I know this is not an update to daughter of night raid, but chapter 3 is still being worked on. In the meantime, here is a new story.

Summary: 400 years ago, during the reign of dragons, two people fell in love. Irene Belserion, the Queen of Dragons, and Anna Heartfilia, the greatest celestial spirit mage of the time. The two were together even when Irene had to get a political marriage to Rung. But, before she turned into a dragon, Irene was pregnant with twins, who were created by the combined magic of the two. After 400 years, Irene gave birth to the twins, whom she named Erza and Lucy. Erza had red hair and brown eyes, looking like Irene. But Lucy had brown eyes and blonde hair with streaks of red in it. After going against the idea of enchanting herself into one of the children, she left Erza in Rosemary Village, and Lucy with Anna's descendant, Layla Heartfilia. This was all unknown until Erza's battle with Irene, where the truth was uncovered.

I recommend not reading this story until you have at least finished the main fairy tail series as there are spoilers for the end of the alvarez empire arc. The story stays the same as canon(mostly) until Erza and Wendy fight Irene. Also, Irene does not kill herself in this story.

Chapter 1: 400 years ago

400 years ago, during the reign of dragons, two people found love. Irene Belserion and Anna Heartfilia. With the power of Irene's enchantments and Anna's celestial spirit magic, Irene was now pregnant. But, with the Dragon King Festival going on, the two eventually had to split apart. After Irene's dragon seed started to bloom and he was thrown into the dungeon of her own castle, she placed an enchantment on herself. This stopped her from giving birth.

"PLEASE, you have to let me go!," yelled Irene as she talked to her (unwanted) husband. After her skin started to crack and dragon scales started to show. This started the process of the dragon seed blooming. Rung just stared at her with an angry look. He had no intention of letting this monster go. She, after all, was just like Acnologia. This was a thought he shivered at. Never had he thought that dragon slaying magic, the power that turned the tide of the war, to be so, so, demonic.

"Not a chance in hell, monster." He said, continuing to stare at an enemy of humanity. There was no such thing as a good dragon. Even if she was once human. When she was human, he always thought that she was doing something behind his back. Even when questioned she denied.

"Please," Irene whispered, "I'm pregnant." She hoped this would work. Then she would be able to rejoin with the true love of her life, Anna. Rung just stared at her, no emotion showing. "You've been in this cell for three years, there is no chance that you're pregnant." Irene just looked up and said, "I placed an enchantment on myself so I don't have to give birth here."

"There is no way that you're pregnant. I'll just have to cut you in half to prove it!" Yelled Rung as he drew his sword, preparing to kill Irene. As he sang, the woman in front of him yelled and started to transform, throwing him into the wall and then smashing him under her clawed foot. The guards then came to try and kill her as she destroyed the wall that led to the outside in her cell and flew away into the mountains.

-time skip(400 years)-

As Irene was walking through the forests of her current home, she stumbled upon a man wearing black and white. "Do my eyes deceive me," he said as he looked at Irene, "or is it really a dragon?" As Irene looked at him, she asked "who're you?"

The man just smiled and said, "Oh, so you were once human. I'm Zeref, and I can turn you back into a human. Well, to an extent." Irene was stunned, in front of her was a way to change back. She immediately answered back,"Yes, please just do it."

Zeref didn't say anything as he started to cast a spell. After he did this, Irene started to turn back into her human form. After he was done, she ran to the lake close by and was amazed that it worked. "This is just an illusion I made," said Zeref "you're still a dragon but with a human form." Irene didn't care, all she did care about was that she was human.

As the two of them parted ways, Irene went to the closest village as she hadn't eaten good food in 400 years. As she ordered and started eating, she found out that it was all tasteless. Zeref did say that she was still a dragon, and dragons don't taste food. As she sat in an alleyway in the village, she realized that she could enchant herself into the child that would be born, and get a second chance at life.

Once she undid the enchantment, months later she gave birth to not one, but two girls. She was happy that they were both girls, as she didn't have to change gender, but was stunned that there were two of them. As she sat by the lake and looked at the two infants. She realized that the oldest was essentially a copy of her, having the same hair and eyes. The second, the youngest, looked like a combination of her and Anna. The eyes were brown as they both had the same, but her hair was a combination. Primarily blond but with red streaks. As Irene looked at the two, she realized that she just couldn't enchant herself into one of the bodys. They were both smiling at her as she cried.

After this, Irene did something she never thought she would do. She named them. The oldest was called Erza, and the youngest was called Lucy. Before she gave birth, she had traveled around and found out that Anna had a line of descendants already in this world. So she would give the current Heartfilia, Layla, Lucy to her, and explain the situation. Erza, on the other hand, she dropped off at an orphanage in Rosemary village. As Irene left Her, she realized how much she was going to miss them.

- time skip-

It was a peaceful day in the Heartfilia Mansion. Layla was in a garden behind the actual house. Jude in a meeting, as usual. Sometimes, Layla thinks that he doesn't care about her sometimes, just money. As she was walking, she heard a ruffling coming from the forest nearby. As she went to investigate, She saw a red haired woman holding a baby. "Layla Heartfilia, Descendent of Anna Heartfilia," she said.

Layla had no idea how this stranger knew about her ancestor, so she asked. "Who are you, and how do you know who I am?" The woman laughed, then she smirked and talked. "The reason I know Anna is because we used to be together. In fact, she is the mother of my children. My name is Irene Belserion, and I need you to take care of my youngest." Layla was stunned, she had no idea how this woman, Irene, was together with Anna. That was 400 years ago.

"That was 400 years ago," Layla said, "how are you alive?" Irene laughed, then told her story. How they used magic to make herself pregnant. How Irene turned into a dragon for 400 years. How she turned back, and what she intended, but decided against, the use for her children. She also explained about Erza, and that she thought it was best to keep them apart. "I have no idea if they inherited any of Anna or I's magic. I might be a surprise. Just please keep it from her that she was adopted. I might see her again one day and explain it myself."

Layla was amazed at the story that Irene told her. The child that was going to be her adopted daughter, was actually her ancestor. She was going to need to explain this to Jude somehow. Since Layla was infertile, the two could not have kids. He would only be happy that he got a "hire", to the company. If she took anything from Irene's story and what she knew about Anna, Lucy would grow up to become a wonderful person, no matter what magic she had.
