What does Dumbledore truly see?
Dumbledore truly answers Harry's question about what he sees in the mirror and the answer he got wasn't what he expected.

"What do you see when you look in the mirror?"
"Harry, that is a very interesting question.", Dumbledore's twinkling gases shifted from Harry to the mirror. " whenever I look into that mirror I see myself getting piledrived me to oblivion by 4 buffy black men. " He said calmly.
Harry didn't know what being piledrived me to oblivion meant but he knows he wasn't supposed to be hearing it but he was a curious boy and wanted to learn more about this.
So looking up at the old man he asked what he meant by that.
