Undertale: Fates Intertwined

Summary: Chara and Frisk, The First Fallen Child, and the eighth, have gone through terrible things, both have strong distaste for humanity. Chara Dreemurr, for her deep red, almost demonic eyes, and Frisk for her deep fascination for the history of Monsters, both heard of the Legends of Mount Ebott, about how humans tend to disappear. Chara, the adopted daughter of the King and Queen of monsters, died hundreds of years before Frisk, a young girl with a dream of a new beginning, their destinies now intertwined, their SOULs bound to each other, they have to work together to free monsters from their Underground prison, and also, free themselves from their chains that humanity has trapped them to. Through thick and thin, and whatever dangerous trial that awaits them, as long as they work together, nothing can stop them, just as long as they, stay DETERMINED. Fem! Frisk x Fem! Chara. Good! Chara. Warning This story is on the SS Charisk ship, if that is not your cup of tea, don't read and abandon ship now before we depart.

Thechaosmaster: Okay, let's get the biggest question off the table right now.

Blossom: Yeah, like, why are you starting yet another new story without even being close to finishing any of the other stories you said you were going to "Finish"?

Chaos: Yes, THAT question, well, as many of you can tell, I recently gotten into Undertale, ended up doing complete pacifist route, and then doing Genocide run before being killed repeatedly by Sans. And I had spent that last few days reading Undertale Fanfics, so, I decided to write my own. First thing many will note is that this is my first gay paring, why? Well, I like it. Now, this may be a short chapter, but it is the prologue, after all.

Also, please, be gentle in your criticisms, I recently gotten into this series and I don't want to be sing reviews that say something like "Oh! Chara is supposed to be this evil psycho bi*ch! Or, Frisk is supposed to be a mute! Yada yada yada. Ehem, I know how toxic this series fanbase is, and it's also a fanfiction, I will write it how I feel comfortable, and note that I will not dis gay coupling. I have been on this website since I was seventeen, I have read gay couple stories, straight stories, harems, everything. And I just wanted to try something new. And, who knows, this might just be what I needed, a new story from a new series to clear my head.

Blossom: I'll admit, this does seem, interesting. By the way, have you decided on adding Gaster into the story, by any chance?

Chaos: He is undecided. Anyways, let's get this show on the road. I do not own Undertale, or it's characters, they are all owned by Toby Fox. Please read and enjoy, Undertale Fates Intertwined!

Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS.
One day, war broke out between the two races.

After a long battle, the humans were victorious.

They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.

Many years later…
Mt. Ebott

201X

Prologue: Name The Fallen Human

The rain poured heavily as I ran, 'I can't go back! I have to keep running!' I thought to myself as I continued running, away from the village known only as Ebott, it was a small village, but it has deep roots that date back to the days of the war, back when humans and monsters lived together in harmony. Why the war happened is a question that I had asked myself for as long as I could remember, and many times people had responded the same way, "It was because of the monsters terrifying ability to absorb the SOULs of humans." That was what everyone has said whenever they talk about the war. The history books said that even with one SOUL, or as some stupid scientist who loves their anagrams, would call, the Source Of Unknown Luck, which is by far the stupidest thing I have ever heard of, monsters could have the power that could never be matched, and if they were to absorb six human SOULs, they could become gods.

That was what led to the war, a single, stupid, FUCKING fear that led to a war. Even though, monsters were GREATLY outmatched by the shear strength of a human SOUL, I knew all of this, because I had read the old, worn out, dusty tomes that shouldn't even be classified as history books.

But, no matter what book I had read, it always depicted the monsters as these heartless creatures who had a thirst for blood and destroy everything in their wake. And it was this fear that led to seven of the most powerful magic users to banish all monsters beneath Mt. Ebott and sealed them away by a powerful barrier. Never to see the light of day ever again.

But, for some reason, every time I either heard someone say this, or read about it in a "History Book" I get this feeling that maybe, just maybe, all was not as it appeared. And I was very, vocal, about my ideas, and I wanted to believe that the monsters weren't what the history books portrayed them to be. And that maybe, just maybe, they were actually very different than what we were told about them. And it caused me to sympathize with the monsters.

But, this caused me a lot of trouble in my village, in fact, it was why I was running now, on this stormy night. I was raised in the orphanage, my parents died the night I was born, my mother died in childbirth, and my father died in a car crash on his way to the hospital to witness my birth. After that, I was raised by the orphanage, even when I was younger I knew I was different. If my bright red eyes and interest in the history of monsters, and me being a monster sympathizer, and, one other thing, is anything to go by.

I was an outsider to my very own species, and it didn't help when I started talking about wanting to understand the monsters beyond what we were told, it was then that the head of the orphanage told me about the legend of Mt. Ebott; that those who travel up to that mountain, never return. There was even an old legend, about "The Demon that comes when people call it's name." Many feared that I was said demon because of my red eyes, but, something deep inside me tells me that that is not the case.

While the orphanage told me of the demon, they also spoke of the other six kids that went missing years ago. Nathen, Triston, Tiana, Amanda, Mike, and Justin. Each kid went missing years apart, so there was no way of telling if they were connected in any way, shape or form. There has also been that rumor that a hundred years ago, a young girl named "Chara" was killed by a goat monster and took her soul, it was said that the villager saw the strange goat monster holding young Chara's lifeless body in his arms, before the villagers attacked him. Every time I hear that story, I get the strange feeling that something was missing, but I couldn't find out what.

But, that was how things went for me. Ever since I was born, I was intrigued by the mystery that was the monsters. I have been living in this village for almost twelve years now, and I have finally had enough of it. Just kinda sucks that the night I decide to run away it rains, but I knew that is was my only chance. That with the rain would erase any and all evidence of where I disappeared to.

I packed whatever small things that I might need, and ran for the mountain, wanting to know, just how true the legends were. At this point, I didn't care whether or not I lived or died, because, right now, anything would be better than being treated like I was some kind of demon.

But, then, as I was running towards the base of the mountain, something caught my foot and I tripped, one minute, I was running away from the ignorance of humanity, and the next, I was falling, falling, and still falling. And then, I stopped when I suddenly hit the ground, and everything went black.

As I was returning back to the land of hopefully the living, I heard someone calling out to me, a girl, by the tone of her voice, "Hey! Hey, kid! Are you dead? Wake up!" When I didn't respond, I heard her sigh as she said, "Maybe it's just that you can't hear me."

It was a girl's voice, I could tell, but, something about it seemed, off. I groaned in pain as I felt like I just got hit by a wrecking ball covered in spikes. As I sat up and rubbed my eyes, I asked, "Ugh, what happened?" As I opened my, I found myself resting on a bed of golden flowers. I sighed as I realized that fall didn't kill me. "But, seeing how I landed on these flowers, I shouldn't be too surprised, I guess."

As I was looking at the flowerbed, that was when the voice from before said, "Beautiful golden flowers, they must have broken your fall. Feeling relieved in surviving such a great fall fills you with Determination."

I suddenly went ramrod straight as I felt a chill run down my spine, I turned towards the source of the voice and I saw a young girl, probably no older than I was, who looked almost like a mirror image of me, she had peach colored skin, brown hair, rosy colored cheeks, almost like she was permanently blushing, she was wearing a lime and creme colored striped shirt, reddish brown pants and shoes. Quite similar to my blue shirt, with two purple stripes, blue pants, and brown shoes.

Why, even our hair style was scarily similar. Brown hair that stopped just at the base of our shoulders, but the most shocking thing that caught my eyes, were her crimson eyes. Eyes so red that they could cut through the darkness. While my red eyes could be mistaken for rubies, hers could be mistaken as crimson blood red. I rubbed my eyes several times, until I asked, "Uh, who are you?"

The girl blinked owlishly three times before asking, "Wait, you can actually see me?" Confusion clear on the girls face, almost as if she had doubted that I had even spoke to her at all.

I awkwardly pulled at my shirt collar and slowly said, "Uh, yeaaahh. Am I not supposed to?" I asked her, completely confused as to this girls question.

Then the girl brushed her hair out of her face as if to say that she was annoyed, then she sarcastically said, "Oh, I don't know, maybe because I'm supposed to be DEAD!"

I could feel the color drain from my face, as this revelation was brought to light, and I frightenedly asked, "DEAD!? Does this mean I'm dead too!?" I mean, I was expecting to die coming here, but, I didn't think that I would become a ghost.

But, all my fears were laid to rest, no pun intended, when the ghost girl said, "Chill out, brat, you're not dead. Well, not yet, at least."

I put my hand over my heart as I took several deep breaths as I felt my heart return to a healthy rhythm. I wasn't even going to argue over the fact that she had just called me a brat, that could be saved for another time, then I looked up to the young girl and said, "That's a relief. By the way, what's your name, miss?"

I watched as the ghost girl twiddled her fingers nervously, then she said, "Uh, my names Chara."

My eyes almost popped out of my skull as this girl called herself Chara, and I asked, "Chara, as in the very same Chara who disappeared into Mt. Ebott over a hundred years ago who was killed by that goat monster?"

"HE DIDN'T KILL ME!" The ghost girl screamed at me, and I could have sworn that her eyes turned pitch black, and her black sludge started oozing out of her mouth.

I almost jumped out of my skin and I ran to the other side of the room, as far away from her as possible, and in a very soft voice, I squeaked out, "Sorry. That's just how the story has always been told above ground."

Hearing that, Chara took a few deep breaths, returning back to her normal appearance, and she said, "No, I should be sorry. I forgot how stupid humans were." Then it was Chara's turn to blink a few times before she asked, "Wait, did you say, 'a hundred years?'"

I slowly nodded, still fearful of that melting face that she had made just moments before, as I said, "Yes, it's now the year 304X."

I could hear Chara take a deep inhale through her teeth, almost as if she herself, was shocked at what she had just learned, which, to be honest, learning that you had been dead for over a century, would do that to you.

It was then that Chara looked to me and asked, "Well, now that you know my name, what is yours, brat?"

I had to hold back the remark I wanted to say, and instead I said, "Franse…" I stopped in the middle of introducing myself as Francesca, knowing that that name was tied to my old life, and all the pain that it came with, so, I looked up towards Chara, who looked at me with a raised eyebrow, and I swore that I saw a black text box filled with twitchy letters appeared in front of me, and then, as if I was typing my new name, five letters appeared in front of me. 'A new name, for a new life.' I thought to myself.

F. R. I. S. K. Warning: It will make your life hell. Proceed anyway? I wasn't certain if this were accurate or not, but, with a soft gulp, I decided that this name would be correct.

"My name is Frisk, just Frisk." I said my new name to the ghostly girl.

Chara looked as if she wanted to say something, but instead, she extended her hand out to me in a friendly manner, and smiled at me, and I smiled back, and went to shake her hand, but, to my shock, my hand went right through hers. Then Chara laughed lightly and said, "I shouldn't be surprised at this. I AM a ghost after all."

I couldn't help the light giggle that came out of my lips, but, before we could have our own little girl moment, I realized that we had yet to leave the cave and said, "Hey, how about we start moving on from here? We have been here for a while, haven't we?"

Chara seemed to nod at this and said, "Yeah, that seems about right."

Then I turned to her and said, "I would ask if you have anywhere you need to be, but I feel like that would be a bad question to ask."

I could tell that Chara wanted to be insulted, but for some reason, they shook their head and said, "Nah, don't mention it, Frisky. Anyways, let me give you a little tip. Monsters down here in the Underground are very weak."

I looked up to my new ghost friend and asked, "What do you mean, 'weak'?"

Chara led me to the end of the hall where we saw what looked to be an ancient entrance and she said, "What I mean is that monsters, unlike humans, are made up entirely of magic, they don't have much physical mass. Meaning, that a single hit from something as pathetic as a tree branch could kill a monster in a single strike. And that means, someone as young as yourself, could kill any monster in the Underground."

I gasped in shock as I put my hands over my mouth. I was terrified at that thought, "I don't want to kill anyone!"

Chara gave me a small smile as she said, "Well, Frisk, just as long as you remember to SPARE every monster in the Underground, I believe you will be just fine."

It was then that we entered into the next room, and we saw another one of those golden flowers, but this one seemed to have been slightly larger than the rest, and… Does that flower have a face?

Before I could ask Chara about it, the flower SPOKE, it freaking SPOKE! "Howdy! I'm Flowey. Flowey the Flower!" His voice, at least, I believe that the flower was a boy, his voice was high pitched, so it was hard to different it from being either a boy or a girl, but I believed that it was a boy. Me and Chara blinked rapidly at this flower, and for some strange reason, I felt as if this guy was up to something.

And my suspicion of this guy grew even further as he said, "Hmm… You're new to the Underground, aren't cha? Golly, you must be so confused. Someone ought to teach you how things work around here! I guess little old me will have to do."

That was when I heard Chara's voice whisper to me, "Frisk, don't react to me. There is something off about this flower, and I don't mean the fact that he's friendly. I have lived here long enough to know every monster down here, and unless something BIG has changed in the last hundred years, I don't think talking flowers have ever been part of the monster community."

I silently nodded, and, unfortunately, Flowey mistaken that as me accepting his help, as he asked, "Ready? Here we go!" The thing that we instantly took note of, was the fact that Flowey never acknowledged Chara's existence.

"I guess you're the only one who can see me, Frisk." Chara said to me, and I didn't react, worried that it might give her away.

Just then, the world around me flashed rapidly until it became monochromatic and a red mist flew out of my chest and took the form of a heart. Kinda designed like those old 90's video games.

Flowey smiled brightly at me as he asked, "See that heart? That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!"

I took a glance at Chara, who seemed to have been nodding Flowey has been saying, at least he was being truthful about this, but it still didn't settle the feeling of uneasiness that was dwelling in my gut. That was when Flowey said, "Your SOUL starts off weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV." Hearing that caused Chara to quickly glare angrily at the Flower, and I knew that something was wrong. "What's LV stand for? Why, LOVE, of course! You want some LOVE, don't you?"

At first I was going to say yes, but then Chara said, "Frisk, don't!" I looked at her in confusion, until she said, "While it is true that LV does stand for LOVE, LOVE is an acronym. It stands for Levels Of ViolencE. A way to measure your willingness to hurt. You gain LOVE by killing monsters. And you DON'T want to do that, do you?"

Before I could answer, Flowey happily said, "Don't worry. I'll share some with you!" Flowey then winked at me as he stuck his tongue out and small white pellets appeared from around Flowey as he said, "Down here, LOVE is shared through… Little white… 'friendliness pellets.' Are you ready?" The Flower asked me, then as the pellets got closer to me, Flowey said, "Move around! Get as many as you can!"

Deciding to trust Chara more than Flowey, I avoided the pellets, but this seemed to make Flowey agitated, and he had this deadpan expression on his face, and I knew that something was wrong. And Flowey then said, "Hey buddy, you missed them. Let's try again, okay?"

Flowey then sent more of those pellets at me, and knowing that he was now up to something, I avoided them like the plague. But this only seemed to make the deranged flower even angrier as he asked, "Is this a joke? Are you braindead? RUN. INTO. THE. BULLETS!" And there it was, the truth was finally out, but Flowey quickly covered his mistake as he said, "friendliness pellets." And more of the BULLETS came rushing at me, and I once again dodged them, knowing that this was the time to try to keep myself alive.

That was when Flowey finally dropped the façade, and revealed the demonic grin, revealing his TRUE personality as he asked, "You know what's going on here, don't you? You just wanted to see me suffer."

It was then that Flowey made his intention unavoidable as he surrounded me with his 'Friendliness Pellets" making it impossible to avoid this attack as he said one single word, "DIE!" And he began laughing maniacally as the bullets started closing in, and his face twisted into a nightmarish, demonic face, ripped right out of one of my nightmares.

But, then, just as sudden as they appeared, they vanished, and Flowey was struck by a ball of fire, and soon, a new presence mand themselves known. Wait…was that an anamorphic goat lady? Okay, first I fall down an impossibly long drop and survive by landing on a patch of flowers, then the ghost of a girl whose died over a hundred years ago starts talking to me, and then I almost get killed by a FUCKING FLOWER! And end up getting saved by a goat lady. And all this happened in the span of half an hour, what's next?

That was when the goat lady said, "What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth…"

That was when I heard Chara gasp in shock and tearfully asked, "M-mom!?" My eyes widened at this revelation, this must be the lady who looked after Chara after she ended up down here in the underground.

"Ah, do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the RUINS. I pass through here everyday to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs. This way." And with that, she went up ahead of us.

Before she left I said, "Give me a minute, just need to catch my breath after all this."

Toriel simply nodded with a patient smile as she said, "Very well, I know that something like this will be hard to come to terms with. I shall be waiting for you in the room up ahead." And with that, I was left alone with Chara.

I turned towards Chara and simply said, "I think I need to have a few things explained to me before we proceed any further."

Chara floated down to me and nodded as she said, "I agree."

Thechaosmaster: Well, how was this chapter? A little on the short side, I know, but, I wanted to make it short for prologues sake. But, what do you guys think? Will you lot stay and read, or just abandon it? And to answer a quick argument, yes, I know that Frisk and Chara are both gender neutral characters, but after reading several stories where they're both girls, I grew to love the idea. And as for W.D. Gaster I may make a reference to him via the grey door in Waterfall, but I don't know how to work him into the story just yet. Well, good night everyone, see you all in the morning, hope you all enjoyed this new story of mine, and hope you don't get to angry at my distractions, for I feel that this is one I must take. PEACE! -_-

CHAOS CONTROL!

Thechaosmaster: Well, good morning, everyone!

Blossom: Keep it down, you idiot, it's TOO early for you.

CHaos: Bah! Anyways, I know that this wasn't something that many were expecting, but, ever since I started watching AMV videos of Undertale, and listening to the different "Stronger Than You" Variants, which, Frisk's Remix version is my personal favorite, followed by Sans.

Blossom: Is there anything you wanted to do, or do you just like to talk?

Chaos: Right. Anyways, this chapter was just meant to 'set the stage' as it were, for the new story. So, I'll just keep it short and say that the SOUL or Source Of Unknown Luck, was my idea, and the kids names, well, I think you all know why they're there. Believe it or not, I created the names of the SOULs and their backstories before even writing the first word of this story. I have their personalities, at least, the bare bones of their personalities down, just need to work on their appearances, but that's for later. Please note that before this story takes place, a grand total of ZERO Resets have been done by Frisk. Speaking of her, what is everyone's opinion on her? Well, time to write the next chapter, enjoy everyone, and don't forget, Follow, Favorite, and leave a Review about this story, I'll see you all next time.
