Neji and the third eye

Every fan of Naruto knows about the structure of the Huyga clan and how it effected Neji Huyga. In this story, he will sacrifice his life to save Naruto and Hinata but he will not die because of a hidden power inside him, which was never discovered before. This story will start from his birth and will stretch on it's way. Neji will become very powerfull. It also contains Nejiten.

NEJI AND THE THIRD EYE

CHAPTER 1 – BIRTH TO TRUTH

The wind was blowing hard and calm at the same time. This branch member of the famous Huyga clan stared up the sky. Huyga Hizashi felt gleeful for it is the happiest day of his life. It's the day of his son's birth and he was informed some minutes before that his wife has given birth to a healthy baby boy. He was sent on an errand by the head of the clan 'Huyga Hiashi ' to a Huyga of the main branch who was on a mission. It took Hizashi three days to reach the man and three more days to head back to his village. The village hidden in the leaf is one of the five great nations and the Huyga clan is the most powerful clan of the village. On the third day of his return, when he was nearing his village he received a letter from a hawk. The exact moment the hawk landed, it started to snow. Unusually, the snow was very white and it looked beautiful. The letter was from his lovely wife –

Hizashi,

I know this will be very surprising for you as my delivery date of our child is after two months, but I gave birth to our son just an hour ago. I know you will ask 'How?'. Our son is two months premature, but you don't need to worry. He is perfectly healthy and I want u to come back as fast as you can. I am waiting….

Hayami

Hayami… That's his wife. His wife has a very unusual beauty just as her name if you pay enough attention to her features. At first glance, she looks like the other Huygas, but Hizashi has noticed that her eyes has some tint of lavender unlike him and other Huygas who have total white eyes. She is taller than other women and her face is pale like a Huyga and yet it is prettier. Her big but not too big eyes are full of love and compassion. Hayami doesn't have a wide open smile, but she holds a beautiful kind smile. Hizashi was covered in snow when he stepped in the village gate and that's when he noticed that the snow has pilled like almost two feets. When he saw the snow, he remembered her wife's skin tone which looks like the snow. He smiled at his thought and wondered what his son looks like and if his wife has named him yet or not. He hurried towards the branch side of the mansion, sweeping of the snow from his head and shoulders. The Huyga mansion is very huge with two floors, numerous bedrooms for single Huygas and a larger bedroom and a living room for couples. The main section of the clan covered three fourth of the place and the structure of the house is traditional with paper doors and wooden floor. It has many dojos and several training grounds. Even though it was snowing, it felt kind of warm. Maybe, it was because of his happiness that he is a father now.

He went straight to his bedroom and he was surprised to see his brother who is the head of the clan and some branch members and some branch maids. He remember that his wife was the head cook of the main branch before their marriage. At the Huyga clan, women are either maids, cooks, nannies or wifes. There are only several male servants and they are those who are not skilled enough to be a ninja. Huyga men are supposed to be a ninja and they recieve training lessons when they can walk and talk. The head of the clan is his twin brother. They have the same faces and are the strongest in their clan. The only difference is that, hizashi is placed in branch family because of him being born some seconds after his brother and his brother in the head family.

"Hizashi san, your wife is waiting." A timid looking maid said to him. He nodded and went in his room. He saw his wife laying on the futon with their son near her sleeping soundly. He was clothed in a navy blue kimono of a baby size which was a bit oversized and his face was cuddled in his mother's neck. Hizashi was determined to see his face clearly. The moment Hayami saw her husband, her eyes glinted with happiness and she beckoned him to come near her. The father of the baby gave his rare but genuine smile and kneeled near his wife. They smiled at each other. Hayami sat up which made Hizashi a bit worried as she had delivered a child several hours ago. Hayami told him not to worry and she is fine. She then took their son in her arms and handed him to Hizashi, but he doubted if he can do this. Hayami then showed that rare nature of her. "Oh, my brave husband doubts his ability, huh?" That made Hizashi chuckle and took their son in his arms very carefully. What he noticed was that this baby is really tiny. Hizashi said "No wonder our son's premature." " Yeah, but he is perfectly very healthy" His wife replied and their son yawned and opened his eyes. He blinked to see his fathers face and then stared at his father tilting his head. The baby suddenly gave a sweet baby laugh at his father, smiled and touched his father's face. Hayami was overwhelmed by the baby's cuteness "ooooooohhhhh!". Hizashi's smile widend and he chuckled. His eyes still glued on his baby, he said "Big eyes, fair skin, dark brown hair, round face and yet powerful features. You look just like your mother." Hayami then replied "Not only that, he will grow just as strong as his father" "Hayami, Did you named him?" "Not yet, I wanted to ask you. I was coming up with all girly names. He looks girly." "A baby's gender cannot be distinguished by their faces, they all look same." "Okay, but his hair is as long as a girl." Hizashi looked at their son and agreed. Their son was born with long silky hair at about shoulders length. Even though, the Huyga's have a tendency to keep long hair even if they are a man, babies are rarely born with long hair. But none of the two parents mined that. Long hair actually suited their baby as if it is his signature hairstyle. Hayami said "Dear, just think of a name now." "Hmm, I want my son to grow strong. I should think of a strong name. What about Neji? He will screw out all his enemies." "Huyga Neji, huh? I LIKE IT" they laughed together and neji laughed too to see his parents laugh with his cute baby voice. Hizashi stopped laughing and asked his wife what his brother is doing out there. "Oh, I was strolling outside when I met Hiashi sama. That's when my water broke and he called the maids" Hizashi knew that his brother is very strict but isn't a bad person. There was a sudden knock at the door. Hizashi handed Neji to his mother and opened the door. He saw Hiashi was the only one there, the maids were all gone. Hizashi bowed and made way to let his brother in, but Hiashi stayed at the door step of the room. He eyed Hizashi and said "Congratulations to both of you, I gues you have already named your son" That was not a question. He was ordering them to tell him their sons's name. Hizashi told himself not to mind and told him Neji's name. The Huyga head looked at the baby who was playing with his mother's hair and beckoned his parents to grow him strong. "Huyga Neji… A Huyga should be strong." He then left towards the main section of the mansion. They knew that a weak child can never be ninja and that's what Hiashi meant.

Time ran by and with time, both parents kept botteling the worry of the curse mark seal. The Huyga clan is split in two branches, the main family and the branch family. The elder child of the clan's head is made the heir to the clan. That is why Hiashi 'the first born' is made the clan's head and Hizashi is placed in the branch family. The members of the branch family is sealed with a jutsu of the clan called the curse seal of the caged bird by the head on their forehead, that is why every branch Huygas cover their forehead with a bandage or something else. Huyga Hizashi, Huyga Hayami and all other members of the branch family had recieved the seal and those kids who are still free will recieve it on the third birthday of the clan's heir. Hizashi and Hayami became more worried when 'Huyga Hinata' was born to the wife of the clan's head after a year of Neji's birth. The sole reason why they worried was because of the power of this Jutsu. This seal destroys the 'Byukugan' which is the kekegenkai of the Huyga clan to keep away the risk of letting the power be taken by the enemies. Not only that, the members of the main branch can activate the seal whenever they want. The activation brings huge pain to the person to whom it is used. It destroys the brain cells causing severe pain and one can die if the pain is too much. Some also gets migraine or seizures which lies in the blood but it happens rarely. Even some jutsus of the clan are taught only to the head of the clan and the heir, which many consider bias. Because of these many reasons, the branch family members become slaves to the main and have to bow and pay respect to the main. If they disrespect, they are punished with the seal. The Buykugan is the most powerful of the three kekegengais of the Ninja world. These eyes are the Buykugan, the Sharingan and the Rinnegan. There is no known history of these powerful eyes until now about where they came from. Where the Huygas have the Buykugan, the Sharingan is held by the Uchichas which is also a powerful clan of Konaha and the Rinnegan is the next version of the Sharingan with more levels in between. The Sharingan gets activated at traumatising moments where the Byukugan is held by the owner from birth. There is no known next version of the Buykugan. All these kekegenkais have enormous powers which also brings different jutsus. That is why these powerful clans are feared or envied by many. Some enimies and rogue ninjas also hunt for these kekegenkais to get stronger.

However, Hizashi and Hayami had to worry more because Neji is destined from birth to serve the main family and especially Hinata. It is because through blood relation, they are cousins to each other and being Hizashi's son it is Neji's duty to protect Hinata who is supposed to become the next Huyga head. The situation bcame unacceptable to the main family when Neji began to show signs of a genius. The Huyga clan had been waiting for such a child from centuries, but Neji's status made it difficult for the mains to accept it. All because he will never be able to become the heir. Neji was a very ammiable and cute baby, that's what every Huyga assumed. But when Neji spoke his first word, that was when Hizashi got the hint of his son being Unique.

Hizashi was sitting on a bench under a tree at the training ground outside his home gazing at the sky. It was when Neji came out from their home running towards his father. Neji was only a month old when he started to crawl and at the month of three he started to walk which was surprising to his parents and some people. It's been six months after Neji's birth, he can walk and run perfectly by now. Hizashi didn't notice his son coming at first but hoisted him up when Neji tugged at his father's robe. The serious Hyuga Hizashi who never smiles often smiles when he sees his son's radiant face. He smiled genuinely for the first time when he saw Hayami for the first time. They had an arranged marriage and married after a week of their meeting. That was when he thought that his father who is the retired head of the clan had done one and only good thing in his whole life and that is choosing wives for his sons. Even though, both the sons agreed to get married, their step mother Hyuga Mito was against it. Mito knew that they were getting married to beautiful women and she didn't like it because of her own features. She has a very scrawny face with, dark circles, few wrinkles and she often emits a dark aura. She has a long thin neck and glares at every person she sees. Hizashi knows that their father is like a tail to their step mother and that is why both Hiashi and Hizashi usually trained under other Hyugas when they were younger. It was because of their hardwork that they became strong. Mito didn't like his husband training his sons. Hizashi hated that woman. However, life became better since he got married and even better since Neji's birth. He rarely cries and the only times were when needed to get feeded or change his diaper, just as a newborn. Neji laughed when he was hoisted by his father and Hizashi kept on smiling. They sat on the bench enjoying the view. A little bird suddenly came and sat on Neji's head. It started to sing which amazed them both. Neji's usual smile widened, his cheeks turned a slight pink and he screamed. "DADDY, look, BIRD!" Hizashi felt very astonished that a half year kid is talking and really good according to his age. Hizashi sat up with astonishment putting his right hand on his son's shoulder and asked "What did u just say?" The sudden action made the bird fly to the tree near them and sat on a branch." "B-bird?" Hizashi gasped and took him to Hayami who was in their private kitchen cooking lunch. "Hayami… Neji just talked." Hayami was also shocked and asked "really?" Hizashi was just about to answer when Neji interjected "Yes, mommy." And smiled. Somehow, Neji knows that his parents are happy about him talking.

Time turned to run faster for Hizashi since Neji's birth, and Neji loves his father more than anything. He chooses to stay with his father than anything. He has no friends because of the clan being so strict.

At Neji's first birthday, Hizashi asked Neji about what he wants for the day. His reply shocked both of his parents that he wants his father to train him to become a Ninja. When asked the reason why he wants to become a ninja, he replied that he had heard his parents talking about them wanting Neji to become strong and ninjas are the strongest. Hizashi was glad for his son's maturity at a young age. He knew that Neji's destined to become a ninja and the fact that he wants to become a ninja instead of being forced into the career was a very good news for him. At first, Hizashi doubted if his son is ready to be trained. Neji's just a year old and Huyga kids usually start to train at the age of two, so he promised him that he'll start to train him a year later when he turns two. He just knows that his son can manage it. Neji then asked Hizashi if he can teach him to write that he aready knows how to read. He can read and write like a six year kid already. "Oh father, I actually meant calligraphy." Hizashi grinned and agreed. Neji was maturing so fast, both physically and mentally. The tiny body of his matured so fast and catch up to his age. His shoulder length hair has grown till half back and Hizashi tied it at the bottom just as he does to his own long hair. He is a smart kid and by now the news of the Hyuga prodigy has started to spread. Neji's talent and his genius mind was discovered by the Hyuga clan at first. Gradually, people started to call him a prodigy and some main family members including Hiyashi and the elders were disappointed that Neji's a branch member. Every talks about Neji's intelligence was aware by Neji himself too, but also being the innocent kid he is, what he ever wanted was to be with his parents whom he loves. He now calls Hizashi father instead of daddy and mother to Hayami instead of mommy.

Hayami told Hizashi that she is not able to go accordingly with her son because of her son not being playful like other kids and instead acting more mature. She said she wanted a kid who acts more like a kid, but she still tries to love him as much as she can. Both parents didn't let Neji know about his mother's opinion about him because of him being very young. All these sayings from Hayami started when Neji started to touch books and weapons if he sees one over toys. That also let to quarrels between the parents, but Hizashi always ignored her because of not wanting Neji to see such scenes. He wanted Neji to be happy and free which is not possible in their clan. Neji's second birthday arrived and Hizashi was meditating himself in his private dojo which is placed at the left side of their private living room at four in the morning. The last section of the branch Hyuga mansion belongs to Hizashi, his wife and son. It consist of a living room, a small kitchen, two bedrooms, a guestroom, a tiny storeroom, a training ground outside the dojo and a small library where Hizashi lets only Neji and Hayami come. Neji likes to ask for books from his father and read it, so he usually stays in his room reading a book most of the time. He likes to feed grains to birds too and the birds love Neji's calm nature. They have some magnetic pull towards Neji. Hyuga kids are usually not allowed to go out the mansion without someone elder with them until they start to attend the academy. Kids who want to become a ninja attend the academy from the age of five for six years. Those of the branch kids are not allowed to leave the mansion until when they are marked with the curse seal. Hizashi had decided he will take Neji for the festival which will take place three months later as usual. That will be Neji's first time leaving the mansion. After meditating for two hours, he went towards the living room. The moment he slided open the paper door to the living room, Neji came running from upstairs and hugged him with his usual smile. "Father, when will you start training me?" Hizashi giggled and said "Neji, my son… It's six am now. We should have our breakfast first. Then we will start and yeah, happy birthday." "Thank you father." The excitement in Neji's eyes was spotted easily and it seemed he had been waiting for his father to finish meditating. Hizashi and Hayami usually wakes up at 3:30. Hizashi meditates from 4 to 6 and Hayami does her usual home chores. Neji started to wake up as early as he can which is at five some months ago.

To start Neji's first morning training, Hizashi took him in their Dojo. It is the custom of the Ninja world to sit in seiza form. They sat themselves in front of each other and Hizashi placed a box of needles in between. Hizashi begin "Neji, first of all to become a ninja I will tell you about the structure of becoming a ninja…. Hmm, you look confident it seems you already know something. Can you tell your father what you know." Neji nodded and smiled. "To become a ninja, one has to attend the academy for six years and after graduation, they become Genins which is the lowest rank and the first step and that is when they are put in a cell of three consisting of a sensei. Then there comes Chunin… I think it can be achieved after an exam i read about in a book. The next rank is of a Jonin and some of them are also senseis in the three man squad. Kage is the highest rank and they are also the leader of a village. Um, what are the different kages? Father." "Our world is distributed in numerous villages and there are five of them which are considered the strongest of all and the leaders of those villages are called with the title of 'kage' which is a respected name. They are called the five kages. Hokage of our hidden leaf village which is all known as the fire country, Kazekage of the hidden sand, Raikage of the hidden cloud, Mizukage of the hidden mist and Tsuchikage of the hidden rock." Hizashi replied. "Why are they all called hidden?"Neji asked. He got the reply. "These five hidden villages have their own specialties which makes them different from the rest of the villages. Our village is the source of the three kekeigenkais and also of many powerful and great clans. Where some clans had been destroyed, some still exist and some are scattered. It's different for every villages." Hizashi continued "I assume you know enough of about villages and the ninja rankings. As a member of the Hyuga clan, you should know about our clan too. Now tell me what you know about our clan." Neji nodded "Father, of what I know our clan is the strongest in Konaha because of strong jutsus, Byukugan and the speciality in a type of taijutsu. It's the gentle fist, I guess. The Byukugan have many abilities like seeing through things, right?"

Hizashi felt proud of Neji that he already knows this much. He got to know about these things when he stepped in the academy when he was younger and the Byukugan was noticed by him at the age of five. His son is a true genius. He then said "Now Neji, we will start with teaching you the basics of fighting as you have enough knowledge. There are three types of jutsus, Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Genjutsu." Hizashi then went on about the three kekeigankais and their abilities. He then stood up and Neji imitated. It's considered good manner to respect the elders and standing up too when an elder stands up is a good manner. Taking a scroll from the small drawer of a tiny table nearby, Hizashi sat back in front of Neji. Neji sat back too. He then opened the scroll at an arm's length showing it in Neji's Direction. He then began, pointing at an art of the Byukugan in the centre of the scroll "The Byukugan is really strong, but achieving its highest potential is not easy where the Sharingan and Rinnegan is easier even though it's not easy. So you can gues how strong the Byukugan can get. The main powers of the Byukugan is listed here. Read it out loud, Neji". Neji nodded and read the points listed in the scroll "Point one: Seeing through objects. It can see through any object and beyond it which is the first ability practiced by a first time learner. Point two: Next ability of the white eye is to see the chakra system of anybody or anywhere. When this ability is mastered, the wielder can see chakra system and chakra points at his or her own length. Point three: It can also sense Genjutsu after a long time of training and achieving the main two abilities listed above. Point four: Even though, very rare Hyugas have achieved this ability to sense the nature of once chakra, many tried and many failed. Point five: The last ability is mythical and was never laid in true history. It says some of the Byukugans can read minds, control it or even fail the opponent's jutsu with fierce force of vibration." Neji looked at his father asking if the last point was true or not. Hizashi said "Hmm. Son, the fifth point you read had always been considered mythical….. Perhaps, it had existed but got vanished with time. Now listen, we Hyugas are taught to activate our Byukugan at the age of five. The reason I told you about the abilities is because you need to focus on things I will tell you when we start our taijutsu training. Shall we get started with practical training now. " Um, I have a question father?" "Yes… what is it?" "Which of the abilities can you use father?" "Oh, I can see through objects, chakra system and sense Genjutsu". Neji smiled and looked satisfied. Hizashi then took a needle from the box he had put in between them before. He placed the needle on his forefinger and it stood there as if stick to his finger. "Wow" Neji looked surprised. "Son, what you are seeing now is because I'm emitting chakra from my finger to stick the needle to my finger. Same as this, the art of the Gentle fist is the most powerful type of taijutsu. It is the only taijutsu where chakra plays a significant role during fighting. Unlike other ninjas, a Hyuga can emit chakra from any body part one wants. It only needs practice and focus of a long term. The gentle fist has been in the Hyuga clan from centuries, but not many masters it and I think I know enough to pass to you." There morning session went on until one pm when Hayami called them for lunch. Neji wanted to learn activating the Byukugan but Hizashi told him that it's not the right time and he should try it when he turns five. Hizashi already began Neji's training a year before because of Neji's determination, but can't risk him activating the Byukugan at such a young age. He's only two years old even though he acts older. Neji started to learn basic Taijutsu. He was told that basic taijutsu will be needed to learn Gentle fist. Normal Hyuga's learn enough Gentle fist at the age of ten at the youngest. The length once white eye can see is also important but not much during combat. Any chakra made substance has got no chance against a Gentle fist master.The scroll Hizashi brought was the main information one should have about the Byukugan. Every Hyuga owns one and Hizashi gave Neji one. That night, Neji slept deeper than usual because of tiredness. It was not his father who pushed him. Neji kept on insisting to keep on the training and Hizashi had to worry if Neji is putting way too much effort. It wasn't good for his physics, he thought.

It's been a month since the first training session and by now, Neji meditates with his father too each morning. He can now emit chakra from his hands and legs but is still trying to master. They train until lunch and Hayami sometimes come to view them. Neji learns and grabs any concept quickly and it surprises his parents sometime. Hayami complains to Hizashi about Neji not playing like a kid and acting way too mature for his age sometimes. Those complains were always without Neji's presence that Hizashi doesn't want his son to lose confidence or to take a wrong meaning, being also innocent with his swift mind. One evening, Hizashi was sitting in his private library, doing the works he had to do. Being the brother of the clan head, he was in charge of all the branch family paper works. While he sat in silence in his library, Hayami went to buy some groceries and Neji was feeding the birds at the sill of his room's window. He sometimes let the birds fly in his room and the birds gladly come in. He saw one other birds flying high up in the sky. It was a cloudy day and it seemed the rain can fall anytime. That bird vanished into the sky out of Neji's vision after a while and he wondered where the bird is making his flight to. He opended the door to his balcony and decided to try activating his Byukugan. That might make his father happy. Some days before at midnight, when he was heading towards the kitchen to grab a glass of water, he witnessed his parents quarrelling. Neji's parent's bedroom and his bedroom are in bay to each other. The small libraby and the guest room nearby and there kitchen and living room downstairs with the storeroom. When Neji stepped out his room, he heard the quarrelling which gave chills to his spine. It was not loud, but he had never heard or seen anyone so angry. His mother sounded so angry, where his father was trying to tell her to stop. He was not able to make out what were they quarrelling about nor did he give it a thought. Just the fact that they were quarrelling and his mother sounding so irritated made his eyes fill with tears. Neji tried not to let the tears fell down. He forgot about going to grab water and tried going back to bed, but his feet were not moving for some reason. Maybe fear? He wondered. The door suddenly fell open and came his father with a disgusted look which suddenly turned sympathetic. The sudden opening of the door traumatized Neji and he fell on the wooden floor. The tears fell down at last. "Neji?" Hizashi whispered. He hoisted Neji in his arms and told him not to be scared. Neji buried his face in his chest and cried silently, but his body shaked. Hayami came and her hands were on her mouth. Anyone could have guessed she was feeling ashamed and they both knew what went through Neji's mind. They took him in their room and tried to comfort him. Neji said nothing and cried, but felt asleep eventually. His parents had never seen him cry, this seemed like the first time. Since then, they never quarreled and Hayami never complained over Neji's character. Now Neji thought his father is a bit stressed and he wanted to please his father. He tried to activate his Byukugan, sending chakra to his eyes. Trails went over trails and trails, but he was not able to do it. He assumed it was that he is too young, but he did not gave up and tried. After many tries for half an hour, veins suddenly popped at the side of his eyes and he knew that he's done it. He felt proud and left to show it to his father, but there was something wrong. His surrounding was turning blurry and he was not able to make out his way. Felling dizzy and yet he managed towards his father. One time, he read in the scroll his father gave him that the Byukugan takes time to clear vision after activation when it's getting trained. Neji knocked on the paper door to the library. He heard something, opened the door and everything went black. "Hm… father." When Neji opened his eyes, he saw his father's blurry face. His father said something but couldn't make out what. Assuming that his father is asking how he's feeling, "dizzy" he repled. There was silence for a long time then Hizashi was letting Neji rest. Neji was lying on his futon in his room when his vision cleared and he managed to make out his surroundings. Hearing his father asking "Why did you tried to activate your Byukugan?" he suddenly remembered what happened and explained to his father what his motive was. "Oh son, you shouldn't have." Hizashi was worried and stunned at the same time. Hizashi was working in his library when he heard a slight knock on the paper door. "Is it you, Neji?" the door upend slowly and he saw Neji with his eyes activated. Naturally, his eyes widened abd before Neji fell down, he cached him. He was sure the actication of his caused him to faint. He lied Neji on his futon in his room and went to call a docter. He opened the gate of the branch section, when he met Hyuga Hiyashi and his parents. Hiashi was in front and his parents at both his sides. To Hizashi, they had come at the worse timing. 'Wait, why are they here? If any of them wanted to see a branch member, they would simply send a messenger.' he thought. He proceeded to ask but was interjected by his stepmother. "Are not going to bow?" she sounded like a witch. Hizashi bowed and said "Pardon me, but I have to leave. It's an emergency." Mito interjected once more. "I was out for my evening strolls when I met your brother and my husband. We had a talk and we are now here to see your son. You should be honored that three main members came to see your son." "Neji? But why?" "Your son is being called the Hyuga Prodigy. We wanted to see some of your son's skills. We were just near the branch section, that is why we came instead of calling and of what I know, Neji still hasn't seen the world outside the compound." It was the Hyuga head who replied. He continued "You look worried, what is it?" "Hiashi sama, Neji is unconscious. I need to call a docter" Hizashi wanted to avoid telling them about Neji activating the Byukugan, so he just told them that his son's unconscious and he didn't want to risk his curse seal being activated. His father said that he should leave then but the witch interjected. "Wait, first tell me why the prodigy is unconcios? There should be a reason." Mito asked in an irritating manner. Hizashi was already worried and he didn't wanted to waste his time, so he told them that Neji activated his Byukugan. They were stunned.
