I've been watching those in the outside world frolicking about the surface in pure joy and bliss. Such inncoent souls to know what comes beyond the vast nothingness of wherever place I am.
For all I know, I was floating amidst the darkness of what I have predicted to be the void.
I've spent many years... no, far too many years here.
In here I wept.
Wept for the feeling of loneliness.
Wept for the yearning of my poor family. They must be worried sick of me.
Wept for the time to pass me by.
Wept for the pain and hunger I felt, but now, I didn't know it was there.
And wept for the freedom I craved from this obscure prison I was enslaved in.
But eventhough I did weep for all this I've learned to lust, I knew nothing could grant any of my pleas. And so, I did not wail.
I did not talk.
I did not cough.
I did not sneeze.
I did not d.
No sounds of anything, even breathing, could be heard in this dreaded place I now call as my sanctuary.
I was here all alone... With the eerie Silence beside me.
It never bothered to even address me. Oh yes, why bother when you could not hear, see, or even touch it?
At first, I was ignorant. I did not know it was there the first time I came to this place.
And so...
I gasped out of fear of seeing nothing at all. I gasped, a bit too loud.
Instantly I heard it, and it was horrible. It kept ringing through my ears, anger was clearly heard beneath this deceiving element, irritated by any sound it could hear.
And so I did not even try to make any sound at all, not daring to disturb the Silence any longer.
Is this the punishment my own curiosity had given me? Was I not allowed to reveal the truth through my own experimentations?
I looked down at nothing at all. There's no floor to be seen in the void.
Bold and noble.
Very courageous enough.
I smiled at the compliments I gave myself through my hollow head.
The Silence was never meant to be heard by only me. It was meant for everyone out there.
But I stopped it.
Bravely, I sacrificed my own self to spare every single one of them, humans or monsters, from the suffering at the hands of Silence. Nobody deserved to be tortured by the Sound's other.
So gave myself in, receiving all given misery, all for a good cause.
"A good cause? Haha, don't make me laugh. A miserable comedian wanna-be like you wouldn't even give yourself in to Silence!" A voice cackled, its giggles echoing through the obscurity, but I wasn't taunted. I only huffed silently, used to the annoying voice of Entropy.
"I may not be the best comedian, but I guess you could say, I wanna-be one for a good cause!" I chuckled, using the ancient language of the Wingdings hand signal. I've always known about this art, but never thought it could come in good use if you're someone who's stuck in a void with the Silence.
"Whatever, stop twisting my words!" The voice growled in irritation, clearly annoyed by the attempted pun I made, "Gee, you're far worse than the smiley comedian trashbag I came across back in the surface."
"I guess I could call myself, a proud dadster!" I laughed silently, only to see the voice's beholder emerging through the depths of the endless sea of blackness.
She wasn't the best company at all, if I could say so myself. A bit too loud, and complaining must be a habit of hers, but at least she's all I got. And I gotta admit, it's nice annoying a demon like her.
Even until now, I still wondered how she ended up in here. She is... a broken sight to watch.
She once again, groaned, as black liquid oozed from her empty eye sockets down to her Hate-infested skin. Even her clothes are all blotted with the same Hate substance. The only color that stood out of her black tainted appearance was her short mahogany hair, and a slightly visible crimson red glow beneath her soulless eyes.
What I couldn't understand was how she could even give out a maniacal smile despite her eerie presence.
"Laugh all you want, trash bag. It'll be your last anyway." She grinned evilly, to my suspicion.
"To what do I owe your presence, child?"
"The usual. Ruining your hopes."
"You seem to have a terrible job in doing so, then." I rolled my pinpricks in sarcasm.
"Oh, but this time." She paused, leaning in to giggle, "I'll sure be crushing every bit of it!"
I frowned, knowing what she meant by that.
"A way to end your suffering,
Must hope whilst soul be filled,
Determination encountering,
Through sound together must be heard."
The ominous whispering of Silence' echoes of prediction came ringing in my skull. Silence, in it's gentle form of a breeze, hinted me of the possible route to freedom.
The only way to rid of the troubled torments of Silence, and for me to end the sufferings...
Is the sound of combined music of Determination.
Through many years of waiting, I thought I have finally found the perfect soul to initiate it. Unfortunately, she's here with me. The little demonized human.
But after looking after the progress of the Surface, hope once again regained... in a strangely dark way.
This timeline... something is amidst, and I took notice of that.
A form of deceit, I thought watched right. At first it was just some other human. A perfect soul of Mercy and Determination.
I decided she's the one.
The key to my freedom and the destruction of Silence.
I could tell, she was pretty good in going along with the other monsters, then time warped. The next thing I knew, the demon's down there, taking over the 'merciful' route.
I couldn't understand what just happened, until...
"What are you planning, Chara?"
"Can't you tell? And here I thought you were a royal scientist!" She smiled, continuing, "I found her!" She laughed, mostly because of expecting my sudden shocked expression
"Your source of Determination will soon be mine, Gaster." the child turned around to face nothing but the dusk, "While you were stupidly distracted from 'looking after' the timeline, I figured it was the perfect time to finally plot on destroying it."
"You're already too late, skeleton." She paused, gazing back at me with her smile widening ear to ear.
"Cause I already got her."
"What have you done!?" I signed agressively in dissaray.
"What I must. The Silence would want to have you here for a little longer. Soon, I'll be consuming every bit of her and your Hope and Determination. I'll crush her soul fragment by fragment, until..." she paused, shoving her hands to form explosion signals, "Silence..." she giggled uncontrollably after.
"You're out of your mind?! Do you not see? The Silence has done this to you!"
"Which is good!" She cackled childishly, "The Silence was kind enough to show me the truth!"
"Which is nothing at all! You're deafened by the Silence, by something that doesn't exist. Let me help you, Chara. Stop this madness and please listen!"
"Listen to what?" She growled, "Like you said, deafened by Silence. There's nothing else I could ever want, and would not even bother to hear out any of Sound's lies!"
"But Sound is the truth! You will not understand unless you allow me to let you hear it."
"That sounds great! I could allow you any time, but... Will the Silence allow you? You're smart enough to know what would happen next if you even dare try!" She exclaimed, playfully prancing away.
"W-where are you headed?" I stammered, my soul beating in pure fear and disappointment.
"Well work, of course! The Silence wouldn't wait for anyone, I can't wait to play with my new toy!" She giggled in excitement like a little girl she already is.
"Leave her alone!"
"Oh, Gaster. Why would I do that?" She beamed, slowly fading in a way to transport herself back to the Surface.
"Chara, stop." I just said, as I clenched my phalanges to a fist, hope slowly draining out of my trembling cloaked body.
"Buh-bye!" She said, blowing me a kiss, before completely disappearing into thin air.
"Chara!?" I growled angrily in a pointlessly desperate attempt to stop her from going away, only to stumble back in realization of what I have done. I took my hands shakily to cover my mouth.
I... I just... A mistake.
I shouted.
Immediately, I felt a stinging pain surging through my skull, an irritating ring of Silence came rushing through my nonexistent ears, halting my sense of hearing.
"N-no! No! I-I'm sorry! It was an accident! Please don't let me hear you again!" I whimpered in Wingdings, as I held my skull, wincing wildly in pain. I could've sweared to be deaf by now.
I begged and begged, hoping to stop the Silence from torturing me once more, until it stopped. By now, I could still hear ringing, only for it to stop in a minute.
I sighed silently in relief.
The sound of pleasant echoes of music suddenly came to hearing, much to my surprise.
I looked around trying to find the source. My gaze fell on a certain red glowing wisp with streaks of golden light from a distance. Floating near it, I grasped it gently on my palms, holding it close to my skull to listen.
Let the music heal your soul
Let the music take control
Let the music give you
The power to move any mountain
The voice that came out gently sung. I smiled at the encouraging sweet tune that seemed to cure my hope and deafness.
I felt at ease upon hearing the sound of Determination.
At least I now know I wasn't deaf.
"Do not worry." I mouthed silently, caressing the small red light in an attempt to keep it warm.
"I'll protect you in any way I can, Frisk. All of you."
