A/N: If you mix zombies and fluff, you get this. It's revoltingly sweet, but you've still got the undead. Anyway, sorry this is so late, Elizabeth, hope you enjoy!

~ the rain'll come out, tomorrow ~

Teddy smiles the very moment he feels the first drop of head fall on his head, and slowly stops running. Finally, the rain! They have been watching the black clouds anxiously all, day praying for it to pour down, and finally here it is. He turns to look at Victoire by his side, who is also grinning.

"La pluie!" she exclaims, laughter in her voice. Whenever Victoire feels anything strongly, she'll switch to French. Teddy thinks it's endearing.

"I know." He grins too and turns his hair back to pink in celebration.

Now that the zombie isn't chasing them anymore, they can finally take their time to relax, just a bit.

It's funny to think about how, just two years ago, the rain would have meant a ruined event, a day spent inside doing nothing, and hoping for the sun to come back out. But things have changed since then, mainly: the zombie apocalypse. It was horrendous in the beginning, but they figured out that the rain harms the zombies—dissolves them—and they don't dare get out. Rainy days are now the best ones, spent scavenging whatever they could, harvesting fresh water, and enjoying some fresh air.

Victoire and Teddy are part of the scavengers, a perfect team, the two of them. They're the best at finding things, and at running away from zombies. Just like the one the was behind them but is now probably grey mush.

Now, with the water running down their faces, and into their eyes, dripping onto their eyelashes, they laugh at each other.

"So, where are we going next?" he asks her.

Victoire draws out the map, carefully wrapped in plastic. "The farm is about two kilometres away, to the west."

She's got a natural sense for direction, Victoire, which is why she handles all of the directions. Teddy, on the other hand, would probably get lost in an elevator. They located the farm a few days ago, one they hadn't noticed yet. It was a few days' run away from 'home', where the rest of their family stayed, and they spent all the time alone together in the nature.

"Great, let's go!"

They both started running again, but without the stress of the zombie behind them, their shoes squelching with the water. Teddy starts the conversation once again, "What are you hoping to find?"

On every scavenge they do, they always bring back one small item, just one thing, from the time before that they can use and treasure. Teddy's started a collection of toy soldiers, because they remind him of his childhood, but also because his cousin, James, is so young and barely has any toys to play with.

"A decent hairbrush, maybe," Victoire says, "Buckbeak got to mine two weeks ago."

Buckbeak is Uncle Harry's dog, named after his long lost pet. Zombies, as they have found, aren't very fond of dogs either, and the disease doesn't seem to affect the beloved pets. They've also been on the lookout for a female, so that they can have little pups to take on scavenge hunts.

Teddy snorts.

Don't laugh," Victoire grumbles, though she's not really angry. "My hair is a mess!"

Teddy shakes his head. "Don't be ridiculous. Your hair looks lovely. You always do."

She rolls her eyes. "Says the guy with the perfect hair, who can magically change it back."

The apocalypse also had a terrible effect on magic, and all their wands and powers suddenly stopped working. Teddy's metamorphmagus abilities have somehow managed to stay. He's also learned how to transform himself into a very zombie-ish state, which is very practical for their hunts.

"You jealous?" he teases.

"Of course not!" she exclaims.

Teddy chuckles. "You're cute when you're jealous."

Victoire smacks him him as they slow down, nearing the farm. But before they can head any further, Teddy reaches for her arm and stops her, bringing both of them to halt. They're just at the edge of the woods. In front of them, there's just sheets and sheets of rain before the blurry outline of a farm.

"Victoire," he tells her, "You know you're beautiful, right. No matter what you wear, or how you look."

She makes a noise—what he supposes is a sniffle, but he can't exactly tell, because it's raining, though not that strongly anymore—and then tells him, "You know that's a contradiction, right?"

"Victoire…" He rolls his eyes. Victoire used to be all about looks. She adored the way she looked, and dressing up nicely made her feel confident. The apocalypse has taken all that away from her, and they're almost always dirty, with unkempt hair.

She smiles weekly. "You're sweet, Teddy."

Teddy smiles, and pushes her wet hair back behind her ear. "No, you really are beautiful, Victoire."

She's got the most beautiful sapphire blue eyes. If he could, he'd spend the reminder of his days just getting lost of them. But he doesn't have that much time, so instead, he just leans in a kisses her softly. Just one little kiss under the rain.

Except it's not that little, and while he can feel Victoire start to smile, he also realises the warm feeling on his back isn't just her hands, but also the sun.

"Ah, shit," he murmurs. "It's sunny, again."

Victoire laughs. "The irony of pathetic fallacy."

"You can say that again," Teddy agrees, a huge smile on his face, to see that she's now better.

However, they're far from okay, as he can tell there are some nasty things coming out from the farm door and heading their way. They've still got some things to do before they can be the young adults they're supposed to be.

And while the sun is out, so is Victoire's smile, and that's enough for Teddy. Now, how does he kill those zombies?
