imagine if Elliot found out about Liv getting kidnapped by William Lewis while living in Italy with Kathy and his kids.. Liv has Noah and he's 5

Kathy had already seen the news and she was wondering if she should tell him or not

Kathy: Elliot come here for a minute,we need to talk..

Elliot: about what?

Kathy: Olivia

Elliot: I really don't want to talk about her.. I've told you that

Kathy: She got hurt..

Elliot: what do you mean she got hurt?

he is looking worried now*

Kathy: She got kidnapped and tortured..

Elliot: What! You're lying

Kathy: I'm not... I already bought you a plane ticket to New York so you can go see her..

Elliot: Kathy.. I don't think she would want to see me.. I did leave without telling her

Kathy: trust me, she'll want to see you..

Elliot: thank you.. I won't stay in New York for long.. just to know she's okay

Kathy: we're okay Elliot.. go see Liv

Elliot flys to New york and after he lands he calls Liv but she doesn't answer*

Elliot: hey Liv, I'm here in New York and I want to see you if you are okay with that..

Elliot calls a cab and goes to the special victims unit*

Fin: Elliot? you're back.. I didn't think you would be back

Elliot: I heard what happened to Liv and I need to go see her, does she still live where she did when we were partners?

Fin nodded and Elliot thanks him and goes to Liv's apartment...he feels like his heart is about to jump out of his chest and like he's going to pass out but he needs to see her. he needs her*

he knocks on her door not once but 3 times like he did when he would show up when they were partners, it feels like that time is so far away.. he thinks she doesn't want to see him and he's right if this was any other situation

Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

Liv: Amanda, is that you? she's creeping up on her door with her gun strapped to her side..Fin? she opens the door with her hand on her gun

Elliot: Liv, it's me

she looks at him in pure shock, she's still pretty nervous

Liv: Elliot, what are you doing here? Where have you been? Here come inside.. he comes in and she shuts the door.

Elliot: I've been in Italy, I heard what happened.. Liv i came back for you

Liv: you leave for 4 years and you didn't tell me... but i get kidnapped and you race here

Elliot: I left because I needed to and I've regretted not telling you everyday since I left..Liv, yell at me or hit me.. I know you're pissed at me so take your anger out on me please..

Liv: I've got more shit to deal with..I'm still pissed at you.

Elliot: I missed you Liv, I'm so sorry I wasn't here to protect you.. I feel guilty

Liv: I missed you too, how are Kathy and the kids?

Elliot: they're all good... Liv, do you want to talk about it?

Liv: talk about what? the fact i got kidnapped and tortured but I fought my way out.. I'm fine Elliot

Elliot: Liv, I'm here for you if you need me, so please talk to me.. I know you're strong but it's okay to be weak.. it's okay to ask for help..

Liv: do you remember that little police badge with your number on it that you gave me?

Elliot: I totally forgot about that, I was expecting you to throw it away

Liv: I was going to but I kept it.. so I always had a reminder of you.. when I was being held hostage by Lewis, I had my gun and that badge was at the bottom of my gun..the thought of maybe being able to see you again gave me strength

Liv starts tearing up, she's trying to hide it from Elliot but he already seen..

Elliot: Liv, you're the strongest women I have ever met.. and you should've of never gone through that.. I'm so sorry I wasn't here.. goddammit I should've of been here to protect you..

Liv: there was nothing you could do Elliot, you being here right now is enough for me.. Elliot, I'm okay

Elliot: But what if you weren't? I should've been here.

Liv: Elliot, I'm okay and I made it through..

Elliot: is there anything I can do to make it feel safer?

Liv: El, just with you here i already feel safer..

Elliot softly laughs

Liv: why are you laughing?

Elliot: you called me El, I haven't heard that name in years, I forgot how much I loved hearing that..

they both softly laugh and they look at each other with so much love.. even though it's been years they still look at each other the same way..

Liv: how did you find out about Lewis?

Elliot: Kathy told me and by the time she told me, she bought me a plane ticket for New York..

Liv: I'm not sure if I should be telling you but Kathy called me after she found out to check on me.. she asked if you and I had talked since you left, I told her no.. that wasn't the first time she called me.. it was after you guys left, she asked if I was okay and I told her I was when I wasn't because I didn't want you to worry about me because you left for a reason and I don't know the reason but I didn't want you to worry about me...

Elliot: she never told me that, either time.. I should've called you Liv, but you're right I did leave for a reason.. I always worried about you especially when I left.. I didn't want to but I needed to..

Liv: what was the reason? You don't gotta tell me but all I want to know is was I the reason?

Elliot: Yeah you were... but it's not because of you it was because of me too.. I left because i was scared..

Liv: scared of what?

Elliot: i don't want to talk about it honestly..

Liv: Elliot Stabler doesn't want to talk about his feelings, what a shocker

They both laughed

Elliot: I missed this

Liv: what did you miss..

Elliot: You, Liv I missed you and your take no bullshit additude

He looks into her eyes and he sees pain in her eyes and he wants to help her but she won't want help..

Elliot: it's getting late, you want dinner?

Liv: can we order in, I'm not ready to go out yet..

Elliot: is Chinese food okay?

Liv: yes, it's like the old days except we aren't partners

Elliot: are you talking about when we would have a break at work I would order food and we would share it but usually got interrupted by the case..

Liv: feels like it was yesterday.. did you get a hotel?

Elliot: yeah I did but I haven't booked it yet so I might not *nervous laughter*

Liv: I've got a guest room Elliot, you can stay in it as long as your here.. it doesn't bother me..

Elliot: thank you Liv...

Liv: Did you miss New York?

Elliot: not really, I just missed one person and nothing else..

doorbell rings

Elliot: Food is here

Liv: I haven't eaten anything all day.

Elliot: why not?

Liv: I've been depressed and I haven't had an appetite lately..

Elliot: but you do when I come..

Liv: I feel safe with you El, I always have

they talk about stuff

Liv: I gotta go get Noah. You want to come with me?

Elliot: Liv he doesn't know who I am

Liv: I'll go get him then when we get home ill introduce you to him.. he kinda knows about you.. he's a smart kid

Liv goes and gets Noah then they get home

Elliot hears her get home and goes and sits on her couch nervous to meet Noah..

Liv: Are you ready Elliot?

Elliot: Yes!

Noah walks in and looks Elliot up and down and he walks up to Elliot and shakes his hand

Noah: I'm Noah Benson

Elliot: I'm Elliot Stabler, nice to meet you Noah..

Noah: My mom has told me a lot about you Elliot.. she told me that you were partners for a lot of years..

Liv walks away for a moment. Noah sits on the couch next to Elliot

Noah: don't tell my mom I told you but I heard my mom talking to Aunt Amanda about how you told my mom that you loved her

Elliot is shocked and nervous.. he doesn't know what to say

Elliot: uhhhh

Noah: my mom has also told me that you were best friends

Elliot: I think we still are

Noah: Uncle Fin said that you left my mom and she was really said but she hid it from everybody

Elliot: I did leave and I made a huge mistake by leaving...

Noah: Do you love my mom?

Liv is in her bedroom and Elliot hopes that she can't hear him

Elliot: I do love your mom, I have since I met her..

Liv heard that but she pretends she doesn't.. She comes back in the room and says its bedtime

Noah: Elliot, are you staying the night?

Liv glances at him and nods signaling its okay to tell him

Elliot: I am going to spend the night, is that alright Noah?

Noah: Yes! you should spend the night every night

Elliot and Liv laugh and they look into each other's eyes

Liv: alright Noah time for bed tell-

Noah: Goodnight Elliot

Elliot: goodnight Noah, sleep well

Noah goes and gets into bed so know its just the two of them

Liv: Noah likes you.. I've only told him some things..

Elliot: he does.. he's a sweet kid and he's got the best mom..

Liv: I'm grateful to have him.. he saved my life

Elliot: you're amazing Liv, you've been through so much..

Liv blushes and she yawns

Liv: I think its time for bed

Elliot: yeah I think so too.. thanks for letting stay.. I really didn't want to stay at a hotel..

Liv: goodnight Elliot

3:00am

Elliot was woken up by crying, it's Liv.. he is thinking about if he should go comfort her or not.. it hurts him to hear her having a nightmare.. Shes screaming out "Lewis stop" and " help me please" along with crying.. Now Elliot is going to help her

Elliot walks to her room which isn't far from Noah's room.. he checks in on Noah and he's sleeping so his focus is on Liv

Elliot: Hey Liv, wake up, please wake up

he touches her side and she wakes up in a panic.. shes wondering who just woke her up.. not being all the way awake, she hits him on accident, he backs up in case she doesn't want comfort..

Liv: Elliot? what's going on

Elliot: you were having a nightmare.. im sorry if i intruded..

Liv: Thank you.. it was a horrible nightmare.. is Noah awake?

Elliot: I'm not sure if he is now but i did check on him

Noah walks in..

Noah: Mom are you okay? i heard you crying

Liv runs out of the room, but Elliot stays

Noah: is my mom okay?

Elliot: she's okay. she just had a bad dream

Noah: she has bad dreams sometimes.. if she has one, i go lay with her in her bed

Elliot: are you okay Noah? Are you going to be able to fall asleep again.. you've got school in the morning

Noah: if i wake up my mom usually reads me a bedtime story but she seems upset

Elliot: what about if i read you a bedtime story? would that be okay?

Noah: yes, can you read me goodnight moon

Elliot: yes, go get into bed and I'm going to check on your mom first..

Noah goes and gets into bed and Elliot is trying to find Liv... she's on the couch.

her face is stained with tears and she's still hyperventilating but calming down..

Elliot: Liv, are you okay?

Liv: El, please leave me alone

Elliot leaves her alone but first he puts a blanket around her and goes into Noah's room.. Noah is in bed holding Goodnight Moon..

Noah: is my mom okay?

Elliot: she will be, lay down and get comfortable..

Elliot starts reading Goodnight Moon

As Elliot is reading, Liv hears him reading from the living room and she sneaks down the hallway and she peaks into his room she sees Elliot reading to Noah and she smiles and realizes this is everything she could ever want..
