Eddie walked into the kitchen and slid her phone onto the counter.
"I'm glad that's over with," she said, coming up to stand beside Jamie as he cooked their dinner.
"Did you lie your way through that referral for Voorhees?" he joked.
"Partially," she chuckled. "He's still a sleeze but he's changed... some. I think he's just looking for a fresh start. Hopefully that's the last I see of him, if not, lets hope that you're dealing with him next time."
Jamie chuckled, "Okay."
"Need help with anything?" she asked.
He shook his head, "I'm about to put this on plates. If you could grab us some silverware and drinks, that would be great. Let's just eat in the living room, yeah? I think we need to relax on the couch after the week we've had."
"Sounds good," she responded.
They met each other in the living room, getting comfortable on the couch and arranging the coffee table as their makeshift dining room table.
"I'm really glad Jill agreed to rehab," Eddie commented to her husband as he handed her a plate of food. "I think she's finally ready for it."
"She's definitely seems more confident about it," Jamie said, putting a hand on her leg and pulling her closer. "I just hope she sticks to it this time."
"I think she will," Eddie reassured. "I got to talk with her while we were at the community center and she's ready to do this. Especially now that Danny is involved. I think him talking to her was really what did it."
"I think so too," Jamie agreed.
"I also gave her my number," Eddie added. "I told her that our door is open to her just in case she needs anything. I really want to see her do well."
He gave her a small smile, "You're a good one, Janko. I'm sure Danny appreciates you doing that."
"You're pretty great yourself," she said back. "I'm sure Danny appreciates you watching out for her for the past few years, even when you didn't have to."
"In a way, I felt like I owed her," he said. "If she hadn't watched his back out there in Fallujah, then my dad would've buried two sons. Erin and I would've buried two brothers. I needed to try and help her, it was the least I could do for what she did for me."
Eddie nodded and put an arm around him, rubbing his shoulder.
"You really are one of the good ones, Jameson Reagan," she said softly. "If it was anyone else, they would've thrown her in jail and never even given it a second thought. But you gave her a chance. It took her a minute to get there but she's going to do great things because of you and now that Danny's around too."
"I didn't do much," he trailed off.
"You make a bigger impact on people than you realize," she countered. "That's one of the reasons I fell for you."
He turned to her, "Yeah?"
She laid her head down on his shoulder.
"Yep," she said softly.
"Thank you," he responded, kissing the side of her head. "I really appreciate that. And just so you know, that's one of the reasons I fell for you too."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close, kissing him deeply. They finally broke apart after a minute to take a breath.
"I love you," she whispered.
"I love you, too," he responded, leaning back in to kiss her again but was stopped by Eddie putting a hand over his mouth.
"As much as I would love to continue this, I'm hungry."
Jamie couldn't help but laugh while she grabbed her plate and fork to take a bite of her food.
"What a way to kill the mood, Ed," he joked.
"I said I love you didn't I? Sue me. I'm hungry!"
He just shook his head and joined her, turning on the T.V. for some background noise as they enjoyed their dinner.
