AN: hello there, i am jc-montano, and this is my first fanfic of this style (and in this web site) so before starting, i would like to get out of the way the fact that English is my second language.
With that out of the way, I would also like to inform the fact that this story actually has a planned end, but until the time it arrives, I only have the basic information of what I want it to be, it can be changed for the better with Input of readers, I accept all kind of criticism (believe me, it can´t be worse than what I hear daily from college or at home) and I would ask for one of you to be my beta-reader to make it easier for you to read.
I also would like to say that anybody who thinks that they have an idea for one of the multiverses seen here, you are welcome to pm me and tell me your ideas, the credit will be given where it is due (but I am firm on the fact that there will be some homestuck here, I intend to put jaune in john´s place, and then change a lot of things from the canon, but most important, the spider´s arc will be a go to in this… also, I ask for help in naming the ship between jaune and vriska) some of the of the most known ships will be seen at least once on the viewings, or may not be seen completely, I prefer to keep them to myself as for the moment… and once all that was said, let´s keep this show rolling.
It was another morning at beacon, but with a clear difference for a small group of people, and that was the fact that the local "dorknight" of beacon was no longer a member of the student body, he wasn´t even at the premises of the prestigious academy since short to a month ago, a while after Cardin Winchester, the local bully and certain asshole decided to pull a low blow on jaune after the blonde knight-wannabe saved his life from an ursa major.
Right now one can see some students converging at the school´s cafeteria in order to get their breakfast and keep going to their classes, and it seemed like it was a normal and calm day… or so it seemed
"I still do not understand why you care so much about that dunce, he was just getting on the way" were sharp words of a white haired blue eyed girl who held herself in high regard at a passing glance, this girl was none other than Weiss schnee, the heiress to the SDC, the biggest company on the production and commercialization of dust on remnant.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!?" was the frantic scream from the youngest student at beacon academy as well as the team leader of team RWBY, the partner and leader of Weiss schnee, as well as self-proclaimed best friend of former student jaune arc, ruby rose.
"Well… it´s not like she is wrong, you are making all this bigger than it needs to be ruby" said the older sister of the red-hooded huntress-in-training, yang xiao-long, whom gained a betrayed expression from the girl in question
"BUT YAAAAAANG, IT IS NOT FAIR THAT JAUNE WAS EXPELLED, EVEN LESS TO BE PUT THROUGH THIS!" she screamed while signaling to the gossiping from the rest of the student body who were still making jokes at the former student.
"yang is right ruby, you are taking this out of proportion" said the last member of team RWBY, the local book-worm blake belladonna, also being considered as one of the "ninja" from the school with the former teammate of jaune arc, lie ren.
Ruby just let out a sad and small wine before crossing her arms and turning to the opposite side of the members from her team "Nope… I refuse to accept that" she said at the time that the members of the now named team PRN or porrin were taking their seats at the table, all of them looking worse for wear than a month ago.
"still having problems with the team based exercises?" asked the only blonde present" if I didn´t knew better one would think that jaune was actually the one who made all the work" she tried to joke with the three, who only gave her tired looks, or in the case of the read head, an angry look for reminding them of their beloved leader.
"just… don´t speak… please" said a tired ren who seemed like he tried to go another round against the death stalker from initiation, but as it seemed like they would be going back to a more amicable conversation, is that they started to notice how the sky was still on a reddish tone, at the start they just thought nothing of it, but now that they were more awake, did they notice how it was abnormal for the sky to still be like that, and before anybody could say or do anything, did a great flash appear and take the seven students from the chair, leaving the rest of the school in a sort of stasis, everybody being still and unmoving.
IN ANOTHER LOCATION, ROUGHLY AT THE SAME TIME
On the middle of what seemed to be a giant room with a monitor which almost took the entirely of a wall for its big size, did a group of people appear suddenly, all of them falling to the floor for the sudden disappearance of their seats
"AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH" screamed the blonde at feeling somebody fall on her hair, making her enter her rage mode before realizing it was her sister, who was now trying to get away before she got a punch to the face for the small accidentally on her hair.
" EEP, I AM SO SORRY" she screamed while trying desperately to get away, only to fall when she smashed against the chest of a tall man with black hair and a disheveled jacket, seeming more like a scarecrow than a man for a second"… UNCLE CROW YOU HAVE TO PROTECT ME" she screamed as she tried to get behind her uncle.
"What did you do now short stack" said the now mentioned qrow while smiling amused
(I was planning of presenting them all, but it gets a little bit tiring after a short while, I mean, come on, if you found this it probably was because you were looking for something like this, so the intros are kinda useless… this is the list of the characters I am going to use.
Team rwby, sn (sun and Neptune) prn
Beacon staff, James, qrow, winter, penny and Maria.
Salem and her minions, maybe merlot later (I don't know why I like that character) oh, and roman and neo, if you want more characters here, just pm and give a way to introduce them, because where I am it´s 11 o'clock and I feel kind of tired)
"Well… now that everybody seems to have gotten at least the polite greeting to each other… I think it is time for me to present myself" said a being that seemed like a man on a black and neon red suit, but what made him be different were the clear lack for facial structure and a lot of fur covering him, with what seemed to be bear ears at the top of his head "greetings, I am the humble being charged to see and catalogue each and every important event from your world" he said while seeing the people of remnant turn to him, some with a little bit of trepidation, or hostility, and certainly a lot of surprise form two individuals who could not stop themselves but compare him a pair of self-righteous beings
"oh, there is no need for that ladies and gentlemen, I fear it would be useless to attack me right now, and even if you did attack me, and subsequently defeat me, you would still be trapped here" he said with what seemed an almost cheerful tone to his voice, and before he could continue, he was interrupted.
"yeah, sorry faceless bear…thingy, but I think I speak for everybody here when I say this… who the fuck are you and why did you bring us here?" asked a clearly annoyed roman who stared at the being while he just nodded.
"Oh yeah, I knew I was forgetting something, thank you Mr. Torchwick, but you do not need my name and… well, the easy answer is that… your world is no more" he said while the group screamed
"WHAAAAT!?" "WHAT DID YOU DO YOU FREAK!" "NOOOOOOOOO, ZWEI" were only a part of what the big group were shouting, some of those thing weren´t exactly apt for all public.
"yeah… well, the world was accidentally finished as of 12:27 of today, and even thought I should not do this, as of this moment, this has been catalogued as a corrupted session and I have been given the permission to do with the population of remnant as I see fit" those words were making everybody nervous, but one decided to speak.
"wait… you said that remnant was destroyed ""accidentally""… what do you mean by it… and more important, how?" asked the general ironwood who stared at the bear like being, hoping that it wasn´t because of atlas or a plan from Salem.
"well… it is quite self-explaining, the world was ended, destroyed, finished, sleeping with the fishes, all that, because of a small group of individuals, decided to install the system of sburb" he said with the same cheerful tone " the system would then give a time to the individuals to do a short series of tasks until they can use an object given to them by the system so they can escape the purge of their old world at the same time they get transported to another world… but as of right now, I managed to keep the destruction of remnant and the planet itself on a stasis like state until I can reach all persons of interest and bring them here… you all were the easiest to locate thanks to constant contact to two beings with the essence of my old bosses" he said while still staring at them.
"who… who destroyed remnant" said ozpin quickly trying to divert the fact that it was thanks to him that the people on ""his"" side were saved.
"well, I am almost sure you all know at least one of them, after all he was a member of beacon academy until some time ago, his name is jaune arc" he said shocking all the presents who attended beacon,
"WHAT! REMNANT WAS ENDED BECAUSE OF THAT IDIOT!" screamed a very angry Weiss schnee who looked to be in a war path, almost glaring daggers at the bear-like being.
"Who is the ice queen jr.?" asked qrow to his niece only to get a pout of ruby for calling her best friend like that.
"Well… I mean, the world would have ended all the same, but it is thanks to jaune arc that I had access to you and he is the reason for why now this ""session"" is now considered a corrupted one by the big guys, and no longer is one of their concerns… so… he saved all of you?" he said trying in vain to help one of the players and quite personally, the one he had bets placed with his other colleagues on who would be the big guy of the group.
"oh yes, he saved us and that is the reason why remnant is now going to be a big ball full of craters and fire" said Weiss with clear scorn in her voice, only getting a faux glare from pyrrha and ruby.
"as bad as it may be, he did say our world was already doomed, so maybe rather than fighting here, we should be asking the important questions, like… were is Mr. arc right now?" asked the headmaster of beacon looking at the being in front of them, making him snap his fingers.
"oh right, well… normally I could show to you were he is right now, but freezing the meteors around remnant and stopping more from appearing has caused me to lose his signal, I am receiving sixteen similar signals to the last one he gave out, but I can´t pinpoint him right now, so I fear I cannot show him to you for now" he said while looking at one tablet that suddenly appeared on his hands, which caused most of them to tense up" oh, but while I try to get a clear readings of his signal, I can reach to the leftover energy he left behind on his… exit of this world " as he said this, the people who were summoned there started to truly calm down.
"And what exactly is this you will be showing us?" asked cinder fall who just now deigned herself to speak with the being who she would love nothing more than to burn to a crisp.
"Thank you for asking, well, I can only show you the residual energy that jaune produced, I do not understand how, or why, but apparently he is… ""glitched"" in a strange way, I can detect at least twelve more jaune arc´s with him as of right now, and the signals keep multiplying and dividing themselves as we speak" said the bear-like being who kept himself to play with the tablet.
"well… are you going to show us what jaune did, or something else?" asked pyrha while feeling nervous about what jaune may have done to remnant, if this being is right, then jaune may be the reason why her mother is now death or at least on the cosmic chopping block.
"oh no, I am starting to tear the energy, and there are more… inconsistencies than I originally thought, I mean, I can show some possible outcomes to your world without sburbs´ interference… but strangely, there are still some effects of it on this timeline, nothing too important, just… something strange" he said staring strongly at his tablet, reading something only he could understand right now.
"Well, what are we waiting, show us fearless leader!" said an exited Nora as she started to jump up and down only for a strange puff to hit her in the mid-section of her body making her roll a bit backwards.
"get confortable, It will take a while for us to reach jaune arc´s actual location and be able to observe him, so until then I will have to show you some of this… alternative timelines which now can be considered doomed" he said while starting up the great monitor, which ended up being a window "oh right, just let me filter this out" and then the lines were away, showing a big and glitch image
A HERO´S LAST BATTLE
The ""window"" opens up showing beacon academy, but there was something wrong with the image, the school was filled to the brim by different types of grim, some were high ranking like a death stalker which was destroying almost everything in the auditorium, or a beringel which had taken the dorm rooms as his lair, and in any place of campus there were groups of students trying to fight back the invading force and recuperate their home, only to be attacked on the back by the mechanized military strength of atlas
"W…WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!" screamed a confused pyrha as she stared at the almost destroyed academy, none of the ""heroic"" people were better, ozpin looked quite saddened about his institutions destruction, while James was disappointed when he saw some of his knights were helping attack a group of students
"why are your tin cans attacking students morning wood?" was the question directed to the general by Qrow branwen, who was starting to feel pissed when he saw one attack yang, but a sly smirk appeared when she punched it into oblivion.
"I do not know why they are doing this, but I assure you that I do not have anything to do with this attack" he said seriously while staring at his machines, he always thought atlas as an incorruptible marvel, and this viewing was spitting on his face.
"So this is a doomed timeline?" asked cinder as she stared curiously at the window, her plans succeeding were actually labeled as doomed timelines?
"this one not so much at the moment, but later on after, yes, it becomes one without question, but I won´t spoil it to you… enjoy" said the bear like being before he shut any more conversation.
Outside of the biggest tower of beacon were two students, more specifically jaune arc and his partner pyrha Nikos "I have to go there jaune, professor ozpin said that i…" she was Interrupted when jaune just turned at her, an annoyed expression on his face.
"Can you just… not?" he said while staring at his partner "I know you want to go there, but you will only get yourself killed pyrha, she defeated ozpin, what can you do what he couldn´t? Spoiler warning, nothing" said while trying to talk his partner down from going on a suicide mission
"wait, jaune would never act like that" said a slightly confused ruby who was staring around, but she was answered quite quickly
"yeah… this is actually in a timeline were jaune was not expelled, the problem is that he still had to deal with the student body scorn, and with a partner who got more distant with each day headmistress glynda goodwitch wanted to speak of a… project, he started to become slightly jagged at your group" said the bear like being who was reading the info from his tablet "that is… new" he said while starring at a few notes.
Jaune stared at the tower for a moment, deciding to ponder on his options, he knew pyrha would go no matter what he tried to do, and even if he managed to get her to run, apparently her having half of the maiden powers would cause cinder to run after her, so taking a deep breath he turned to see pyrha opening the locker in which she was most likely leave him unconscious so she could go and get herself killed "… goodbye pyr" he said while pushing her strongly, getting her unprepared for the sudden movement, and then he locked the door before setting the coordinates to the evacuation point "take good care of the team for me partner… I will try and buy time" he smiled while turning around, leaving his shield on the floor, if he was going to die, he would deal all the damage he could
"wait, why is he doing that, no jaune-jaune, you can´t go, you will die!" screamed a frantic Nora at seeing her fearless leader send their best fighter away while he just went into what he himself said was a suicide mission.
"why exactly is vomit boy doing such a stupid thing?" asked yang while starting to feel dread from the way jaune just released his shield on the floor to then walk back into the tower, almost uncaring in his own survival.
"that stupid boy will die" said a smirking cinder while mercury just kind of lowered his head, he had started to hang out with jaune a pair of days before he went away, and he had to admit that jaune knew more of dancing than he himself, even then he was the first to give him a compliment without snark in it, and seeing him commit suicide this way just made him feel bad for his acquaintance.
Jaune kept walking, and once he arrived at the top of the tower, everything seemed fine, so taking a moment to set his scroll on recording, he put it below ozpin´s desk before sitting on top "this will be probably the biggest fuck you I have given ozpin since arriving here at beacon, I mean… come on, I cheated my way here, scored better on the strategy for leaders class than the last four generations or so, if I fucking get what I want from this I will punch him in the face on the afterlife" jaune kept blabbing, by his tone of voice everybody could tell he was nervous, but decided to keep quiet.
"Well… I guess this is as good time to give my final regards to everybody… first, dad, I am sorry I didn´t work as hard as you wanted me to, I know you would never say it, but… sorry for disappointing you" one could almost feel the sadness on his voice.
"to my sisters, I want to make clear that I loved each one of you damned hyperactive… and I am sorry I won´t be there anymore, take good care for each other" there was a small crack on his voice but he continued, in the distance there could be heard steps get closer.
"to my friends in beacon… I am not really able to call many that here I guess, but hey, there is you pair of hyperactive midgets, ruby and Nora" he said with at least a more upbeat tone now "don´t feel bad because your sorry excuse for a friend decided to become a human shield, go be happy out there… and Nora, please stop beating around the bush when it concerns ren".
This got a sad expression from team RBY to the exception of Weiss who only ignored the fact that arc decided to not say her name, yang otherwise just felt bad for her sister losing the first true friend she had made, and ruby was crying thinking how awful the universe was with them all, on the other hand, pyrha felt a sting in her heart at jaune deciding to not dignate to say her name, she felt truly bad about what her counterpart did.
On the other hand, the members of the inner circle to the exception of ozpin and even hazel where feeling more upbeat at the fact that jaune was ruining all ozpin had work so hard for, his past-life record being broken by a young man who didn´t even went to a prep school just felt insulting, and him managing to fool him for a while just stung at his pride, hazel even started laughing, he was starting to like this arc kid, the same could be said about salem, her only problem would be the fact he ruined one of her plans, and the other is that he is fighting one of her minions.
"And for last, I want to say this… Harley, strider and to you too lalonde, you were my best friends since I was just a kid, and I am sorry we never got to play together online anymore after I went to beacon… I just want you three to know how much you meant to me… and that no matter what… I still considered you my best friends" he said while deciding to stand up and walk a little bit ahead "oh, and strider… please erase my browser history" he said the last part scratching the back of his neck while seeming a little bit nervous
That last part got the male members of the cast to laugh a bit "that strider guy better do that" said sun while laughing, maybe jaune didn´t know how to use the incognito of dustle.
On the other part, his team felt betrayed that he did not see them as his best friends, but considering the time he said they knew each other it wouldn't be that surprising, but still, even ruby felt betrayed and her eyes wanted to sprout water now that jaune finally recognized somebody other than herself as his best friend.
From the stairs after he said that came cinder fall, with a flaming eye and a smirk" well well well, it was not the one I was planning to kill now, but I guess you can entertain me while little Ms. Invincible girl comes here, and when she sees your corpse on the ground… I will take what is rightfully mine" she said with such confidence that jaune almost thought this was all set on stone… but he refused that notion, he absconded from the idea
"I fear you may have miscalculated that, I mean, it´s not like she will even come on the first place, considering how she is right now on the extraction point probably being held down by goodwitch… I doubt you could reach her before she managed to escape" as jaune talked, one could just feel the security of his own half-baked plan he made on a second
"This… will blow up on his face, I am sure" said Neptune while trying to make the universe pull a reverse murphy law, the rest of the students looked at him, some with betrayed expressions.
"What does she mean by taking what is rightfully hers?" asked ruby, only to be ignored by the bear like being, who only shrugged, and he wasn't really that attentive to what happened in the timelines without sburb or whatever version of it the universe in question had
Cinder laughed at him while deciding to get out her bow and notch an arrow "anyway as it is… you won´t know the outcome of it" and as she said this, the arrow was released, leaving the room on silence until there was a sound of metal being stuck, and showing jaune unaffected.
"Yeah… I think you will need more than that to break my aura sparky" he said with some snarck of his own, feeling quite vindictive right now with the fire bitch in front of him " let´s make this happen" jaune murmured to himself before running towards the half fall maiden.

[S] STRIFE
Those were the words that appeared on the window on big golden letters as the students were weirded out by this new personality of jaune, and that was the fact until the bear like being spoke
"for those who are confused about jaune´s change of personality… it is mostly thanks to this timeline, as of right now you are seeing the KNIGHT OF RAGE or at least who could become it if he reached his full potential" as he spoke, everybody just stared at him weirdly "oh right, you still don´t understand the finer mechanics of jaune´s situation… oh well, this explanation can wait" as he said that, an upbeat music started sounding before the window was filled by colors.
Jaune was sliding back till he smashed against ozpin´s desk, only to fall backwards from it, and barely dodge a fire ball which was burning part of his left shoe "…. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" he screamed while starting to try and put the fire out, ignoring cinder who was aiming another arrow this time to his legs.
"Let´s see your aura protect you from this" as cinder spoke, she released the arrow, and this time it did pierce the flesh, causing jaune´s scream to add a higher pitch to its sound, but cinder ignored it in favor of melting his armor onto his skin and quite possibly burn him alive.
As this happened, the huntsmen were feeling sick, seeing somebody that young just being tortured by fire was already bad, but for it to be somebody who almost everybody who got to know him were in concordance that he was far too nice for this kind of gruesome death was more hurtful, and it got worse for ruby and pyrha considering their crushes on the tall knight-wanna be.
"Come on, you didn´t even scratch me, and you thought you could actually pose a chance against me?" cinder was boasting of this, her unchallenged victory against this pitiful being, but she did not care, she loved beating him down to a pulp, but she did stop when he started laughing, before stabbing him with a glass knife between the melting metal on his heart
"je,je,je… yeah, I am pretty much useless… but I refuse to let you just hurt my friends… and I made the promise… to myself" he was having difficulties to breath as the melted metal just seemed to tighten around his body, and the knife dug more into his skin, stopping him from raising his chest correctly "I would kill you… even if it cost me… my life" as he said that he raised up, his aura on a brighter color than it ever was, it seemed almost like all the shadow on the room were erased by the light the aura produced. And while one could see his clothes starting to burn off, the metal seemed to shimmer a little bit before concealing onto his form, now rather than following gravities demands, it seemed to have a mind of its own, following what one could try to guess as jaune´s aura flow, it started to form an old type of knightly armor, but the metal seemed to combine with the aura to have more mass, the shoulders seemed to spike up, giving him a jaded look, and his face was suddenly covered on by a strange helmet with an almost skeletal design, as for the knife, it seemed to have been taken by jaune as metal covered it, giving jaune two weapons to fight with, crocea mors and his new sword.
The students were freaking out a little bit at seeing him almost die only for him suddenly start appearing this armor out of molten metal and his own aura, cinder just kept smirking thinking herself able to melt his new armor again, while mercury just freaked out by the absurdity of the situation.
"I am certainly the strongest out there… but I know that if I let you live more than I… you will kill so many innocent people… both Faunus and human alike… that is why… no matter what… I won´t stop until you are death on my feet… even IF I HAVE TO BECOME SOMETHING ELSE TO MANAGE IT!" and with that last scream, the light went away as suddenly as it appeared, just leaving the armored arc with a shining eye, a heart symbol on his chest, particularly with a scratch were the knife was stabbed seconds ago "AND FOR EVERYBODY´S HOPES…FOR EVERYBODY´S DREAMS… I WILL KILL YOU RIGHT HERE" and so, with one last scream and an unintelligible reference for the audience, did jaune arc start to finally hit back, using his full force to swing his dual swords trying to kill cinder, and with every hit, he seemed to feel less and less rage as he strikes cinder, almost as if he was becoming an uncaring warrior, just hitting the same spot, and for all the time he did this, he was starting to see the rage filled face of cinder who was starting to commit small but dangerous mistakes.
"Why… why does he seem so in control when a moment ago he was almost as bad as yang gets" asked a curious ruby who just could not understand what is happening.
"oh, that is the knight aspect of jaune arc, thanks to this timeline being a knight of rage, he can become more in control of his own rage as well as his teammates, but since he is subconsciously tapping that power, and he is unable to reach the source of the powers I speak of, he can only do this for now" the bear like thing said as he showed how jaune slowly gained better control of his anger in battle "but it comes with a price, he may be in control of his ""bad"" feelings, but on the long run he will be unable to control them, not without his ""ascension"" "those were his last words before the window continued
"YOU INSUFERABLE BUG, STAY STILL SO I CAN SQUASH YOU" screamed cinder as jaune simply kept to attacking her and blocking some attacks of her own, there wasn´t a reason to really, considering how lame that was.
"seriously, even AG could come up with something better when trying to ""troll"" my friends and i… are you sure you make good banter?" the question only seemed to infuriate more the half fall maiden, causing her to launch a lot of fire to you "well… if they truly can see me now… I don´t want the grey text to go all ""I TOLD YOU TO NOT TRUST BLAH BLAH BLAH, STUPID HUMAN BLAH BLAH BLAH"" oh Gog, please let somebody leave him unconscious".
For the watchers this just seemed like useless words, or unimportant except for his team, and the RB of RWBY, considering one complained about humans and the rest just wanted to know who they were, but both ruby and pyrha didn´t like what this could mean- did jaune speak with more people we don´t know? - was a common question of the students.
"anyway… let´s finish this once and for all" just as jaune said this, he grabbed his two swords and took them in a reverse grip with the intention of eviscerating her to finally finish this, but the moment he was taking a step ahead, a dragon suddenly smashed its way through the roof "… I CALL BULLSHIT ON THIS" was the scream of jaune as he seemed to be back at angry and receive a fire ball to the face from cinder, making him fall back down.
Neptune made a face palm, yep, the murphy's laws were against jaune and they seemed to be back with a vengeance with the sole objective of killing the other blonde bro you know.
"I Am NoT In THE MOTHERFUCKING MOOD FOR THIS MOTHER FUCKERS" that scream caught both the cinder on the viewing as well as everybody on the other side of the window.
Then the scene showed jaune starting to fight in a more violent manner, trying an seeming to succeed in killing the dragon grim, since with the same thing he wished to do towards cinder he did the dragon, causing it to fall and leave cinder staring slack jawed and wide eyed at the useless meat shield of beacon.
Nobody was much better than cinder, even less Weiss, who decided that It would be easier to try and forget this than to accept that jaune arc, no matter if he was from another time line or whatever, was a competent fighter.
Jaune was still on a rage filled state after being subjected to the last bullshit shenanigans the universe decided to sock at him, he was feeling again just like the first time that AA talked to him, confused annoyed and over all, like punching something so hard it broke… and lucky him, there was something to do about that.
Jaune kept walking to the still shocked cinder, and raising one of his sword he lowered into her, that is the last thing the window managed to record before being filled with blood, obscuring what happened next.
"… Whelp, I think that should be enough for now" said the bear like being while staring at the shocked expression of the presents.
"Di…did jaune just kill somebody? "Was the question of a ruby rose who could not manage to understand what she had just seen, this could not be real and this was all a dream.
"I CALL BULLSHIT ON THAT" was the scream of an irate cinder fall after managing to get over the shock of the useless knight kill the grim wyvern and herself, this couldn´t be happening.
