Chowder had to go out to get groceries in the rain and he was walking back home with the bags. Thankfully there was no forecast of thunder since the King of the Sky wasn't in a particularly bad mood that day. Chowder then thought he heard something. It sounded like whimpering. He listened again, it sounded like it was coming from the bushes.

"Hello?" Chowder saw a tiny flame, barely surviving the rain. "Gorgonzola?"

"What do you want? My day was already bad enough." Gorgonzola scowled.

"What are you doing out here?" Chowder asked.

"I'm… Just… None of your business!" Gorgonzola scoffed.

"Okay, but I think you need to protect that flame of yours." Chowder said, concerned.

"I lost my umbrella." Gorgonzola said. ""You will be fine just take an umbrella!" He says!"

A tiny droplet of rain landed on Gorgonzola's flame, dimming it a little more.

"Dear golly!" Chowder gasped. He took off his hat and hovered it over Gorgonzola's head.

"I… I don't need… Thanks…" Gorgonzola sighed.

"Want me to take you back home?" Chowder asked.

"I'll be fine." Gorgonzola said.

"Come on, you won't survive long out here." Chowder said.

"Stilton said I'm supposed to do my job out here." Gorgonzola said. "He doesn't like it when I leave work early."

"Hmm… You can stay with me if you want." Chowder suggested.

"No way!" Gorgonzola denied.

"Just until the rain clears up. It could be our secret." Chowder said. "Well, maybe along with Mung, Shnitzel and Truffles if it's okay with them."

"Fine… But after that we never speak of it again!" Gorgonzola demanded.

"Deal." Chowder replied.

When they came back to the Catering Company, Chowder put his hat back on and put a towel around Gorgonzola.

"Just for today…" Gorgonzola repeated. Chowder rolled his eyes at the reminder.

"Chowder, are you back?" Trufea asked, then she saw Gorgonzola sneezing into a tissue at the counter. "Is that the kid you fight with a lot?"

"Yeah, but he needs to stay here for a bit, his master left him out in the rain." Chowder explained.

"I'm fine!" Gorgonzola shouted.

"Alright, but don't make too much noise." Truffles warned aggressively. "I know you and your friends get kind of crazy."

Chowder put his arm around Gorgonzola as they walked to the kitchen.

"Chowder, don't touch me, I'm fine." Gorgonzola sighed.

"Sorry." Chowder said as he put his hand down. "I just feel worried about how Stilton is treating you. Even after the apprentice games, he left you out in the snow in the Knishmas episode."

"Chowder, I'm glad you're back." Mung said. "You got the groceries right?"

"Yeah, and I didn't eat it all this time." Chowder said, then he belched. "Since I got extra for myself…"

"Good boy, Chowder." Mung said as he patted his apprentice on the head. Gorgonzola frowned at the affection.

"Mung, Gorgonzola was left out in the rain, so could he stay here for a bit?" Chowder asked.

"Chowder, I'm glad you're making friends." Mung said.

"I'm not his friend!" Gorgonzola denied.

"But, remember when Gazpacho stayed here?" Mung asked.

"Gorgonzola may not be as close to me and he's a bit grumpy, but I know he won't go that far. Plus it's only until the rain clears up." Chowder said, then his eyes sparkled. "Please Mung, he won't survive out there, his flame will go out…"

"Alright." Mung sighed.

"Radda…" Shnitzel said from afar. He didn't really want another kid in the building.

Meanwhile at the dump Stilton called the "Candle Holders' Office", he was sitting on the couch watching TV and drinking soda. He looked at his watch. He didn't understand why he worried about his apprentice. He didn't bring him anywhere higher in life. He slouched back and tried not to think about it, but he couldn't help but feel a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach and it wasn't the soda he was drinking.
