"Right we are about to enter the U-DO Simulator, so stay focused and don't stop at any point!" Rubedo called out suddenly he felt a warmth from behind as his sapphire eyes looked back.
Behind him, was his easily strung white-haired twin. "Hey." Rubedo spoke as Albedo's small amethyst eyes looked towards his brother's face.
"U-DO, you said U-DO right..?" Albedo stammered as he simultaneously shook his head in great fear of even hearing about making any eye contact with it.
The nervous U.R.T.V looked towards the simulator door with fear and then back at his brother before quickly grabbing Rubedo's arm and started to shake, with a reluctant sigh Rubedo walked with his brother towards the twin doors to the U-DO simulator.
Albedo looked at all the non-variants, he felt like he was going crazy as he "saw" all of them glaring at him with resentment completely consuming their eyes.
"Ru-Rubedo, are you sure this is a good idea..?" Albedo began to whimper as the older U.R.T.V looked back with an annoyed sigh.
"Totally, just follow what I do." Rubedo quickly grabbed Albedo's right palm and directed it towards the waves to counter them.
All was going well as each wave was being completely deflected, Rubedo suddenly stopped as a vision began to show inside his mind.
"Rubedo, what's wrong did something happen!?" Nigredo called out concerned quickly running towards him with Albedo following shortly after.
Rubedo collapsed to his knees, he held his head to stop the throbbing as the other U.R.T.V's anxiously watched trying to see if he was alright.
"Rubedo! Rubedo are you okay?" The white-haired twin asked almost on the brink of crying as he shook Rubedo's unresponsive body.
He couldn't see anything, just thick black darkness covering his vision.
The smell of rotting blood and the sounds of screaming could be heard, it was almost like his subconscious was warning him of a future event or something tragic was going to happen if he didn't act quickly enough question was- to prevent what from happening?
(I want- I long- I desire to see your face covered in such a beautiful red substance..) the voice did a sadistic sigh of delight followed by a laugh as Rubedo gritted his teeth trying to figure out who it belonged to.
(You won't bother HIM anymore- you won't be able to even lift a finger to touch him as well! How delightful!)
(Just us, only him and me.. Me and him-)
The voice continued to ramble, slowly descending into insanity as Rubedo's chest caved in fear.
Repeating the same words over and over, Rubedo held his head trying to ignore the mad whispers and laughter echoing inside his mind.
Before he could be tormented further Rubedo woke up drenched in sweat as he found himself in bed, his sapphire eyes shaking in absolute fear at what he witnessed.
"Are you okay, Rubedo?" Albedo asked as his eyes looked up and down anxiously trying to see any damage to his brother's body.
"I'm fine, it's just-" Rubedo was completely speechless at what he saw, he couldn't understand it clearly. Almost like fragmented memories of a distant future.
Something sparked inside himself, he needed to learn more.
He stood up letting his feet touch the floor before giving a frim look towards Albedo and Nigredo.
"I'm the leader remember? You gotta be tough to survive when you're leading after all." Rubedo forced a smile on his face before walking off outside to towards the local park, he needed get some time to think.
We watched his comrades go by on their break with a sigh, he looked towards the doors inside the Dimtri Institute to see Juli enter the park.
"Rubedo, I noticed you haven't been feeling yourself lately are you alright?" She asked sitting down next to him, Rubedo simply shook his head about to explain the dream he had last night.
"This- nightmare I had, I think it's a warning." Juli interrupted him looking quite concerned,
"What do you mean a warning; a warning to what exactly?"
Rubedo looked at her with a frustrated sigh,
"That's what I want to know."
The two were silent for a while before he stood up looking towards the Residental Quarters.
"I might need sometime to hang out with the others." He waved goodbye as he headed towards the Residental Quarters where #623 waited for him.
He sat down with a big sigh against the couch, #623 smiled after seeing Rubedo and went closer to him.
"Hey man, what's got you down?" He asked happily as Rubedo simply shook his head in response.
"Uh it's nothin' don't worry about me, say what have you been doing?"
The two friends kept talking as Nigredo was cutting the vegetables for the stew.
Nigredo let out gasp as he suddenly stopped cutting.
(Leave him alone, you two faced bastard!)
He heard Albedo's voice coldly yell as his emerald eyes began to shake, he looked over to where Albedo was- he was simply watching the television.
"Hey, Rubedo did you hear something?" Nigredo asked with a worried face as both the U.R.T.Vs shook their heads in confusion and disagreement.
Nigredo was dumbfounded, why did only he hear that voice just now?
He simply shrugged it off as he heard a conversation with Rubedo and Albedo from behind him.
"I just gotta talk to #623 for a bit tomorrow, it's just about the lastest combat module." Albedo told Rubedo as he gave a small nod back, but Nigredo knew something was definitely up.
"Rubedo." Nigredo spoke immediately as the two U.R.T.V's heads turned to face him.
He quickly called Rubedo over for a private conversation with him leaving Albedo behind.
It took a while for Nigredo to get his words out, he finally got ready to speak as he cleared his throat.
"Something's wrong with Albedo, I can sense something's wrong." Nigredo spoke quietly with worry as Rubedo pulled a look of confusion on his face.
"He hasn't even done anything, why do you say that?"
Nigredo went aback after hearing Rubedo question him, he thought his older brother would understand him immediately.
He shook his head almost in frustration, as he frimly held Rubedo's hand with a look of worried honesty.
"I'm serious!" Nigredo spoke rather agressive now, Rubedo simply sighed and shook his head.
Nigredo was felt uneasy and heartbroken, normally his brother would be logically reason with something like this.
He'd understand and try and solve his problems but for some reason he sounded like he thought Nigredo was a liar.
Nigredo turned back to see that both Albedo and #623 had left, he sprinted outside towards the forest outside the Institute.
"Nigredo, where are you going?!" Rubedo called out worried as his eyes watched him jump the barrier that divided the two areas apart.
Nigredo's shoes crunching against the grass as he stormed through the forest, the other U.R.T.V's serial number kept flowing through his mind.
(623... 623... 623...)
Everywhere he looked around, he couldn't find a single trace of him at all.
"Argh!" Nigredo called out holding his head as a commucation link surged within him.
At first it was simply static, but the more he aimlessly kept walking across the forest the more the static began slowly dispersing.
It was general talking then all of a sudden loud yelling as Nigredo desperately tried to decipher the static to hear the voices better.
"I-i don't understand what I did to upset you? all I did was-" a loud cut scream followed by sudden unnerving dead silence, Nigredo's thoughts were immediately interrupted once he felt a familiar presence from behind him.
"It's the same phrase you and him say alot isn't it? The same sequence of such stupid numbers." Nigredo gasped as he felt his body collapse to the ground, shortly starting to feel a unusual sinister aura start to loom the forest.
"What- WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?!" Nigredo called out as abacked in fear upon seeing #623's body in his arms.
"You can tell he lies to Rubedo, he's so weak! He can't even form a single collective conscious." Nigredo was confused at what he said, but it didn't matter he could tell Albedo was derlious and violent now.
"He begged, pleaded for his pathetic life Nigredo, don't you know how much Rubedo absolutely despises the weak?" His eyes shifted towards his scared brother rather meancingly as Nigredo put on a brave face.
"Don't do anymore." Nigredo spoke immediately struggling to stand up as Albedo started looking quite psychotic, he threw the now dead #623 across the ground as Nigredo gritted his teeth in disgust as he turned away.
"Oh? and what are you going to do Nigredo- try and tell Rubedo about what I've done?" Albedo spoke in a nonbelieving tone with a smirk.
"You just LOVE to intervene don't you..?" He pushed him back with such a powerful force, sending Nigredo to hit the tree calling out in agony.
Nigredo felt his leg try to dislocate as he began now yelling in pain, struggling to have a clear sight on Albedo.
"You're gonna cry to Rubedo now aren't you?!" He said crazed as one of Nigredo's emerald eyes finally met Albedo's face, it began to glow profusely. He gritted his teeth upon seeing the sick grin spread across his lips.
"Yeah, I'll tell Rubedo- and bring you with me." Nigredo sternly said as he fired a laser from his eye, Albedo pursed his lip as he felt his arm slice off his body.
The recoil of the laser sent Nigredo back a little as he began to fire even more beams from his eyes, phasing in and out Albedo was as Nigredo was desperately trying to focus on trying to accurately fire but struggled to have a clear aim.
"If I can't have him, then no one else will." He let out an whisper in Nigredo's ear.
Suddenly Nigredo felt his chest curl in fear to what Albedo said, his vision start to blur and fade.
"N-no!" Nigredo yelled as he struggled to open his eyes before collapsing towards the ground.
Nigredo groaned in pain as his eyes focused on #623's body on the ground.
"I'- I cant- I won't leave him-" He weakly spoke before his body stopped responding, next thing he heard was the continuous beeping of some sort of montior.
Nigredo woke up to find himself in some sort of hospital with Albedo and Rubedo looking at the BPM screen.
"You!" Nigredo called out as Albedo pulled an scowl in confusion.
"Why the HELL are so damn angry at me Nigredo it's been going on for weeks?!" Albedo snapped as Rubedo looked at the two the sighed shaking his head.
"You- you keep saying that he murdered #623, but it says here that his status is alive." Rubedo pointed at the digital screen as Nigredo simply went aback in shock and looked at Albedo with a sigh.
The dream it felt so real, Nigredo was absolutely sure he wasn't making it up- or so he thought.
"Come on, let's go home and sleep. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." Rubedo and the two brothers walked back to the Residental Quarters to sleep.
Nigredo couldn't help but stare at Albedo with a glare, like Albedo was pretending to not know anything.
All he could do as simply play along, and somehow try and get Rubedo to realize that Albedo that somehow had changed.
