It cannot be put into words, the feelings of being trapped into life yet again. Madara once longs for a restart ― a fresh new chance ― yet when it is being given to him on a silver platter, Madara doesn't want it.

He doesn't want this kind of restart.

Izuna, garbed in white pristine kimono, is about to be cremated. This will be Madara's second time watching his younger brother turns into ash and Madara wonders the nature of him being here. The underworld or even the absurd pure world will be better than this recycled hell.

It is cruel, Madara knows it deep inside his screaming bones and seething blood, to find yourself back in a time where everything and anything is just wrong. It is even more cruel when Madara doesn't find it in himself the will to start over ― or at least having a new life, because that is simply impossible. Here in Land of Fire, everyone is fighting over something. Maybe some are Black Zetsu's doing ― some definitely not ― but that parasite is omniscient enough to monitor the entirety of the Land of Fire, the largest and diverse country in the world.

Being Ōtsutsuki Indra's transmigrant is a double-edged sword, as Black Zetsu is constantly watching him from somewhere.

Madara decides he cannot run alone, repeating his previous action. He cannot live alone to have his peace (to reach his peace of mind), he isn't made to be so even if everyone assumes so. He must appeal to his clan and hopes some of them will come with him. Appeal to them that they doesn't have to depend their entire income on some old greedy men who think they can do anything (get away with anything) as long as they have the money for it.

Noblemen, the numerous Daimyō of the Land of Fire, with their petty bickering over territories, arranged marriages, or over some lost riches yet in the end they will go hiring shinobi as their puppet show to settle their scores ― and how long? How long has this been going? Is it since humans dwell the earth? Is it when Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo gift humanity chakra to practice ninshū?

Humans are animals in the sense that nature still rule over them despite having the sense and logic to be different, to make a change to this blight world. One thing for sure, humans will never stop fighting. Creating conflicts and at the same time spouting nonsense about compassion, love, peace ― they are basically in the job description of being 'human'.

Madara had fallen into despair once he sears the idea over and over into his brain. And he is a fool for that. He cannot change what makes them human. Black Zetsu did a good job helping him bury his humanity ― rejecting humanity.

(That parasite will have much to answer to).

The clan wars are still ongoing. Izuna is still dead (he died twice to him now). The members of his clan are noticeably dwindling day after day (some of them ran into the unknown, some to the Senju hoping for a better life, the naive cowards ― blood traitors ― they would be killed slowly by the Senju simply because they have the potential to unlock the Sharingan, didn't they know that?). Supplies for this year winter is inadequate, they have to steal this year to accommodate the clan. And so on.

Once Izuna is reduced to nothing but ash, Madara thinks he has done well enough to maintain a semblance of sanity. However, he is done with this land. He is done with staying near the Senju ― the Land of Fire is the root of all his misery. His clan's misery. His ancestors' anguish. The land where it all started.

Madara is done with it all.
