Chapter One: Meeting for the First Time

In the heart of Magix, there is an organization that takes in fairies that had been through traumatic experiences. This organization provided them with all the medical support and care they needed to regain structure and return to their normal lives. Timothy Windez, who preferred to be called Timmy, was their newest employee. He was hired to be one of those that took on special cases, fairies whose experiences were so damaging that it changed their lives forever. The organization hired Timmy for his enthusiasm for technology; there was one difficult case they found he might just be the person to help with. Mrs. Faragonda was the head of the organization and kept track of all the fairies that came through the doors. She knew every detail of their experiences and where they previously hailed from, as well as their specific gifts and powers. The elderly woman walked Timmy down a hallway, where each fairy had an individual suite.

"I'm so glad to have you on our team, Timothy." Faragonda began as they neared their destination.

"Please, call me Timmy." He insisted as they continued walking side by side.

"All right. Now, we have had a special case for a few months now. When we first got her in, she could barely stay awake. She was so weak and frightened, even now, we have to supervisor her while she eats or else she won't do it. She is still very skittish, and she won't let just anybody close to her. She even runs away from me."

"So, what do you want me to do? I don't have a knack for talking to girls." Timmy inquired nervously.

"But you do have a knack for technology, and this isn't just any fairy. She hails from Zenith." That told Timmy everything he needed to know. Zenith was the most advanced realm in the entire Magical Dimension and everything about it fascinated him. He had done hours of extensive research of the technology the realm invented and exported, as well as the people who resided there. No wonder Timmy got this job so easily. Finally, they reached the room of the fairy in question.

"We must move cautiously and quietly so we don't startle her." Faragonda whispered, "Although, most of the time, it doesn't help." The two came across a sliding glass door, and on the other side sat a fairy sitting in the corner of the room, transformed. Holographic screens generated by her magic surrounded her as she shifted them around with her dainty fingers. This was one of the things that kept her calm and comfortable, research and the energy from her power source. She was at peace in solitude, away from everybody. Timmy watched the fairy work from a distance. He stared at her exquisite fairy form, her hair lengthened to below her neck, and she donned a purple two piece with a yellow breast plate and darker purple accents around her waist. Her wings were big and yet suited her fragile figure so gracefully. Mrs. Faragonda silently opened the sliding glass door and walked closer to the fairy with slow and cautious movements.

"Tecna." She began in a whisper, only for the fairy to snap her head to attention. The screens around her vanished instantly and she miniaturized, trying desperately to find a hiding spot. Unfortunately, she wasn't successful, and continued to fly frantically around the room.

"Oh my, not again." Mrs. Faragonda sighed, and all Timmy could do was watch the fairy's reaction to just a simple whisper. She must have been through something so traumatic that the fears it caused had not yet subsided. How long had it been? The elderly woman snapped her fingers, and a throw pillow appeared in midair, catching the technology fairy from flight and gently landing on a table. The fairy buried her miniature form in its comfort, sinking into the pillow's softness. She was now trembling uncontrollably and sobbing fearfully.

"It's okay, Tecna, you're okay. Calm down." Mrs. Faragonda reassured her, "Take a few deep breaths." Timmy continued to watch as the elderly woman tried to bring the fairy out of her panicked state. He was able to hear the name of this mesmerizing, and yet terrified, goddess.

"Tecna." He breathed, wondering rather or not to come closer or to stay where he was so he wouldn't scare her into another panic attack. It took a few minutes before Tecna stopped shaking and was able to look at Mrs. Faragonda as her tears were still subsiding.

"You poor, poor dear, you really have been through a terrible ordeal, haven't you?" Mrs. Faragonda thought in a whisper, shaking her head before looking up toward Timmy, "This is exactly what I meant when I told you she was still very skittish. Tecna has been deeply traumatized and she's been this way for two months." Timmy inched closer, careful not to make any sudden movements. However, Tecna still felt the urge to run again.

"It's okay; I'm not going to hurt you." Those were the words that would change the young fairy's life forever.

"Tecna, this is Timmy, he'll be working with you from now on." Mrs. Faragonda introduced him as he slowly reached out his hand to place it beside her on the table, "Now, do you want to de-transform for us." She did as she was told, running off the edge of the table and returning back to normal size. Then when her feet hit the ground, she reverted back to a civilian form. Her wings disappeared and her outfit changed to a sleeveless vest, a skirt with leggings and knee-high boots. Once she was sure she wasn't in any danger, she sat on the couch with Mrs. Faragonda and Timmy.

"Can you speak?" Timmy asked her quietly.

"She only talks to those she can trust completely, it's a rarity to hear her speak." Mrs. Faragonda informed him sadly.

"All right, what should I know about Tecna?" Timmy inquired. It felt disrespectful for him to ask about her when she was sitting right in front of him, but she wasn't going to answer for herself.

"Well, you'll be making sure she eats enough, see if you can find out more about her and get her to open up to you. She does have frequent nightmares, so be prepared for that." Mrs. Faragonda explained, "and be ready to coax her out of a lot of strange hiding places. She's been known to jump right into her computer if she must." Something about that admission made Tecna blush slightly. Now this complete stranger knew her best hiding spot, but getting her to come out would be another thing altogether.

"How is that even possible?" Timmy queried, awestruck by the notion that a fairy could hide within any electronic device. Of course, Tecna was a fairy of technology, but he had no idea of the scope of her magic abilities.

"It appears that Tecna can transform into a form of pure technological energy and become somewhat of a computer program." Mrs. Faragonda explained, "Of course it takes a lot of her energy. She can't do it for long and she gets exhausted afterwards. Since I've mentioned it, these little scares also take a lot out of you, don't they Tecna?" The technology fairy nodded slightly in response. Mrs. Faragonda led Tecna and Timmy to Tecna's bedroom. Over on the far wall in that room was an attached bathroom.

"Do I have to help her with any… personal care?" Timmy inquired as he started to get nervous and flustered at the very thought.

"You don't have to worry about anything like that, Timmy." Mrs. Faragonda reassured him with a knowing smile as she noticed his unease, "We have female assistants here who help our fairies with those types of things, if they need it. Although, there is one thing that you will help her with as part of her rest routine. Since she does have frequent nightmares, you will need to make sure she gets back to sleep. She does have a difficult time falling asleep because of her restlessness, and so, she has a special medication to help her drift off." While Mrs. Faragonda explained this, Tecna sat on her enormous, soft bed and took a pill container off her nightstand.

"She doesn't seem to be having trouble now." Timmy observed as he watched her take the medication and slip off her boots. Then, she lowered her head to the pillow and closed her eyes. Suddenly, the once frightened fairy looked so peaceful to Timmy that it was hard to believe any different.

"She'll be alright now," the elderly woman whispered, escorting him out of the room and dimming the lights, "When she is in her states of panic, fear completely overcomes her. She won't be able to think about anything else but that fear." So, they left Tecna's room and went back to her office. Mrs. Faragonda had even more information to give the young man.
