Ep. 3 First Times
It was a Sunday afternoon,Sunil was hanging out with Russell and Vinnie in his room playing a boardgame. "Bingo! Take my chips for cash Russ" Vinnie told Russell. "Vinnie you can't gamble in Monopoly to get money. That's not even part of the game, where did you get those?" He asked. Vinnie always tried to break rules or add ridiculous things to games every time they played. "Cmon Russell this game is going on and on, i gotta get some cash my dude im out man" Vinnie said. Sunil was on his bed looking at his phone wondering and trying to find a girl to talk to that he might like. Scrolling and scrolling down a list on a social media everyone uses "Sunil what are you doing" Russell asked. "Nothing much….okay i'm looking for someone on this" They wondered who Sunil was looking for and why they asked "Well who you lookin for bro" said Vinnie. Sunil turned to them "Okay fine, but you don't tell anyone okay. I'm trying to find my crush is a way to put it I guess. And there're so many girls at our school but I really narrowed down and I think Penny Ling is really cute". Russell and Vinnie were surprised that it came from Sunil. Penny was a popular girl and she hasn't been with many guys because most end the relationship. "Jezz man, Penny Ling, sure she's popular and cute but she's like the class clown is they did insult comedy but hey we never know it could be good" Russell told Sunil. "Well I always admired that tough attitude of hers. It made her seem strong to others and well she's cute….either way i'm gonna try guys".
As the night grew Russell and Vinnie wished Sunil the best of luck and soon left to go home. They just decided to walk home. It was a nice night and it was just better. "So, you think she will go out with him Vinnie. I mean someone like her she probably has a high standard for guys like us we are no match" said Russell. Sunil never showed much of a crush for Penny except that one time he had a dream about her but it was one and only. "Yeah dude, Penny bruh she is like there you know i know" Vinnie said as Russel never understood his way with words. As they walked away, Sunil went back to his room to message Penny and see what happens to him. As he was Fred came to him "So...Penny Ling...huh not even I knew your thoughts about it Sunil. You think she's cute and strong and she's worth it i get it but just remember she's a hot head sometimes and you better hope she doesn't kick your ass". Sunil understood that all relationships could be risky but it was worth that risk to have a beautiful thing and as he thought that he sent his first message "Hey Penny it's me Sunil". Every second was like a bomb ticking to him as he just looked at his phone and after a few minutes he got a reply "Hello Sunil...hows u" He was a bit relieved he got a reply so fast so he sent back "Im okay Penny...i've just been thinking about something". "Oh what's that?" She replied and Sunil typed those last letters like he was defusing a bomb "Well...you know I just been thinking about you and I kinda like you...I just wanted to tell you". Sunil was sweating a bit and Fred watched behind him in silence and she replied "Ohh...really Sunil wow that's shocking from you knowing you never cared much for girls but you know you're sweet and a calm nice guy I like that about you". He was kind of overjoyed by what she said to him. He asked "You really think that about me...thank you Penny". "Yes...I do your a cutie. Are you asking me out? " Sunil replied "Yeah I kinda am and if you say no it's okay". Penny replied "You're so sweet already to me. Yes i would like to date you Sunny". Sunil smiled at his phone after those word from her "I'm so happy rn Penny but it's kinda late so you and I need sleep . I will see you tomorrow ok goodnight Penny". She gave him one more message "okie Sunny g'night".
After the chat Sunil laid in his bed so relieved after she said yes to him and just wanted tomorrow to start. "Ey! See that wasn't that hard Kiddo once you get into it it's mostly a smooth ride as it goes am i right?" Fred told Sunil. Sunil was feeling good about the future for once he actually felt that way after so long. "Yeah, it's really something for the first time texting the girl you like Fred. She said I was cute and that I was a great guy" Fred saw it a million times with all different pets but it's always good to see that first time "So, are you still staying or are you going to leave now?" Sunil asked. Fred replied "Not yet, i'm going to stay around with you for a bit Sunil don't worry too much about it though you will know when i'm done". Sunil knew Fred's job was to help him with love and he felt glad he had him beside him for it. "But besides all this don't forget you need sleep Penny gonna need you at your best buddy so get to bed". Sunil turned and ended the night feeling better than ever.
The next morning Sunil jumped out of bed ready for the big day. He spent more time getting ready to look his best. Luckily he washed his lucky red jacket he always wore but now it was new looking. He just couldn't wait to get to school and he left early to get there as soon as possible. He arrived at his school and waited for Penny to get off one of the buses. As the rows of pets emptied the buses one by one he didn't see Penny anywhere. After seeing that last bus leave he left to find her. As soon as he walked through the front door to the cafeteria he seen her with her friends and she had been there all morning Sunil felt dumb. He walked up to her and as soon as she saw him she stood up "Hey...Penny how are you". Sunil was nervous as ever all he could wish is that she goes along with it and understand it's his first time. "Im okay Sunil...I hope you didn't forget what we said to each other last night". Penny looked as excited as he was "No, I didn't Penny I couldn't stop thinking about it. So you really wanted to be together?" Sunil asked. Penny looked up to him "Yes Sunil I really want to be with you" she held his hand and smiled. She took him to an empty table to eat breakfast with him. Sunil ate slowly but Penny just loved food and couldn't get enough but Sunil found that cute. She looked at him with crumbs over her face. He smiled and wiped it away with a napkin as she laughed. After they ate and had their fun Penny asked "So Sunil what are you thinking about?" She asked. " I'm just thinking about all of this and you wanted to be with me. That's something I thought could never happen but it did". She put his arm around his neck and asked him "Why would I say no to you Cutie. Hey do you think after school we could hang out or maybe go out?". "Umm...sure I'm not doing anything today but yeah we can". The bell rang and Penny didn't want to leave Sunil so he walked her to her class. Everyone was seeing those two holding hands and some couldn't believe it. They walked past Russell and Vinnie and their jaws dropped "Bruh, that's Sunil...and Penny jeez he really did it" said Vinnie. They both wished him luck but didn't expect to see that the next day. "Yeah...wow you go Sunil. That was unexpected to see" Russell said and Vinnie agreed. They arrived at Penny's first period class. Penny finally let go and waved goodbye to Sunil. "See ya Sunil ttyl…" Penny said as Sunil watched her go and left for his class after such a wonderful morning for him and he just couldn't wait to see her again after school to go on their first date. The first few classes were slow and so empty with life everyone was just acting dead. Sunil finally got to his music class with Russell and he was so ready to have someone to talk to. The teacher assignment where they have to write a few paragraphs about the impacts of music throughout the mid 1900s. Sunil and Russell just decided to chat while working on this assignment. "So we saw you walking with Penny Ling this morning. It was an unexpected sight not saying I doubted it happening Sunil". Sunil thought to himself was everything going to fast or is this how it goes "You know, it seems fast I only showed a crush to her once with a dream but now that i see her and i've talked to her and held her hand Russell, it's love at first sight" Sunil said. Russell agreed with him it only happens when you try and Sunil did and now things are going well for him. "Man this damn paper who the hell knows about the 1950s like this was 60 or 70 years ago at this point?" Sunil asked. "I'll tell you you know Zoe's friend Pepper Clark, she would have a field day with this paper. I swear she could write a 10,000 word book about this 50s and 60s shit Sunil, she loves it so much it's like part of her life, have you ever wondered why?" Russell asked Sunil. "No, I haven't Russell. It's strange I mean what's so great about that time period I don't know. Maybe she's like that is because she might have been raised that way you know. Either way it doesn't make her as normal as other girls around here but i'm sure they make her understand that". Russell really didn't understand why Sunil had to put it that way, Pepper was harmless and isn't like most girls but there's no reason to say she isn't normal. It was probably the fact that Penny has a huge history teasing and making fun of her around others so Sunil was just supporting his new girlfriend no matter how rude it was. The period ended and so did school a few hours later and Sunil was heading straight home to prepare for his first date with Penny.
