Chapter One: Quiet

Nights were long and hard, Shinso tried to tread through his days with his head down. It has been a very long time since he graduated from UA high school and climbed his way through the ranks of Pro Heroes. In his prime he wanted to prove himself to the world and how his quirk could be used for the good of the people. It still ended up being divided in the long run. There were those who praised him for his success and those who looked down at him in disgust. After a while Shinso ended up becoming numb to the side glares and comments. What was there to prove when he already got what he wanted? He managed to land himself a spot in the top 10 and he knew he would never surpass the top 3. Deku was so far from his reach so he tried to settle for the 2nd or 3rd.

When he was in his 20s, he would train harder to try to get past Bakugo or even Todoroki in the polls. Nothing ever seemed to work because his popularity with the media was low. No one cared about him per say and he knew that.

As the time continued the resentment inside him grew as he sat in the 4th place for years. He never fell from his 4th place but he never moved forward either. He watched his former friends excel in front of him while he stayed where he was. Not by their fault but because of his overwhelming resentment. When Shinso hit his 30s, that's when he fully accepted where he was in the top 10 and didn't try to surpass anyone anymore. He even fell in the polls but his cold heart he didn't give a shit anymore. The more he didn't care, the more it affected his hero work. Eventually he had a talk with Deku who paid him a visit. He was worried about Shinso's performance, knowing he could do so much better. Trying to give him that fire back but Shinso didn't know how to get his fight back.

A lot of his time was spent on expensive luxuries and women. Sex and money was all he consumed himself with in his early 40s. Women were only attracted to him for his money or his quirk. All they wanted was to be dominated by it as well as in the bedroom. He tried to fill that void in his heart with more but he still felt empty. Eventually he got bored of it and just stopped bringing random women into his home. The more he took the less it made him feel good. He needed something that gave him a thrill and he searched for a long time.

Now at the solid age of 45, Shinso was content with what he had and what he didn't. He didn't speak to the top 3 heroes anymore or anyone in the circle unless he had to. He had moved on from simple relationships. He just didn't want it anymore until he looked into being a Sugar Daddy. It was a way to have the company of a woman, give her a little showering of gifts or money and they went their separate ways at the end of the day. Sometimes sex was involved but sometimes it wasn't. At the end of the day, Shinso didn't give a fuck. He just wasted his life away trying to chase something that wasn't in his reach and all this money to spend. Every now and then he would use an app to get in contact with a Sugar Baby to have a day or night alone with them. It was a small gesture of a woman's presence that he appreciated.

He wasn't a young man that would get overly excited over a woman's touch anymore Sure, the sex was alright when he'd get it from a happy Sugar Baby but he didn't feel anything romantically. It was like a thank you for buying them something expensive. It was whatever at this point of his life.

Shinso walked over to the mirror in the bathroom and brushed back his wild purple hair. He slipped some hair product into his hands and smoothed back his hair out of his face. It was in a slicked back undercut, his hair in the past was wild and unkempt; now he tries to make sure he looks presentable for his age. He trimmed his Balbo cut of his facial hair; a mustache combined with a soul patch on his chin. It was a style that made him female more masculine and handsome if he could even say that. Once he was done he cleaned himself off and walked over to the bedroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His body was far from small, now with age he worked up his body to a built muscular form. Almost twice the muscle mass he was as a teenager in UA. His arms were big and his hands were large, women fawned over that,

He walked into his closet to pull out a nice dress shirt and vest. It was a grey shirt paired with a black vest with a pair of black pants. He looked through the closet for a pairing suit jacket before setting everything down on the bed. For a moment he stood there with his thumb rubbing against his bottom lip thinking. It had been a while since he set up a night with a Sugar Baby. The girl seemed good enough for a night of company although she seems bratty. It wasn't his type but might as well go with it for the night. He slipped into his outfit before spraying himself in cologne and put on his watch with a few rings on his fingers. Once he was satisfied he looked down at his phone to send the Sugar Baby the address of the bar he had chosen.

Here we go.

One final look in the mirror and Shinso grabbed his car keys to head to the front door. He locked the house behind him before walking over to his car. It wasn't a long drive to the bar but it felt like it to him. He pulled into the parking lot and parked his car in a good spot in the back. He pulled the keys out of the ignition before pulling his phone out to see if he got a message back. There was nothing so he shrugged it off before stepping out. The music of the bar neared as he got closer, he gave a few guys a nod in the front before walking into the front door. The smell of smoke and liquor filled his nostrils as he moved across the floor toward the bar.

Shinso walked over to the bar and took a seat at the far end. He didn't want to sit next to anymore, all he wanted to do was enjoy some whiskey and a cigar. Out of the pocket of his suit jacket he pulled out a cigar and cut the tip of it with a frown. He lit up the end before taking a drag from the cigar, the smokey flavor filled his mouth and he exhaled with a hum. His free hand slicked back a purple strand back in place. The place seemed busier than usual and the bar section was a bit more crowded than he would have liked. He slipped his hand into his pocket to pull out at his phone. Nothing so far so he just set it down on the counter. He looked down at his phone again with a frown, still no test message from the Sugar Baby he was supposed to meet up with tonight.

Slowly the restless feeling settled in his gut.

He opened up the app he used to talk to her in the first place and in bold letters were 'You have been blocked by Sugar_Bunny234'.

"Fucking figures." he mumbled underneath his breath.

His jaw clenched before he let out a tch from his lips. It wasn't the first time he'd been stood up by a Sugar Baby. It's happened so often now that he was numb to the rejection. She probably didn't like the money that was offered and wanted more.

All the fucking same.

If she wasn't going to bother showing up she could have said so instead of wasting my fucking time.

He looked down at the bar counter as he slipped his phone into his pocket. Since he was being stood up, he wanted that whiskey and wanted to go home after. There was no point to hang around when he had no one coming to meet with him. There was a lot of commotion down the other side of the bar. He looked over to see a small crowd of men talking to a female bartender. She hair her light pink in a messy bun, looked a little unkempt but he guessed that was why she had it up. She wore a white blouse and a black cardigan, Shinso didn't like the look of it because it was hiding the woman's thick body curves. From what he could see, the woman had wide hips, thick thighs and a decent pair of tits. The woman definitely wasn't a petite body but she was on the shorter side, probably around 5 foot or 5'2. She looked like she was lacking in the confidence department by the way she carried herself though.

Sometimes Shinso was too observant for his own good.

Interesting.

The woman definitely didn't look like she belonged in the bar. She looked almost lost in his opinion. Shinso took another drag from his cigar before he motioned his hand for either bartender. He watched the other bartender nudge the pink haired on and she turned her head toward his direction. A big pair of baby blue eyes locked with his and for a moment he held his breath. He released the smoke from his mouth as she wiped her hands on a towel before walking over toward his direction.

"Evening sir, what can I get you?" she said in a soft voice.

Ahh, the shy type.

"Whiskey. Jack Daniels if you have it." he tapped the end of the cigar into an ashtray.

"O-of course." she nodded her head before placing a glass on the counter.

He watched her drop the ice into the glass before pouring the liquid. As she did so, his eyes were locked on her hand. They were small compared to his and her pink nail polish was chipped on her index finger and thumb. There was no ring on her finger either so she must have been younger than he originally thought. His eyes looked back up at her face, her makeup was on the more dramatic side. A smokey eye with a cat eye wing and a bold red lip, the Sugar Babies he'd been dealing with always had natural makeup so seeing her was different.

He liked it.

The woman handed him his glass, "Here you go. Do you want me to put it on your tab, sir?"

"Hitoshi Shinso." he said before taking a drink. "That's the name on my tab here."

"Shinso? Like the Mimic Hero Shinso?" she whispered.

He placed the glace back down before looking back up at her, "The one and only."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." she gushed a little and fidgeted with the towel in her hand.

"Do I make you nervous?" he blinked.

"Oh, no. I mean..." she looked down flustered and tucks a run away strain of hair behind her ear. "You are quite intimidating."

Shinso chuckled. "Me or my quirk?"

"Neither. It's your eyes, sir."

He froze for a moment before taking another drink from his glass. "My eyes? Interesting. I've never heard that before."

"I just think they're gorgeous." she said in a soft voice.

His eyes widened at her comment and he was at a loss for words. It was the first time in his life another person made him feel flustered.

"Oh shoot." she quickly apologized. "I'm sorry about that. Sometimes I don't think before I speak. It's like word vomit."

He snorted. "What?"

"EVANGELINE." the other bartender shouted. "Get back to work and stop fucking flirting."

Shinso shot a glance at the other bartender, he looked to be in his mid twenties. Everything about him screamed fuck boy from how he dressed and how he presented himself.

Disgusting.

"Right!" Her face flustered into a deep shade of red. "E-excuse me."

Evangeline, huh? Cute.

Shinso watched her scurry along the back of the bar as she continued to take drink orders. He caught her glancing over at his direction a few times while he finished his cigar. She was a skittish one and he found her somewhat charming. She kept a smile on her face even though her bartending partner barked orders at her. Shinso didn't like that too much, he gripped his glass in irritation. For a moment, he took a deep breath and looked away from her. He shouldn't be acting like that because she wasn't his. He bit the inside of his cheek as he slipped off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves. Something about her caught his attention and he couldn't put his finger on it.

It was probably that cute shy smile she had.

Or those blue eyes?

He chuckled to himself as he lifted his hand to get her attention again and she nearly skipped over.

"Need another whiskey, sir?" she beamed a smile as she held up the Jack Daniel's bottle.

"Yes, if you don't mind." he smirked at her.

She hummed softly as she poured the liquid into the cup and gently pushed it back to him.

"How old are you sweetheart?"

Her cheeks lit up red. "I just turned 21 yesterday, sir."

She acts so much younger.

"Oh, happy late birthday. Did you celebrate?" he hummed as he took a drink of whiskey.

She shook her head with a smile. "Oh no, I had to work as usual. Same old same old."

"You didn't get a day off for your birthday?"

"No, my request got denied but it's not a big deal." Evangeline said as she wiped off the counter.

"Well, I hope your boyfriend makes up for it." Shinso raised an eyebrow.

She paused with a smile. "Oh, I don't have a boyfriend."

"Is that so? A beautiful girl like you?" he took a drag from his cigar after speaking.

"He cheated on me with my best friend." she gripped onto her arm with a scoff.

He coughed on the smoke before looking back at her. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked."

Evangeline giggled at Shinso as she handed him a napkin. "No, it's alright. You didn't know. After everything that went down I ended up packing my stuff and leaving. I'm still trying to get used to this city."

When she talked she tried to keep up that cute smile but Shinso could see past it.

Baby girl, you look so sad.

"When did you move out here?" he asked as he put out his cigar in the ashtray.

"I've been here for a couple of months now. I found a small apartment and didn't bring much with me when I left so it worked at the time. Now I'm saving up to find something better if I can." Evangeline nodded her head and giggled. "I think I can do it."

Maybe it was a good thing that he didn't meet that Sugar Baby tonight.

"Oh, I must be boring you." she giggled a bit.

"Not at all, sweetheart." he hummed and smirked back at her. "I was supposed to meet someone here but I got stood up."

"What? How would someone stand you up?" she frowned and slammed her hands on the counter. "Well, you don't need them. They were probably a jerk anyways."

"No need to flatter me." he shook his head and finished his whiskey.

"Excuse me! I find you incredibly nice and handsome. So their loss because I got to meet you." she crossed her arms with a smile.

Fuck, I want her.

His hand brushed up against her fingers as he handed her a decent tip. She looked down at her hand and her face blushed heavy as she looked back up at him. He gave her the money he was supposed to give that Sugar Baby that stood him up. It was roughly around 500 dollars. That's the price he usually pays in the beginning and doesn't shell out anything drastic until later. He gave her a smirk as she looked at him completely frazzled.

"I...I can't accept this. It's way too much, sir." she gasped.

"No, take it." he shook his head.

"S-sir, this is a lot of money. All I did was serve you two drinks." she flustered, he could almost see the gears shifting in her head.

"I insist." Shinso shook his head and placed his other hand over hers.

Evangeline shifted as Shinso stood up to lean over the counter. His hand tucked some loose hairs behind her ear with his free hand and whispered into her ear.

"We can say it's a birthday gift. Just promise me you'll buy yourself something nice."

"I..." she breathed.

There was a sudden bolt of electricity running through his body, making him freeze in place. It was incredibly overwhelming. He felt like a high coursing through his veins and his face flustered more. He felt like he couldn't breath but his body felt hot with a burning hot. His mouth watered as he stood there frozen in an overwhelming desire. It felt as if he was overstimulated during intercourse and his mind was getting clouded. His hand squeezed her as he tried to calm down. He felt like his legs were going to buckle underneath him. Evangeline noticed his change in demeanor and she quickly pulled her hand away. Once she pulled away from him. His hands slammed on the counter of the bar to keep himself stable. He was panting heavily as his eyes widened as she started at the counter. The music of the bar was muffled in his ears as he sat there trying to relax his breathing. Evangeline looked at him concerned and he clenched onto his thighs as he cleared his throat.

"I...I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." he breathed. "Did I squeeze your hand too hard?"

She shook her head with a frown.

All he could do was nod his head. "Just give me a minute and I'll be alright."

"Shoot, I'm sorry. M-my quirk is acting up again." she apologized profusely.

"Y-you quirk?" he breathed as he tried to regain his composer.

She rubbed the nape of her neck. "I have uh... a sensory quirk. Sometimes when people touch me they get overloaded with something. It can be overstimulating sometimes. It only happens when I'm..."

"What?" he breathed.

"When I'm excited..." She laughed softly but he knew she was embarrassed.

Oh, fuck.

Did I turn her on?

"I'll get you a glass of water."

He watched her move around the back of the bar to grab another cup to pour water inside of it. Evangeline slid it across the bar instead of handing it to him, he took it in his hand and lifted it to his lips. He was extremely parched from that single touch of her skin. What would happen if his entire body was against hers? He'd definitely lose his mind. The cold liquid slid down his throat and he took a deep breath after words.

"I really am sorry." she whispered.

"Sweetheart, you don't need to apologize. It's your quirk." he smiled at her and shook his head. "I just wasn't prepared for it."

"My boss thinks I should be wearing gloves for work but I was waiting to buy some when I get paid again." she rubbed the back of her head bashfully.

"Why? You have such beautiful hands." Shinso frowned at her. "You said it only happens when you are excited?"

"Y-yes, sir."

"Just be more careful. That's all you need to do." he smiled at her.

"I will try my best." Evangeline looked down sheepishly.

"EVANGELINE! GET BACK TO WORK!" the other bartender screamed from across the bar with a glare.

Shinso gave a settle glare back at the man.

Don't fucking talk to her that way.

"Oh shoot." she grumbled before looking back at Shinso. "It was a pleasure meeting you, sir."

"Likewise."

He watched Evangeline move down the bar once more before he grabbed a clean napkin next to him. He pulled a pen from his vest pocket and quickly wrote down his number on the napkin. He slipped it underneath the glass he used before getting up. They caught each other's eyes as Shinso headed toward the door. She gave him a shy wave goodbye and he gave her a wink in return. He watched her cheeks fluster from afar before her coworker lectured her. Shinso chuckled to himself before stepping out of the bar and then he realized how fast his heart was beating in his chest.

He felt like a teenager.
