Notice! This story was an actual dream, so some things may seem out of context at first

SETTING: I'm in the world of Pokémon, Vermilion City I think.

CONTEXT: I'm a eevee, and owned by a elderly woman.

My owner is waking me up. She has a bright smile on her face; I know that smile well, There's a tournament today. I won't be competing; For some reason I've never been able to pull of a single Pokémon move, but I love watching the matches! I go to the living room, the TV is already on and tuned to the match. I see my two favorite fighters (who just so happen to be a few years older than me) greet each other as the match is about to begin, who have a long friendly competition between each other. The first, is Bolt. She is a Jolteon who always knows how to put on a good show for the audience, and she's my model. The second is Sol, a Flareon, my superstar crush. She knows how to entice the crowd, she only makes her moves when they'd be most effective and most dramatic. Separate, they're both amazing fighters with their own strengths; together, they're the most exciting match-up you could ever dream up. I cuddle up with my owner and get ready for the match, and loose myself for a moment as I look into their necklaces; they're reminiscent of mega-evolution stones, but they're just decorative. They're still beautiful though, Each of their necklaces is in the shape of their type, Bolt's a lightning bolt and Sol's a flame. They're wonderfully crafted too, if you look closely it's almost like they're alive, teeming with their elemental power.

an hour later

They've been fighting for this long and they're both still standing?! There's a reason they're as famous as they are... but time ran out and it was declared a draw since neither fell. A somewhat disappointing end, but it was a great match! My owner gets up, and grabs her purse and wallet. Grocery store time.

We've gotten most of our things that we needed, and I guess she decided I deserved a treat, because we were headed to my favorite desert shop! As we're about to walk in someone bumps into my owner. She doesn't see it immediately but it was a pickpocket, they took her purse! In a split-second decision I chase after them, my owner only realizing why after she sees her purse missing. She lets me chase after him, while she goes to get help, presumably the police. After only a few minutes I'm exhausted, but I keep going to try to catch the thief. I watch them round a corner, and I'm only a few seconds behind them. I get to where I last saw them and... it's a dead end?! Where the hell did he go?! I hear the snap of a twig behind me, and as I look around I see two men, who are dressed as what appears to be scientists. They have an evil grin on their face, and also are holding snares... was this a trap? I instinctively know that if I have any chance of getting out of this alive and free, I'm going to have to either fight or run... I won't run. Bolt never would. I may not be able to defeat them myself, but I'll stand my ground until the police catch up to us. They see the fire in my eyes, and they loose the grins... they know I'm going to fight. Have they done this before? My exhaustion is leaving me at a disadvantage, but I can still fight, even if I don't know any moves. After all, I have teeth and claws don't I? I do my best to try to incapacitate at least one of them, but to no avail. They must be wearing a thick leather underneath the lab coats. Despite me doing my best, they capture me. I realize now that it's be futile to resist... for now. I'll wait and make my move until the time is right... just like Sol. I feel myself on the verge of blacking out, but I try to stay awake so I can back-track and find my owner once I escape... too late, I pass out.

A loud bang of machinery, and I'm awake. Hmmph, an elevator. Not very useful for figuring out where I went. The doors part and I see a room full of machines that I've never seen anything like before, filled with more scientists in the same garb as the ones that caught me. An organization? It can't be team rocket, they have big R's on all of their uniforms. These are unbranded... they jolt my cage to gloat, knocking me out of my trance of the room, and off my balance. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a doorway, either one of two things, another room or a way out. From the nature of the room I'm guessing the former. They're taking me through the door? Guess I'll find out. I prepare myself to make a break for it, in case they try to get me into a different cage that's more suited for whatever their purposes are... I focus on their faces, focusing my anger and rage to energize myself for the mad sprint that will ensue. My guess was right, another cage. I keep my focus on them. They open the cage I'm in to force me into the second. This is my chance! I fight them and try to break free of their grasp... damn, I'm in the second cage! They still haven't closed it, there's still a chance... despite my best efforts I loose, and I'm locked in the new cage. The most anger I've ever felt rises, and I feel a surge of power. In my fit of rage I start beating away at the cage. It's a clear plastic, and plastic isn't invincible. A scratch! The surge of power increases, and I'm then blinded by my rage... is that fire??? Am I using flame punch??? They just stand there... mocking me... I feel this new power leaving me... not now... please not now... in a final burst of energy I slam my fist into the plastic wall... and all it does is a small dent. Damn. At least I put on a good fight. I feel like I'm about to pass out again, but I try and hold on once more. I have just enough time to notice three figures huddled in the corner, and say "hi, didn't see you there" before I pass out and face-plant into the floor... what a way to introduce myself.

ten minutes earlier

"Bolt! How could we get ourselves into this mess?! The last thing I remember is us leaving the stadium with our trainers... then this. Please tell me you can remember more than that?!" "I'm sorry Sol, no. It happened too fast for even me to react... the only thing I remember is the grin of those bastards when they grabbed us."

Sol grabs a piece of trash lying on the ground, and throws it at Bolt. Just about as it's about to hit her, someone grabs it mid air.

"That's enough you two! It was because of me you became friends and I'll be damned if you become enemies while I'm standing RIGHT HERE, or else my name isn't Hella!"

Sol and Bolt share a look for a second, and have an unstated understanding... Hella was right. Hella was the head assistant nurse at the biggest Pokémon center in the entire city, and was always the one to heal them after their battles. She worked hard to break the tradition of a Chancey being the holder of her job... she was the first Sylveon to gain that title, and she was proud of it. They sit in silence for a while. Suddenly they hear the rattle of the elevator. Not a uncommon sound for the short while they've been there, but it's enough to startle everyone. Footsteps coming this way, and this is new. No one else came in and out of that room other than the ones at the assorted terminals nearby, but there was something different about these... the people who's making the steps rounds the doorway, and they're carrying... an Eevee? They all approach the walls to get a closer look.

"Heh. He's got that same stare you get during our matches Sol... looks like he's about to do something either really stupid or really brave." "Shut up Bolt... do I really give that stare? He looks like he's about to crap himself but is holding it in..."

They approach the cage, no surprise there. Sol, Bolt, and Hellen back up so he can be let in. The moment the mobile cage opens the Eevee is fighting like its his last fight, but they watch as slowly but surely he's put into the cage.

"I'll kill you bastards! LET ME OUT!"

"Haha, he's got your temper too it looks like Sol."

Sol ignores Bolt's snide comment, and is more focused on the new arrival. If that was true... Sol sees a cinder. She knows what's about to happen.

"GET IN THE CORNER NOW! He's about to use a flame punch, in this small of an area you two will be seriously hurt! I'll cover you!"

Bolt and Hellen don't even argue. She's a fire type, she'll be better suited to the inferno. Just like Sol predicted, a flame punch ensues... and not just one, but a whole barrage.

"Eughhh, this is getting a bit hot even for me... I'm impressed."

Sol can feel the blasts becoming weaker and weaker, but just as she thinks it's safe and lets her guard down, the newcomer lets one final blast go. It's hotter than she's ever felt, and gives her a first degree burn... Hella instinctively kneels down to asses the damage, not severe, but it'll sting for a while. She looks over at the newcomer to scold him for hurting Sol, but immediately sees he's in just as bad of shape, if not worse.

"Hi..." he says weakly, "didn't see you there." Hella let's out a gaps of fear as he collapses from exhaustion.

Over the next three days, Hella takes care of the two, with the help of Bolt. Sol is the first to be able to walk again, but the newcomer has been unconscious the entire time, so there's not much comparison.

"Ughhhh... what happened? Last I remember that new guy let out a big blast of fire."

Bolt was the first to respond. She's always been faster. "Well theres not much else to tell you, other than he's still asleep."

"Well I have a few words for him when he does... and no I'm not going to yell at him Hellen."

"Right. And this is me believing you."

A few minutes pass by, and I start to wake up, still in a daze.

"Wha??? What happened???" I see a Sylveon rush over to me.

"Shhhhh, it's okay, you'll be just fine."

Her words are soothing, and I ask "Did I stop that thief? Where's my owner?" She gives me a confused look.

"Honey, I'm afraid that if you're thinking you're in the Pokémon center, you're far from where you think you are."

My vision still blurry, I say "what? Then where the hell am I? Who are you?"

She gives a deep sigh. "While you may not be WHERE you thought you were, I am someone you thought I was. I'm Hella, the head nurse at the largest Pokémon center in the city."

"but if we're not in a Pokémon center, and you're here, does that mean we've been kidnapped?"

A familiar voice nearby responds to me. "Well, looks like you're finally starting to get a grasp on things. Me and Hella have been taking care of you while you were asleep. It's been three days, and you put up quite the fight in your way in."

"Thanks, I guess. What does it matter though since I obviously lost?" Another voice, coming from beside me this time.

"Because it showed you won't give up. Even if you lost this time you'll be ready for a comeback."

"Wait, I can't quite see right now but I know your voices... I know YOU... Bolt? Sol?" Bolt responds to me again, with a sarcastic tone to her voice

"ding! Another one right, he's on a roll!" Hella interjects.

"Leave him be! He put up a better fight than you did!" Bolt has no response, so I say something to fill the silence.

"I... put up a better fight than Bolt? But how? I've never been in a single Pokémon fight, heck, that was my first time using a move!" Silence. My vision returns to normal during this, and I see they're all staring at me with a mixture of shock, disbelief, and stifled laughter. Most of those coming from Hella, Sol, and Bolt respectively. "What?"

Bolt bursts in the anticipated laughter I saw. "So you're telling me, you're, what? 18? And you've never used a move before?! THAT is funny!" I feel a mixture of embarrassment and hurt, she was my model and she's laughing at me? Hella sees my emotions before I say a word, and snaps at Bolt, saying what I was thinking. I guess she was trained for that kind of thing. Next is Sol to say something.

"Your first move ever huh? Pretty impressive, considering you gave me a first degree burn on my arm here."

I immediately feel a big sense of regret and an even deeper embarrassment. "I did?! I'm so sorry! I was in such a blind rage I didn't even see you when I first got here!"

She calms me back down, saying "don't worry kid, if anything you earned my respect. You gave ME, a FIRE type, a first degree BURN! Now that's talent! You should participate in some tournaments when we get out of here."

I'm not sure how to respond, so I just say what comes to mind. "Thanks, I guess. But it won't be likely, I don't have a trainer, just an owner. An elderly woman. She couldn't take the excitement of being in a big-time tournament like you guys... I've always looked up to you two... Bolt, you were always my model, I wanted to be just like you." I can see her blush, even through all the fur. I stutter out my next few words, as I'm now talking to Sol. "Sol... I'm not sure if it's a good place to say this, but I've always had a crush on you. I just never thought I'd meet you in person, what with the state of my owner." Sol looks at me surprised, not sure how to respond to my statement. Hella fills in the awkward silence between us.

"Well, either way you two need to focus on healing up. Sol, while your burn is mostly healed, it could still flare up and hurt you if you agitate it." She nods, clearly she knows Hella and trusts her deeply. Hella then turns to me. I freeze up, scared she might scold me or something similar, for hurting Sol. Instead she says "and you honey, you exerted way too much energy, I'm surprised you even had enough energy to confess your feelings just now, much less talk at all. Don't worry, I'm not mad at you for giving Sol her burn, Bolt over there has done much worse than that over the years they've been competing against each other." "It's true" Sol says. "Bolt once paralyzed me for two weeks, she admitted later that she put a bit to much into the attack." Bolt says nothing, only gives a cheeky grin. If they can move past that, I guess it wouldn't be too hard for Sol to move past the burn.

Several days pass by. Sol is practically back to peak condition, and I'm back to walking around. Still a bit wobbly though. Everyone helps me now and then when they see me needing help or about to fall, and I'm eternally grateful. Suddenly someone bursts into the room where we're kept. They're holding a portable TV. They're careful to put it where everyone can see, even us. They crank the volume up as loud as it will go.

breaking news. After several days of Sol and Bolt missing, police are convinced it was a kidnapping. There was also two other Pokémon to go missing on the same day. With such a close timeframe as the four going missing, police are treating this as a mass kidnaping. Sol's and Bolt's trainers have both already given their statements to the police and news, so let's go to the other two. The first, the head doctor at our biggest Pokémon center. "I just hope they're all ok! I'm sure that if they're all together, Hella is keeping them perfectly healthy. She was trained to help hurt and sick people and Pokémon alike!"

We all give Hella a nudge, as we all know that's exactly what's happening. She gives a sheepish smile.

Next, a elderly woman who lived alone with her Eevee. "Please! Whoever you are, let my Will go! He's never been in a Pokémon fight, he doesn't know how to defend himself! He was all I had..."

I feel my heart break. She's desperate. I want to come back to her, but I'm trapped. I look at Sol and Bolt. We give each other a look of resolve and determination. They'll train me. We're fighting our way out of here when the time is right. The scientists look at us. They laugh. They won't be laughing for much longer if I have any say in it.

five days later

I've been hard at work with this training, and me and Sol are doing a practice fight. I've gained lots of muscle tone, and everyone can see it. Sol even occasionally makes a comment on me, eying me at the same time. It never fails that it makes me blush and loose my concentration on training, making me loose the mock fight. Bolt laughs every time this happens, she knows exactly what I'm thinking, and it ain't exactly appropriate. Luckily for my own self respect, she only laughs. Despite how much she hates seeing people hurt, Hella encourages the training. How else are we going to escape? Bolt gives the signal for the fight to begin, and my mind snaps back to the present. We start of with basic counter-moves, then move on to offensive. It wasn't to hard to pull off the moves, but we keep at it for several hours, making both of us sweaty, exhausted, and physically drained. Because we're imprisoned at the moment, we have to be really careful not to over-do it.

"You're getting pretty good Will. I imagine you could actually win a real fight."

"Thanks. I would give you a positive compliment too but you were fighting Bolt in a city-wise broadcasted tournament before you guys were taken."

"Heh. Always with the realistic and literal views huh? It's cute." Sol quickly gives me a kiss, leaving me shocked. Both Bolt and Hella saw it, and they're both just as surprised as me.

"Are you serious Sol? We've been stuck here plotting an escape and you just kissed him?! You didn't even knew he existed two weeks ago!" My feelings were hurt, and Sol gives Bolt a sour look.

"So? I was willing to call you friend within an hour of meeting you. Is this that different?" Bolt didn't honor that with a response, she was right.

Hella interjected before the conversation turned into an argument. "Well, while it was certainly surprising, I think you two would make an excellent couple! Will could show you what it's like living a calm life, and Sol could teach you some of the going ons with celebrity life!"

There was some truth to what she was saying. From what I knew Sol was always a celebrity, and I wouldn't mind going to one of those parties she's famous for holding, they're supposedly the best times you could ever wish for. Me and Sol exchange a glance, her smiling at me in a way I've never seen her do before, I blush and avert her eyes. A few hours pass by, ad I feel like I constantly am aware of where Sol is. Am I becoming obsessed? The voice of one of the scientists breaks my train of thought. The others don't seem to notice him.

"We need to accelerate our plan, the cops are narrowing down our location. We NEED to either complete our goals now or relocate everything! And with this amount of gear, we won't be able to do that without drawing attention. I'm going to test him NOW!"

Test? I'm the only "he" in the group, so it has to be me they're talking about. I hurry to tell the others what I just overheard. They seem just as confused as me as to what tests they could be referring to. I look back. He's heading this way! Fear grips me, and I look to everyone as to what I need to do. They seem to have spotted the scientist heading out way just as I did. The same fear on their faces. Guess whatever tests I'll be undergoing I'll have to learn as I go. He opens a hatch, too small for us to crawl though, and sprays a gas into our chamber. Was it a paralyzing powder like the bug type move? It certainly seemed it, as we all become unable to stand. He opens the main door and grabs me. The others can do nothing but look on in horror. I'm shoved into a tube, and a cold blast of water hits me. The powder gone, I can now move around again, but just barely. Apparently the function of the tube was two-fold, as a light goes down around me. Reminiscent of a scanner at a Pokémon center, but there's something different. With the scan complete, they pull up a data chart on a connected terminal. He's muttering to himself, but I can hear him. The others can't. I'll have to tell them what he's saying when it's all over.

"Let's see here... weight, gender, height, we knew this already and not important for the scan... aha, here we go! Special abilities... "life"? What kind of ability is that? No data found? Interesting... not much we can do with this information as is, but let me test something really quick."

I'm blasted with another liquid, definitely not a liquid I was already aware of... it feels like I'm covered in jello, but it was just as smooth-running as the water I was hit with. I open my eyes, scared if something bad happened. Something definitely happened alright, it's like I have x-ray vision! I can see the scientists bones! I rub my eyes thinking it's a hallucination, and it's gone. Did I really see that? Everything is normal again. He's talking again. "Hmm, no outward visible effects, best put him back with the others for now." This time there's no powder. I let him grab me, as I know his intentions this time. Once I'm back in, I tell the others my experience.

Bolt is the first to say something, she always is. "I'm sorry, you saw what now? You had to have been hallucinating. And this life thing? Surely you heard wrong and where does you glowing come in?"

I hadn't noticed before, but she was right. I was glowing. "Look, whatever this means I say we break out tonight." He said they had plans for us, and I don't want to find out what those plans are. Are you guys with me?"

They look to each other, Sol is the first to agree. "I'm with you!"

Hella chimes in. "Me too!"

Bolt is hesitant. "Fine, but only because I'm the only one against this plan."

Later that night, we prepare ourselves. It was my idea, so I take lead. "Alright, me, Bolt, and Sol will focus attacks to break the cage. Hella, I know fighting is against your nature as a nurse, so use supportive moves to reinforce us, ok?"

"Will do."

"Great. Now, they likely have alarms set up, so once we're through we make a mad dash for the exit. Let's stick together, don't want to go through all this effort to leave someone behind." Everyone nods in agreement. "Other than that, let's be sure to cover each other. If one of us sees one of those bastards coming up on one of our blind spots, call it out. Alright, let's do this!"

We follow the plan, and just as I predicted alarms go off. We start our dash to freedom. I jump up and hit the elevator button, as it's the only way in or out. "Alright, sound off." We each call ourselves out, but Bolt is missing.

"What the hell? She was right behind me!" I can hear the distress in Hella's voice. She was last in line. We search nearby, but in the end Bolt found us.

"Oh thank God Above! You're okay!" Sol goes in to give her a hug, but Bolt pushes her away. There's something off. I look around. I can see scientist starting to surround us, and I realize something.

"Wait a minute... are you betraying us Bolt?"

"You're not betraying if you were never on their side." Her body language is ice cold. Even a Glacion would ask for a jacket.

Sol looks horrified. "Bolt, I thought we were friends!"

"It was all a ruse I'm afraid. My trainer only thinks we have a bond. I've been working for the scientists around us since I could remember. They saw your enormous potential for power, and wanted it for themselves. Initially we planned for you to fall for someone, then kill them to augment your powers. Did you never notice you were more powerful the angrier you became?"

I'm hit with a sense of deep rage. Was our friendships all a lie? I look at Sol. She remains stoic, I understand her. Even if we were manipulated, our feelings were real. But now this ends. The power I felt when I first got here returns, stronger than ever before. Something changes about me, and I continue to grab Sol and Hella. I loose conscience, and the next thing I know we're outside. Sol and Hella look at me dumbfounded, without a scratch on them. "What happened?"

Sol speaks to me. "Will, it was like you evolved, but now you're back to an Eevee!"

"What? How is that possible?"

Hella speaks this time. " I don't know, but when you changed, you started using moves only dragon-types can use. You destroyed everything."

I look to where we just came out of according to Sol and Hella. All I see is... rubble? Did I destroy an entire building, and everyone in it? "But dragon-type? There's no such thing as a dragon-type evolution of Eevee's!"

Hella again. "I know what we saw, and those were dragon moves. Is it really so hard to believe? A few years ago there was no such thing as a fairy type evolution of Eevee, yet here I am!"

We discuss what happened some more, and Sol and Hella say they didn't see Bolt leave.

Sol makes a spiteful comment. "Good riddance, that lying deceiving bitch." She's hurt. She trusted Bolt with her life, and she was just manipulating her.

We agree to go straight to the nearest police station, and tell them everything we can about the people that kidnapped us. But we leave out the dragon-type stuff. We'll figure that part out ourselves.
