Fred's funeral:
George's POV:
I sit there in the front row, on the right of mum who's sobbing into my shoulder. I keep a comforting arm around her.
Two seats away from Ginny and Harry. The two of them ended up together. Fred called it. I was sure Ginny was over him but guess not.
In between me and my little sister, is an empty chair, left for Fred. If he could, I'm absolutely sure he would attend his own funeral. So I left the seat open out of respect for him. And so that he could look down at us and know.
I haven't shed a tear. I think everyone else thinks I'm numb but I'm not there yet. Inside, I want to burst into tears but I know Fred would want me to be strong for the family. He would want me to keep everyone positive and fill the family with laughter. It's hard though. I just want to give up sometimes but I know he wouldn't. It's just so unusual to do anything without him. Every single step I've taken has been with my twin brother and now he's gone. It's so hard not to cry, but for Fred, I'll do my best.
Harry has Ginny in his arms, tightly as if he's afraid to let go. There are a few tears running down his face but he keeps his focus on comforting my sister. Stroking her arm, whispering incoherent things in her ear, and letting her sob into his chest. He does this all despite the pain and guilt I know he feels. He tried apologizing to me and my family once, of course we forced him to shut up because nothing was his fault. I think he still doesn't believe it though.
I look away from the two and silently thank him for being there for my sister when I couldn't.
At the end, we all go one by one to talk to George who's been buried. I go first. I sit down and stare down at it. This is when I really try hard not to cry. I am thankful that everyone has given me as much time as I need and lots of space.
I sit there for what I think is fifteen minutes but may actually have been longer until someone finally approaches me.
I look up to see Ginny standing in front of me. She looks like she's collected herself and I don't know why but that makes me want to break down more.
"Georgie." She says, sitting down by me and leaning her head on my shoulder. "It's ok to cry you know." She whispers as she grabs my hand in hers comfortingly.
I'm really holding it back now.
"I can't." I whisper.
"George, let me be strong for the family. No one expects that of you. You need to let it out. It's all right. You know Fred would cry if he was in your position." Hearing his name makes the pain so much worse.
I take a huff of air, trying to fight my watering eyes. Ginny just sits there.
Finally, I can't take it anymore and tears start running down my face as I stare at his grave.
She hugs me so that my head is on her shoulder and soon, my tears turn to sobs and I feel like I can't stop.
But my baby sisters there. The one who started off as a naive little girl who was in love with a boy and has grown up to be perfect. Man, if Harry ever and I mean ever hurts her, I'll hurt him ten times worse.
Soon enough, I'm crying into mum's shoulder. I look up a little to realize that Harry is holding Ginny again as she tries not to cry with the rest of the family. He whispers things in her ear to comfort her and she eventually lets herself cry.
At the burrow:
"Harry, are you ready to leave?" Everyone's head snaps to Bill.
"Er-yeah. Thanks for the food mrs. Weasley, it was-" Ginny cuts him off.
"Ready for what?" She furrows her eyebrows at him.
"Nothing, Gin, it's just-" Ron cuts him off. "We're going death eater hunting. Harry, you didn't tell her?" He says, smirking at Ginny and then turning to Harry with a confused face.
A worried expression appears on Harry's face as he watches Ginny.
"What!? Why didn't anyone tell me? Harry!" She jumps out of her seat.
"I'm sorry Ginny, it's just-" she cuts him off.
"I thought this stuff was over, or at least for him!" She's now looking in between Bill and her dad. "Hasn't he has enough!?"
"That is exactly what I said!" Molly says from the kitchen where she's preparing a small dessert. She's done her arguing but unfortunately has no control over it, especially now that he's of age.
"No, Ginny, I wanted to do it-" She whips her head to him.
"We're gonna talk!" She says through gritted teeth as she grabs his sleeve and pulls him into the living room.
As they make their way in there, all the Weasley's quiet down so and watch from the kitchen. "Guys, we really shouldn't eavesdrop-" Hermione starts. "shhh" They all hiss at her. She sighs and sits in her seat.
Ginny looks at him with a slightly sad expression.
"I thought this was it. I thought it was just us now." She says.
"Ginny, you couldn't have possibly not had realized that death eaters were still out there." He says.
"Of course I knew Harry! But why the hell are you going to fight them off. Isn't that the auror's jobs!? Or the order? Why are you going?" She demands.
"Ginny, Ron and 'Mione are going. Plus, this is good auror training now that you mention that. And, we need all the people we can get." He explains.
Ginny looks away from him for a few seconds with her arms across her chest. She knew all along that this was something he was gonna do. She wasn't surprised. Harry wasn't happy unless he was fighting off the evil. She might as well accept it instead of staying mad at him.
A sigh escapes her lips. "Ok." She nods.
Harry looks shocked. "Ok? Really?" She nods with a small smile.
"Thank you!" He pulls her into his chest before pecking her lips.
The Weasleys boys scrunch their nose's up at that.
"Ok, let me get my wand then we'll leave." Ginny suddenly says, getting out of his arms.
"What!? What do you mean 'we'll'? No, Gin, you can't go." He says, making her anger return as if it never left.
"And why's that! You said that you needed all the people you could get!"
"Because-I-you-you're not of age yet. You still have the trace on you!"
"Oh, Harry, you know that the ministry won't mind me hunting down death eaters at trial." She says, rolling her eyes.
"Ginny, you can't go. I don't want you there." He says.
Her head snaps to him. "Why?" She glares at him. Harry speaks, ignoring his fear.
"Because it's-it's not safe and I don't want you there." He states, fighting the urge to shrink back.
"That's not your choice!" She yells.
"Ginny, I'm sorry, you know your parents wouldn't let you go either way and even if the trace isn't on you, you still aren't of age-" She cuts him off from there, knowing she's not gonna win this.
"Fine! Fine, go ahead." She huffs.
He starts to feel guilty. He couldn't let her go though. He just couldn't.
"Ginny, look, I'm sorry, it's just-" she cuts him off again.
"Don't waste your time, I don't care." She plops down on the couch behind her, her arms across her chest and not letting her eyes meet his.
He sighs sadly in defeat and walks out of the room.
He looks around at all the faces turned to the living room, making them quickly snap back to their food. He rolls his eyes at how obvious everyone is.
"Ready then?" He says quietly.

"What if he's dead right now and the last time I saw him, I wouldn't even look him in the eye!?" Ginny says loudly to her mum. She's currently panicking and ranting to her mother about her worries.
"Ginny, dear, I'm sure he's fine-"
"But what if he's not! I can't believe I was so angry!" A pregnant Fleur looks at Ginny. "Gin, I'm sure 'e is doing jus fine!" She assures her.
"But what if he isn't!?" She says. She hasn't cried or anything about it but she's gotten more and more paranoid by the hour.
Finally, there is a loud click outside, making all the women's faces snap to the door. Ginny sprints out there. There Harry is. Perfectly ok. Relief fills her face at the sight of him.
She quickly throws her arms around him. He confusedly hugs her back.
"You arsehole! I was just sitting here worried-" she's about to yell at him but then decides against it. "Thank Merlin you're alright." She sighs, squeezing him tightly. He doesn't say anything.
"Ok, well, I'm still mad at you." She states, pulling away from him and moving to hug her brothers.
Harry' heart sinks at her words. Of course she's still angry. He deserved it.
Later that night, as the Weasley's, Harry and Hermione hung out, Ginny ended up sitting next to Harry and eventually fell asleep on his shoulder.
Maybe she was showing him that she wasn't mad at him but he know that was unlikely and she probably was still mad.
"Uhh, I'm gonna go get Ginny to bed. I'll be back." Harry says, his face heating up as they smirk at him.
He then ignores them and tries to shake Ginny awake. This results in her digging her head further into Harry's shoulder.
He sighs and blushed even more as he lifts her up bridal style, carefully and makes his way up the stairs.
Once she's tucked into bed, he kisses her forehead before turning back to the door and heading out.
At the burrow:
Today Harry is meeting little Teddy. Andromeda's bringing him by soon and he can't help but be worried.
What if he doesn't like me? He kept asking himself. He went out and bought a few small toys. But not too small, what if he chokes on on them?
Ginny has been at Hermione's place so she wasn't even there to help calm him down. She should be back any moment now.
It isn't until there are knocks on the door, when the fireplace flairs and the young red headed witch steps out. Harry looks at her with worry in his eyes while mrs. Weasley goes to answer it.
"What's wrong?" She asks him as she brushes herself off.
Her question answers itself as Andromeda walks in with Teddy's stuff in her arms and Molly holds Teddy with a big smile on her face.
"Awe, look at you!" Ginny squeals, rushing to him.
Molly hands Ginny the baby and she hugs him close.
He giggles in her arms before changing his hair color to the fiery red of the young female Weasley.
"Look Harry! We're matching!" Ginny giggles as she turns to him.
Harry's worry washes away as he looks at his girlfriend and godson smiling brightly in each other's arms. That was a sight to see.
He feels a big smile approach his face as he looks at them adoringly.
"You wanna hold him?" She asks, walking over to him. He feels his worry splash back into his face.
"What if I drop him!" He quickly says, backing up.
"Harry, you won't drop him, c'mon." Ginny rolls her eyes.
"Ok, but-" she cut him off though.
"Stop. You'll do fine, just hold the boy." She says, giving him to her boyfriend.
Harry holds Teddy securely but not tightly, scared he will hurt him.
Teddy looks at him curiously. He isn't putting in the same energy everyone else is while holding him.
"Hey, Teddy." A weak smile shows up on his face as he looks into the baby's eyes.
This pathetic attempt seems to be enough for the young child as he smiles brightly and tugs on Harry's glasses, making Harry laugh and feel some weight lift off of his shoulders.
"See? Told you." Ginny smiles brightly.
Teddy giggles again and changes the color of his hair to Harry's jet black hair while his eyes stay the beautiful brown of Ginny's, making it look as if this were their child.
The young couple meet each other's gaze and smile, having the same thought go through their head.
"Oh, Merlin." Charlie mutters, making Harry blush furiously and turn his attention back to this child.
