Prologue
Tywin Lannister rode his horse harder and faster. He must reach his homeland quickly. He had recently come back from Kingslanding.
His wife, Joanna Lannister is giving birth to their fourth child.
He curses the timing when everything has gone sour.
Joanna is the light of his world.
Tywin is happy that she gave him first an heir and a daughter. Twins were greatly celebrated in all of Westland's.
However, to his surprise is the birth of his second son was quite a shock.
A dwarf for a son, but his wife Joanna loved him all the same. She lived through after his birth. She made full recovery and focused all her time with their children including Tyrion.
The king had been heard about their second son, and Tywin had begotten his dwarf son instead from the gods, "to teach him some humility at last".
Joanna urged Tywin to keep calm and said, "Remember my love. He is king now, but he won't last forever."
Despite the warnings from the Measter himself, which he hated stated that Tyrion's birth could have killed Joanna, but she made full recovery.
They continue being together for years until news came shortly unexpected. Aerys had been taken to Lord Denys Darklyn refused to pay taxes, demanding a new charter for Duskendale and certain rights for its citizens.
During the time, he received a raven that says his lady wife is pregnant again. It is a joyous occasion that is believed that good tidings will be in their favor that King Aerys will be saved and victories shall belong to his loyal house.
Ser Barristan the Bold rescues King Aerys before Tywin and his armies could storm into the castle and like Tarbecks and Reynes. House of Darklyn is extinct now.
His relationships with King Aerys are more estranged.
"Tywin!" He is greeted by his sister Genna and brother Gerion.
"Well?" Tywin did not stop as he quickly moved towards his home.
"You barely made it!" Both siblings said.
Tywin walked at a fast pace into the front chambers where his wife is screaming and inside something doesn't feel right.
One by one maids were back and forth carrying bloody blankets which Tywin had to notice it looks too much blood for one baby to be born.
He focused on the door where his wife resigns.
He didn't notice that his children came to hear the news of their newborn sibling.
A sound of a crying child sounds out.
Tywin eagerly waited for the news.
'Is it a boy? Or a girl?' Those were two things in his head.
However, dread came when The Maester frowned and looked at Lord Lannister as grievances.
"Please enter, my lord."
Tywin frowned, but he quietly followed inside.
His lady wife, Joanna lay there pale as sweats are covering her skin. She looks like she would be asleep, but it is wrong.
"Joanna," He kneeled and grabbed hold of her hand.
"Tywin," Joanna whispers as she gazed at him so lovingly.
"The child," He was cut off by Joanna. "It's a girl. And she is beautiful."
He looked behind him and saw a maid holding a baby girl. He gestured to bring the baby for him to see. The baby girl is small, but she is no dwarf.
She looks like her mother and very much like Lannister colors. He gestured to steps away from him as he was about to turn his attention to his wife.
However, he noticed another one carrying a small body.
"That's…"
"It was another set of twins a boy and girl. Sadly, he is stillborn." Tears are shed from her beautiful eyes. Joanna was disappointed but sad that she had lost one son.
His hand tightens in sadness, but fear. He firmly kissed her forehead to tell her that he still loves her.
"Promise, me," Joanna whispers at Tywin. "Protect our family. Promise me."
She slowly passed away.
The baby shrieks and cries loudly as if she knew that her mother and brother are no longer in this world.
Tywin silently cries as he holds his dead wife's hand. He calms himself down and looked where his daughter is.
"You," He pointed at the maid holding his second daughter. "Bring her to me."
The maid shyly brought the daughter to him.
He holds his daughter and rocks her in his arms. "You owe me a great debt and that debt must be pay in full. That would mean you must obey my every command and hopefully you won't shame me as your siblings will."
He looked down at his daughter as she calms down a bit. She looks very much like his wife. So it is fitting for her to have that name.
"You will be Joanna Lannister. You will live for my sake."
