Pistons that pulled back some of the wall to reveal a hidden door. Hilda knew that mobs could not open doors so there was no need for it to be like this but the one that made it like that thought that you could never be too careful, the people that put it up being the Trolberg Safety Patrol lead by their chief who Hilda thinks is a total nut job, Erik Ahlberg. She could not say anything about the rest of the Patrol, they were just following orders, but Erik, she can conclude that he is crazy, the thought permanently in her mind as she opened the door to the city.
Making her way back to her house she opened the door to her home and greeted her mother. "Mum, Twig and I are home." Hilda walked to the nearest chest to place all the items she collected inside.
Johanna, Hilda's mother, looked to see her daughter removing her inventory. "You two have been gone for a while. Is everything alright?" Johanna asked hoping nothing was wrong.
"It was nothing we couldn't handle." Hilda said not revealing the parts about the Creepers.
"Well, it's time for dinner." Johanna walked to her furnace and placed two potatoes in along with some wood. She could have used coal, but she was out and did not make to the mine today. "What do you feel like having?"
Hilda thought for a moment and said, "Pumpkin Pie please."
"Very well, and don't worry Twig I didn't forget you." Johanna said pulling out a Cooked Chicken for him. Twig happily accepted it and Johanna moved to her crafting table for the pie. Placing Sugar in the center, an Egg underneath the Sugar, and a Pumpkin on the Sugar's left side, she created a Pumpkin Pie. Doing the same thing again she made a second pie so Hilda and her both hade some and grabbing the Baked Potatoes out of the furnace, dinner was served.
Both Johanna and Hilda sat down at the table and began eating. Though Johanna was still thinking about what Hilda was doing all day and she had to ask about it. "So, Hilda, what exactly did you do today?"
Taking a moment to stop eating Hilda responded. "I was looking for some supplies for Frida. Outside the city."
"Outside the city?" Johanna asked wondering if she heard that right. Hilda nodded and Johanna asked, "Couldn't you have gone down the mine?"
"You said that if I brought someone with me then I could go outside. Plus, I really did not want to deal with Erik and his safety concerns."
Johanna wanted to tell Hilda that, that was not the point, but decided against that she technically Hilda did follow the rules and if nothing seriously bad happened to her than all is well that ends well. "I know I asked this already but are you sure that everything was fine?"
"Yes, I'm sure, it was nothing that we couldn't handle." Johanna was not comfortable with that answer. "Such as the life of an adventurer." Hilda said going back to eating and leaving Johanna to having doubts about what she said.
